Applepaw's point of view

" Good Starclan i really don't want to be here."

Applepaw heard her father sigh " Really whys that honey?" Heathertail replied.

" Look i got like no sleep last night and it's super cold out and I'm just not in a social mood right now" Applepaw could tell that her father was having a bad day he often became adjected and anti social when he had a bad day Nightcloud was the only one who could attempt to get him out of it.

" Do you think Hootwhisker and the others will be okay back in camp?" Brindlewing meowed concerningly to Kestrelflight as she hoped over the bridge.

" Don't worry Brindlewing there wounds are getting better me and Whistlepaw put on fresh cobwebs before we left" Kestrelflight meowed reassuringly " besides Gorsetail, Whiskernose, and Larkwing are still there they can help them if they need it."

Applepaw leapt off the fallen tree bridge onto the island Thunderclan was already there Bramblestar sat quietly atop the great oak gazing across the island to great hills of snow spanned across the edge of the lake the cold air sat still the moon high above Applepaw's head in the cloudless night illuminated the lake completely frozen in Leafbares cold grip.

" That's odd the Riverclan isn't here" Woodpaw meowed " Is it with all that happened this morning there probably not in the best state" Applepaw thought back to the morning and about Mistystar and Reedwhisker being killed by that wolf.

" Wonder how they chose i leader if there's no leader or deputy?" Applepaw pondered.

" Ya i don't know maybe the medicine cat choses they are the next highest in clan rankings" Songpaw responded.

" I just hope Riverclan's okay if the wolf came back they'd be in major trouble" Flutterpaw meowed uncomfortably " Oh you say that just because you want to be with you're little Riverclan friends Splashpaw and Fogpaw" Whistlepaw resounded.

" Do not" Flutterpaw snarled" Applepaw could see him blushing.

" You do so" Whistlepaw's green eyes shined with a playful smirk.

"Do not."

Ignoring the other Windclan apprentices small talk Applepaw scanned the clearing of numerous Thunderclan cats looking for Finchsong and Flamestorm " Hey Applepaw how you doing" looked like Finchsong and Flamestorm had found her first " Oh things are going fine" Applepaw meowed.

" How are you guys doing after that kin attack" Flamestorm meowed.

" Were doing okay Harestar lost a life and a couple cats are still in the medicine den but other then that nobody was severely hurt."

" Pretty much the same in Thunderclan Bramblestar lost a life to but no injury's a least major" As Finchsong spoke Applepaw couldn't help but notice how frail not just Finchsong and Flamestorm but all of Thunderclan looked there fur hung dull and matted to there skin there ribs looked like there was nothing but skin on them they weren't lean like Windclan or scrawny like ShadowClan they were starving.

" look there's Skyclan and ShadowClan" Woodpaw pointed to the tree bridge as both clans entered the clearing Applepaw's eyes scanned for Wrenpaw she quickly spotted the small golden tabby she-cat talking with Rabbitleap.

" Hay Wrenpaw over hear" Applepaw called out Wrenpaw turned her head milling when she saw her friend quickly bounding over to meet her.

" How ya doing Wrenpaw?" Applepaw meowed in a pleasant tone.

" Oh good you'll never believe what we scented."

" What?" Finchsong questioned.

" Well we were at the ShadowClan border and we scented a wolf probably the same one from that night we snuck out."

" Wow really that's interesting" Flamestorm meowed.

" Oh that's wonderful just what we needed another problem to deal with" Finchsong sighed Applepaw's blue eyes shifted uncomfortable knowing about what happened with Riverclan.

" Um well about that earlier today."

" Oh thank Starclan Riverclan's finally here" Tigerstar's meow cut of Applepaw as everyone turned there head to see Riverclan entering the clearing a uneasy and grief stricken tone hung around the Riverclan cats like a dense fog.

" Oh there you are" Flutterpaw bounded over to greet Splashpaw and Fogpaw as they joined the rest of the apprentices.

" Is that Brackenpelt!" Bristlefrost meowed Applepaw saw Bristlefrost point up to the break oak Brackenpelt flailing about as she tried climbing up the trunk of the great oak Leafstar reached out her paw to help her up.

A storm of meows erupted among the clans.

" Brackenpelt what in Starclan's going on here are are you leader of Riverclan should we call you Brackenstar" Bramblestar meowed obviously confused along with Leafstar Tigerstar and Harestar shared uneasy glances at each other both knowing what had happened earlier.

" Can you just let me explain please i just i just really want to get this over with" Brackenpelt meowed Applepaw could see Brackenpelt fighting back tears in her amber eyes.

