Chapter 1

Here we have the beginning of Runeas Gremory being the King of Issei Hyoudou. This Issei will have a different Sacred Gear that's an OC crafted by a good friend of mine, D'nnome. Check out his stories, like the Rose Dragon Empress and a few others. They are amazing.

Now let's get this party started!

It was a cold, quiet evening with the folks in their homes sleeping in the night unbeknownst to the danger that resides in the darkness of this cruel world they live in as it had taken the life of an innocent boy who knew nothing about the world and yet was tied up in it as he was forced to have his heart destroyed emotionally and physically for within the park of a small town in Japan. A brown-haired boy was slumped back against a fountain in the garden as it looked like he might've fallen asleep. Still, should one look at the boy's body, they would've seen his clothes coated in blood with a hole in his chest, his eyes cold and lifeless, his skin not giving out the warmth his mother and father loved about their son, worst of all the hole in his chest showed that there was nothing there but a destroyed heart. The boy was none other than Issei Hyoudou, a simple 17-year-old high schooler who was going on a date with a girl whom he believed had lived with him, but it was all a lie as it turned out that the woman was nothing but a deceitful woman who abused the poor boy's emotions and killed him at the end of the date and left him bleeding and dead in the park. Indeed a tragic lot of a soul who only wished to find a woman who would love and accept him for who he is. Fate was ruthless, but just one tiny change was able to make a difference in the future of the boy that was now dead.

It had been 2 hours since the death of Issei Hyoudou until suddenly, a pamphlet fell from the bits pocket, and a red teleportation circle had burst from out of nowhere. A powerful crimson aura leaked through the teleportation circle. Soon enough, someone appeared over the top of the random teleportation circle.

"Mmmm~! Oh my! After being asleep for another 100 years, I never expected to be summoned! Kyah~! It feels like it's been forever!"

A girl said as she stretched her body before looking to see the boy's dead body, which made her gasp in fright from the corpse until she looked at his body. "By Lucifer's name h-he's…..dead?" Runeas said as she felt her hands shiver in fear as she recalled memories of countless people she fought alongside who died in the war; she clenched her fists tightly until she breathed deeply as she walked to the boy and checked the condition he was in. "Two hours. That's good. He still has skin and isn't decomposed, so I can still save him." Runeas said as she began to pour magic into his body as she gritted her teeth. "Not again. I won't let anyone die this time."

As Runeas poured her magic into him, desperate to keep her first summoner alive, her pupils suddenly dilated in horror. "I-It's not... working?"

Runeas saw the blood on her hands as she let her aura flare out a bit. "No. Nononononono! I won't let someone die because I cannot do anything again!" She yelled as she opened a teleportation circle and picked him up bridal style, gasping slightly from his weight. "Oh boy, he's a heavy human." She said as she carried him through the circle and went to the one person she knew who could help him.

As she exited the circle, she kicked the front door open as Zeoticus and Venelana looked at Runeas as she was carrying Issei on her back.

"Zeoticus. Pieces. Healing. Now!"

Venelana's eyes widened before Zeoticus immediately ran over to Runeas. "R-Runeas-Sama?! What are you doing up so early?!" "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR QUESTIONS!!" Zeoticus noticed Runeas was flaring her aura, her womanly voice replacing her childlike voice. "Now get me those Evil Piece things, NOW!!"

Zeoticus nodded as he took Runeas to their healing room and brought out an Evil Piece set under Runeas's name; she looked at the pieces before Zeoticus examined the boy. "A Holy Spear destroyed his heart. He lost way too much blood and will need a blood transfusion along with the reincarnation. I can try to find his blood type, but we don't have the time." Zeoticus said as Runeas walked to him and held her arm out. "Use my blood. He summoned me, and I'll be damned if he dies because of me." She said as she recalled a small child smiling at her even as she was dying in her arms.

"Please. I've let many people die because of me, and I don't want a human child to die because of my weakness."

Zeoticus' eyes softened before turning to Venelana by the entrance. "...Get Sirzechs, Grayfia, and my mother. They're needed for this." Venelana nodded before swiftly summoning a teleportation circle and disappearing along with it. Zeoticus then quickly summoned a communication circle to his ear. "Heinrich, I need you to grab some supplies for a blood transfusion." [Understood Zeoticus-Sama.]

