Wrenpaw's point of view
"Great going back there Wrenpaw" Mintfur congratulated Wrenpaw as the golden tabby cleaned herself in the snow.
"Oh no thank you Mintfur for keeping that tom down for me"
"Please Wrenpaw it's no problem"
With the Kin gone the Skyclan patrol had stayed in the Shadowclan camp to help with the clean up effort and because Hawkwing wanted to discus The Kin situation with Tigerstar and Cloverfoot.
Wrenpaw and Mintfur were helping to repair the bramble wall around the nursery with Whorlpelt and Shadowsight.
Nearby the nursery Snaketooth was watching over Newtkit, Badgerkit, and Lavenderkit as they played in the snow well Yarrowleaf was washing off her newborn kits Chestnutkit and Morningkit.
"Yarrowleaf! Yarrowleaf! are you and the kits ok!" Strikestone rushed over to comfort his mate and kits.
"Yes yes Strikestone were fine"
"Don't worry I'm here you Chestnutkit and Morningkit are going to be just fine"
"There there kittens papas home its going to be okay" Strikestone brushed Chestnutkit and Morningkit's pelt"
Wrenpaw watched the scene slightly concerned by how Strikestone was borderline manic about keeping his family safe even when there was no danger.
"Sorry to be rude but can I ask what that's about" Mintfur turned to Whorlpelt and Snaketooth.
Snaketooth let out a long sigh "Strikestone has been like this for a while now he's been supper worried about Shadowclan since The Kin showed up"
"Why?" Mintfur asked.
"He's Sleekwhisker's brother and he stayed with Shadowclan well she went with Darktail he blames himself for what happened to Sleekwhisker and the other Shadowclan cats who died under Darktail's terror" Whorlpelt replied quietly.
"Ya his lost both his parents and siblings he doesn't want to lose anybody else that he loves" Shadowsight added in.
"That's terrible poor tom's sounds like he's lost so much" Mintfur meowed.
"I know what it's like to want to keep your kits safe but Yarrowleaf's told me that she thinks he takes it to far" Snaketooth responded.
well the older warriors continued there conversation Wrenpaw couldn't stop thinking about how Strikestone was Sleekwhisker's brother. Wrenpaw guessed she just had never though about if Sleekwhisker had any living relatives from what she heard all the Shadowclan apprentices from the Darktail's rebellion were dead or Sleekwhisker.
"Wrenpaw there you are" Gullswoop meowed as the white she-cat padded up with Spireclaw.
"Did you want to tells us about the inside help that Skyclan has"
Wrenpaw's fur sat on edge at the two Shadowclan warriors standing right next to her.
"Oh ya that well a Kin cat got stuck in our camp during the last attack and with his help we were able to find out that The Kin were attacking Shadowclan, Riverclan and Thunderclan"
"There attacking Thunderclan and Riverclan? that must be were Shadowmaw went?" Spireclaw pondered
"Ya I'm pretty sure Frondwhisker has a patrol along the Riverclan border today she should ask if Riverclan's scene Shadowmaw" Gullswoop added.
"If I were to wager he would probably be in Thunderclan there the strongest clan so they'd want there best fighter there"
"Do ever ither of you know what Hawkwing and Tigerstar are talking about!" Wrenpaw asked.
"Unfortunately not but it probably has something to do with the Kin" Spireclaw replied.
"Let all cats from Skyclan and Thunderclan gather around the pine branch for a joint meeting" Tigerstar's voice rang through the camp. Wrenpaw followed Spireclaw and Gullswoop down towards the pine branch the Shadowclan warriors stalked through the crowed of cats and sat next to Antfur and Grassheart Wrenpaw decided to walk around and try to find her clan mates Wrenpaw saw her parents sitting beside each other in the clearing.
"Wrenpaw over here!" Wrenpaw heard Nectarsong's voice call out from the crowed looking around Wrenpaw saw the brown she-cat sitting next to Rootspring and Gravelnose. Wrenpaw looked between her parents and Nectarsong Wrenpaw decided to go sit next to Nectarsong her parent's wouldn't mind right?
"There you are Wrenpaw" Rootspring meowed "how are you are you hurt"
"No I'm fine just a few scratches and bruises" Wrenpaw laughed.
"What about you guys looks like Gravelnose got a bad injury on his paw" Wrenpaw pointed to the tan toms front paw which was wrapped up in cobwebs.
"Oh I pretty sure I sprained my paw when me and my dad jump out of a tree at a weird angle Fidgetflake said all have to take it easy for a quarter moon"
"Cats of Shadowclan and Skyclan the joint meeting will now begin" Tigerstar announced from his perch on the pine branch with Cloverfoot and Hawkwing.
