Chapter 4- Fantasies, Friendships, and Fireflies
Mitsumi has Naruto pinned to the floor of his own apartment. "Come on Naruto, we are soon to be wed,so let's both enjoy this." "Naruto!" shouted the kyuubi, "listen to Mitsumi,this is a once in a liftime offer, and I don't want to miss out!" Mitsumi placed her chest on Naruto's. "Let me go Mitsumi!" shouted Naruto. Mitsumi moved her lips closer to his. "Just close your eyes Naruto"said Mitsumi as her lips got even closer. Right before their lips met, Hinata came into the room with a present. Naruto tried to say something but the words wouldn't come out. Mitsumi looked at Hinata with a dark grin on her face, "do you think you could come back later, me and my man are kinda busy." Hinata dropped the present. She turned around and as she left a tear could be seen going down her cheek. "You know Naruto, we don't even need her." Naruto glared at Mitsumi, "I want you to get out now." Mitsumi, looking down so her eyes couldn't be seen, got off of Naruto and left out the door. Naruto grabbed the present Hinata had made for him, set on his bed, and looked at the wrapping paper, then unwrapped it. Inside was a Naruto plushie and it had push me on it's right hand. When he pushed it, it said, "I'm gonna be the next Hokage, believe it!" Naruto layed down on the bed. "Man, I really screwed up this time."
Hinata's Room-11:30 pm
"I'm so stupid!" "How could I believe that Naruto would like me, I'm just boring Hinata Hyuuga!" "Who wouldn't like Mitsumi, she's prettier and her breasts are bigger." "Why did I ever have to meet him, if I hadn't, my life would be easier!" Neji was peeking through a crack in the door, and at this last comment he backed away. "I didn't know Hinata's affection for Naruto had gotten this deep, I guess I have to now." Neji disappeared in a flash.
Naruto's Apartment-1:00 am
Naruto is still bummed about earlier. "Naruto, get out here!" Naruto got out of bed, "that voice." Naruto walked out of his apartment and into the hallway, only to find a fist in his stomach. Naruto looked up and he saw Neji. Naruto stepped back, "what was that for!" Neji's chakra started to swell and become visible, "how could you do this, knowing how she feels!" Naruto stood up straight, "what are you talking about" said Naruto in a serious but clueless manner. Neji's chakra level went back down, "you truly are clueless." "Naruto, come with me."
Hyuuga mansion-2:30 am
Naruto followed Neji to the front of the Hyuuga mansion. "What are we doing here" Naruto asked. They walked inside and stopped at the door to Hinata's room. "Naruto, this is Hinata's room." "This is the place where she cried for hours over you." "She's asleep now, but I want you to go in, wake her up and cheer her up, even if you don't mean what you say." Naruto could not believe what he just heard. "Neji, why would you ask me to do that!" "I would never lie to Hinata!" Neji looked at Naruto as if he was staring through his soul. "Then why did you make her cry!" Hinata started moving in her bed. Neji calmed down. "Naruto, this is the bottom line, if you don't lie, get in there and tell her the truth." Neji pushed Naruto into the room. Naruto had been in Hinata's room before, but he never noticed how big it was. Hinata's room was about four times bigger than his own apartment. Naruto looked at the walls and gasped. Not because of what was there, but what wasn't. Last time he was here, there were posters of Naruto everywhere, but now all the posters were gone. The room seemed so boring and empty. Naruto set right next to Hinata's bed. Hinata was facing the other way. "I won't wake you up, but I want you to hear this." "Mitsumi was the first person to ever truly be in love with me, when she came back to me, I just got overwhelmed. I think I may be in love with her. Saying that, I would have accepted her return had it not been for you. I love you too. We didn't get to see a lot of each other when we were kids because of your prestigious family and I was just a boy with no parents, but when we did, I was glad. I can't love both of you and right now I can't decide. I know I'm asking a lot, but could you please wait for me. I promise it won't be for very long." Naruto stood up. "When I reach my decision, you won't be sorry." Naruto left the room. He walked past Neji with his head down and whispered, "it's done." Little did they both know Hinata was awake and heard every word Naruto spoke.
