Hello, Fiygon again!
How's you guys' 2021 been treating ya? Hopefully good. ^.^
Ah I had a laugh reading your guys' reviews last chapter about the Limbo part.
A lot goes on in this chapter, but I'm really trying hard to not drag out my pacing too much, and get the ball rolling, y'know? Not that I'm rushing it or anything. I just feel like I have problems with writing way too much on scenes that generally do not need the extra words... This chapter is kind of a way of me testing the faster pacing. Feel free to let me know if it's too fast or slow.
Once again, and I'm gonna repeat it many more times. Thanks so much for the support, and the reviews/follows/favorites. It's all very much appreciated!
Chapter 11
"Color/Meeting"
"Aghhh…" The Tiger crossed his arms and gripped himself in pain. "That… Demon!" He seethed through grinded teeth
His words began coming out in shaky, deep breaths, "What has she done… I've been corrupted! Curse her!" He shouted into the empty streets. "Her and that master, and their slaves of the mind!
He fell to his knees, and began coughing up blood, growling he craned his neck to look high into the sky, "They will take me with mercy! This pain is unbearable, I regret not having the strength to rid this world of them." He started laughing.
His laugh slowed as the light began fading from his eyes, and his world disappeared from his eyes, until he heard the familiar sound, and a familiar voice, "Oh could you please spare us the drama act."
"Ahh!" I yelled unintentionally, jolting awake. It wasn't super loud, but I guiltily looked around. Realizing I was right where I was when I went to sleep, Kenra was farther away now, but I felt Cynder stir.
She didn't say anything, just nuzzled me, and shushed me before I could get too panicked. A caring smile upon her features as she nudged me closer to herself. I complied, and I soon enough felt groggy again, and couldn't help but pull myself closer towards Cynder.
Later in the morning, I groaned as I felt myself being moved. But tried to continue sleeping, "Gale…" I heard Cynder's voice speak softly.
I rolled over slightly and mumbled, she laughed a bit and nudged me again with her muzzle. "You can sleep more soon, you need to eat before we head out."
I slowly opened one of my eyes, my warmth was gone since Cynder was standing there looking at me, Kenra sitting a few feet away. "Where's…" I cringed, as my mouth felt very sore, "S-Spyro?" I asked.
She seemed annoyed at him, "I think he went to turn in the room key, and get some food for us, who knows." She said slightly rolling her eyes.
Kenra rubbed against my side, "Morning…" he said quietly.
I smiled, and leaned into him, "Morning."
Cynder hummed concerned, "Are you sure you'll both be okay? Flying to Warfang is a long trip. And a big climate change."
I nodded, and slowly looked to Kenra, which after a bit of hesitation, he nodded. "Nothing left here, need to move on." He stated solemnly.
"Yeah," I said, "The last place I want to be is… here." I said thinking of everything that had happened, Cynder nodded sympathetically.
Afterwards Spyro came back through the door. Cynder seemed a bit distant from him emotionally, but after seeing his guilt-ridden, tired face, and a bag of food, she rubbed against his side, "Thank you," She said. He seemed slightly tired, more than usual, but probably because he didn't fall back asleep after… that… happened.
I hadn't dreamed at all after everything last night. It would be nice if that weird voice would've come back and explained more to me. But I guess I wasn't that lucky. So I'm only left to guess on what transpired in my sleep. I've also wondered if the one who kidnapped me was someone Cynder previously had issues with? She said she didn't used to be the… best, morally.
"Gale." I was shook out of my thoughts by Cynder saying my name. "Come eat, before we leave, okay?"
I nodded, and after we all ate, which was painful for me, we prepared ourselves for the long flight. Which basically meant me and Kenra just getting into the pouch again. And Spyro and Cynder stretching their muscles. Afterwards, we took off. From the sky off the shoreline, the continent behind me looked rather menacing I must say, not very inviting. The dreary town, with the snowed, jagged, mountaintops as a backdrop. I was glad I was leaving, I had only bad memories of the place, only Rena made me feel wanted here. But she was leaving too, hopefully, to a better place.
As we left I felt a weird buzz and a humming sound, as both Spyro and Cynder released a sigh of relief. Spyro laughed, "Feels good not to feel so vulnerable."
"What was that?" I asked.
Cynder nodded, "The island isn't draining most of our powers anymore. So we have all of our elements back at full force."
"Really? Cool!" I said excitedly.
