Chapter 1483

Let's Follow Them

Young Jesse lifted the Mitchell off the runway smoothly. There was plenty of power and speed when she did. The fuel level was lower and there was no payload. It was a light load.

Savannah was concerned about Cameron. After they were airborne, she unstrapped from the jump seat and went over the bomb bay to join Cameron in the rear fuselage. She could see she was stressed out. She didn't want her to have a problem.

She sat down next to her in the waist gun position. She silently took her left hand. The glitch stopped. She decided not to ask about it. Often when someone experienced a problem, it didn't matter if they were human or a Terminator, it only seemed to make it worse. They sat together silently and looked out the windows of the waist gun position.

Cameron was very pleased when she saw Savannah come over the bomb bay. Savannah always told her she would come for her. Here she was now. Savannah smiled. She sat down next to her. She took her left hand as she sat silently next to her. She was very glad Savannah didn't ask her any questions. She was still bothered by what Camille said. Camille accused her of turning the girls into killers and assassins. It bothered her because it was true.

Young Jesse took the plane through a series of maneuvers and circled back and started to do her 'touch and go' landings and takeoffs. After five of those, she came back and landed. She taxied the Mitchell back to the ramp. There was a fuel truck on its way there right now.

She shut down the engines and she checked the plane over with Young Allison, Camille and Anna. Cameron and Savannah were still in the rear fuselage. They were soon out and joined them.

Earlier:

After Young Jesse took off and started her maneuvers, Savannah smiled at Young Allison and kissed her on the cheek. She got up and went over the crawlway into the rear fuselage where Cameron was at. She noticed Anna sit down next to Young Allison as she left.

It was still very noisy in the rear fuselage. Savannah sat next to Cameron. She smiled at her and took her hand. They sat like that for a while. Savannah unhooked Cameron and moved her so her head lay on her lap. They could look into each other's eyes this way as Savannah stroked Cameron's cheek and hair. They took turns doing this to each other between each 'touch and go'.

Cameron liked how Savannah could 'reach her' without words. Savannah always seemed to be able to connect with her. Just her presence was reassuring and comforting.

It did make Cameron feel bad to know Savannah stayed with her when she'd faced termination before. Savannah didn't need to do it. She did it anyway. Savannah told her she would never abandon her. Savannah didn't need to die with her, or for her.

Savannah made Cameron forget about all her troubles. She didn't deserve Savannah or her love. It should all go to John and Young Allison. No, John didn't deserve Savannah's love either. It should all go to Young Allison. She was her true mate.

Cameron wanted to tell Savannah, but couldn't.

On the final touch and go Cameron and Savannah both laid down on the floorboard as best as they could and held each other close.

Cameron hoped this was where Savannah was going to kiss her. It didn't happen. She could tell how highly sexually aroused Savannah was. She was too. To scan Savannah only made her more aroused herself. With the vibrations of the plane, and Savannah's closeness, She was about to make it. It seemed Savannah did too. Savannah held her tighter as she made it. She made it again as well. All they'd done was hold each other close. There was no kissing, touching or sexual stimulation. Everything was mental, with a little help from the vibrations of the airframe.

She wasn't sure what Savannah was doing with her. It was all very sexual without being sexual. Savannah showed her there was more to life than what happened in bed. It was something she'd always done. It was actually something to be respected and appreciated.

When Savannah was very young, she thought she'd soothed and comforted Savannah in her loss and loneliness. It took her a long time to figure out it was actually the other way around. It was Savannah who was always there for her. No wonder Savannah never gave up on her when everyone else did. Savannah loved her from the very start.

Cameron noticed they were on the ground now. She'd been so caught up in thought she didn't even realize Young Jesse set it down and just shut down the engines. It was a very smooth landing.

Savannah looked deep into her eyes. It made her feel so many feelings and emotions. It was like Savannah 'forced' her to be 'human' in her presence. No, it wasn't 'forced', it was 'allowed'.

"I guess we better get out before they wonder how long we are going to make love to each other." Savannah said.

Cameron looked down. Both Savannah and her were still clothed.

"We didn't do anything." Cameron said.

Savannah was well aware how gossip worked. The Metal girls did as much as the human girls did.

"If we don't get out now, no one is going to believe it." Savannah said.

Cameron smiled and opened the rear hatch. They both dropped down onto the tarmac. They joined the others as Young Jesse inspected the plane.