" Cats of all clans i do not bring any good news" Brackenpelt meowed trying her hardest to make her voice not sound shaky.

" There is danger around are lake today a wolf that we have dubbed Shadowmaw savagely attacked are camp sadly Mosspelt Reedwhisker and beloved leader Mistystar were killed in the fight " the clearing blasted into a chorus of chatter of shock and sadness Applepaw could see Brackenpelt was starting to lose control of herself she was beginning to cry obviously the stress put on her was very high Leafstar gently wrapped her tail around her in support.

" Oh my Starclan that's terrible Brackenpelt" meowed Leafstar.

" I knew Mosspelt, Mistystar, and Reedwhisker my hole life even back in the old forest the lake will be different without them here" Bramblestar meowed softly.

" Dose this mean you're leader now?" Harestar questioned.

" Harestar be quite let her talk when she feels like it" Tigerstar snapped at the Windclan leader.

" Uh ok."

" But yes Harestar i am Riverclan's new leader Riverclan voted on it and decided on me and Willowshine said that Starclan has given me approval after we're done here i will be heading to the Moonpool for my 9 lives i have named Icewing was the new deputy of Riverclan" Applepaw could see the pure white she-cat sat nervously underneath the great oak beside Cloverfoot.

" Brackenstar! Icewing! Brackenstar! Icewing!" rang out in a awkward cheer.

Brackenpelt fell silent here amber eyes staring at the ground.

The rest of the leaders were reporting there news in an awkward tone but nothing anyone said was important not like anyone was really paying attention.

" Oh my Starclan that's terrible for Riverclan Wrenpaw meowed."

" I can't imagine how Brackenpelt is feeling right now to become leader of a clan overnight like that her stress level must be higher then a large pine tree" Flamestorm mowed.

" I'm sorry about the loss Splashpaw" Flutterpaw meowed solemnly.

" Ya it's awful" Splashpaw sighed his green eyes starring at the ground " Mistystar and Reedwhisker is what almost everybody has known for there hole life i don't know what were gonna do without them."

" Do you think Brackenpelt is gonna be a good leader?" Asked Songpaw.

" Ya she's always been a strong warrior she's been stressed out of her mind all day."

" Gathering dismissed" Bramblestar meowed hoping of the great oak followed by Brackenpelt.

" Great Starclan the gatherings over already" Fogpaw meowed in surprised Applepaw began to follow Windclan out of the clearing onto the great tree bridge as she was about to hop onto the tree bridge a voice got her attention.

" Hay Applepaw over hear" Flamestorm meowed from the islands shore Applepaw slipped away from the rest of Windclan to join Flamestorm down at the islands shore Finchsong and Wrenpaw were also there.

" Well now that everyone is here" Flamestorm meowed " What in Starclan is happening right now if feels like since leafbare started everything has gone to mousedung."

" That's because things have gone to mousedung." Applepaw meowed.

" Think about that all of this has happened in about one moon its like you turn you're head for a moment and something else bad has happened."

Wrenpaw hadn't said anything yet her amber eyes staring out at the frozen lake.

" What are you thinking about Wrenpaw?" Applepaw meowed curiously.

" Well i was just thinking about the prophy." Replied Wrenpaw.

"A crashing wave will rush through the forest,

Ice and water will flood the veins of the clans

The howling flames will startle the birds from the trees

And the clans will be shaken forever"

And the clans will be shaken to their very core." Applepaw let the words and the nightmare Finchsong had tolled them about run through her mind she had figured out wat it had all meant the finch and wren were Finchsong and Wrenpaw the fire was Flamestorm the Appletree was herself and the yellow cat covered in blood fit Sleekwhisker exactly.

" Ya why?" Applepaw replied.

" Well i think i know what it means."

" Go on."

" A crashing wave is probably about the kin attacking."

" Ice and water is probably about all the snow that's fallen."

" Ya that would make since ice melts into water in Greenleaf so that's probably not happened yet" Flamestorm mowed.

" The howling flames and the two birds is probably something about us but i can't figure out what."

" You know why couldn't Starclan just be straight forward and tells us what's happening why do they always have to be so vague and cryptic about everything" Applepaw meowed annoyed.

" Ya i agree it really sucks." Finchsong agreed.

" Maybe it's that they say in a way that we can't understand properly but they can and it gets lost in translation." Flamestorm suggested the others chuckled at the black tom's theory.

" Do you think that we should get going? were all gonna want to get back home before anyone notices that were gone" Wrenpaw meowed.