Cynder glanced over to Spyro, "Wanna demonstrate to them for fun?"
Spyro nodded, flapping a few times harder and gained distance as Cynder stopped. Me and Kenra watched in anticipation, as Spyro released a torrent of water fire and lightning, turning into a rather terrifying sight. And he stopped at once, flying back with a grin as me and Kenra stared wide-eyed. Elements looked so cool! I can't wait to see if I can learn one. He laughed at our faces, "Sorry, there was no earth nearby or I would've shown that one as well."
Cynder giggled, and we fell back into our flight. Kenra turned to me in surprise as well, and he looked confused. "What is it?" I asked, noticing his weird stare.
He hummed, "You uh… different, look white… uh pale." He said looking for the word.
"It's probably the fever, get some sleep Gale." Cynder said, smiling.
Not long after the island faded from view, with the warmth of the pouch, Kenra's fur, and Cynder's methodical flap of her wings, I fell back to sleep.
Sleeping didn't last long enough, however. As I eventually woke up some time later, it seemed to be a bit past noon. Kenra had also slept, but had been awake for a while just staring at the ocean below us. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, and Kenra smiled down at me. "Good day sleep."
I stared for a second, and then started snickering, he tilted his head, as I tried to hide it. "What? Did I say something?"
I burst out laughing, and Cynder looked down curiously at us, I tried to explain to Kenra, "I'm sorry, it's just… I'm not quite sure what you meant, was that a 'good morning'? Because, 'good day sleep' sounds silly."
Cynder giggled a bit, "Little Volteer down there I hear." then she focused ahead again. I don't know who that is...
He looked confused, but he laughed, "Mean same thing correct?"
I laughed a bit more, "Almost."
"Elich…"
The tiger's red eyes shot open, and he took a sharp breath. Looking around himself in mild panic, noticing that his arms were chained to the ceiling with cuffs, and his feet locked to the ground. "W-What is this?" He shouted looking all around.
A few clawed steps, alerted him to who had spoken. His pure white paw coming into view, as piercing yellow eyes met his own.
Elich stammered, "M-My liege, w-what is this?"
The purely white dragon looked at him questioningly, with an annoyed look, "Yes, it's me, spare me the act." He brought up a front paw and grabbed his jaw, "You impudent fool."
The tiger shivered in his grip, "My liege, whatever did I do? P-Please forgive me I-"
"Be silent!" He commanded the quivering tiger.
"You know very well what you've done. The dragon… you-" he growled, "How much information was given?!"
He cried, "Sire you said he was one of them, I-I thought-"
"And that's just it, isn't it Elich?" He said, bringing his maw closer to his face, "I didn't command you to think of your own plans, you are expendable."
He aggressively pulled his paw away, and started pacing around the locked tiger, "I gave simple orders, hunt them down, report to me. Find any info, report to me. Do you know what you did, Elich?" He asked rhetorically as the tiger closed his eyes and whimpered pathetically.
"You kidnapped the welp, straight from THEM Elich, the room they slept in! You are so far out of line, you may as well be going in a circle!"
He looked up desperately, "I-I injured him! My liege I-"
The white dragon's eyes dilated, "I don't remember ordering you to lay a finger on him. How much did you damage him?"
He hung his head in defeat, "Only a few cuts…"
"And what… did you tell him?" The white dragon said glaring intensely.
"What you said we'd offer him, nobility. That he was being… corrupted by those demons." He said looking hopefully up to him.
The white dragon looked away, releasing him from his paw's grasp. And paced for a few moments, "As long as you are telling the truth…" he said looking at the tiger as he gulped, "Than this isn't as bad as I expected Elich."
He seemed relieved, "Oh thank you Sire! I-"
"You will stay here in the dungeons as of now, I will not have fools that take matters into their own." He said walking towards the cell door.
The tiger panicked, "I can still be useful Sire! W-Why else would you have saved me from the devil's poison?"
He turned his head and looked wildly from one eye, "Oh, I still need you. Don't you worry."
The tiger seemed relieved as the white dragon walked away, a sinister smile upon his face
Eventually the continent had come into view, and I could tell that Spyro and Cynder relaxed heavily, their muscles probably reaching their limit. The sun was still at mid afternoon, with a few hours left until dark. "Finally…" Cynder sighed, craning her neck around to look at Kenra and me as we scanned the terrain with wide eyes, "You're both starving as well I presume?"