A fuel tanker was on its way.

Jesse moved up on her knees and over the top of Claire. They could kiss while John moved in behind her.

Claire was in a deep kiss with Jesse when she could feel John move in. The kiss grew more passionate. It was good for her, while John did all the work.

She could feel Jesse about to make it with her kiss. It grew more intense and deeper. It made Claire wonder if Jesse was like this every time she made it. She was usually at a different part of her body. This was something else. She could feel John stayed with it and drove Jesse a little further and deeper. It made her excitement level build and when Jesse made it again, she did too. She was sure Jesse and her were going to melt together and be as one. It may have been the best kiss ever.

Riley looked around and entered John's room. She was already highly aroused from just being with Sarah. She didn't think it would hurt to knock one off with John. She entered the room. Right away could hear there was already some love making happening. It further aroused her. Maybe they could make it a 'three way'. She was sure when she joined whoever was in there with John, he would knock one off with her almost immediately. She knew he probably wouldn't last long, but it didn't matter. She would probably make it herself as soon as he touched her.

She quietly moved up to the corner and looked in. She could see Jesse on top of Claire and they passionately kissed each other. It just looked hot. Then she noticed the slight rhythmic movement of Jesse's body. She looked a little further around the corner and saw John was behind Jesse. She wished she was Jesse right now.

Riley watched them a little longer. She needed to touch herself. She felt her excitement level build. When Jesse made it, so did she. She was going to stop, but John didn't. He kept going. So did she. When Jesse and Claire made it again, she did too.

She figured she'd better get out of there before she messed something up. It was clear the three of them wanted to be together. She hurried to the door and carefully looked outside. It looked clear so she slipped out.

Seconds ago:

Precious finished the bottle and didn't want any more. Samantha burped her and moved to the door to look out. Her top was still open but she didn't remember. She wanted to see what was happening.

She saw John's door open slowly. She moved back some. Riley's head popped out. She looked around and hurried away from the room.

'I caught you, again.' Samantha thought.

She moved back inside the nursery and took Precious to her crib in her room. She quickly buttoned her top. She was going to simulate standby when she remembered the bottle. She hurried and retrieved it. She didn't want Riley to start using one. She liked Vanna and Jesse to come around. She would have to wash it and take it back to the commissary later.

She heard Riley enter. Soon her head popped in the door. Riley came over and looked at Precious. Precious was actually still awake and looked at Samantha in the dim light.

Riley picked Precious up.

Samantha came out of 'standby'.

"Everything is fine." Samantha said.

Riley seemed a little startled.

"I'm sorry." Samantha said.

Riley made a quick recovery.

"It's fine." Riley said.

Samantha started to scan Riley.

Riley knew Samantha was going to tell she was highly sexually aroused. She didn't want Samantha to scan her right now.

"I'm fine." Riley said as she moved away.

'You can't fool me.' Samantha thought.

Samantha didn't want to take things too far. She wanted to redirect the conversation.

"Everything was good when Jesse left." Samantha said.

She spotted Riley look quickly at her when she mentioned Jesse.

"That's good." Riley said.

Samantha thought about tracking down Claire herself.

"Maybe I'll leave you two alone for a while." Samantha said.

Samantha wondered if Riley shouldn't do more for Precious anyway. It was her daughter after all.

Summer was tied up with the operations and needed to find a way to protect Leticia. She was aware where Riley came from and went into. It was one thing she decided not to deal with now. People were going to do what they wanted sooner or later. There were more important things happening right now.

Sheila was the first one out of the back of the van. She'd used a lot of force to open the door. She was aware she'd hit the man hard who'd opened the door. She was sure she heard bones break from the impact. She grabbed him and moved him inside the building. She saw Hanna and Ally put the grab on two more men who were there.

Cam and Cammy went around them and into the building.

Gail and Holly were at the back of the other van. They opened it up and Gail pulled a man out of the back and carried him by his neck like they all held their captives. It looked like Holly would deal with the prisoners in the back of the van.

Cammy and Cam brushed past the men being detained and entered the building. There was no one else present at first.

Cam felt she had a personal score to settle. She never liked the receptionist from the first moment she saw her. She didn't like the wayshe'd told her what she was going to need to do. She intended to collect.

"I'm going to get the skank receptionist." Cam said. "She's in on all this. She's an enabler."

