Chapter 1440
Identified And Targeted
Ed, Bob, Jim and Tom were directed to go to the backside of the specific building the man was spotted in. It was the third building, third floor and the fourth window from the south side. It was suspected he was a sniper and possibly the drone operator.
The building down a couple to the south was hit with missile fire the night of the initial raid two weeks ago. The building three to the north was taken down a week ago with another missile. Both contained snipers in them as was suspected there. Those engagements took place in the darkness. It was well before noon right now. A little more prudence was necessary.
John Henry issued a warning to them to watch for additional snipers in case it was a set up to draw them out.
Frank, Michael, Richard and Dan were directed to where the man with the blue car was located. He'd stopped orbiting and parked. It appeared he waited for things to play out.
John Henry knew he should've acted when Summer told him to. It wasn't a clear target at the time. John always wanted him to err on the side of caution so no innocent people were killed because of them.
John wasn't there right now. He was. He'd received input from the Young bunker and CamNet. He really wondered if his best advice wasn't sitting in the room with him right now.
"Are you going to enact a communications ban?" Summer asked.
John Henry didn't want to tip their hand.
"It might give away we're on to them." John Henry said.
Summer figured it was going to happen soon enough. She thought a little further along and what else might happen.
"They've already lost communication with the man in the van and the squad sent through the drainage system." Summer said. "They're all dead. You can prevent the man in the blue car from calling in additional resources."
John Henry already figured it was going to cause a problem.
"Maybe I'll do it." John Henry said.
He contacted CamNet and the Young bunker.
"We want two things to happen." Summer said. "We want the sniper and we want the man in the blue car. It's doubtful he'll lead us back to where he came from at this point once he realizes his teams are down, even without a communications ban."
Summer was sure there was more going on behind the scenes. She'd picked up enough information to know there were other operations being conducted against the enemy. She knew the only party who could possibly be responsible was CamNet. She understood the operations against the Syndicate, the Cartel and local crime organizations. There were Resistance related targets being taken down as well.
The only conclusion she could come to was CamNet decided to act on her own and not involve the Resistance was because she wanted to take some of the load off of Savannah and the rest of the team. She wondered if she should be sitting with CamNet right now instead of John Henry. She figured CamNet would involve her at some point if she wanted to. She didn't want to force the issue. She wanted some of the load taken off of Savannah and Young Allison as well.
John Henry could see Summer making calculations. He really wondered what they were about. He was sure she'd already planned several steps ahead from where the operation currently was now.
Savannah sent Sheila and Ally on their way. It appeared they were stocked with enough personnel for now.
Al, Cammy and Savannah now needed to decide which team to back up.
"I think both objectives are covered." Cammy said. "We should be able to return to the base."
Savannah frowned. She knew Cammy was looking out for her. She was also sure things were far from over. She wasn't even sure they'd gotten started yet.
"When this is finished we'll go back." Savannah said. "We just have two targets to take down. Let's do a drive by of the van and see if we spot anything out of place."
Cammy wondered how there could be since there'd been a drone orbiting it as they waited for someone to booby trap it. The small enemy drone was sitting behind some bushes alongside of the van. It was still a mystery.
Al started off in the direction of the van.
The Blackhawk turned west once it passed Downtown Los Angeles. It followed the route of the 101 freeway.
Cameron moved John and Young Jesse next to each other to look out the side window on the starboard side. She wanted to point out a few things as they passed.
John and Young Jesse exchanged a few quick glances. They'd been together a few times on the ship. Being so close right now made both of them think about it. Having Cameron behind them made it a little awkward, even though she was the one who'd orchestrated everything.
John offered to let Vanna and Allison have his spot so they could see too.
Cameron nodded.
Vanna and Allison each took a side next to Young Jesse and made her the 'meat' in the sandwich.
John spotted a familiar landmark.
"I see Griffith Park Observatory." John said.
Cameron went to correct him. She wanted to keep it simple.
"It's actually the Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park." Cameron whispered in his ear.
John thought his statement was accurate. He would add the word 'the'.
'It's the Griffith Park observatory.' John thought but kept his mouth closed. 'It would be the Griffith Park - observatory then.'
Young Jesse became visibly excited a few seconds later.
"I see the 'Hollywood sign'." Young Jesse said. "I wonder what it would be like to be an actress. Do you think there's an acting market for a girl from Down Under with Asian features and a wicked accent people from here tell me I have?"
Cameron smiled. She was very pleased how beautiful Young Jesse was. She thought all of the girls were beautiful. She thought all of them would make a wonderful actress.
"You would make an excellent actress." Cameron said. "Your beauty is beyond sufficient."
John looked around the interior of the Blackhawk. He could see he was surrounded by beauty.