We nodded, and we landed in a small forest clearing. As Cynder helped me out of the pouch, I instantly noticed the climate change. We went from a mostly cold mountainous region, to what felt like a mostly dry heat forest. Something I was much more comfortable and used to, from my time back on earth.
I turned to Kenra worriedly though, but he was still just looking around in wonder. He didn't seem too hot in the slightest, "Amazing… How does it feel Kenra?" I asked, catching his attention.
He looked to me, seemed unsure, and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath in. "Feel warm, not uncomfortable. Welcoming." He opened his eyes, giving me a smile.
Cynder leaned over the two of us smiling, "Well I'm glad to hear you two like it."
She stopped abruptly, staring at me oddly with a hint of worry. "Gale honey are you feeling okay?"
I shrugged, "I don't feel great, but that's nothing new."
She nodded slowly, "Kenra was right you are… very pale. Your scales aren't even the same color anymore, and…"
She sat down out of what I can only assume is shock, "What is this..? Are you sure you don't feel worse?"
I began feeling worried, "I uh… what's wrong Cynder?"
She gently guided me over to a small pond and showed me my reflection. Both my tan scales and my cyan underbelly were very pale, my scales were a dirty white-ish color resembling tan, and my cyan underbelly looked washed out. My brighter eye was way dimmer, but my mane was still the same color, so silver lining I guess. I looked back down at it multiple times, "Is-.. is it the water?"
Cynder tried to hold back a laugh, but shifted her face seriously, "No Gale, I don't think so…"
"The climate change? The continent? W-What else could it be?" I asked frantically.
She put a paw around me, "Shh relax, you'll be okay. The guardians will know what to do."
I started breathing slightly quicker, "T-The guardians? I don't even know who they are! W-What makes you think they'll know-"
Spyro came back out of the woods with some mid sized logs, throwing them in a pile of dirt, then lighting it with his fire breath. He noticed us and came over quickly, "What's the matter? Is he alright?" He said leaning down to inspect me, before seemingly trying to hide his surprise at my fading colors.
Cynder hummed, "Something is off with his colors, but you feel fine right sweetie?" She said, asking me hopefully.
I couldn't stop my little panic attack I was having, not another thing wrong with me not again! How much is enough! "Gale," Kenra's voice brought me comfort. He wrapped his arms around me, and my breathing started to slow.
Cynder and Spyro looked between each other confused, and Spyro hummed questioningly. "He seems okay, other than the obvious change in color. What if it was the continent magic draining or something?"
Cynder shook her head, "When we found his-.. We've seen him outside of the continent, it can't be that. I've heard of hatchlings scale color changing within their first year of life, but this is… different."
Spyro shook his head and sighed, "You're right, we'll figure it out as we go, right now we need to eat."
Soon enough a large fire was blazing. I began to calm down a lot more, maybe it wasn't a bad thing? Me and Kenra excitedly hopped our way over to the fire, heeding a warning of carefulness from Cynder. And even still, Kenra wasn't overheating, which I relaxed at.
Spyro gave a short laugh as me and Kenra chased each other around the campfire, our restlessness from flying all day catching up to us. "I'll go hunting for a bit, be back soon."
Cynder and Spyro nodded towards each other, and he was off. Cynder layed down, and completely spread herself out against the grass, letting out a large sigh. I bounded over to her worriedly and nudged her front paw, "Are you okay Cynder?"
She shifted, and giggled a bit, "I would not wish cross continental flights on my worst enemy." She layed upright, putting her muzzle against mine, "But even still I don't regret it. No matter how tired I am."
I looked over at Kenra, who was also spread out near the fire, taking a short rest to stretch his limbs. I frowned at how much stress and pain I was putting them through. "Do you think that…-" I paused, thinking of what to say, "Will they like me? The other dragons… I'm not so sure." I said releasing a few coughs, even though I wanted to run around my sickness was still catching up.
She shook her head, "Of course they will! And if they don't then who cares, plenty of people like you already Gale. And that includes all three of us."
She nuzzled me gently with her muzzle, "And if they ever think of being mean to you about it, just tell me. Not many people would want to disagree with me." My smile lifted a bit at her words.
"Are you feeling alright? Need more medicine sweetie?" She said putting a paw to my head to see how warm I was.
I shook my head, "I'm okay…other than the color... the fever is down a bit"
She looked a bit less worried, "Good! Hungry?"