Cam took off in the direction of the front. Cammy continued on her way. She heard the others enter the building behind her. She moved down the hall. Two men came out of a room. They looked like hired muscle. They were both armed. They reached for weapons in shoulder holsters. Cammy fired her silenced M9 twice. Two were already down. She kept moving.

One more man came out of the last room. He took one look at what was unfolding and tried to go back in the room. Cammy was already there and grabbed him. She flung him back and he crashed halfway through the wall in the hall. He didn't move but was suspended halfway in and out of the wall.

Cammy looked in the last room.

There were ten beds in there. There were females tied to three of them. Cammy looked them over for injuries, it was clear they'd all been abused. They were strung out on drugs right now.

Cammy looked back and saw Cam was back. She drug the bodies of the two men she'd shot behind her. The other Metal girls all arrived with their new charges. Cammy checked the man half in and out of the wall. His neck hung at a crazy angle. He wasn't going anywhere.

"Put everyone in here and bring those females out." Cammy said.

Sheila looked at the four live male captives. There was a look of anticipation on her face.

"I'll take care of this part." Sheila said.

Cammy looked around.

"Where's the receptionist?" Cammy asked.

Cam was very disappointed she wasn't there.

"She was gone." Cam said.

"Where did she go?" Cammy Ask

"She was just gone." Cam said.

Cammy turned her attention back to the others.

"We'll find her later on." Cammy said.

Cam had a good idea.

"I believe she left earlier in the other florist van." Cam said

CamNet updated them as to where the other van was. She informed them about the suspicious sedan on its way. She made no mention of Leticia. She didn't want the team distracted. She wanted them to finish their current job.

Summer heard the transmission and watched the footage.

It was time to make a decision. She decided to act.

She directed Bob's team to go back up Leticia and Jim's team to acquire the sedan.

She took control of one of their drones too. It was fully armed.

Holly looked over the three girls in the van. They were all strung out right now. There were three empty syringes on the floor of the van. Holly made sure everything was good behind her and untied the three females.

Cammy, Cam and Gail each carried out another girl who was strung out on drugs. They were dressed with a top and pants now.

Holly wondered what was going to happen next.

"What do you want to do with them?" Holly asked.

Cammy looked at the freed girls. Normally they try to put them in a location where they could seek help if they wanted it, especially medical care. They tried not to get directly involved once the girls were free.

"Gail and you can take them to the hospital." Cammy said. "Leave the van near the emergency room. CamNet can call it in if necessary. None of them is in serious condition. When they come around, they can seek medical treatment if they want it."

Holly wasn't sure how much help any of them would seek, especially from the authorities.

"These girls are just doped too." Holly said. "We know they try to stay off the radar since most of them have priors and outstanding warrants."

Cam didn't see it as a problem. Half of them would end up back in another place like this within a year or two, assuming they didn't OD or terminate for another reason. There was a better than even chance of it happening.

"We can leave it up to them if they want help, or to fade back into the woodwork." Cam said. "We did our part. They need to think about their own futures going forward."

Holly looked back at the building.

"What's happening inside?" Holly asked.

Gail looked back in the direction of the door.

"I doubt you really want to know." Gail said. "Sheila asked us to leave."

Holly knew how cruel and sadistic Sheila could be when she dealt with sex traffickers. It was from her 'neural interface' with Jesse. She would rather do a simple termination. She understood Sheila liked to enact justice. There needed to be some punishment before their termination, even if it was only a few minutes. There were other issues to deal with.

"What about the other location?" Holly asked.

Cam still felt the need to settle a personal score.

"Cammy and I are headed there now." Cam said. "The skank receptionist drove the other van over to the florist shop before we arrived."

Gail and Holly drove away in the other van with the six drugged females inside it.

Cam and Cammy got back in the florist van. They needed to wait for the rest of the girls to come out. They were ready to roll now.

Summer watched what went down from the body cams. She was about to watch Sheila go to 'work'. It was time to set some priorities. Some things mattered more. She felt CamNet delayed long enough to inform Sheila about her friend. It was time to set the record straight.

"Sheila, Leticia is at the other location on her own. She's on foot. She's at the florist shop. I think she's looking for you." Summer said. "I sent Bob's team to intercept her."

Sheila was just about to start in on the men. Summer's report disturbed her greatly.

"What?" Sheila asked.

