Hey guys! Sorry for the delay!
The brand new chapter is here! Hope you will enjoy it!
After a short night's sleep, Peyton picked up her vehicle in Fayetteville with her father. Brooke took it upon herself to keep an eye on Noah even though she had a pretty intense hangover. She spent the morning watching cartoons with the kid. She was thinking a lot about her impromptu meeting with Ellie at the supermarket the night before. Brooke had to tell Peyton about it if Larry doesn't make the first move. She was very protective of her best friend and her godson. Brooke would never tolerate anyone hurting them. Noah later proposed to his godmother to go play basketball, which she refused. She didn't have enough energy to do it.
Due to Brooke's refusal, Noah threw a tantrum that lasted several minutes. Fortunately, Peyton and Larry arrived home.
"Eh. Eh. What's the matter?" Peyton asked as she entered the house.
"Aunt Brooke doesn't want to play ball with me." Noah Sawyer replied between two sobs.
It made Peyton laugh a bit. "Aunt Brooke is a little bit tired, buddy. We'll play later this week, okay?"
"I have a surprise for you, Noah." Larry Sawyer declared.
Suddenly the child stopped crying and looked at his grandfather. "Surprise for me?"
"That's right." Larry smiled. "Tomorrow we're going to Atlanta, just you and me. We're going to the baseball game!"
"Baseball game!" Noah exclaimed as he rubbed the tears off his cheeks.
Larry explained to Brooke that he got this idea while picking up Peyton's vehicle earlier. He was going to bring Noah to an Atlanta Braves game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they would sleep in a hotel and then come back the next day.
"You'll be able to recover from your lack of sleep," Larry said.
Peyton grinned. "You bet I will."
"Oh God, I can't remember the last night I slept more than 8 hours," Peyton replied.
"Yeah, yeah, Sleepyhead." The brunette said with a neutral tone. "But now, it's time to get ready for the party."
Peyton and Brooke went to change into their best clothes. Around 4 p.m., they left with Noah and Larry at Nathan and Haley's home. Nathan had texted Peyton in the morning to invite Larry to the party. Arriving at their friends' house, Peyton parked The Comet. Noah was complaining that he didn't want to go.
"You're going to see Jamie again, darling." Peyton declared. "Remember him?"
Noah kicked the pebbles in front of him and started to wince. The boy crossed his arms. Peyton picked up her son, and he started crying. Brooke knocked on the door while her best friend tried to control her child. Haley James Scott quickly appeared in the doorway. She was stunned to see her two friends at home. Nathan hadn't informed his wife of their arrival at Tree Hill.
"What the heck?" Haley yelled but began to laugh as soon as she heard Noah's tantrum.
"Hey, Tutor Girl!" Brooke said happily. "I'm sorry, that wasn't the kind of arrival we wanted to make." She went to hug Haley.
"Hi, Hales!" Peyton gasped. Noah was kicking. "Stop. Now." She said firmly to her son and put him down.
"What are you doing here?" Haley asked them.
"The only one lacking sleep here is you, P. Sawyer. You've always been a sloth." Brooke laughed. "I don't even know if 12 hours of sleep is enough for you."
Peyton smirked. "Your husband invited us."
"Let's go inside and tell me about it!" Haley replied. "Hey, Larry. It's nice to see you."
Stepping inside, Noah instantly calmed down. They joined Nathan, who was with Skills Taylor and Marvin McFadden. The reunion was very happy. Peyton and Brooke hadn't seen Skills in years; he hadn't been able to travel to New York for Thanksgiving a few months earlier. Jamie approached Noah and invited him to play. The children disappeared on the second floor.
"Want something to drink, girls? And Larry?" Haley James asked.
Brooke and Peyton both said that they wanted a beer, while Larry chose a soft drink. Then, they all went to sit in the backyard. It was hot, and the sun was perfect. Brooke was hoping she could work on her tan a bit. Haley was so happy to be with her friends. It was important for her to see them again. The last few months had been difficult for Haley, who had finished her university in addition to raising her son almost alone: Nathan had started his first year in the NBA, and he was rarely at home.
"How long are you guys in Tree Hill?" Haley asked her friends.
Brooke smiled. "Probably until the end of the week."
"How great is it, right? It's going to be a fun week." Haley replied.
"It will be unless my daughter doesn't spend the entire week sleeping." Larry Sawyer joked, which made Peyton frown.
"How come that no one is surprised?" Nathan chuckled.
It was fun teasing Peyton. She was sometimes very touchy, but she knew her friends loved her.