" I'm know that your all well aware of the danger that the Kin poses to Shadowclan and all the other clans. Many of you lived through the original Kin annexation of Shadowclan many of us lost friends and family that we still miss to this day. So with the danger to us me Cloverfoot Leafstar and Hawkwing have decided to hold an emergency gathering here in Shadowclan camp"
A loud murmur rippled through both clans Wrenpaw herself was taken aback from the announcement.
"Emergency gathering did you even know that was possible?" Flowerstem asked Lightleap.
"Nope I've never heard of it I wouldn't be surprised if my dad just mad the word up right now" Lightleap replied.
"Leafstar will be on her way to Shadowclan camp with the rest of Skyclan and Thunderclan" Hawkwing announced "until then we will stay here in Shadowclan"
"Tawnypelt take Stonewing, Berryheart, Whorlpelt, Cinnamontail, and Flaxfoot to invite Riverclan. Dovewing take Sparrowtail, Conefoot, Blazefire, Hollowspring, and Hopwhisker to invite Windclan" Cloverfoot announced both she cats gave the Shadowclan deputy a curt nod before going to fetch the warriors for there patrols.
"Until the other clans arrive Skyclan make yourselves comfortable meeting dismissed" Tigerstar leapt of the pine branch followed by Hawkwing and Cloverfoot.
"Well do you guys want to do anything?" Nectarsong asked.
"I would like to look around Shadowclan camp I've never seen it before" Rootspring replied.
"Ya me two maybe get to now the Shadowclan warriors" Wrenpaw added.
"I'd second that" Gravelnose added.
With that the for Skyclan cats set off across Shadowclan camp.
Appleclaw's point of view
" Alright that should do it" Appleclaw huffed as she pushed the last of the snow out of the Windclan camp.
With Windclan's camp being a scoop in the moor snow piled in very easy in Leafbare which meant the warriors had to remove it regularly and the recent snowfall meant that Appleclaw and Woodbeam were on snow removal duty with Slightfoot and Leaftail.
"Thanks Appleclaw, Woodbeam" Leaftail gave Appleclaw and her sister a curt nod as him and Slightfoot padded back into camp.
"Appleclaw! Woodbeam!" the yellow tabby she-cat jumped in surprise as Songpaw poked her head up beside Applepaw.
"Holy Starclan Songpaw don't do that again"
"Sorry I just have something really important to tell you Brindlewing and Hootwhisker are talking to each other by the medicine den and its really important and I just wanted to tell you because it's really important" Songpaw blurted out.
"Brindlewing and Hootwhisker are talking to each other?" Woodbeam asked excitedly.
"Yes Fernstripe showed me come on" Woodbeam and Appleclaw followed Songpaw into the Windclan camp.
"Songpaw Appleclaw Woodbeam there!" Fernstripe pointed other to the medicine den.
"What are they talking about?" Appleclaw asked
"Quite this is the best part" Fernstripe hushed.
"Wait so the reason you've been trying to talk to me this hole time because you've been interested in me" Hootwhisker meowed.
"Yes Hootwhisker holy Starclan I don't understand how you didn't notice this earlier" Brindlewing sighed.
"So is that a yes?" Hootwhisker asked.
"Yes Hootwhisker oh Starclan yes!"
"Lets go tell Windclan" Hootwhisker yelled extatically
"Okay slow down" Brindlewing replied.
Applepaw sat watching with Fernstripe, Songpaw, and Woodbeam cringing slightly at her sister and Hootwhisker's awkwardness but in the end still happy for Brindlewing.
"Songpaw Fernstripe I swear to Starclan that you better not tell anyone about this" Appleclaw snarled.
"Yes Appleclaw" Fernstripe nodded concerningly.
"Got it" Songpaw added.
"Uh hello excuse me Harestar? it's Tawnypelt from Shadowclan Tigerstar sent me here because he want's to talk to you Tawnypelt's meow cut through the Windclan camp all of Windclan turned there heads to see the small Shadowclan patrol entering the Windclan camp.
"Shadowclan hu wonder why there here?" Oatclaw asked.
"Don't know Tawnypelt did say that Tigerstar wanted to talk to Harestar about something?" Crouchfoot added.
"Then why wouldn't he just come himself?"
"Mabey he's busy leaders do have a lot to do"
Appleclaw watched as Tawnypelt and Harestar whispering to each other by the leaders den.
"It's got to be pretty important for Shadowclan to trek all the way across Riverclan to get here" Fernstripe meowed.
"Do you think that it has something to do with the Kin?" Woodbeam asked. Appleclaw realized that her sister was probably right there wasn't really much else that could be that important for Tigerstar to send a Shadowclan patrol all the way to Windclan.