Summer quickly filled her in.

"Torch this place." Sheila said. "We need to go right now."

She heard Sheila act and watched as Sheila went to each of the men and smashed her fist into their face. It looked like it sank in about four inches on each of them. When she came back down the hall, she hit the man still half in the wall too. His body finished its journey through to the other side of the wall and into the next room.

Ally and Hanna tossed Thermite grenades in four of the rooms as they left. They followed Sheila out. CamNet indicated all emergency response would be delayed and rerouted.

The florist van was ready to leave when Sheila, Ally and Hanna ran out to join Cam and Cammy.

Summer filled them in as well. They knew the other Metal girls were on their way out.

Cam floored it and the van took off as soon as the side door closed.

Summer watched everything from the body cams and surveillance footage. She called for the drones to prepare for a 'fire' mission.

She was done being a spectator. If CamNet wanted to see her act, she would. She was already in motion. Whenever she hit, she hit hard.

Bob's team received the notification to act.

Allison was surprised by who began to issue instructions.

"That was Summer." Allison said.

Vanna knew where things were headed and what the underlying issue was.

"She shouldn't be wrapped up in this kind of an operation." Vanna said.

Summer was Bob's favorite. He decided to point out the obvious. They were in route now because of Summer's actions to help someone.

"The girl from the ship may be in danger." Bob said. "No one else made the call to assist her. Summer always makes the right move."

Allison was previously told to be careful what she wished for. She didn't know what they were about to face. It didn't matter, they would face it anyway.

"We wanted some action." Allison said. "It looks like we just got some."

Vanna didn't like to see females abused. She knew what it was like.

"If we find any detained females there, or they grab Leticia, I'm going to hurt some people." Vanna said. "I'm going to personally do it. Someone needs to take a stand."

Bob felt the fate of the perpetrators was already sealed.

"They will all be terminated." Bob said.

There was a cold look on Vanna's face. She carried a special dislike for this type of crime against females. There needed to be some retribution and punishment before death for the perpetrators.

"Oh, I know that." Vanna said. "I'm still going to hurt them first."

Allison looked over at Vanna. She knew it was personal to her. She didn't want to see the worst come out in Vanna. It wasn't her usual disposition or something she normally did, especially in the past, the present.

"We don't know what's happening yet." Allison said.

Vanna wanted to know.

"We will soon enough." Vanna said.

Bob hurried to arrive at the location.

Jim's team was given instructions on a black sedan. It was headed for one of the two locations. It turned out to be the florist shop.

Derek and Kyle were ready for action.

Jim was made aware of everything else going on by Summer. He filled Derek and Kyle in as necessary.

Kyle was aware of some of the 'run ins' which happened with the Syndicate before.

"Do we know if this is Syndicate related?" Kyle asked.

Jim wasn't really sure if it mattered or not. There were many heads to a Hydra.

"No." Jim said. "It will be some kind of organized crime. We just don't know what it is yet."

Derek was targeted by the Syndicate thugs a few times. They all 'slept with the fishes' now. He didn't have a very high opinion of them. It was actually about as low as it could go.

"I ran into a few scrapes with them." Derek said. "They're nothing more than fancy Scavengers."

Kyle knew the only good Scavenger was a dead Scavenger. It didn't matter if they were 'fancy' or not.

"It's all I needed to hear." Kyle said.

Derek wanted to know how extensive the operation was going to be. It could take several different directions.

"Are we just going to pop them, or do we try to gather any intel?" Derek asked.

Jim wanted any threat eliminated first.

"What they do when we intercept them will determine their fate." Jim said.

Derek and Kyle wanted some action. It looked like it was going to happen.

Mary and Laura knew the best option was to cut and run.

They couldn't do it. They couldn't write Leticia off. They couldn't leave her to an unknown fate. Leticia stood tall for them when they were accosted in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. She was willing to sacrifice herself for them so they could escape. Now Leticia wanted to try to help 'Sue'.

Mary felt responsible for getting them mixed up in everything. She should have left well enough alone. She didn't. Now Leticia was out on her own.

Laura spotted the van with Gail and Holly in it. She was very surprised to see it pass in front of them.

"Hey, there's Lisa and Mysti." Laura said.

Mary noticed it wasn't the same van they were in earlier. It didn't really make any sense. Either way, it was where they were at now.

"It's a different van." Mary said.