I blushed and she nuzzled me again, then I nodded. "Yes." She smiled at me before nodding.
A few hours later we had all eaten and gotten our stretches out of the way. We were about another three hours out from Warfang and would make it there just after nightfall.
The night wind was chilly, but in the pouch I felt warm enough, the pitch black darkness meant I had no interest in the surroundings so I hid myself from the wind. After falling asleep, a few hours must have passed as I was woken. Up by Kenra tapping me, "W-What?" I said groggily.
"We're home." Cynder said down to me.
I sleepily popped my head out to look. And I didn't see anything resembling a city, though I did see light on the horizon. We came up over a ridge, and the massive city was revealed to me. A huge wall, the size of a six or so story building surrounded it, stretching for what looked like miles. A massive gate, and from the dim lighting of the torches, I thought I could see multiple guards patrolling the walls.
The inside of the city was amazing, near the front by the gates was some farms, rather large, but paling in comparison to the size of the city. A river flowed through it. The farther away from the farms you got the city was higher, about a two story difference in height from the farmlands. There were buildings that resembled skyscrapers, though not nearly as tall as on earth, they stood impressively large. What seemed to be a park in the center. Up at a mountain that the city sat against was a temple. I could not give the buildings a distinctive architecture, as they were obviously a brand new culture to me anyway.
Their technology did not seem to be very advanced as I could barely make out the details of the city in the darkness. What I could see was the streets lined with lamps and torches. Spyro flew closer, "What do you think you two?"
I was impressed by the city, for sure, but I wasn't nearly as shocked having seen cities on earth multiple times. Kenra on the other hand was completely in awe. "It's… huge! So many buildings!" Kenra said.
They both laughed, and Cynder pointed a claw towards an area near the back of the city, by the mountain. "We live over there, it's near a park, a shopping district, and very close to the temple where school is held."
School? They have school here? Oh no… please don't tell me- "Which will be both of you two's school if you're going to live here."
I frowned in disappointment, but shrugged it off. Spyro and Cynder came to a halt while flying, Cynder sighed, "We can talk to the guardians tomorrow. Tonight I say we pick up Kaali and sleep."
Spyro nodded in agreement, and smiled at me and Kenra who were yawning and blinking our eyes tiredly, "They both seem ready for bed, how about I pick her up and you take them home for tonight?" They nodded in agreement and parted ways.
"Kaali?" Kenra said, confused.
Cynder smiled warmly while talking about her, "She's our daughter. She's around four and a half years old."
"Four and a half years?" Kenra parroted confused.
She thought for a moment, "Four winters, born in the summer." Kenra seemed to understand now as he smiled and nodded.
She laughed a little, "You'll be meeting her soon I'm sure."
Cynder landed in a rather quiet looking city street, in front of a two story house. It was huge to me, but it was built for dragon's after all. Though their house did look very fancy in comparison to others I saw. Cynder kneeled down and let Kenra out, but I didn't feel like moving honestly, and struggled to move myself out into the cold. She giggled a little, "I'll carry you Gale don't worry."
She started towards it, "I know it looks quite over the top… But after the war ten years ago they would not stand to give us any less." She sighed, "We tried to be more modest, but they ended up giving us this massive place anyway."
She was opening the door, and Kenra scanned everything excitedly, "We have around three empty rooms upstairs. Maybe just one now." She said a bit quieter to herself with a smile.
The inside was very large as was the doorway, to accommodate most adult dragon's assumed. She turned some lights on, and I was impressed by the decor. It opened into a hallway with some stairs on the right leading up. Through the hallway to the right was a very large living room, with a fireplace, and multiple large pillows to lay down or sit on. A glass sliding door to a very large outside yard. On the left of the hallway was a kitchen, and a large dining area. Kenra's reaction was super amusing.
"This is very nice Cynder." I said while looking around at the decorating.
She seemed to blush, "Thank you! I spent quite a while on it."
She toured us the house, showing the bedrooms as well. The master bedroom for her and Spyro was pretty huge with one gigantic burgundy pillow covering half of the room. With a bunch of pictures on the walls of their family, and a large window with a black curtain. A dark oak looking dresser, I don't know what a dragon would keep in their dresser, but okay. The pillows were purple and yellow, and I laughed a little to myself that they themed their room after themselves.