"All the females here would make great actresses." John said. "Look at all the beauty here."
The girls all smiled. John just earned some 'bonus' points in their books. It would translate into some appreciation in bed if they could hook up again.
Ken slowed the helicopter down to the freeway speed so they could get a better and longer look.
Since Young Jesse mentioned about being an actress, Cameron thought about some of the local movie studios.
"We can overfly Universal Studios and Warner Bros. Studio." Cameron said. "They are all near here."
Earlier CamNet redirected all air traffic to depart north from Hollywood Burbank Airport and Van Nuys Airport. It was opposite the normal flight pattern. It was normally used during heavy winds from the northeast. They were usually referred to as Santa Ana winds.
Allison was a little surprised at what she viewed.
"I see a lot of attractions down there." Allison said.
Cameron saw she looked at Universal Studios.
"Universal Studios is heavily commercialized and more like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm or Magic Mountain." Cameron said. "Its theme is centered around movies and television."
Ken overflew Warner Bros. Studio just over a minute later.
John looked over at Cameron. For some reason a lot of what he saw was 'familiar' to him. He wasn't quite sure why. Some of the big sound stages reminded him of his high school.
Young Jesse perked up with the mention of Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Magic Mountain. Universal Studios and Magic Mountain seemed like they were the closest to the base. Maybe she could go there with Savannah one day.
Ken headed the Blackhawk for Van Nuys Airport. He wanted to do a complete servicing of the helicopter. Ned and Wes were at the hangar and would have transportation ready for the group.
They'd been busy doing things for CamNet between their jobs of assisting the Resistance. Technically they were Cameron's Terminators. They were the ones responsible for removing Leticia's bedroom items from the residence of her previous roommate. They hadn't run into much trouble to move everything to the new location of the other two human females.
They'd even stopped by a local boutique and picked up some evening dresses for the three human females. Everything was ready for them when they'd arrived. They made a stop by Cameron's base to pick up the appropriate jewelry for each one of them. Cameron had a vast selection she'd picked up 'on her off' the books operations. Precious stones and precious metals seemed to be something the criminals liked to acquire.
Claire checked the laundry with Jesse. The wash cycle was done. They put everything into the dryer.
Jesse was going to hang out in her room and make sure everything was nice for Gail.
Claire would double check her room again and make sure it was nice for Hanna. She also needed to give Jan some music instruction.
She hurried to her room and it looked clean and orderly. She glanced in Summer's room. It was spotless. She moved to the recreation room. Jan was already there and ready to go. She was a little self conscious about her timing.
"I apologize for being late." Claire said. "I needed to check the laundry."
Jan wasn't a stranger to doing the laundry.
"I can help you with it when we're done here." Jan said. "I always help my mom. She doesn't like to do the laundry."
Claire smiled. It sounded like another opportunity to rendezvous with Sarah. The laundry room was isolated. They could at least kiss in there if nothing else. No, they should be able to fondle each other as well. She thought Sarah was a good kisser. She could look into her beautiful green eyes then too since the lights would be on. She felt a little guilty with Jan right in front of her, but not much.
"You're a good girl." Claire said. "Help is always appreciated."
Jan could tell Claire was about to ask her about Summer. She didn't want to lie to her. Summer already prepared her. Summer told her to think of it as an 'infiltration' mission. Sometimes she would need to 'spin' a story as part of her cover. She knew if she couldn't do it in front of the ones she loved and pull it off, it was probably not going to 'sell' with the target or enemy. She would try a little deflection first.
"Can you show me how to tune this?" Jan asked.
Claire smiled. She was pleased with Jan's interest.
"Sure, I can do it." Claire said. "Tuned instruments are very important. This is what we'll do first…."
There was something churning in the back of Savannah's mind about everything they were involved with.
"When we checked the location out, the Gray's knew someone was there." Savannah said. "It means they've been watching it."
Cammy nodded.
"Yes." Cammy said.
Savannah thought back two weeks ago.
"We were always under the impression there was a third group involved and the Syndicate triggered everything early when they came to attack." Savannah said.
Cammy was aware of the chain of events.
"Yes." Cammy said.
Savannah considered their last encounter.
"Last week we dealt with at least one group of the three which was associated with whatever happened there." Savannah said.
Cammy wasn't sure where things were going. She wanted to make sure the others would know about what was being discussed. She felt it was important.
"Yes." Cammy said.
Cammy made sure the transmission from Savannah made it to the Command Center, CamNet and the Young Bunker.
Savannah didn't believe they knew who all the players were. All they knew was the playing field.
