Starling's point of view
" Everyone move out" Sleekwhisker gave the tail signal as she stalked out of Twoleg place Raven and Roach flanking her.
" You guys got the rabbits" Boss meowed to Flair who was caring one in her mouth beside Starling along side Elephant and Sam.
" Yup we got this" Elephant replied with a muffled voice.
The time had come for the kins attack on Thunderclan and Skyclan and to succeed at this there we're gonna need help from the wolf living around the clan territory's and they were gonna have to draw it out and he happened to be sent on that patrol.
The lights of Twoleg place faded into a dim glow in the background as Starling crossed the small thunderpath and into Windclan territory. A vast swath of gray clouds covered the night sky a genital snow fell across the moor the a cold breeze rustled snow into Starling's face.
" Starling Dragon you guys excited for this" Elephant meowed excitedly long gray fur blowing in the breeze " Ya I'm excited just hope neither of you get hurt" Dragon meowed " Na not really after what happened last time I'm not really looking forward to dealing clan cats again" Starling meowed shaking some snow off his spotted ginger fur.
" Remember Starling will have the Shadowmaw on are side this time" Elephant replied
" Is Shadowmaw strong?"
" Trust me Starling it would take a monster to take down that wolf when he's upset" Dragon meowed
" Halt" Sleekwhisker meowed as they reached the edge of the forest the kin patrol came to a stop in the middle of the moor everybody in the kin was there from Sleekwhisker all the way down the rankings to Starling.
" Be quite we don't want any clan cats hearing us" Sleekwhisker meowed
" Now i will be leading the patrol that's attacking Thunderclan Raven and Roach will lead the patrol attacking Skyclan" Sleekwhisker, Raven, and Roach began to announce which cats they were taking on there patrols Starling and Elephant were going to Skyclan and Dragon was going to Thunderclan.
" Se you guys later" Dragon meowed as he followed Sleekwhisker in to the Thunderclan forest the same forest Starling had spent the night in.
" Oh and try not to die" Elephant laughed Dragon looked back at them his green eyes glowing in amusement.
Starling and Elephant followed the patrol headed for Skyclan along the edge of the old Thunderpath towards an abandoned Twoleg nest were Shadowmaw was last spotted by kin patrols.
" Well look who it is if it ain't my younger brother" Starling looked beside him to see it was his brother Darkness not like it was a hard guess.
" Hay Mint you should come see Starling's back"
Out of the crowd of cats Starling saw the gray pelt of his sister Mint approaching him.
" Oh my Starling it's you where were you?" Mint meowed.
" I got separated from the kin when we were fleeing it took me all day trying to get back i only got back in the middle of last night"
" Nettle and Kite on the Thunderclan patrol"
" Ya" Mint responded.
Out of the five kits of Raven and Roach Starling always felt like he was the weakness he was had never managed to climb up the kins ranks unlike his siblings Raven and Roach hadn't given much attention to him since he started his training.
" Alright here we are" Raven pointed to a old Twoleg nest in front of them.
" Put the rabbits down" Raven meowed the cats caring rabbits padded up in front of the abandoned Twoleg nest and placed the rabbit's on the grass.
" Now what do we do?' Starling meowed.
" Now we wait" Elephant replied padding back up beside Starling.
Starling crouched tensely his eyes focused on the bushes' behind the abandoned Twoleg nest. Suddenly the bush's began to rustle intensely.
" There he is Shadowmaw in the flesh"
Finchsong's point of view
" Anything Finchsong" Lilyheart meowed " Nope nothing" Finchsong sighed in response.
Finchsong was on the evening hunting patrol with Twigbranch, Molewhisker, Snaptooth, Lilyheart, Lionblaze, Flipclaw, Bayblossom, and Stormcloud and so far all of them had come back with nothing.
" Nothing we've been hunting all evening and we've found absolutely nothing" Lilyheart sighed " Lionblaze took Twigbranch, Molewhisker, Bayblossom and Snaptooth down to the lake shore maybe there gonna have better luck down there" Flipclaw meowed poking his head out from the snow.
" Should head down to the lake shore clearly there's nothing here" Stormcloud meowed as he padded over to join them.
" Agreed" Lilyheart meowed.
" I second that" Flipclaw meowed .