"Can all cats of Windclan gather around Tallrock for a clan meeting" Harestar announced Appleclaw, Woodbeam, Songpaw, and Fernstripe padded down from the medicine to Tallrock with the rest of Windclan Larkwing padded out of the nursery next to Crouchfoot with Runningkit and Owlkit by her side Gorsetail and Whiskernose clearly woken up from a nap stretched there legs and walked groggily to Tallrock.
"Cats of Windclan it has come to my attention that Tigerstar and Leafstar have organized an emergency gathering at the Shadowclan camp tonight, Tawnypelt has come to inform me that everyone in Windclan is invited to the gathering"
"Everybody meet by the camp entrance we will be leaving shortly" Harestar said as he leapt off of Tallrock Appleclaw followed Songpaw, Fernstripe, and Woodbeam to the camp entrance.
"Were going to Shadowclan that's fun" Woodbeam said
"Ya I've never seen the Shadowclan territory the most that I've heard it's marshy and full of pin trees" Songpaw added.
Appleclaw began to think about the gathering if all the clans were there that meant that Wrenpaw would be there it be great to see Wrenpaw again as well as Flutterpaw getting to see the Riverclan apprentices again.
"Hu! oh my Starclan Fernstripe if Skyclan's there then we can find out more about Starling the Skyclan Kin spy!" Songpaw squealed.
"Oh my Starclan your right Songpaw! I'm going to have to ask Reedclaw and Dewspring about it when I see them" Fernstripe added.
"Then were gonna have to"
"Get Gorsetail to ask Fallowfern about it" Fernstripe cut off Songpaw.
"Oh my Starclan that's what I was going to say" Appleclaw laughed at the two Windclan gossipers as they exited the Windclan camp and headed towards Shadowclan.
Flamestorm's point of view
Flamestorm padded somberly through the Thunderclan forest. The forest felt bizarre or off Flamestorm really didn't know why it felt like that he had walked through the Thunderclan forest more times then he could count. But with the Kin now owning Thunderclan's territory it felt foreign like a kin cat or Shadowmaw was going to jump out and attack at any moment.
Leafstar had invited Thunderclan to a emergency gathering at Shadowclan camp were they would discus the situation with the Kin. Flamestorm was kind of excited he had never gotten to see Shadowclan camp and getting to see the rest of the apprentices again would be fun. " I just wish Finchsong was here to see it"
"Were just gonna stop and here at Skyclan camp so we can get the rest of Skyclan" Leafstar announced as the Skyclan came into view.
"Hey Flamestorm did you here about the spy in Skyclan?" Shellfur asked Flamestorm.
"Oh? uh I think I heard something about that"
"Palesky told me all about it his name is Starling he was the one that found out about the Kin attack on the Thunderclan today"
"Well I suppose that I should probably go and thank him if it weren't for him then all of us would have been captured by the Kin"
"Do you know were Starling is?"
"He's right over there talking with Squirrelflight" Shellfur pointed to a spotted ginger tom talking with Squirrelflight and Ivypool.
"Ha excuse me Starling"
The spotted ginger tom turned his head revealing his wide amber eyes.
"Hello yes I'm Starling what's your name?" Starling asked.
"I'm Flamestorm from Thunderclan it's nice to met you, I just wanted to say thank you so much for telling Skyclan about the kin's plans Thunderclan would have been captured if it wasn't for you"
"Oh ya I've have lots of Thunderclan cats tell me that it's not really a big deal I just did what Skyclan told me and I prevented The Kin from causing to much damage so it's all good" Starling replied Flamestorm could tell that Starling seemed uneasy about all the attention Thunderclan was giving him.
"Everybody were leaving for Shadowclan" Leafstar signaled with her tail the rest of Thunderclan and Skyclan following behind her.
"Hey Flamestorm you can come walk with us if you want" Shellfur meowed Flamestrom looked up to see him walking beside Eaglewing.
"How are you doing Flamestorm"
"Oh well uh I'm doing okay I guess could be doing better you know with The Kin and Finchsong being gone"
"Ya I now that's not easy I remember how I felt when I lost Stemleaf it felt like something in me went missing something that I can't get back he was the one of my closest friends since we were kits" Shellfur meowed somberly.
"It feels like are family dynamic will never be the same mom still can't bring up his name without getting sad and dad doesn't like to talk about him I think he's bottled up most of his emotions about it" Eaglewing remarked Grimley.
"And now with Plumstone and dad being missing with the Kin it feels even stranger I've tried talking to mom about it and she won't speak to me at all" Shellfur added sadly.