"What if there are two or even three groups which still have this place under observation?" Savannah asked. "We don't know if the drone, the sniper, the man in the blue car and the five men who came in the van are all from the same group. We could be dealing with three different groups or more, if the anti-Metal group is involved somehow."
Cammy looked worried. She understood Savannah's implication.
"Things may not be almost over. They may just be getting started." Cammy said.
The day seemed like it was going to be a lot longer to Savannah.
"It's what I think." Savannah said.
She wondered if she should have let the Metal girls stay. Earlier it seemed like there were enough Terminators there. If there were three groups opposing them, they might get spread thin. Hopefully the drone support should cover any additional needs to protect them if it was necessary.
Young Allison could see the logic in Savannah's deductions. The different groups of the enemy could end up fighting each other. There was no reason not to let them do so.
"I think all our troops need to fallback for right now until we see how many more players there are." Anna said. "We don't want to get stuck between two groups."
Young Allison could see the problem.
"We don't want to be identified and targeted." Young Allison said. "I get it."
Anna was in contact with John Henry and CamNet.
"The Command Center agrees." Anna said. "CamNet wants to deal with the known threats. The decision is yours to make."
Young Allison frowned. She didn't like to give up the initiative. The other factors all needed to be considered. There was one thing she wanted to remain in control of.
"Alright, break off." Young Allison said. "We own the sky. I want to keep it that way. I want to know everything in the air for five miles around there at all times."
Anna wondered about more resources. The operation was about to expand, they may need additional equipment. She was aware of the arrival of two more drones. They'd undergone a complete inspection and rearming.
"Do you want additional drones or personnel?" Anna asked. "There are ten Terminators there and fourteen drones. 'Coltan Overcast' and 'Cherry Bomb' are ready to lead any attack."
Young Allison smiled. 'Coltan Overcast' and 'Cherry Bomb' were rearmed and ready to back Savannah up personally. She didn't want to involve the personnel who were about to touch down at Van Nuys and go to the Resistance base. She wanted to make it clear to everyone.
"I want all those on the helicopter to return to the Resistance base." Young Allison said. "There are eleven Terminators there with Savannah. Steve is still there with the box truck. There are plenty of weapons in it for anything major."
Anna sensed there was going to be a problem.
"Cameron isn't going to want to stand down." Anna said. "She'll want to go back up Savannah. Savannah's been up since yesterday morning. She's tired and hungry. She's experienced a really busy week on top of everything."
Young Allison could have done without the reminder about everything Savannah had been through. It bothered her enough as it was.
CamNet contacted Anna. It was about the returning personnel to the Resistance base.
"Do you want to make it an 'order'?" Anna asked.
Young Allison hated to do it.
"I don't know." Young Allison said.
Anna thought Young Allison should 'talk it out'.
"Perhaps this is the time to consult Savannah." Anna said. "She's on the ground there after all."
Young Allison didn't like the timing on everything.
"Maybe so, I can do it when everyone is clear of the area." Young Allison said. "Everyone needs to fall back and regroup."
Young Allison was most worried Savannah would try to take the main burden of the operation upon herself. She was aware Cammy would be by her side. She wanted Savannah to use all of her resources to assist her instead.
The Blackhawk set down outside the Resistance hangar.
There were two SUVs waiting for them.
Cameron thought about taking Young Jesse on a tour of the Resistance hangar. It would delay them further. She wanted to get everyone 'home' safe and back to the base.
Cameron looked at Young Jesse.
"We will come back another time to look at everything in detail but I want to briefly show you what's in my hanger, Jesse." Cameron said.
John heard Cameron reference the Resistance hangar as 'her' hangar. It was understandable because she was responsible for everything that was in it. He was thrilled at the prospect of seeing all the aircraft himself.
"I'd like to see everything again too." John said.
Cameron was afraid it would take too long. Not everyone needed to be there. She wanted to complete her mission and make sure everyone returned to the Resistance base.
"Allison and Vanna can go back with Holly and Cam." Cameron said. "Hanna can go with them."
It would leave John and Young Jesse with Gail, Camille and her.
Young Jesse could see Gail looked a little disappointed. She wanted to try to frame it as more than Gail being able to see Jesse sooner.
"Gail can return with them as well." Young Jesse said. "They'll have plenty of muscle if they need it on the way back."
Cameron looked at Young Jesse for a few seconds. She knew she thought about Jesse waiting for Gail back at the base.
"I think it's a good idea." Cameron said. "Thank you for explaining."
The six girls headed for one of the waiting SUVs.
"I'm driving." Allison said. "Who has the keys?"
Cam went to hand Allison the keys. Vanna snatched them and tossed them to Hanna.
"I want to get back in one piece." Vanna said. "Hanna can drive."