Laura wanted to see where they went.

"Let's follow them." Laura said.

Mary made a decision.

"I think it's a good idea." Mary said. "You do it and tell them we need help."

Mary quickly pulled over to the curb. She got out on the driver's side.

Laura was a little stunned by her action.

"Where are you going?" Laura asked.

Mary felt responsible for everything happening to them. She needed to do something about it.

"I need to go after Leticia." Mary said.

Laura slid over behind the wheel.

"I understand." Laura said. "Be careful."

Mary wanted Laura to hurry before they got too far away.

"Go before you lose them." Mary said. "Make sure they understand we need help."

Laura took off. She hooked her safety belt as she pulled into traffic. She quickly moved out after Gail and Holly who she knew as 'Lisa' and 'Mysti'.

She had them in sight when the light turned yellow.

DAMN!

She wasn't going to make it unless she ran the red light. There were cars in front of her and on the one side. Much to her surprise the light turned green from yellow. It was a first. Then she remembered the rogue super computer which could control everything. It must be what this was. She moved into the parking lane and passed two cars to get closer to 'Lisa' and 'Mysti'.

She briefly remembered something about a 'good' super computer created to fight the rogue one. Maybe it was who was assisting her. Maybe she was about to be set up. Now she wondered what was inside the van.

She looked in her rear view mirror. She didn't see Mary any longer. She was really worried about her. She was worried about Leticia too. Right now she was worried about herself as well. She didn't know where anything was going, nor what the conclusion would be.

Leticia passed by the parked florist van. It looked like the one the girls were in before. It was painted the same anyway. There was no sign of the girls.

She moved up to the front of the building. It was locked. It seemed like it should be open. She went around to the side and there was a fence there. She passed across the front of the building and looked down the other side. There was a gate on this side. The gate was locked.

She would have to go past two other buildings to get to the alley to come in the back way. She'd experienced some bad times in alleys before. It was still daylight so what could happen?

She went to hurry in the direction of the alley when she heard a muffled scream from inside the building.

She'd heard all she needed to hear. Someone was in trouble. It was a scream from a female. It made her think about the person she cared about the most.

"Sue…." Leticia said.

She broke into a run to get around to the back.

Her phone still didn't work. She wished she would have taken Mary's old one with her. She didn't really know what she was going to do, but she needed to do something. How all this was going to end was unknown and probably not good for anyone, especially her.

CamNet watched everything unfold once the people were 'on their own'. The choices they made mattered. It showed who they really were inside. This was a test. A lot of things could go wrong.

CamNet's Terminator was directed to a new location. It was related to the ongoing incident with the Resistance group.

The Terminator arrived near the location. He stopped down the street and looked at it. It was a building in a row of other buildings. It was the only one which didn't have a name on it.

There was no activity in the front of the building. The drone with him didn't show any activity near the rear of it either.

CamNet's Terminator decided he would go in the front door. It's what Terminators did after all.

The Gray reached over and touched his weapon. If the bikers wanted to 'dance', he was game. He was ready to show them how it was done in the future.

The sudden appearance of the rest of the motorcycle gang was not what he wanted to see. He quickly put some distance between him and the bikers. He checked his rear view mirror a few times to make sure they weren't following him.

The Gray planned to reach his destination before it was dark.

CamNet's female Terminators continue their slow ride forward. They watched the Gray pull out of the gas station. The direction he went wasn't what they wanted to see. There was one other thing they wanted to see even less.

Lena watched as the Gray took a different route than they were on.

"It looks like we're going to have to be in back of him now." Lena said.

Tina didn't like the fact they were on the wrong route now.

"We need to turn around." Tina said.

The drone image showed something else. There were five motorcycles now headed in their direction.

Lena looked at the zoomed in drone image. One of the motorcycles carried two men.

"Those are the six individuals who looked at me in the gas station." Lena said.

Tina checked her weapons.

"I knew we should have taken care of them earlier." Tina said.

CamNet directed Tina and Lena to continue on their slow ride forward. They would need to wait for the female Fanatic to make her move and turn after the Gray. They also needed to determine what the rest of the group of bikers was going to do.

The female Fanatic was sure they were on a one way trip. It didn't seem wise to her to attempt to get gas with the group of bikers at the station. They watched the direction the Gray went. It was what her objective was. She would deal with anything else which got in the way of it.

