Note: In this chapter I mix dragon tales characters with real life problems like criminals and guns
WARNING: Extreme Action and GUNS in a kid's show don't say I didn't warn you
Chapter 4: Hostage Situation
Emmy and Max where drawing in the playroom
It had been a few weeks since the incident with the cave and both had forgotten mostly about it and hadn't talked about it since
They where both drawing pictures they planed to show to their parents
Emmy's was a picture of Cassie and Max's was a picture of Ord
"Pass the red Emmy" said Max putting his hand out
"What for?" asked Emmy handing him the red crayon
"Ord isn't red" said Emmy as Max began drawing with the red
"It's for the dragon berries" said Max holding up his picture of Ord with some dragon berries
"Yours is looking great Emmy" said Max holding up her half completed picture of Cassie in a field with some yellow flowers in it
"Yeah I think I'll show it to Enrique when he gets here" said Emmy grabbing the picture back and returning to drawing with a pink crayon
"When is he coming over?" asked Max trying to get Ord's yellow dragon badge perfect with his unsharpened crayon
"Mom said he would be here later after lunch" said Emmy switching to a green crayon
Just then they heard their mother's voice call from outside the room
"Max Emmy does ether one of you want to come with me on some errands? I need help carrying the groceries to the car" she asked
"I'll come" yelled Emmy back
"Why?" asked Max wondering why she would want to miss drawing
"Because when I go to the store with her she usually lets me get a candy bar" said Emmy running out the door and down the hall
"Hey get one for me too!" yelled Max after her
"Ok!" she yelled back from down the hall
Later
Enrique came over a couple of minutes later
"Hey Max what's up?" he asked coming into the room he then looked around
"Where's Emmy?" he asked seeing she was not there
"She went to the store with our mommy she'll be back soon hopefully, it doesn't take that long to do errands and she's suppose to bring me a candy bar from the store" Max said continuing his drawing which was almost finished
"Oh, so what are you doing?" Enrique asked looking at Max's picture
"I'm drawing Ord so I can show it to my parents" Max said looking down at his picture looking for mistakes
"I should have guessed that from the dragon berries" said Enrique looking at the red dots
"Can I join you? I want to draw Zak and Wheezie" he said as he sat down next to Max
"Sure" said Max handing Enrique a piece of paper and purple and green crayons.
"So where did Emmy and your mom have to go?" asked Enrique drawing Wheezie with the purple crayon
"She usually goes to the grocery store, the library, and the bank that's in the city" said Max putting a few finishing touches on his picture
"The city, I went their before, my parents don't take me there a lot since they say it's dangerous" said Enrique using the green crayon now
"Dangerous? How can it be dangerous?" asked Max
"I don't know" said Enrique turning back to his picture
Main City Bank Lobby
Meanwhile Emmy and her mother had finished most of the errands and were now walking inside the city bank
Emmy was always amazed at how big all the buildings in the city were, and the bank was no exception, it was a huge building
The main lobby where the people came in was enormous and there were always a lot of people in the bank going to and from the tellers' counters that where lined up along the walls
The walls were painted a dark blue color and their was a few desks and potted plants scattered around the lobby floor
Emmy walked in and looked around at all the people going about their business amazed at how big the building was
Her mother led her over to one of the side teller areas
The tellers where always behind a desk that had a barred window in front of it
Emmy never understood why they had the bars
"Emmy hold on this will only take a minute" said Emmy's mother who then turned to the female teller behind the desk
Emmy looked around the bank as her mom was talking to the teller
She saw a lot of people, a lot of them in business suits
But she also noticed a few that she thought where dressed weird
It wasn't that they where wearing ordinary clothes but they where wearing heavy coats and vests and they where all wearing the same color, black
Plus some of them had a black duffle bag with them
Also Emmy noticed that their where a lot off people dressed like that all around the bank like they where a group
All of them seemed tense and Emmy noticed the kept looking around the bank like they were watching everyone especially the tellers
Just then Emmy saw a small black object fall out of one of their coats and then they all looked nervous
Emmy could sense something was wrong and reached up and pulled on her moms arm trying to get her attention
"Not now Emmy" her mom just said turning back to the teller
She turned back to the man that had something fall out of his coat
He had now put on a ski mask
Emmy looked around, so had all the others
The man then picked up the black thing off the ground
Emmy saw it was a small crooked piece of black metal
Emmy realized what it was
A Gun! (9mm to be exact)
The man pointed the gun in the air and fired once
Emmy saw a bright yellow flash come out of the gun along with a bang than made her cover her ears
"THIS IS A RAID!" the man yelled out now that he had everyone's attention
Suddenly an alarm went off and everyone started running toward the door
"Emmy hurry!" said her mom pulling Emmy towards the door through the crowd of
panicked people
"Mom wait" said Emmy desperately trying to keep up with her mother's frantic pace
Emmy accidentally let go of her moms hand as someone shoved her out of the way to get through to the exit