They all talked together for a long time. Mouth told his friends how hard it was to get a job out of college. He had studied communications, and despite the number of interviews he had done, no one called back. As for Skills, he was very proud to announce that he would be the new assistant coach of the Tree Hill Ravens in the fall. Brooke and Peyton answered tons of questions about Clothes Over Bros. They had worked a lot in the last few months—more than usual.
"How is it to work with your mom, Brooke?" Haley asked.
"Awful. Especially since she moved in with us in March." Brooke replied. "The owners of the mansion she was renting decided to take over the house, and now she landed in our apartment in Manhattan."
"It's now only about the fact that she moved in, but she controls everything. Literally everything." Peyton added.
Nathan chuckled. "I thought it wouldn't be worse than our Thanksgiving party."
"What happened, pals?" Skills asked.
"Brooke's mom had a little bit too much wine, and she ended up trash-talking about her ex-husband the entire evening," Nathan explained. "And at some point, she almost kicked us out. But we were all staying at Brooke's."
"That was heavy." Peyton laughed. "But she's much calmer when Noah is around. She's always been nice to him."
"At least she's nice to someone." Brooke spat.
It wasn't easy between Brooke and Victoria. It was hard for Brooke to like her mother because she treated everyone like crap. People who knew Victoria Davis could testify. However, she was very fond of Peyton's son for obscure reasons. She sometimes offered to drive him to kindergarten. One day, when Peyton was extremely busy with work, Victoria brought Noah to the Central Park Zoo. Brooke didn't understand her mom's actions. She had never spent precious time with her daughter in the past 22 years.
For dinner, Nathan made burgers on the barbecue. They had a great time together. Around 9 p.m., Larry mentioned that it was late for him since he was leaving the following day with his grandson. Peyton offered to take her vehicle home and that they would take a taxi later.
"If you want to go out tonight, maybe I can take Jamie home with Noah and me. Then, I could bring him back tomorrow morning." Larry offered.
It was great from Larry. Haley hesitated a bit, but Nathan thought it was a great idea. He picked up a pajama and filled a backpack with necessities for a night. Larry left with the kids, and Brooke had already claimed that it would be an epic night.
"Isn't he great?" Peyton asked her friends, talking about her father. "I'm so glad he gets to spend time with Noah."
"Yeah, he is. Your dad comes around often." Haley declared. "He's been going to fish, and he always brings back fish for everyone. He also offered to mow the lawn if we need help."
"I think he has way too much free time since he retired." Peyton laughed.
Brooke stomped. "Okay, enough talking about handsome Larry. What are we doing?"
"I was going to propose to go to the TRIC." Mouth declared. "I saw on their Facebook page that it's an early 2000s themed party."
"Yeah, dawg. That's lit." Skills replied.
Everyone had agreed: they would spend the rest of the evening at TRIC. In order to be responsible, they called two taxis to drive everyone to the bar. Upon arriving there, they saw several familiar faces, including Theresa, a former teammate from the cheerleading team almost jumped into Brooke and Peyton's arms. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, a guy who was apparently from Charlotte, and a few other people.
The TRIC was packed. As soon as they entered, Haley and Peyton headed for the bar. Behind it, a man was working.
"Chase! Hi!" Haley exclaimed.
"Hey, Haley! Nice to see you." The guy replied. "Oh! You must be Peyton Sawyer!"
Peyton frowned. "And who are you?"
"Chase Adams." The young man extended his hand. "Brooke's ex-boyfriend. Senior Year."
"Oh right! After I had left. Heard a lot about you." Peyton replied. "Nice to meet you."
He smiled. "What can I get you, girls?"
"Sex On The Beach," Haley replied.
"I'll get the same!" Peyton added. "Brooke is somewhere over here if you feel like catching up." She winked.
Chase took the two glasses and looked up. "My co-worker went to get some ice in the storage. It won't be long, I promise."
Peyton and Haley waited a while. Nathan appeared next to them. He explained that Brooke was stuck talking with one of Bevin Mirskey's brothers with Skills and Mouth.
"Ellie, do you need some help?" Chase yelled to a woman coming with bags of ice.
At the same time, Peyton Sawyer lifted her head, and her body quickly tensed. She thought she was hallucinating. She couldn't believe what was happening. She was seized with sudden nausea. Peyton was now shaking. Her eyes burned. It wasn't a ghost. Elizabeth Harp was in the same place as her. Nathan Scott quickly understood what was happening. He promptly took Peyton's arm and gave his wife a dark look.
"Let's get out of here." Nathan Scott shouted. "Hales, go get everyone."
Even though she walked away, Peyton turned her head again. She was so angry. She pushed her way through the crowd in a split second and left the bar. Nathan couldn't follow her. She had a strong desire to destroy everything in her way.
What are your reactions? What do you think will happen with Peyton?
See you soon!