Flamestorm decided to speak up "Its a horrible feeling you know having one of your closet friend since kithood being taken from you so suddenly with no hope of getting them back"
"No hope of getting them back? I wouldn't say that's true" Shellfur said amusingly.
"But its true Myrtleflower said Finchsong and Bayblossom were trapped in cages and eaten by Twoleg monsters like what Graystripe said happened to him when the old forest was destroyed" Flamestorm replied.
"But there not dead are they I'm sure Myrtleflower would help you try and find them she did lose her brother and friend to" Shellfur replied
"I know that the odds seem small but the odds of us getting Plumstone and Thornclaw back are slim to but that doesn't mean me and Shellfur aren't going to try" Eaglewing added.
The idea began to run around in Flamestorm's mind after all why not go looking for Finchsong and Bayblossom with Thunderclan being on the brink of falling apart the only thing keeping him in Thunderclan was Sparkpelt and she would be supportive of his idea and Myrtleflower wouldn't really care what Dewnose would think about it.
Flamestorm had made up his mind after this gathering he was going to ask Myrtleflower if she wanted to go look for there siblings.
Finchsong's point of view
"One! two! three!" Finchsong yelled as she slammed her body into the monsters mouth only for nothing to happen.
"Mousedung!" Finchsong cursed she tried to break the monsters mouth open multiple times only to no avail.
"Finchsong just give it up you not going to get the monsters mouth open your just going to get yourself hurt" Bayblossom meowed quietly.
"Well maybe if you were helping instead of just sitting there complaining then we just might get this monster to open its mouth" Finchsong snapped.
"Okay okay I'm sorry I won't complaining about it again" Bayblossom screeched sheepishly getting up beside Finchsong and began to try and ram the mouth open.
"Sheesh Bayblossom I didn't mean it like that"
"No it's fine your right I should be helping you"
Suddenly Finchsong felt the ground below her shift.
"Quite!" Finchsong hissed " I think the monster stopped moving"
Finchsong could here the characteristic loud steps and gibberish speaking of a Twoleg walking outside the monster. A loud rustling from outside the monsters mouth.
"Bayblossom I think that the Twoleg is opening the monsters mouth" Finchsong and Bayblossom tensed up as the monsters mouth continued to rustle.
"When the mouth opens get ready to run! got it?"
"Got it" Bayblossom replied.
A sudden wave of brightness illuminated the the absolute darkness Finchsong closed her eyes from the sudden light. The Twoleg let out a loud cry as he saw Finchsong and Bayblossom reaching out his big hands to grab Bayblossom.
"Run Bayblossom now!" Finchsong shrieked as she rushed out of the monster Finchsong didn't even bother looking around as she rushed across the asphalt. Finally stopping behind her she could see Bayblossom rush out of the monster dodging the Twoleg's hands and sprinting after her. The Twoleg let out a weird cry as he chased after them.
Finchsong and Bayblossom rushed across the asphalt with the Twoleg close behind them looking around Finchsong saw a large wooden fence nearby.
"Bayblossom there over the fence!"
"I'm coming! I'm coming!"
Finchsong turned to the left and jumped onto the top of the fence followed by Bayblossom behind him the to cats leapt over the fence and into a large open yard of overgrown concrete.
Behind them the Twoleg let out a loud grown followed by a series of yells unable to get over the fence.
"We did it we did it Bayblossom we did it! were free!" Finchsong and Bayblossom both cheered.
"Well now what do we do?" Finchsong asked.
"We should probably figure out were we are" Bayblossom replied.
"Good idea" Finchsong began to look around the two were in the middle of the Twoleg place south of the lake in the a large opening between a pair of large Twoleg nests filled with old cracked concert overran with old dead plants and snow.
"Well I think this is as good a place as you could find in Twoleg place" Finchsong meowed as she looked up at the darkening evening sky.
"Ya I agree we should probably huddle down hear for the night and try to find are way out of here in the morning" Bayblossom agreed.
"How about I dig a den in the snow well you get some bedding from those old plants"
"Ok just be carful we don't know were The Kin's base is and last thing we need is to run into them"
Finchsong began to look around the concrete trying to find the best dead plant matter that she could find picking out an assortment of dry grasses and dead weeds to use for the bedding. Once Finchsong had found enough bedding she padded over to the snowbank nestled up against the wall of the Twoleg nest were Bayblossom was digging out a deep pit in the snow.
"Nice job Bayblossom"
"Thanks"
Finchsong padded into the den placing the dead grass bedding into the den.
"Well it ain't much but it can't be worse then the dens we had back on the island" Finchsong joked.
"Ya anything's better then those awful things" Bayblossom added as they padded into the den for the night.