The family came together as Zeoticus, Runeas, and Heinrich stayed near the boy while undergoing the transfusion and reincarnation as Venelana explained the situation to them all. "And that's what happened. It would seem that this boy unknowingly had one of Runeas's summoning papers and brought her to his cold dead body. Right now, he's stable, but we won't know what'll happen to him once they come out." Venelana said as Sirzechs, Grayfia, and Zeoticus's mother were shocked to hear this from the head of the family.

Sirzechs sighed. "This would only happen to our ancestors." Grayfia sighed heavily. "For once, we can agree on something." Chysis looked on worriedly as Zeoticus looked after Issei and Runeas during the transfusion. "That poor boy, I do hope he'll be alright."

And as if Satan had heard their worries, Zeoticus came out with Heinrich as they sat on the chairs and sighed before Zeoticus spoke to them. "A destroyed heart. Losing 3/4ths of his blood. His body was cold to the touch, and he had a pierced lung. Were it not for the reincarnation and the blood transfusion, and he wouldn't have survived. However, he's no longer human. His Sacred Gear seemed to have saved him, but I'm unaware of what it is. Runeas is dizzy and drained from the transfusion and will be out for a bit, but she'll bounce back. She always does."

Everyone sighed in relief, but Venelana couldn't help but think aloud. "But how did that young man get Runeas' pamphlet, the only one that sorts them is-." Everyone's eyes widened before they said the name they were thinking all at once. "RIAS!!"

Zeoticus held a hand up as she spoke to them. "Before you all get upset at Rias, I called her, asking her why a boy in her territory had a summoning pamphlet with him. It would appear that she was keeping an eye on the boy after the Fallen made contact with him, and due to the peace treaty, she couldn't interfere without evidence of what she was doing in the town without upsetting the Grigori. Rias said that she ran our usual pamphlets but then found one more hidden in a box she found in a closet. She recognized it as the Gremory Symbol and decided to give it to him in hopes he would summon her."

Venelana sighed. "Sirzechs, remind me why you asked your father and me not to tell Rias about Runeas?" Sirzechs chuckled nervously. "I didn't think Rias would like how much Runeas likes camels since she's afraid of them."

Venelana smacked the back of his head, making the Super Devil wince at the smack from his mother until she sighed into her hand. "Okay. We know now how Runeas came into contact with the boy, but there's still a problem. He's labeled as dead." Venelana said as she showed a file that she picked up from the Human World when she learned of the boy's family. "I want to go and inform his parents that he's alive and well, but that'll create some problems with the small town as they would be curious to learn how a boy had blood on his clothes and no injuries on his body."

Zeoticus scratched the back of his head before slamming his fist on the wall near him. "Dammit! As if things couldn't get any worse!"

Sirzechs pondered this before he voiced his own opinion. "Perhaps….Grayfia and I can talk to them? If we explain the situation their son is into Runeas, then I'm sure they'll understand the circumstances he's in." The Crimson Lucifer reasoned as Zeoticus sighed but nodded with his son as he sent him and Grayfia to speak to the boy's parents as he felt his wife come and hug him close to her body.

"I know you feel sorry for the boy, but we'll have to make the best of it and help him understand the situation he's now on," Venelana said as Zeoticus agreed with her. "I hope he'll be prepared and ready for what'll happen to him now."

A Few Days Later…..

Issei was lying asleep until he woke up to see that he was in a dark place until a familiar feeling came to life as he was speared in the heart again as he heard laughter all around him. Issei freaked out as he saw multiple black feathers fly around him until he looked to see that terrifying smile of the woman who gave him nightmares to no end.

"Why Hello, Issei-Kun. Want to wake up and play with me again?" Raynare asked with a loud cackle as Issei yelled in fear as she sent more and more spears to kill him until he woke up with a gasp.

"AH!"

Issei panted heavily as he steadied his heartbeat until he looked to see that he was in an unknown room decorated in the colors red and gold before noticing he was in a fancy bed with beautiful crimson sheets; he let out a nervous laugh before he slowly got up. "Phew. It-It was all a dream. Thank you, God, for that." Issei said until he felt a slight headache but shrugged it off as stress. "Oh, Shit! I need to tell Mom and Dad that I was out late. They'll be worried sick."

Before Issei could even get up, he immediately felt someone grab him by his arm and pull him back down onto the bed. "W-What in the?!" Issei stopped mid-sentence upon seeing the most beautiful person he had ever laid eyes on.

The woman was wearing a simple crimson silk nightgown as she looked at Issei with a sleepy look. "Hello, Issei. Sleep well? I should hope so after the shit you were in when I found you."