Kaali's room was surprisingly nice, she had a yellow and blue color scheme, with a sunflower and sky theme. The walls were painted sky blue with clouds and sunflowers. I was just happy it wasn't aggressively pink like my… niece's room was. In the center of her room was a big dark blue pillow with a. Bunch of moons on it, and it was surrounded by drapes held by the ceiling that looked dark blue with stars. I hopped out of the pouch to check it out. It was pretty cool. When she would sleep it looked like she was sleeping in the night sky.
She briefly showed us her other three rooms, one was a very simple guest bedroom with a dark grey color scheme. And the other two were quite literally completely empty. Along with another room that Spyro used as his office.
Just as we were finishing with the tour, the front door opened downstairs. Spyro called out, "Watch out guys! She's still energetic!"
Cynder giggled, and looked at me and Kenra almost pitifully as we heard steps up the stairs. "Mommy!"
Kaali lunged at her mother's leg and hugged tightly, which Cynder brought her up into an even bigger hug. She was a cream colored dragoness, with the same color underbelly as Cynder has, and a very similar horn structure to Cynder. Her eyes were purple as well, and she didn't seem to have anything on her tail like Cynder. 'Was that a modification or was she born with it?' I wondered.
"Hi honey." Cynder said nuzzling her affectionately.
She set her down, and gestured to us behind her. She looked confused and turned around, her eyes widened. "Is that the alien? And who's that?"
She rushed over cautiously, and curiously. As she began to inspect all around us. She was about twice my size, but still only a few inches shorter than Kenra. Cynder laughed, "The 'alien' is named Gale. And the furred one is Kenra." Spyro arrived at the top, sitting next to his mate and smiling at the meeting we were having.
I nodded shyly, "Hello, you're Kaali?"
She seemed surprised at my voice, and nodded excitedly, "Hey, Gale right? And Kenra? Nice to meet you two."
She looked me up and down, and seemed disappointed, "Though I thought you'd look more alien like." She shrugged, "Oh well! You're still super cute though, and your eyes are pretty!"
I blushed as she moved on to inspect Kenra, who seemed a bit more unwelcoming of her up close and personal way of acting. "Ooh you have fur! That's super cool! And no wings? How do you fly?"
He nodded slowly, then looked confused. "I'm sorry… what question… first?"
Spyro spoke up a bit and stepped forward, "Oh Kaali, dear. Kenra isn't a native speaker of our language, okay? So be respectful."
She seemed to understand as she bowed slightly, "Sorry. Where are you two from?"
Kenra nodded respectfully, "The mountains in north. On different continent."
She looked to me expectantly, and I struggled to answer, "I've been kinda lost, but uh… you know where I'm from."
She tilted her head and nodded, "Oh yeah, alien… right."
Kenra looked oddly at her, "Why you call Gale… 'alien'?"
We call him an alien becaus-"
"It's a figure of speech!" Cynder interrupted, "It just means 'not from around here'."
Kenra looked between the two oddly, before nodding slowly. But I didn't feel like he was convinced. Meanwhile, Kaali shoved her snout down near my face, nearly scaring the scales off of me. "So, are you going to school with me?"
I stuttered, "I-I uh…"
Cynder laughed, "Honey he's only six months old. He's way too young to go to school already."
She looked down again in surprise, "Six months? Aww!" I blushed as she started to nuzzle me. She was a very touchy dragon, she very much so reminded me of my niece, but I was the younger one now.
I must've winced in mild pain, my jaw and body in general was still very sore. She backed off a bit in worry, "Oh, I'm sorry. Mommy keeps telling me to respect people's personal space. I wasn't trying to hurt you."
I shook my head, "N-No, it's fine. I'm just not in my best shape right now. I laughed awkwardly.
Cynder came over, and gently placed a paw against my face, and I couldn't help but rest my head on it. Kaali looked sad now, "I know it's rude but uh… what happened to you? Both of you?" She said inspecting both of our bandages bodies, though Kenra was much better because of the red crystals.
I cringed at the thoughts it brought, and whimpered slightly. Cynder must've gestured to her not to keep asking, which I was thankful for. "Now! It's very close to bedtime for you little ones. You can talk more again tomorrow but Gale is getting sleepy." Spyro said quickly.
Kaali seemed annoyed, "Aww but you two just got home! And I just made two new friends!"
Cynder smiled, "They're staying here, they'll be here when you wake up in the morning. Just don't wake them up yourself, they need sleep."