Allison looked a little upset.
Hanna drove the six of them away.
Cameron headed for the small hangar door.
"Come inside." Cameron said as she held it open.
Young Jesse quickly glanced at John with Cameron's statement.
John was the last one in. He saw the Blackhawk moved for servicing into the hangar next to the one they were about to enter.
Cameron looked at him and smiled.
"Some extra hangar space became available." Cameron said.
John shook his head.
"I bet." John said as he entered the Resistance hangar.
He didn't want to find out how it happened. He knew hanger space was at a premium at Van Nuys Airport. He was sure someone was made an offer they couldn't refuse. If they did, their days would have been numbered.
Ally and Sheila headed for where CamNet told them Leticia was at. She'd already departed to pick up the rest of her things.
"It looks like she's already there." Ally said.
Sheila sped along in the rental SUV. All the lights were green for them. It was CamNet's doing. It helped a lot.
"I'm just glad I can go." Sheila said. "I didn't think I could earlier."
Ally wasn't sure if she referred to going with the group or the side adventure in the drainage system.
"Life has many wrinkles." Ally said.
Sheila looked over at Ally and smiled.
"So does something else when you get down there and look." Sheila said. "I can tell those are all little pink wrinkles."
Ally tried not to laugh. She didn't want to encourage Sheila's line of thought.
"You have a one track mind." Ally said. "Other's wrinkles have a little more pigmentation."
Sheila made another green light. She shrugged her shoulders.
"You can blame Jesse and not me. I'm a victim of my programming and the 'Neural Interface'." Sheila said. "All anyone needs to do is look a little deeper and they're all the same color inside."
Ally wasn't so sure if there was any blame.
"Or maybe you're a master of it and not a victim." Ally said.
Sheila smiled.
"I like to make my own luck." Sheila said.
They drove for a few more minutes. CamNet vectored them in to where they needed to go.
Sheila drove by once and parked down the street a few houses. They got out of the SUV to investigate further on foot. Sheila was prepared to intervene if it was necessary. She would kill Tracy this time if she needed to get involved. Tracy wouldn't die fast either. She smiled at the thought. She was a master all right. She was a master of pain. She became highly aroused at the thought of what she would do and how she would do it.
Earlier:
Leticia arrived at her previous address. She just needed a few personal things from the kitchen and the bathroom.
She went up to the front door. She took out her keys. She paused and put them back for now. It was no longer her place. She wanted to show some common respect.
She rang the doorbell.
The door opened a few seconds later.
Tracy was there. She looked scared. She carried a medium sized box and handed it to Leticia.
"Hello." Tracy said. "I'm not allowed to speak with you personally. Here's a box. Take anything you want. I'll be in my room."
Tracy walked away without another word. She was visibly shaking.
Leticia watched her go. There were a lot of emotions running through her head. 'Sue' told her to be strong and stand on her own. It's what she was going to do.
What Leticia didn't know was, when Sheila and Ally were redirected to assist Savannah that CamNet contacted Tracy as 'Sue' but remained unnamed. Tracy was warned to let Leticia take anything she wanted from the house while she remained in her bedroom. All the power was turned off to the house for ten seconds and turned back on. Tracy was reminded what the penalties were for violating the rules that were laid down on the ship. An image of a skull and crossbones appeared on her phone for ten seconds as well. She was also reminded she was 'paid' a lot of cash for the 'purchase' of Leticia.
Leticia only took what were her personal items and left several things of hers Tracy liked. She also left her house key. She put everything in the box that was hers and quietly left. She didn't look back.
Tracy was never a problem again.
Sheila was a little disappointed. She'd really looked forward to some corrective action.
A short time ago:
Ally and Sheila moved up to the house and peered in a window. CamNet informed them Tracy was to remain in her bedroom while Leticia was in the house. If the rule was violated, Sheila was free to do as she pleased with her. Warnings were to be taken seriously. The only reason she wasn't terminated outright was because Savannah would disapprove of such activity, especially in a non Resistance matter.
They watched everything pulled off without a hitch. They waited until Leticia drove away to see if Tracy would do anything. She didn't. CamNet was able to put the fear of the 'unknown' in her.
Sheila and Ally left.
They reached the SUV.
Sheila handed the keys to Ally.
"You can drive." Sheila said.
Ally knew it was different. Sheila always drove.
"Where do you want to go?" Ally asked.
Sheila didn't look around. She climbed into the passenger seat and put her safety belt on.
"I really don't know." Sheila said.
Ally started the SUV and drove away.
Savannah thought more about the van. Why hadn't anyone approached it yet? It was just sitting there unattended. An idea popped into her head.
"What if the small drone is the booby trap?" Savannah asked. "Why else would it land behind the bushes next to the van?"