Issei wondered what the woman meant until he remembered Raynare and his last thoughts before he died. "Y-You heard my prayer?" Runeas shook her head as she replied to the shocked boy. "Not a prayer. I believe you summoned me."

Issei's mind returned to that hot woman in a Devil cosplay giving him some advanced-looking pamphlet. "T-That pamphlet that woman gave me... it summoned you?"

Runeas nodded as she sat up on the bed. "Okay, look, I know you have many questions right now, but I'm not the next one to ask them, so I'll have one of my Descendants do it for me. Sirzechs! Are you there, or did your wife drag you away?"

"I-I did no such thing, Runeas-Sama!"

"Hahaha, we're here, Runeas-Sama. May we come in?"

"You may!" Runeas said as both Sirzechs and Grayfia came into the room. Issei looked at the two of them and then Runeas until he saw the similarity between them. "Wait. Your Descendant is this guy, but how's that possible? You look like you are a year younger than me."

Runeas giggled lightly before her childish voice changed into a more mature and seductive woman's voice. "You'd be surprised to learn how old I am, dear boy~." She said as Issei was surprised by the change of tone until he asked a simple question.

"So you are like as old as my dead grandpa?" He asked as he was then met with a punch to the head by Runeas, blushing in embarrassment while Grayfia and. Sirzechs stifled their laughter which pissed her off even more.

Sirzechs pulled up a seat next to Issei and sighed. "Issei Hyoudou. What happened to you was real, but you are alive. However, due to your injuries, we had to take some drastic measures. I'm afraid you are no longer human. You are now a Devil."

Issei seemed shocked by this before Runeas pulled him to his feet and moved the curtain to show him the outside world. "This is the Gremory Territory, one of the many areas in the entire Underworld, and you are currently in the Gremory Castle."

Issei looked out of the window and was shocked at what he saw. An entire civilization and many Devils flying or walking as he then realized something more substantial. "Lady Runeas. Lord Sirzechs. I'm grateful, but I can't stay here forever. I-I have a family back in the Human World. Can't I go back to Kuoh Town?"

Sirzechs put a hand up to stop his rambling as he nodded. "Yes. We know about your family, and they thought you were dead or missing due to your missing for three days."

The fact shocked Issei as he replied shakily. "B-But t-that's impossible! The date was on Sunday! H-How-"

Grayfia hugged Issei into her arms as Issei couldn't help but cry into the woman's arms as her hug felt gentle and warm, but her skin was cool to the touch. As he wept into the woman's arms, both Runeas and Sirzechs both pitied the poor boy for all that he lost. His heart. His humanity. And almost his family.

Sirzechs explained that they could stop his parents from causing any more panic and told them that Issei was hit by a drunk driver and in a terrible accident where he was nearly dead had it not been for the Phoenix's medical center providing them with the tools they needed. The Hyoudou parents were grateful for their son being alive and asked to see him, so he did.

The Phoenix Family had many medical facilities in the Human Realm, so they asked them to use the hospital in Kuoh Town, which Lord and Lady Phoenix allowed but with one twist.

"The only way they would accept this was to have you engaged to their daughter," Sirzechs said as Issei was shocked before yelling at the top of his lungs.

"W-What! Engaged?! But I'm only 17! Plus, I don't even know who this girl is!?" Issei said as Grayfia called him down with a lap pillow which somehow took all of his stress away and made Runeas smile at him.

"That's true, but that was the arranged agreement. You and the daughter of the Phoenix family will be engaged to be married after you graduate, and as your King, I shall teach you the ways of being a Devil and a future husband for your future wife." Runeas said as she patted her chest, which made Issei surprised at the tiny woman before him until he found himself transported to the hospital room that he was staying in.

Issei was amazed by the interior design of the hospital room as he looked to see that Runeas was still with him, and the new occupant of the room was looking at both of them as she seemed to be a bit curious about the duo before her.

"So your Issei Hyoudou, huh? My future husband?" The woman said as she looked at Issei with a calculating look before nodding. "Your green for a Devil, but that's to be expected; however, know that I won't accept some pathetic lowly peasant to be my husband."

Issei felt insulted as he saw that the girl was high class due to her posture and eyes. A beautiful young girl with dark blue eyes. She had long blonde hair tied into twin tails with large, drill-like curls and blue ribbons keeping them in place. The front of her hair had several bangs hanging over her forehead, with a V-shaped fringe hanging over the bridge of her nose.