"Emmy? Emmy!" her mother called out unable to find Emmy among the crowd of people rushing for the door
Just then she was forced through the door by the force of the people running for their lives
Emmy looked for her mom but couldn't find her anywhere
"Mom! MOM! Where are you?" called out Emmy desperately but couldn't find her
Just then she was grabbed from behind by someone and couldn't break free
She looked to see the man with the gun earlier and his friends now with black and brown long guns (AK-47s) where now holding her and some other people at gun point while the rest of the crowd cleared out
"No body move or the girl dies!" yelled the man at the tellers and the guards
"Put your guns down! NOW!" yelled the man at the security guards
They put their pistols down slowly and carefully
"Now you get out of the cages" he said to the tellers, they got out from the protective cages and went into the main room
"You two go back there and fill the bags with money and hurry we only got four minutes before police can get here" the man said to two other robbers
They went back behind the teller counters and began emptying the cash drawers, just then they heard sirens outside the bank
"What! That's impossible the police should take at least six minutes to get here" said the man in panic
"What do we do now?" asked one of the robbers holding the other people at gun point
"I'll show them we mean business" the man said pulling Emmy toward the door
Emmy saw that their was a lot of cops outside the bank and a big crowd too
"PUT THE GUN DOWN AND LET THE GIRL GO" said a cop over a loud speaker
"BACK OFF OR ELSE THE GIRL GETS IT!" yelled the man raising the gun barrel right to Emmy's head
Emmy cowered as the weapon was right at her head
She just wanted to wake up in bed and find out this was all a bad dream, but it was not, she had to continue this nightmare until it was over
The man then dragged Emmy back into the bank
"I'll be in the back figuring out a way to fix this mess, don't let anyone do something stupid" said the man
The rest of the robbers agreed and the man pulled Emmy down the hall into the back offices
Emmy and Max's House
Meanwhile at Emmy and Max's house Max heard sirens outside and went to go look at what was happening out the play room window
He saw his mom being lead inside by some police officers
"OH NO!" yelled Max at the sight of his mom crying a lot and his dad coming out to meet them
"What is it?" asked Enrique worried as he came over to the window and looked outside
"Oh no! What happened? Where's Emmy!" asked Enrique
Max ran out the door and down the hall toward the living room where he saw his parents talking to some police officers
They all stopped talking when he came in
"What happened? Where's Emmy!" he asked urgently
A police officer came over to him
"Your sister is being held prisoner by some bad men at the bank they didn't want to get caught so they took her and some other people prisoners so we wouldn't arrest them" the officer said in a gentle tone trying to break it to him gently and in terms he could understand
Max began to cry
"Don't worry we're going to do everything we can to talk it out and get the men to let your sister go, she'll be just fine don't worry" the officer said in a comforting tone
"Max go to the playroom with Enrique and stay there we need to talk to the nice police officers" said Max's dad
Max could tell they didn't want him to hear what they were going to talk about
"Ok" said Max in a sad tone
Max left the room and closed the door
"What's going on?" asked Enrique in the hallway
"Emmy's been taken prisoner by some bad guys at the bank, but the cops say their going to get them to let her go" said Max in a urgent tone
"Will she be alright?" asked Enrique with a worried look on his face
"I don't know" said Max
Max then decided to see what the cops where doing so he opened the door a little to see inside the living room where his parents were talking to a police officer
"So how does it look?" asked Max's dad as him mom held onto him
"It's not good the robbers have high powered weapons and from what we hear the leader has your daughter somewhere in the back, we may be able to save the people in the lobby with a raid but since we don't know where your daughter is he can kill her before we can get to him" said the officer grimly
Max's mom cried into his dad's shirt
"We can only hope negotiations work, but this man is supposedly very ruthless and he might kill her before we can get him to talk, I'm ……..Sorry but we………. might not be able to save her" he said grimly
His mom burst into tears
"Oh no" said Max with tears dripping down his face looking away from the door
"No! It can't be! It just can't" he said kneeling on the floor crying very hard in the hallway
"Come on Max" said Enrique helping Max to his feet and walking him to the play room
Play Room
Enrique walked max back to the playroom and helped him into a seat
He was trying to remain strong even though he was also very sad
"We must be able to do something" said Max putting his head down on the table tears still in his eyes
"But what? We're only kids we can't do anything to help her" said Enrique
Max rested his head onto of his arms and said "I guess you're right"
He then looked at the pictures they had drawn earlier of the dragons Emmy's was only half finished
He thought of her drawing it this morning thinking that may be the last time he would see her alive
He also thought about how they wouldn't all get to go to Dragon Land any more
Then he thought about how Cassie and the other dragons would take it
Cassie would be so sad
Then he thought if only the dragons could help us then we could save Emmy just like with the cave
'The Cave……' Max thought then it hit him.