" Me two" Finchsong replied.
As Finchsong followed the others down to the lake shore she looked around the forest it looked completely barren in the near dead of Leafbare the trees hung like corpses in the thick snow the lake up ahead completely frozen over it was hard to believe it would one day return to the bright vibrant state she had known in Greenleaf.
Finchsong reached the edge of the lake the slick shiny surface of the ice reflecting in the moon light she could make out the golden tabby and white pelt of Bayblossom.
" Bayblossom" the tom turned his head to meet Finchsong's gaze " You hade any better luck down here"
" I mean Molewhisker and me found these three toads hiding under the snow" Bayblossom held up three toads in his paw " Snaptooth and Lionblaze caught a snake and Twigbranch even found a turtle"
" Sure did" Twigbranch bounded over holding up the large shelled creature in her jaws.
" Iv never tasted turtle before wander what it taste like " Finchsong thought to herself she couldn't imagine it tasted pleasant especially because it was almost entirely shell.
" We should get back to camp we've been hunting all evening" Lionblaze meowed.
" What we can't go back we've barley caught any pray we can't go back to camp with just these" Stormcloud complained.
" Stormcloud i admire you're persistence but with that wolf around the lake we can't be taking risks like that" Lionblaze resounded.
" But Lionblaze"
" No but's about it" Lionblaze cutoff Stormcloud in a stern voice.
" Now lets get going" Lionblaze signaled with his tail heading back towards the direction of camp.
As she walked back to camp Finchsong could feel the bitter cold of night settling in.
" Great Starclan this isn't gonna feed the clan" Bayblossom spoke concerned beside her.
" Don't worry Bayblossom I'm sure the other evening patrol found pray to" Finchsong did her best to sound not worried but she knew what Bayblossom was saying was right this wasn't gonna feed Thunderclan.
" Finchsong don't lie look how fin all of us look how long can we keep doing this for" Bayblossom meowed before letting out a sigh.
" I don't know how long i can keep doing this for"
" What? what are you talking about Bayblossom"
" I just this doesn't feel right i know the life of a warrior isn't easy but i don't want to keep living like this" Bayblossom's yellow eyes sunk to the ground.
" Are you talking about leaving the Thunderclan?"
" Maybe"
" But what about Myrtleflower and you're parents? don't you care about them"
" Of course i care about them but i need to live a life that i want to live there's more to life then just Thunderclan"
Finchsong let the worlds role around in her head " There's so much more to life then just Thunderclan"
Starling's point of view
" There he is Shadowmaw in the flesh" Darkness meowed. Starling tensed up as the rustling in the bushes grew louder and closer suddenly a pair of piercing yellow eyes cut threw the darkness.
Steeping out of the bush's and into the moonlight Starling got his first good look at Shadowmaw and he lived up to every expectation that Starling had of what a wolf looked like.
He had the appearance a fox but with mottled gray and tan fur and far larger then any fox even any dog that Starling had ever seen a large imposing pair of jaws stood out the most to Starling anything caught in those jaws was in for a bad time.
Licking it's lips the wolf bent down to sniff the rabbit corpse.
With a flick of her tail Raven Roach and Viper rushed out from the clearing and snatched the rabbit corpus from under Shadowmaw's feet.
" Now what do we do" Starling meowed
" Now you run idiot" Roach rushed past Starling into the thicket. Starling didn't need to be told by his father twice Starling instantly took of into the woods with a loud yip Shadowmaw charged into the woods after them the sound of thicket crashing behind Starling told him Shadowmaw was in hot pursuit.
" Scatter then regroup at the abandoned Twoleg nest!" Raven screeched instinctively Starling veered of to the right into a thick clump of birch trees.
A loud snarl came from behind Starling clearly the wolf had followed the cats in his direction " Mousedung Starling cursed.
The paw steps behind Starling got louder and louder Starling saw Cardinal and Birmingham rush past him into a thicket.
" Great Twoleg place he's gaining on me!" Starling panicked he looked in front of him was a large alder tree. Starling lunged forward digging his claws into the bark he pulled himself upwards out of reach of Shadowmaw's jaws.
Below him Starling could feel the wind as Shadowmaw rushed passed below him bound for the Thunderclan camp from his perch in the alder tree Starling could make out the pelts of Sleekwhisker's patrol heading for the Thunderclan camp.