Her outfit was a light purple dress with dark purple accents and a blue bow at the front. At the back, three feather-like extensions mimicking a bird's tail protruding from the dress, which, when combined with her wings of fire, give her a bird-like appearance.

She was the definition of an heiress of the legendary Phoenix.

"Well, I apologize for my appearance, but this is how I was born," Issei said as Runeas snorted as she stifled a laugh in her mouth until the woman rolled her eyes as she sat next to his bed and replied. "Yes. I'm well aware of your reputation at the school. I'm a first-year there. Ravel Phoenix. First Year of Kuoh Academy and President of the Cooking Club." She said while looking at her nails before Issei recalled that there was a Cooking Club at the school.

"Oh! I remember you now—you were infamous for your culinary skills in the club. You are also on the Top 10 list for the Most Beautiful Girls in Kuoh Academy. In Fifth Place behind Koneko since Rias and Akeno are tied for First, Tsubaki in second, Shona Third, and Koneko in Fourth Place." Issei listed as Ravel growled to herself as she recalled seeing the smug look on the little Loli Mascot's face as she passed her in the hallways mocking her with that tiny grin on her face.

"Skipping pathetic conversations like that," Ravel said with anger as she breathed deeply until she looked at Issei and Runeas. "Part of the agreement is that even though we're engaged, I would still like for you to join my Club along with your King. Runeas Gremory." She said as Runeas nodded and smiled as she changed her clothes to match the first years female uniform.

"Meet Runeas Gremory. King of Issei Hyoudou. Duke of Chaos and Destruction and the Descendant of the Gremory Family." Runeas said as she snuggled up next to Issei before he asked the descendant.

"Uh. What exactly am I? I know I'm a Devil, but what's my Piece?" Issei asked as Runeas giggled at him. "Simple. In chess terms, you are my Queen." She said as she pointed to his chest, where he saw the faint outline glow to reveal itself until Runeas sat in the seat next to Ravel.

"The reason I'm joining your school because I want to watch you grow into an even stronger Queen in my name! You shall overlap Grayfia and become the Underworld's Ultimate Queen! I must make sure that happens by watching over you, Issei-Chan! So... I have decided to move in with you!" She chirped as Issei picked her up bridal style as if he knew she would ask that of him. "Am I your Queen or butler now, Runeas-sama?" Issei asked as Runeas pouted and smacked his arm lightly. "It's Runeas-Chan! Sama is too stuffy. Won't you feed me some Mochi?" Runeas asked with a cute face as Issei sighed and pulled her left cheek with his free hand as the great ancestor of the Gremory's whined like a little kid. "Ow!"

"No sweets this early. Your body won't grow if you eat sweets all the time. Otherwise, you'd be stuck as a midget." This made Runeas gasp at her Queen while Ravel rose a curious brow at the two of them since they seemed to be acting as if they had known each other for months, and yet Issei was awake for only an hour or two.

'How curious. Is this perhaps a coping mechanism, or is he going with the flow of things around him?' Ravel questioned her lead as she saw Runeas turn red as her hair before barking back at him. Hey! I am just at the ripe age of 18!" Runeas said proudly as Issei looked at his King's chest and patted her head. "I apologize, Runeas-Sama. You'll be stuck as a midget forever."

"H-Hey! Don't say it like that. I'm mature and smart enough to be your Senpai."

"And yet you chose to be the first year," Issei said as Runeas pouted before crossing her arms like a child. "That's because I get praised by others. They call me adorable as they admire me."

"Oh, if only they knew."

"Issei-Chan! What's that supposed to mean?!"

Issei said nothing as Runeas pouted like the kid she was and kicked her feet in the air like a brat as she hit Issei's chest with her tiny fists. "Hey! Tell me!"

"O-Ow! Hey! You'll find out, my little Kohai. I hope you are ready to be called little."

"L-Little!? I am your King, you brat!" Runeas said with a red face as Issei smiled at her and asked as he picked her up by the back of her shirt. "Do you feel in charge?"

"Ahem. Are we interrupting something?" A voice that Issei recognized startled him as he slowly turned to see Miki and Goro Hyoudou at the door to his room. Ravel stifled her laughter, threatening to come out of her mouth while Issei put Runeas back on the floor as Miki smirked at Issei and then at Runeas.