Outside Konoha Village- 3:00 pm
Hinata has taken her fighting stance. Right in front of her is Mitsumi, using the same stance as her brother Sasuke. Mitsumi smiled confidently at Hinata. "There's no way your gonna win, I know more than you." Hinata gave Mitsumi the same look. "You really think so, your on!" Hinata and Mitsumi run towards each other.
Outside Konoha Village after the fight- 3:45 pm
Hinata and Mitsumi are both leaning against trees across from each other. "Hinata, your pretty good." Hinata smiled at Mitsumi, "well, what did you expect." Mitsumi placed one finger on her lip, "well…. I thought you were a papa's girl who couldn't fight, but I was wrong." Mitsumi and Hinata slowly walked towards each other slowly. They were right in front of each other. Both of them smiled and said in unison, "this is stupid, let's be friends." Mitsumi smiled. "Your right Hinata, even though we're rivals, we can still be friends." Mitsumi put out her hand. Hinata paused for a second, grabbed Mitsumi's hand and slammed her on the ground. Hinata smiled, "now we can be friends!"
Random place in the village- 5:00 pm
Sasuke is walking around with Sakura latched to his arm. "You know Sasuke, I was thinking we could go somewhere nice before the mission." Sasuke looked away. Sasuke looked very irritated. "Sakura" Sasuke said, "the mission is a long way away, there'll probably be something to do." "She is so annoying" Sasuke thought. All of a sudden, Sakura's eyes filled with stars. "I know, we can go to the Firefly Festival tonight!" Sasuke blushed a little, because the firefly festival was for couples. "I guess we can go." Sakura let go of Sasuke's arm and rushed in front of him. "I'll go get ready, please pick me up around seven." Sakura ran to get ready.
Ino's house- 5:15 pm
"This is going to be the last time I do something like this," whispered a deep sounding voice. The person rang the doorbell. Five minutes later, Ino came to the door. Her eyes met with the intruder's. "Gaara, what are you doing here." Gaara thought to himself, "what am I doing here."
Flashback- 3 days ago
Kankuro met Gaara right outside of his apartment. Gaara lives in the same building as Naruto. Lately, since all the nations have finally come together in harmony there is a time of peace. Because of this peace, Gaara stopped being evil and even started listening to his brother and sister. "Gaara, me and Temari think that you should find a girlfriend. Gaara looked at Kankuro very awkward like. "Why should I find a girlfriend." Kankuro just smiled. "Well the times of peace have come and your older siblings were thinking that our family needs to grow." Gaara's expression eased up a bit. "I guess it couldn't hurt."
End of flashback
"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the firefly festival tonight." Ino put her finger on her forehead. "Well…okay, come back later and I'll be ready." Ino shut the door and ran up to her room.Gaara turned around and started walking home. "Kankuro made it sound like getting a date was going to be hard." "I'm surprised, even when it comes to girls, I'm still better than Kankuro."
Naruto's Apartment- 5:45
Naruto is laying on his bed. "Man I'm glad I can just set at home and relax!" All of a sudden, Naruto heard his phone ringing. "I don't feel like answering it." The phone went on voice message. "Um…Naruto, It's me Hinata." Naruto rushed to the phone. "Hello Hinata!" "Naruto, I..um…was…wondering if you would like to go to the firefly festival with me tonight." Naruto beame silent. "It's okay if you don't want to go" Hinata said. "Sure I'll go" Naruto said. "Great!" Hinata said, "please come by around 6:45!" Hinata hung up the phone. As soon as Naruto hung up his phone, it rang again. Naruto let the voice mail come on again. "Naruto, it's me Mitsumi! I just wanted to say that I want you to take me to the firefly festival, and if you don't, I'll curse you for the rest of your life, bye!" Mitsumi hung up the phone.