"I think we should skip the gas station at this point." The female Fanatic said.

Jill agreed with her. She didn't see any way they wouldn't be accosted in some manner, even in a public place.

"I didn't care for the way the last four bikers looked us over." Jill said. "I really thought they were going to follow us here."

The female Fanatic didn't think they were done with them yet. She didn't want to alarm Jill more than necessary.

"Go ahead and drive along the back of the hardware store." The female Fanatic said. "I think it will take us over to the next street which the Gray is on.

Right before Jill pulled forward they saw five of the bikes head off in the direction they'd been going.

"I hope they'll go that way." Jill said.

The female Fanatic wasn't sure what would happen. There could be another target they'd observed and they sent a smaller group after them to get it. It was noted one of the motorcycles had two of the men on it. It was something she noticed earlier on a few of the motorcycles when they'd passed.

She was pretty sure the reason for it, was so they could stop someone along the highway and have one of the riders, who was the passenger, drive the vehicle away along with its occupants or whatever the vehicle carried.

Jill drove along the side of the hardware store to the back of it. There was a narrow alley. It was paved. She drove along the back of the hardware store and across the parking lot next to the hotel. She crossed between the hotel parking lot and the diner. She glanced over and could see all the bikers inside of the gas station. She could see several of them look over in their direction before she passed behind the diner.

"I think they saw us." Jill said.

The female Fanatic noticed the same thing.

"Let's hope they go the other way." The female Fanatic said.

She checked the map to see where the route the Gray was on now led. There was nothing of significance indicated on the map. There were no other crossroads either. She was sure there were plenty of dirt roads along the way. She thought they would be good on fuel at least until the next junction occurred. It was several hours away on the route the Gray was on.

Jill pulled up to the highway and paused. She looked in the direction the Gray went. She could see a vehicle off in the distance. It looked like he was moving at a faster speed now.

"It looks to me like he wants to get away from the bikers as well." Jill said.

She pulled onto the highway and opened it up a little. She wanted to keep him in sight.

The female Fanatic could tell the Gray was in a hurry now. She continuously looked behind them to see what happened with the rest of the bikers. She hoped to see them cross over the highway they were on and go in the direction they'd been going.

They went over a few small hills. Whatever was behind them was obscured. She wouldn't be able to see what was coming from a long distance now.

The female Fanatic and Jill kept the Gray in sight. They didn't know what was behind them.

Temporal Mission:

Past Timeline:

November 22 1963

Cameron could see there was a nearby hotel. It didn't appear to be the greatest, but it was close to where they were at and where they wanted to go.

Young Allison got in the passenger seat.

Cameron took over the wheel of the T-Bird and headed towards it.

It was a short drive to the hotel. She parked on the side.

Cameron went to the front desk. She didn't like the way the desk clerk looked them over.

They had a brief discussion about a room. What happened in Dallas was mentioned a few times. He asked about their luggage.

Young Allison told him they would bring it in later. She said they wanted to get a bite to eat and maybe look around a little bit.

The desk clerk indicated there was a small eating establishment associated with the hotel.

Cameron told him they would probably use it in the morning.

The desk clerk gave them a set of keys and told them how to get to the room.

They went up to the room and looked at it. There were two single beds in the room.

"I think it's fine." Young Allison said.

Cameron would have preferred if there would have been a double bed. It didn't really matter since she didn't sleep. There were a few things she wanted to take care of during the night. She would wait until Young Allison was asleep.

Young Allison thought about taking a shower. She didn't feel like it right now. She was pretty sure once she did, she would want to lie down and not get back up. She could feel the after effects of the temporal transfer. Cameron told her John referred to it as 'time lag'. She decided to keep it simple. She washed her face off in the sink. It took a long time for the hot water to arrive. When it did, it was really hot. She wiped down her arms and legs.

Cameron did the same thing. She checked her appearance in the mirror. She thought it was sufficient for where they were at.

They left their janitorial uniforms in the room. The only thing they carried in their purses were their firearms. They both had quick access to them.

"Do you want to get something to eat?" Cameron asked.

Young Allison touched her tummy area.

"I don't really feel hungry, to tell you the truth." Young Allison said. "I think it's one of the after effects of the energy ball."

Cameron was aware all of the humans experienced the same thing. She resisted the urge to scan Young Allison. She'd done so in the hotel room before they'd left.

