A/N: My First fanfic, edited by me so there may be some mistakes. I just wanted more Parent fics, so I decided to finally write some myself. (This is gonna be embarrassing, I know it)

Minerva rolled over in bed, fully expecting to find her husband's warm body waiting for her to curl up to. But instead she ended up disappointed when her hands hit the other side of the bed, which was cold from the absence of the usual amused, sleepy-eyed man that was normally there.

She sighed, stretched like the cat she was, and then sat up, placing on her glasses from the bedside table and searching the room for any indication of where her husband had disappeared to.

She quickly found a note on her bedside table, tucked under the small stack of books left there from their occasional evening reading sessions (she loved his voice and could listen to him for hours), unfolding it, she read:

My dearest, loveliest Minerva,

As you know The Prophet has set my interview for today, I do not know why it is so early but at least it gets it out of the way. They have already gotten most of the other war participants (that are still with us, of course). I know you yourself have already done yours (and might I say I enjoyed reading it immensely, my beloved, quite entertaining), but I know that they want one from me too so expect me to need some comfort when I return. Which will be, if these imbeciles want to return home with all their limbs, about four for my free period before my afternoon classes (and I know you are available as well, I helped you with that timetable).

See you then, my love,

Severus McGonagall-Snape xx

Minerva shook her head and sighed, that's right, she had completely forgotten that was today, hopefully it got done quickly so she could see him. She smiled, he'd taken to referring to her as his "dearest loveliest Minerva" ever since a student, a part of a "fan club" their relationship had gained since they had thrown caution to the wind after the war and renewed their vows as soon as Severus had recovered enough to stand on his own for long periods of time, had approached them in the library one afternoon and held out a copy of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice", boldly claiming that their relationship was similar to the main one in the book.

They had dismissed the idea, until Severus has sheepishly presented her with a slightly worn copy one Christmas, saying he had been reading it and begrudgingly admitted that the student was right. Minerva had read it afterwards and had to agree. They had been reading parts of it together most evenings, voicing Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, respectively.

The book become quite a part of their lives, they even acted out the declaration of love moment from the story (he looked so good in that outfit) for their last anniversary.

He had also taken to signing his name in full when corresponding with her, when just a simple "Sev" or the X's he had left as kisses after his name would do, but she knew he delighted in being able to use his married name now the war was over and used it whenever he had the chance to.

She went through her morning routine, a little sad at the idea she actually enjoyed preparing for the day without her husband undoing her work every few seconds after. She adored the man and loved how passionate they were, but they really did have classes to prepare for and being headmistress she had to set an example.

After breakfast in the Great Hall, her quite uneventful for once, morning classes and lunch in her office while marking that morning's work to get it out of the way, she made her way to the dungeons to await her husband's return, as she was slightly early, though he hadn't set a proper time for his return.

Entering his office, (she didn't need a password as he'd set his wards to let her in without it, as she had done for him and her rooms), she was immediately greeted with the beloved, much missed sight of her husband standing before her. He smiled at her and extended his arms out for her to run into, which she did, returning his grin as she did.

"Hello, Tabby." he muttered in her ear as her head rested against his shoulder. "Hello," she whispered back, "I missed you." "I missed you too, I always do as soon as we leave the same room, my love." He returned, lifting her left hand to kiss the ring that now adorned her ring finger instead of a chain around her neck.

She blushed, the way he spoke reminded her of an old muggle tv show that had been around in her early adulthood, she'd caught a few episodes and become obsessed with it but unfortunately the lack of television in the magical world had caused it to become a distant memory. Oh, what was it called now, A…At, no (she half wished Severus would stop kissing her hand a moment so she could think clearly), A, Ad…? Addams! That was it! The Addams Family! The main couple was so full of passion and love for each other but yet not so much it interrupted their day to day lives. They were strong together and accepting of anything, no matter what.

Severus had seen a few re-runs himself and was amazed that his wife knew the same show, becoming delighted at the idea that she would get his references and had even started kissing her obsessively whenever she spoke Scottish (but on her neck not her arm, so she tried to avoid speaking it in public but began using it more when they were alone).

"How did the interview go?" She asked cautiously, moving her head to meet his gaze though keeping her head on his shoulder. "Absolutely terrible," he sighed burying his face in her hair, "but it is thankfully over now, we will just have a few days of non-stop owls from people prying where they are not wanted and then it will drift into history." He muttered. She nuzzled against him, offering him silent comfort in a way that had become second nature to them. She sighed, enjoying the quiet moment.

Which he soon ruined by dipping his head down and beginning to kiss her neck. "Severus…" she said, warningly, while she was enjoying his ministrations, they both had classes to prepare for, he hummed into her neck in answer, moving distractingly closer to the sensitive spot above her collarbone. "Severus, our classes." She tried again, unconsciously tipping her head back to give him better access. "Are not happing yet." He countered before diving back in for more. "Then use this time to prepare." She said, grasping his head gently in her hands, stopping him before he could continue, and as he stood back up, she brought her hand up to fix the stray strands of hair that had fallen out of her bun during their reunion.

He sighed and pouting with an uttered "fine...," turned and started to gather the necessary supplies for the upcoming fifth years he had next. She leant in and kissed his cheek, which he returned with a quick peck on her lips (like the raven he was) and made her way back to her own office to start her own preparation for her third years.

The rest of the day past as uneventful as its beginning for her, much unlike her husband's if his mood at dinner was any indication. He muttered and scoffed every now and then causing her to grab his hand under the table and lean in to ask how he was.

"I'm fine Tab, just the usual imbeciles and their non-existent brains" he answered, not even taking his eyes off his plate and looking so drowsy he might end up face first in it soon.

Not wanting to expose him to the usual clammer of mealtimes in The Great Hall, she quickly finished her own plate and rose to dismiss the staff and student body for the evening.

That done, she pretty much guided her husband back to their rooms (they had joint rooms but kept their original rooms and offices in case they needed space or had something to work on that might potentially be dangerous or a secret, as well as to still keep their relationship separate from their teaching lives even though their vow renewal didn't help that) and after preparing for bed, with much help, or as Minerva jokingly called it, hinderance, from Severus (she admitted, she was just as bad to him) they tumbled into bed, intwined so much they seemed a mess of limbs rather than two people. But they were comfortable, and after a gentle, loving kiss goodnight and quiet "I love you" s, a sleepy "Nox" from Severus put out the lights and they drifted off to sleep.