It made sense to Cammy. She told Al not to drive by there after all. It seemed like a bad idea right now.
"It could be." Cammy said.
Savannah thought about how it would be triggered.
"It would most likely need to be remotely detonated." Savannah said. "The communication's ban should prevent it at this point."
Cammy sent all the information through to everyone.
"We need to withdraw for now." Cammy said. "Al, drive to the nearest restaurant out of the immediate area."
Savannah knew they needed to wait for more of the players to show up. She didn't want to bother with the restaurant. She could use a restroom break and wouldn't mind washing her face. She was hungry too.
"We can go, but just for a short time. I don't go too far in case we need to get back here in a hurry." Savannah said.
CamNet provided them with a selection of restaurants which were currently open and close by. Savannah picked one on the harbor channel. They would be able to see the big green suspension bridge and the cruise ship.
John Henry put the communication's ban into effect over the entire area. The small drone was a threat if it was a booby trap and a bomb.
Summer developed an idea concerning the small drone. She bypassed John Henry and went directly to CamNet with it. She didn't want to delay and wait for John to arrive. She was pretty sure he would return to the Command Center upon his arrival. She might do something about it as well. She'd often heard people needed a vacation from their vacation when they returned from one.
After some reflection, Young Allison believed Savannah's assessment of the small drone was spot on. She'd actually considered the possibility herself. She wanted to return the drone to its rightful owners. It would just be a little different than they'd anticipated.
"I want to use the small drone to attack the sniper or the man in the blue car if we can commandeer the signal." Young Allison said.
Anna thought it was an aggressive move. She needed to consider the time of the day.
"It might be better to target the sniper." Anna said. "The man in the blue car is still out in the open. An explosion is bound to draw a crowd in the daylight."
Young Allison wanted to do something. Savannah was away to get something to eat for a few minutes. She could take the heat off of the one team of four which was set to breach the building the sniper was in.
"Contact CamNet and John Henry and advise them of the new plan." Young Allison said.
Anna contacted both of them and was a little surprised at what she found out.
"It appears instructions were sent from the Command Center to use the drone to attack the sniper already." Anna said.
It was a surprise to Young Allison.
"Why didn't John Henry advise us?" Young Allison asked.
Anna was informed at the same time he was.
"He just found out." Anna said. "Summer sent the suggestion to CamNet as soon as the drone was determined to be a booby trap. It was something she'd suspected all along as well."
Young Allison wanted to see how far Summer 'pushed'.
"Did she 'order' it to be used?" Young Allison asked.
Anna was a little surprised at the chain of events, as well as the reason why.
"No." Anna said. "She just told CamNet to have everything ready to go because it was what was going to happen. She told CamNet we would contact her soon about it."
Young Allison smiled. Summer was one to two steps ahead of them in everything she did. Her targeting instructions during the darkness resulted in most of the deaths at the two ambush sites. She was still able to hit targets, even when they were 'blinded' by the jamming field.
"She's the best." Young Allison said. "I really mean it."
She was very proud of her protégé.
Anna would have liked to have seen Summer trained more extensively.
"If Cameron would have been allowed to train her as she trained you, Summer would be a weapon." Anna said.
Young Allison swallowed hard. She'd personally trained Summer for a very specific reason. She also believed Summer was a weapon. Not only would she be a force on the battlefield, her real victories would come in cyberspace. She believed any supercomputer she faced would know fear before its termination. They would learn the hard way they were created by humans in the first place. They didn't create themselves. She didn't know what her personal future would be.
"Summer will step up and take her place when it's time." Young Allison said. "She'll do her duty and assist the Resistance in every manner."
Anna knew Young Allison trained Summer to 'take her place' if she 'fell'. It wasn't a pleasant thought for anyone.
"Hopefully it will never be necessary." Anna said. "I will personally do everything I can to prevent it. I swear it."
Young Allison was aware she was nearly identical to Allison now in physical appearance. It made her uncomfortable to think of her own termination
"I really don't know." Young Allison said. "I'm not quite finished growing yet and it's something I need to think about. It can happen. I want everyone to be taken care of."
Anna didn't like the thought of doom or death to be something Young Allison needed to think about. Females her age didn't need to think about death, especially their own. It was time to redirect the conversation.
"We should focus on the present and not something which may never happen." Anna said. "We need to be on the alert for 'new players' to enter the target area."
Young Allison considered some of the possibilities based upon what occurred so far.
"If the van with the five men wasn't associated with the blue car or the sniper, someone should come looking for it." Young Allison said.
"They may attribute the loss of contact to the communication's blackout." Anna said. "They may not know they're down."