"Do you want to drive to the Alamo or walk?" Cameron asked.

Young Allison thought the walk might do her some good. She'd been in the car for several hours.

"It's only about a half a mile." Young Allison said. "It won't take us long to get there."

They needed to cross several streets to reach it. There weren't very many people out.

They reached the location of the compound where what remained was located.

Young Allison studied all of the battles from the past. She always thought it would help her plan for warfare in the future. She needed to know what would work and what wouldn't work. From what she'd studied, there was a lot which didn't work.

"A lot of people died here." Young Allison said. "One side was approximately out numbered twenty to one. The one side lost one hundred eighty two men. The other side lost approximately sixteen hundred. The details were hidden. It was a kill ratio of about nine to one."

Cameron wasn't sure if the kill ratio was worth the cost. All of the defenders died but a handful. They were promptly executed by the victors of the battle.

"What's the lesson?" Cameron asked.

Young Allison thought about what was gained. It was nothing. The real gain was the loss of the men. It caused the other groups of settlers to push harder and win the independence of Texas. They now had something to fight for, along with a battle cry. It was, 'Remember The Alamo'.

"The location had little strategic value." Young Allison said. "The defenders should have retreated. They didn't. The reason why they didn't retreat was because they expected reinforcements to arrive. Their superiors never sent them."

Cameron was aware of more than one battle which suffered the same fate for the same reasons. There was always someone in charge who didn't want to commit more troops when they were needed. Maybe the reinforcements would have been terminated as well. Maybe the arrival of the reinforcements would have broken the back, and the will, of the attacking troops. It was basically what occurred with the follow up battles later on.

They toured the premises and looked at the exhibits. The main building at the time was the one they were in. It was part of a mission which was never actually completed. They were diagrams, maps and dioramas which showed the building they were in was actually part of a much larger compound. Little else remained.

Young Allison looked at one exhibit which showed a knife Davy Crockett was reported to have carried. There was another one which showed one containing a 'Bowie knife'.

"I bet Sheila would like to carry a knife like that with her all of the time." Young Allison said. "Now that's a knife."

Cameron remembered when Jesse told her why she carried a knife. The 'neural interface' with Sheila transferred over the same desire. Jesse told her a knife was good in close combat. She could stab a number of people in a matter of seconds. She didn't have to worry about a firearm jamming in such close contact.

She looked at the knife in the display case. She could see it had a clip point and a long length. It almost reminded her of a short sword.

"The truth behind the Bowie knife is Jim Bowie wasn't actually the designer, even if he was the one who used it." Cameron said. "His brother is the one who constructed it for him."

They looked around for about an hour until they decided to leave.

They left the area and passed by several local eating establishments.

"Do you want to try some food here?" Cameron asked.

There was the loud sound of an air horn near them. They both looked over and saw a freight train passing through. It wasn't going too fast as it passed the area by where the station was.

"Are we going to hear the same sound all night?" Young Allison asked.

Cameron figured it was why the room was so cheap.

"Yes." Cameron said. "We can always drive to a further hotel if you want."

Young Alison didn't care for the way the desk clerk looked at them.

"I doubt they would give us our money back." Young Allison said.

Cameron wasn't so sure.

"I can be very persuasive when I need to be." Cameron said. "More than a few people have found out the hard way."

Young Allison wondered how many people Cameron terminated over the years. She was pretty sure she was responsible for more deaths worldwide than Cameron was in several futures. Most of hers weren't direct terminations. They were a result of pitting the Syndicate against the Cartel all around the globe. The only continent not affected was Antarctica.

They entered the eating establishment. Young Allison got a small meal. Cameron only ordered some ice cream. She tried a small taste before she gave it to Young Allison for dessert. They left when they were done.

Cameron and Young Allison headed back towards the hotel. They heard the sound of another freight train going in the opposite direction as they walked. It seemed even louder.

Let's Follow Them

There are those who lead
There are those who follow
It's not much of a surprise
Who are the one's that swallow

Does coming in second place
Really just mean a first place loser
Some would rather be
A shaker instead of a mover

Who are the ones
Who get to make the rules
All the others must play by
Aren't they really just fools

The majority are out of their league
They aren't even a contender
When they play the game
They're nothing but a pretender

Those who speak the loudest
Are the ones who don't condemn
They set a good example
Let's follow them

Nobody