"So this is the girl you went on your date with three days ago, huh? Please tell me you didn't get her pregnant already." Miki said as Issei and Runeas were red as Sirzechs hair before Issei yelled at his parents. "Have some faith in me, Mom! I'm not the guy who has sex with a girl on the first date."

Goro stepped in as he reassured him. "We know. We know, but you know how hormones are." He said as Issei grumbled to himself, saying 'untrustworthy parents' and 'No love at all, but he still had a slight smile on his face as Ravel could see that her fiancé was happy with this.

Being back home with his family. That was a smile that Ravel wanted to see for herself but directed at her instead. 'Strange. I feel happy but jealous that he's not looking at me like that. Would...Would he give me a smile like that?' Ravel pondered to herself until the Hyoudou family did the paperwork and brought him home, where Issei was happy to be back in his room but surprised to see Runeas put some of her things in his room, which made him recall that she was moving in with him.

"Uh. Runeas-San. Why are you in my room?" He asked as Runeas was about to answer him until Miki came by and replied for her. "Why can't she move in with you? Isn't it natural for a girlfriend to be with her boyfriend?" She said as Runeas put her crocodile tear face as Issei was a bit annoyed that his mother bought the act before he was forced to comply with the childish descendant of Sirzechs and Zeoticus Gremory.

'How the heck is she a descendant? She's an even bigger brat than I am.' Issei pondered until Runeas rolled into his bed as she smiled at him.

"Look, I know this is a big change, but I assure you that I mean you no ill will. I said I would help you become the greatest Queen in all of the Underworld, and I will but first things first." Runeas said as she snapped her fingers and made the entire area freeze as if time was frozen until Issei looked out the window to see that there was some magic surrounding the house. "It's a barrier. It'll prevent anyone from interfering with what we're about to do." Runeas said as she helped Issei to his feet and placed a hand on his chest.

"Now then. Let's see what your Sacred Gear is." She said as she poured Magic into his Queen Piece until Issei felt something unlock inside of him as his hands now wielded a massive weapon.

Runeas's eyes widened as she looked at the sword and was in awe of the Sacred Gear her Queen had within him. "T-This is...incredible. To think that you had this inside of you this whole time. No wonder the Fallen feared it." She said as Issei looked at the sword in his hand and felt a sense of calm envelop his being as if the blade was reassuring him.

It was a massive greatsword of grey steel 'rusted in coal black' with a large handle and crossguard designed like the horns of a maddened goat. It is as tall as Issei was. Runeas ran her hand along the sword's blade and read the words that appeared on the steel.

"When sociopaths carry the title of 'Hero,' and the unworthy perverts the holy relic in murder, then it is time for the balance to be enforced by the dark. Let me remind you why you monkeys fear the dark. Why it is you fear me. Let the abyss consume you." Runeas read aloud as Issei was amazed by the saying as he was able to read it as well before Runeas gasped at the sword.

"I know this sword." She recalled an old legend of how the sword was well known as the Dark Longinus. The demonic equivalent to its 'brother' the True Longinus. This 'Sacred' Gear was created by the Primordial dark deity Ahriman hacking into Yahweh's system. Unlike the regular Sacred Gears, this only comes about when the True Longinus is in possession of a wielder wicked of heart. The story said that it went to one who was pure of heart and would protect those who were weak instead of abusing their power.

Runeas looked at the boy as he was still in awe of the sword before he sent it away back in his body the Duke of Chaos and Destruction smiled at the boy with a real one that she didn't even realize she was showing to him.

"Issei Hyoudou. I truly believe that you can become one of the greatest Devils in all of the Underworld, and I'll be there to aid you the whole way. So..." Runeas said as she then had a hand out towards Issei before she smiled at him.

"Is it a deal then?"

Issei looked at the hand and then the smile and let a smile of his appearance on his face as he took it in his hand. "Hell Yeah. Let's do this. So what'll we do first, Runeas-San?" Issei asked as Runeas let the barrier down. She then teleported him to a massive field where it was just the two of them before the Duke cracked her knuckles, neck, and arms as she smiled at him wickedly.

"Simple. Help you get used to your new body. And the best way to do that is by breaking your body again and again until you can land three hits on me." Runeas said as she let out 10% of her power as Issei was feeling the massive aura from the woman before him.

"Are you kidding me? This is just a mere fraction of her power?!" Issei gasped aloud as Runeas rushed towards him and spoke to him with a sinister grin.

"Let's have some fun, shall we?