There was one group Young Allison didn't want to see pop back up in their operations. It was the Syndicate. She'd initiated CamNet to start a 'war' between the different Families. Next it was the Syndicate as a whole with the Cartels, to take them out of the picture. If they showed up, she would direct CamNet to take down all the Family heads. She wasn't sure how CamNet would do it, but she knew it would happen.
Cammy arrived at the restaurant. She waited for Savannah to get out but she didn't.
Savannah checked with CamNet and John Henry herself before she would get out of the SUV.
She was satisfied it was clear for now.
Savannah looked at her clothes.
"I don't look so hot." Savannah said.
Cammy looked at her clothes. They were ten times worse. She'd gone up the narrow drain pipe with the rats earlier.
"You look fine." Cammy said.
Savannah looked at both of their attire again. It wouldn't be hard to draw a few comparisons.
"I look like a homeless person." Savannah said. "You look like a refugee from a ship that sank in an oil slick which was burning."
Cammy tried to brush her shirt off with no effect.
Al had remained silent for most of the journey. He thought he could contribute.
"You can wear my clothes." Al said.
Savannah looked at AL. The clothes would be a little loose on her. She would still look like a homeless person.
"I can go in with you, AL." Savannah said. "They will probably think you 'picked me up' and I am trading sex for food."
Cammy didn't looked pleased. She didn't like the analogy. She knew it was all too common. She'd been on enough of Cameron's 'off the books' operations to know people would do a lot of things to survive. Most of them were things they never would have even contemplated a few years before their current situation.
"I guess I'll need to wait in the SUV." Cammy said.
Savannah didn't want Cammy to feel left out. There were certain things she could do to ease the impact.
"I can get the food to go." Savannah said. "I'll use the restroom while they process the order. It won't take too long."
Now Cammy felt somewhat overbearing in her previous responses to Savannah.
"You can sit down, relax and eat for a little while. It doesn't take long." Cammy said. "I at least want you to have a short break."
Savannah wiped her face off a little.
"Thanks, Cammy." Savannah said. "I won't be long. You'll be able to make sure nobody booby traps our ride, or tries to steal it since you'll be here."
Cammy quickly checked around the area. She would make sure no one approached their vehicle at all.
Cameron could see how thrilled Young Jesse was to see the aircraft in the hangar. She showed them around. She was pleased John remembered what all the aircraft were.
Young Jesse was impressed with everything she saw. She already heard a lot about it.
"Savannah told me about this." Young Jesse said. "I can see she undersold it."
It gave Cameron an idea.
"Savannah can take you up for a flight when she gets back." Cameron said.
Young Jesse liked the plan. There was one thing she didn't like.
"When will she be back?" Young Jesse asked. "Every time I check, she's on an operation."
Cameron frowned. She needed to suppress a slight glitch impulse.
"It's my fault." Cameron said. "I've been away all week and neglected my duties."
Young Jesse thought she said too much and upset Cameron.
"You didn't neglect your husband." Camille said. "You provided him with the best honeymoon a guy could ever ask for."
Cameron looked at John, Young Jesse and Camille.
"I want to thank you all for making it possible." Cameron said. "Everything that happened is what I wanted. Thank you for your assistance."
John was a little uncomfortable at this point.
"Maybe Jesse can look inside the Mitchell." John said.
Camille wanted to point out Young Jesse was qualified in multiple types of aircraft.
"She's twin engine rated." Camille said. "I trained her myself. Things aren't busy 'Down Under' like they are here. We've been able to do a lot of training."
John was surprised to hear Young Jesse could fly.
"Does everyone know how to fly except me?" John asked.
Cameron looked a little upset.
"No." Cameron said. "I can initiate a training program to do it."
John didn't want to cause a problem.
"Relax." John said. "It was just a statement."
Young Jesse looked at John.
"He could go with Savannah and me." Young Jesse said.
Cameron looked at Camille.
"It's an excellent idea." Cameron said. "We can all join the 'Mile High Club'."
John and Young Jesse quickly looked at each other. They both wanted to do it with their Metal lovers and each other.
Summer watched the SUV pull onto the parking area on the security camera. Some of the team was back. There was no need to ruffle any feathers.
"I need to go for now." Summer said. "If you need me, you can use my com."
John Henry didn't want her to leave.
"The operation hasn't concluded yet." John Henry said.
Summer didn't want to create a problem with her mother.
"My time here in the future will be if I don't get back." Summer said. "I'll be around."
Summer headed for the recreation room.
When she arrived, she asked her mother to go to the car pool area. There was a surprise for her there.
Summer took over Jan's instruction without missing a beat.
Hanna let everyone off by the door and went to park the SUV.