Once Shadowmaw was out of sight Starling leapt down from the tree and headed back for the abandoned Twoleg nest.
" Starling there you are" Elephant meowed as she emerged from a the crowed of cats already gathered
" Great Starclan that Shadowmaw sure is something else" Starling mowed
" I know with him on our side Thunderclan we'll never know what hit them" Elephant meowed.
" Ya but how do you now Shadowmaw is exactly on are side?" Starling meowed.
" It's simply" Darkness meowed.
" If we keep bringing him food then he'll know when we come around that will bring him food and if we give him the food after the fight he will figure out that he needs to work for his food if we keep this up will earn his trust eventually"
" Everyone quite" Raven mowed loudly
" When we arrive at Skyclan's camp attack then retreat then come back again for another attack" Raven explained.
" If you're life is in danger try and escape we need all the warriors we can get"
" Everybody move out" Raven gave a flick with her tail before bounding into the bushes Roach and Viper following closely behind her.
" Ready Starling" Elephant meowed.
" Ready as I'm ever gonna be"
Flamestorm's point of view
" Raw I'm the big bad wolf" Waspkit meowed in a squeaky voice.
" Get away you big bad wolf Thunderclan has no place for stinky wolfs like you" Aspenkit shrieked before tackling his sister the two kits went rolling around in the snow nearby Cherryfall and Daisy sat outside the nursery smiling as they watched the kits play.
Flamestorm was watching them from the other side of the camp sitting inside of the warriors den tiding out his nest before bed.
Watching the kits play gave Flamestorm a underlying since of worry for the the two kits.
" There only three moons old there to young to understand what's going on" Flamestorm thought about how bad the pray shortage was it had been so long since Flamestorm had actually had a proper meal to himself instead of having to share it with two or three other cats.
Flamestorm's eyes darted over to the camp entrance the evening hunting patrol had returned to camp Flamestorm emerged from the warriors den to meet his sister.
" Finchsong" Finchsong turned her head from the conversation she was having with Bayblossom to meet Flamestorm.
" Oh hi Flamestorm" Finchsong meowed pleasantly.
" How was the hunting patrol?"
" Umm" Flamestorm could tell that it wasn't good " Um well" " That's all that you could find" Squirrelflight's concerned meow cut threw the clearing. Flamestorm looked over at the fresh kill the evening patrol had brought in it was almost nothing just three toads a snake and a turtle.
" That's not gonna feed the clan" Thornclaw hissed.
" This was all we could find" Lionblaze meowed in a stern voice " We spent all evening hunting for Thunderclan well you sat here doing nothing"
" Well accuse you high and mighty i was hunting on 3 patrols today" Thornclaw growled.
" Yes we now Thornclaw you never shut up about how many patrols you've been on" Lionblaze growled.
" Quite the bickering you two the elders are trying to sleep" Bramblestar growled in a stern voice.
" Everybody in Thunderclan is doing there best to hunt during these trying times useless fighting is not gonna help" Bramblestar meowed
" Now it's late all of you should be getting to bed and get a good night's" Before Bramblestar could finish his sentence Flamestorm's attention was drawn to a rabbit flying into the middle of camp.
" What in Starclan's name" Bramblestar cursed just then 2 more rabbits came flying into the center of Thunderclan camp.
" It's a sign from Starclan" Bumblestripe meowed in joy.
Flamestorm and Bumblestripe padded over to investigate none of the rabbits moved all three were clearly dead.
" Um hay Flamestorm" Bumblestripe meowed.
" Ya what is it?"
" Do you that" Bumblestripe replied.
" Hear what?"
" It kind of sound like thunder coming from under the ground"
Flamestorm turned his ears Flamestorm realized heard whatever Bumblestripe was hearing it sounded like a low rumble coming from the ground.
" Bumblestripe! Flamestorm! get back here" Rosepetal's terrified shriek came from behind Flamestorm the black tom turned his head to see Rosepetal's terrified expression amber eyes wide with horror.
Before he could do anything a large creature crashed through the camp wall.
When Flamestorm turned his head to see what made the noise his blood ran cold standing in the middle of Thunderclan camp was the wolf.