I couldn't agree more as I started drifting off while just standing there, and Kenra had to support me as I rested against his side. She brightened a bit, "Oh okay!" She bowed to the two of us, than went to her room.
Spyro called after her, "I'll be in there in a sec sweetie, make sure to brush your teeth."
Cynder scooped me into one of her forearms gently, as Kenra followed her down the hallway. He looked at her confused, "We pass guest room?"
I noticed as well and looked at her confused, she shook her head, "This little one is sleeping with us, I've learned my lesson." She said protectively referring to me.
"If Kenra wants to use the guest room I won't stop him, but I figure he'd like to be with you Gale." Kenra nodded and continued following.
I yawned, "But-.. we aren't on that continent now right? Isn't this place safe?"
She sighed, and looked at me softly, "You keep having nightmares little one, I want to make sure I can comfort you as well."
I looked downcast at that and nodded slowly, she stopped after noticing my expression. "And no, Gale. You aren't a burden, alright?" She said nuzzling me whilst I was cradled to her chest. I blushed and nodded, and after Spyro got Kaali ready for bed, and Cynder took her turn saying goodnight, I fell asleep in between Cynder's paws again. Though I think Kenra fell asleep outside of her paws in between the two.
I heard a faint almost twinkling sound, I opened my eyes into the inky black void, I recognized it as the same dream space as before. That space with the silver and cyan tree, faded once again into view. I was met with much the same thing happening from before, I felt a pull towards this tree, it fascinated me. Or maybe what the tree meant, and not what it was. I approached it wearily this time, tapping it gently, it cracked and flowed with mysterious lights once again.
The blue wispy lights from last time appeared again, but with a flash of light they scared me for a second. Both the wispy lights, and the tree, almost seemed dimmer than before. I stood dumbfounded at what was transpiring again, was this a recurring dream? Or something else?
"Hello?" I asked timidly.
"Greetings child…" The echoed voice said.
My heart skipped a beat and I felt myself freeze in place, "S-So…" I started shifting awkwardly, "Who are you?"
It seemed to think, almost, before finally answering, "A friend. To you… a promise."
I sighed at the vagueness, "This place is very cool and all, but why am I here? Where is here?"
"This is my realm… Your new realm…"
I sat down, and stared at the ornate stone carved floor. I looked around at the inky black void that surrounded the small island and groaned, "Well. Do you know what is happening to me?"
"Your magic-soul, it is inaccessible. The anti-magic negated the extent at which it was locked. It allowed your body to soak in small amounts of mana. Without it, it is fading."
I stared wide eyed at the tree, and it all came to me, "Is that what keeps me from using the crystals?"
"Yes. If your body had managed to heal those critical wounds, it would've drained all of your mana, locking your soul forever."
Panic rose in me, "L-Locked? Forever? H-How much time do I have?"
"There is still time. The guardians know how to help." It said soothingly.
"How did my soul become locked?" I asked.
"It is no fault of yours. You were brought here from a place without magic, to become a magical being… The mana from your past life, is all you were given. After it fades, so too will your magic-soul."
My breathing calmed and I sighed, "Okay…" I shifted nervously, "Why do you know all of this? About… me?"
It laughed, "I'm always with you, my child."
I felt mildly annoyed. "If some disembodied voice was just going to come and answer all my questions, why didn't you do it sooner?"
"Unfortunately, the anti-magic blocked us from you as well. A lot more then you may suspect, uses up your mana, even dreams like this."
"So, you're using what little magic I have left right now to tell me how to get better... Thank you."
"Of course my child. Be safe."
I nodded slowly, "Wait! Are you… the voice? From when I died? Have you been protecting me all this time? The bright flashes of light too?"
I didn't get an answer. My dream faded from before me, and I woke up. I looked around me curiously. I was still between Cynder's paws. The bright sun rays shined through the window, and I felt my scaled pillow begin to stir. She brought her head up and yawned quietly, rubbing her eyes with the paw I wasn't laying against. She looked down at me and smiled, though her smile slipped further and further down. "G-Gale… you're so pale... Are you okay?"
I stretched my body, and felt very weak in comparison to usual. I looked down to my forearms, they were much duller than before. My legs were shaky as well as my paws, I looked up at her. "I… had a dream."
She looked oddly at me, and I shook my head, "No, I met someone…"
She stared at me in shock, "In a dream? Who did… What did they say?" I could feel her grasp around me tighten, and her voice sounded worried.
"I know what's wrong with me..."