Allison and Vanna followed Holly inside. Cam followed behind them.
Gail entered next and Jesse was there waiting for her. There was a giant smile on both of their faces. They hugged and kissed. They quickly headed for Jesse's room.
Hanna parked the SUV and hurried back.
Claire arrived as Hanna walked in the door. She understood what Summer did for her as she started to assist Jan in her place.
Hanna and Claire rushed to each other. They embraced and kissed. They headed for Claire's room.
Claire was aware of what transpired on the ship as far as the Metal girls were concerned. She wanted Hanna to tell her all about 'Cameron's experience' in her chassis. She really wanted to know about John's performance. She wanted to make sure he could deliver.
It was what Hanna did as she showed her everything from start to finish. They did it all together. Claire made it several times. She was hooked. She wanted more. She wanted John to get her there while they made love. She'd be happy to do it just one time even. It seemed some people could deliver and others couldn't. Some people could read music and play the notes, while others could play music because they felt the music. She wanted to feel the 'music' John played.
Earlier:
There had been a bloodbath inside of the mine. The two HK Tracks the female Fanatic reprogrammed were responsible. They'd done a very efficient job.
It didn't look like they were done yet. The two HK Tracks joined each other and proceeded to look for additional targets.
The HK Track on patrol came to investigate. It spotted the two HK Tracks coming towards it. They exchanged information. The HK Track on patrol went back to the cavern it was from and parked. The other two HK Tracks indicated they would take over the patrol duty.
Minutes ago:
There were two Grays who'd moved some of the crates and just finished moving an HK Track with the forklift.
"What's going on?" The first man asked.
The second man got back up on the forklift.
"It sounds like we're being attacked." The second man said.
The first man knew some of their installations had been taken down in the last few days.
"It sounds like one of the HK Tracks is really giving them Hell. " The first man said.
The second man wondered how big the attacking force was. He hadn't heard any explosions. He didn't want to get trapped inside of the mine.
"We need to get out of here." The second man said.
The first man wondered how they were supposed to do it.
"There's only one way in and one way out of this death trap." This first man said.
The second man wondered if they should fight or try and hide.
"What do you want to do, man?" The second man asked.
The first man didn't want to get hunted down like a rat.
"Let's get up there." The first man said.
The second man turned the forklift around and headed towards the front of the mine.
"Hop on the back." The second man said.
The first man climbed up on the back of the forklift as it passed.
"We need to get some weapons." The first man said.
The second man needed to look in front of him as he drove the forklift. Its top speed wasn't very fast. The ride was very rough. He actually needed to slow down. He wasn't sure where they were going to get weapons at. They were all up in the front. He thought he could see something up ahead. The passageway was very dimly lit. The headlights of the forklift illuminated what appeared to be an HK Track.
"I see something up ahead." The second man said.
The first man looked around the side of the forklift. He spotted an HK Track. He saw another one of the men come out of a cavern. As soon as he did, the HK Track opened up on him. The man was hit and fell. It was clear who the attackers were.
"You need to go back." The first man said. "The HK Tracks are attacking us."
The second man could see it appeared to be the case. He knew it was only a matter of seconds until the HK Track opened up on them.
"We can't outrun that thing." The second man said. "There's a cavern on each side of us."
The first man was unprepared for the sharp turn the second man made with the forklift. The forklift turned with the rear wheels. The back end swung over rapidly. He was flung off of it and landed on the ground. He rolled several times. He watched the forklift turn into the cavern on the right. He was closest to one on the left side. He made a dash for it. Bullets impacted right in back of him as he'd entered it. He knew he didn't have long before the HK Track would arrive. It was clearly an enemy HK Track. He carried a transponder on him.
The second man made a sharp turn with a forklift to get inside of the closest cavern. He saw the man on the back fall off. There wasn't much he could do. He quickly turned into the opening. He could hear minigun fire. He figured it was directed at the other man.
The two Grays each entered a separate cavern on opposite sides of the passageway. They weren't in alignment with each other. One man was on a forklift. The other man was on foot. The HK Tracks were closing rapidly.
The female Fanatic and Jill started back the way they'd come. There was still one more unexplored option for them back at the cavern they'd been in previously. It didn't take them long to return to their last departure point. They immediately headed for the right passageway.
Jill stayed right behind Jackie. She was becoming increasingly worried about their chances of survival. They looked very grim at this point.
"If this way doesn't pan out, we'll have to go back the way we came." Jill said.
The female Fanatic could see they were running out of options.
"Let's see what we find in this one first." The female Fanatic said.
In the light of the phone, they could see dust starting to come down between the boards in the passageway above them.
"Is it getting ready to cave in?" Jill asked.