" Good idea" Finchsong mowed " Ya its getting pretty chilly out here" Flamestorm replied " Really with all that fluff on you i would think you would be the last one to complain about cold" Wrenpaw laughed as she bounded up onto the tree bridge.

Applepaw fallowed Wrenpaw across the tree bridge followed by Finchsong and Flamestorm.

" See you tow later" Applepaw gave Finchsong and Flamestorm a final farewell before bounding of towards the Windclan moor.

Starling's point of view

" Great Starclan it's could out here" Starling though to himself as he stalked through Twoleg place after a hole day of traveling he had finally got back to the kins territory.

The lights of Twoleg place nests glimmered in the cloudless night above him the moon hung in the sky the stars danced above like a swarm of fly's.

In front of him the fence tat marked the kins camp finally came into view Starling couldn't be more happy to see it.

Fox and Donut sat guard at the hole in the fence that marked the entrance.

" Hay Fox! Donut!" Starling called out Donut was the first one to notice the blue gray she cat turned her head up to meet Starlings vision it took her a few moments to realize it was Starling.

" Oh Starling it you"

" Were in Twoleg place were you?" Fox meowed.

" I got separated when we were fleeing Windclan i got stuck in the forest and had to find my way home."

" Hu well good to see you alive we just kind of though you had been killed" those words made Starling's heart sink like a rock to know that everybody just assumed he was dead he wondered if anyone cared about if he died.

" Please come inside" Fox's meow snapped Starling from his toughs he strolled past Fox and Donut and into the camp it looked the same as when he had last saw it the monster skeleton was still there as he padded into the den ware everyone slept.

Picking a spot beside Elephant and Karen Starling let the relaxing feeling take over his body " I wonder if Elephant and London are here I'm sure they missed me" Starling though to himself as he let his amber eyes he let himself fall into darkness.

" Oh my goodness Starling is that you!" A voice woke Starling from his slumber as he groggily opened his eyes to see the thick furred gray pelt of Elephant.

" Oh hay Elephant."

" Starling where were you i was so worried about you" Elephant meowed " Hay Dragon look Starling's back" those words made Starling's heart flutter knowing that at least a few cats cared about him.

" Oh hay its Starling" Dragon meowed padding up beside Elephant

" Starling what happened to you the last time anyone saw you was when we were fleeing the Windclan camp" Dragon meowed

" Oh i got separated when we were fleeing i got lost in the woods and had to find my way back."

" Well good to have you back." Elephant meowed.

" Why don't we go get something to eat" Dragon suggested pointing over to the fully stocked fresh kill pile.

Starling was surprised to see how much pray there was at the fresh kill pile and not just the standard rats, mice, squirrels, crows, and pigeons that they usually ate there were thrush's, sparrows, jays, finch's even rabbit's Starling had never seen so much pray in one place before.

" Good catmint were did all of this pray come from?" Starling pointed to the fresh kill pile

" From the Thunderclan territory's" replied Dragon.

" Thunderclan's territory's?" Starling replied confused.

" Oh ya you weren't here yesterday Sleekwhisker announced that we would start hunting on Thunderclan territory" Elephant replied as she picked out a jay from the fresh kill pile.

" Just don't take the rabbits Sleekwhisker's saving them" Dragon meowed as he picked up a squirrel

Starling picked up a starling from the fresh kill pile then sat down to eat with Elephant and Dragon

" What's Sleekwhisker saving the rabbits for?" Starling asked

" She's saving it for the wolf" Dragon replied.

" What a wolf! what wolf?" Starling meowed in surprise almost chocking on the starling he was eating.

" There's this wolf that are patrols spotted around the clan territory were calling it Shadowmaw. Sleekwhisker though that if we left pray out around the clan territory if would incentives him to attack the clans" Dragon swallowed a bit of his squirrel as he explained.

" We tried that strategy on Riverclan by leaving the pray in the river around there camp it worked like a charm the wolf went wild and tour the camp apart"

" Ya it was great at the rate were going will have the clan's on there paws in no time" Elephant meowed excitedly.

" Were going try the same thing on tonight on Thunderclan and Skyclan tonight" Dragon meowed as he finished his squirrel.

" But how are we gonna take on two clans at once?" Starling asked as he swallowed the last of his starling

" Simply were gonna have half the kin on Skyclan half the kin on Thunderclan and will have Shadowmaw going between the two." Elephant meowed

" It won't defeat them but if we keep attacking them repeatedly will eventually brake them" Dragon added on.

" Well then I'll be ready for tonight then"