An Hour Later...

THUD!

Issei was on the ground, broken, damaged, and was coughing out blood after such an intense fighting match...

At least for him.

Surrounding his being was a massive crater; debris continued impacting his body at high momentum, further aiding Runeas's purpose of the training. Issei gradually lifted his head to glimpse at Runeas, descending onto the ground while morosely staring at him. Moving his hand, raising his right arm to crawl out of the crater slowly, Issei finally fell face-first from the pain.

"Is it... Over?"He croaked while rolling over to grab his gut, which quickly had a few broken bones. It wasn't so pleasant for the poor boy to be beaten by a sadistic instructor. However, Runeas finally saw the damage she had done to the boy. The excuse of trying to make him adapt to the life of a warrior in the supernatural world won't be working this time.

"Guh!" Issei was finally coughing out a small pool of blood, which made was seriously beginning to show significant concern for the health of her pawn. Healing was essential. She immediately broke out of her gaze and responded to the poor boy's question.

Runeas sighed as she nodded at his request. "... Fine, you may rest... I'll try and heal you up."

Runeas Gremory wasn't even trying during the spar. Still, she was impressed with the development of Issei, from being a human to a Devil with the Dark Longinus, and was able to slash her body two times during the entire time.

Issei let out a small cheer as he smiled at a chance to rest. "Thank goodness." Issei, with the slim opening of his right eye, the only one that was open without blood oozing into the opening, watched as he was beginning to lose consciousness. Landing his head in the pool of blood that he formed, Runeas Gremory knew that she may have gone a bit too far, but breaking the boy's bones was necessary for development within the boy's body, allowing for his body to fully recover without any lingering issues of his human and devil blood fighting with each other.

"ISSEI!" She immediately appeared beside him to see his condition. Judging by his injuries, she thought he had died from suffering from the pain.

'Oh, thank goodness.' Runeas sighed in relief as she could feel his pulse. 'He's only unconscious while taking a short nap. He's so cute, like a sleeping baby.' She said in her mind as she picked him up bridal style before seeing the destruction around her.

Runeas knew she was being rough with Issei, but she needed to do this for the Longinus that Issei had since it was a Longinus that could be the Devil's greatest weapon and the Angels/Fallen Angel's worst fear. Also, the boy being in her peerage meant one thing. Enemies will come in vast quantities, many of them are easily threats to some Ultimate Class beings, but Issei, as of now, was only the lowest of the Low Class. He has a long journey of pain and suffering because Runeas was going to make sure that he would get this mentality straight in him...To grow strong, work hard!

She then brought him back to his home, where she healed his injuries; however, the sword seemed also to be mending his wounds as well, much to her surprise as she took note of this.

"Issei." She said while healing him and gently rubbing his left cheek. "I'll make sure that I make you forget about that Fallen who killed you. I'll ensure that you can smile like that one you gave me today. I swear on my name and title. I'll help make your dream come true." Runeas said as she pecked his forehead before she cuddled up next to his body and fell asleep next to him.

This is the beginning of the story of love and pain. Happiness and Sadness. The strength of the heart and the bond between a Duke who has only known destruction, chaos, and death and a boy who's only known joy, sadness, fear, and anger.

This'll be an intense emotional rollercoaster, So...Let's have some fun!!

In its base form, it looks like a massive greatsword of grey steel 'rusted in coal black' with a large handle and crossguard designed like the horns of a maddened goat. It is as tall as Issei is. When activated, the Dark Longinus gives off a constant demonic power, and to stare at the blade is like staring into the abyss. Like the True Longinus, the Dark Longinus coats the wielder in a demonic barrier to protect Issei from harm and can unleash waves of pure sinister either in slashing motions or blasts that swallow all magic in its path. Devils feel subservient in their presence, while holy beings feel a piercing chill like death took hold of them.

Issei Hyodou's Dark Longinus is subspecies where its demonic energy takes on a flaming aspect as shadows are tinged in red and will negate/absorb all magic the sword comes into contact with. In his Balance Breaker, Dreaded Shadow Fire, undergoes a terrifying transformation turning Issei into a two-story demon made of fire and shadow - a Balrog. He turns into a Balrog.

Dark Longinus is the demonic equivalent to the True Longinus. This 'Sacred' Gear was created by the Primordial dark deity Ahriman hacking into Yahweh's system. Unlike regular Gears, this only comes about when the True Longinus has a wielder wicked of heart.