The female Fanatic wasn't sure what was about to happen. There was a loud 'crash' sound up in front of them. It sounded metallic.
CamNet's Terminators were both bothered by the events which occurred at the port. They were pleased the Resistance team had emerged unscathed and the victors. It didn't appear the operation was concluded yet either. Right now they needed to get moving. They entered the Aerial Tramway station.
There were already several people in line. They moved away from the tour group they'd entered with. Most of the tourists began to look around the inside of the station.
Lena looked out the window in the direction the cable car line went.
"I can see the cable car coming down." Lena said. "It should be here within a few minutes."
Tina checked her phone to see the drone image of where the men were at. They were still out by their van. She could also see a tour bus arrive. It was a full size bus. It should have around forty passengers on board. The people begin to exit from it almost immediately. They appear to be primarily from an Asian country.
"We need to get our passes from the VIP booth." Tina said. "We should be allowed into the holding area for boarding ahead of the regular passengers."
Lena wanted to make sure they were inside of the holding area before the men arrived. It looked like they would be. She approached the VIP desk. She exchanged some information with the clerk. They were handed two VIP boarding passes. The clerk directed them to move around the people in line to a gate with a chain across it.
The attendant inside moved over to where they were at and unhooked the chain. He directed them to stand over in the holding area. They would be the first ones to get on the cable car when it arrived. They took a look behind them.
There was a very loud electric hum in the part of the building behind them. It was from the giant electric motor which powered the cable.
They could see the Asian tourists starting to enter the station. The people from the tour van begin to get in line behind the people waiting. The Asian tourists were directed by their guide to get in line behind them. It looked like it was going to be a full cable car going up.
The side of the station was open in front of them. It was where the cable cars arrived and departed from. They could see the cable car was almost to the station. It arrived one minute later. It slowed as it neared the docking platform. It moved forward very slowly. It's topped with a slight thud. The door open and only three people exited. They all carried backpacks. They were probably overnight backpackers.
The attendant quickly ushered them out the exit. He moved over to where they were at next.
"Go ahead and get on. It's going to be a full house going up." The attendant said.
Tina checked the drone image of the two men from the van. They were halfway between the van and the station.
They entered and moved to the rear of the cable car so they could watch what happened behind them when it left. The other passengers began to crowd in around them. Everyone was pressed up against the windows. The door closed. A buzzer sounded. There was a slight jolt. The cable car pulled out of the station very slowly. Once it was clear of the station building, the speed picked up.
They could see the men made it into the station. They would have to wait for the next cable car.
CamNet's Terminators watched the station get smaller behind them as they ascended. They were afforded a view of the desert area behind them as the cable car went up the hill.
The two men collected a few things from the van and started out. They were only able to take their pistols with them. They really didn't think they would need anything else where they were going.
They'd noticed one van of tourists arrive a few minutes ago. They were a little dismayed to see a full size tour bus arrive and pull up directly in front of the station.
"Well, so much for getting on the next cable car." The first man said.
The second man didn't know how many people were already inside.
"Let's hope it's not too crowded so we can get on the next one." The second man said. "We were asleep so we don't know how many people are actually in there."
The first man was a little irritated but they'd needed to sleep.
"I don't think it really matters." The first man said. "It's what it is."
The two men entered the station just as the cable car pulled away. They were pleased to see there were only a dozen people in line. With the two tour groups, they probably wouldn't have been able to get on anyway, even if they'd been inside a little earlier.
They looked out the window and watched the cable car start on its journey up the hill.
"I'm just glad we didn't have to hike up there on foot." The first man said.
The second man knew they still had a good hike ahead of them.
"We still have a few miles to go." The second man said. "Don't forget it's at high altitude as well. The air is going to be a lot thinner."
The first man was ready for some fresh air.
"It will sure beat the crap we needed to breathe in the future." The first man said.
It gave them the opportunity to use the restroom. There was a small cafe but they didn't purchase anything else. There was a gift shop. They didn't look inside of it.
They could hear some more noise over by the entrance. There was another influx of tourists. It was an even bigger group.
"Great, here comes another tour group." The second man said.
The two men moved into the line. There were now about twenty people ahead of them.
Identified And Targeted
There are many things in life to choose
Some of them are limited or restricted
There can be confusion and doubt
It's easy to be distracted
When one learns to expect nothing
They will be less disappointed
To try to take more than is there
Makes everything even more complicated
There are many times
When another is not interested
They may possess other desires
They could also be conceited
With other people things happen
It's easy to feel connected
Everything seems to fall into place
Above all others they are soon elevated
It is easy to become excited
As the feelings are cultivated
Two can feel committed and devoted
As true love is identified and targeted
