chapter 5 enjoy
Word quickly spread through the school, easily the most popular guy Jellal Fernadez admitting he's a virgin.
It raised the opinion of all the girls in the school, especially Erza.
"That idiot," Erza said with a smile as she sat at her lunch table with the girls.
She didn't even bother hiding her smile. A quick look around, they shared her sentiment.
And from what they can gather, there seems to be a change in the mentality among the school's male population.
It definitely causes Natsu and Ultear to share a blush getting. Even more, looks sent their way.
Seeing this, Wendy decided to change the subject so his cousin it's more embarrassed than necessary.
"I heard all the players of the school are finally getting justice for what they've done," causing all of them to giggle with Natsu chuckling.
"Care to enlighten us, Wendy?" Natsu said with a grin.
"Many were quick to point out who's a player like Jet and Max. Not a single self-respecting girl wants anything to do with them. In fact, they won't speak to them."
"That sucks, but it was gonna bite them in the ass eventually," Natsu said with a sneer.
"Assuming the law is merciful with them," Mira added with a sinister smile mirrored by her friends.
"Ok, as fun as this is, Ultear Natsu, what score did you guys get in your project?"
"We got a 95," Natsu supplied.
"Nice job, you two."
"Thanks," they said in unison.
"By the way, Elfman is going to the movies tonight at the mall. Do you guys want to come with me?"
They all traded glances "sure."
Before they knew it, school is over for the day, and they headed to the mall, taking three cars.
Like always, Natsu, Ultear, and Wendy are in one car. The second is the Strauss siblings. And last but not least is Erza with Jellal and Laxus.
They manage to catch the 4:00 PM slot at the movie theater.
The movie in question is Spider-Man into the spider-verse.
They all took up a whole row from end to end, paying great attention to the film.
Once the movie finished, they checked the time to see it's nearly 6:00 PM.
Then several of their stomachs made themselves loud and clear.
"Food court, anyone?" Natsu said, rubbing the back of his neck, getting nods of agreement.
Two minutes later, they found the court. Thanks to their party size, they had to put several tables together.
Taking advantage of their youth, they mainly got fried food and chatted about different movie parts.
After about 20 minutes, Ultear excused herself. "Sorry, I gotta use the ladies' room."
"Do you need one of us to go with you?" Mira asked
"No, I'm good," and she's off.
Natsu is easily the one most concerned with her going off on her own after his last MMA event.
Fortunately for Ultear, the restroom is just around the corner. But, unknown to her, someone from school saw her all by herself.
A wicked grin took over her face before following her.
Just as Ultear walks out of the stall, she stops dead in her tracks. Standing before her is Jenny with her giant head of blonde hair.
"What do you want, Jenny?" She tries to leave but is blocked from the doorway by Karen.
"I don't understand What Natsu sees in you when he can have a maiden like me." She said proudly.
"How many times do I have to tell you I'm still a virgin!"
"How many times do I have to say no one with a brain believes you. I still don't understand how your friends haven't seen through your lies." she grabbed Ultear by her hair brings her to eye level.
"Mark my words Ultear Natsu will be mine before the year is up," Ultear struggles to break free, but the pain is too much for her.
Liking the control, Jenny punched her in the gut. Then, before doing something one would think of, she ripped Ultear's dress showing a large amount of skin.
"Stay away from Natsu, you hear me!" as soon as the two left, Ultear curled up in a ball, crying her eyes out.
Natsu glances toward Mira to see her nodding. She noticed Ultear taking longer than it should return.
"Excuse me. I have to go to the restroom too. I'll be back soon" he left, not giving them the chance to respond.
Just as he rounds the corner, he sees Jenny and Karen running off. Once he reaches the restroom, he hears crying from the girl section.
Without any hesitation, he walks in to see Ultear crying on the floor. His blood boiled seeing the girl he likes in such a vulnerable state.
"Ultear," he said just loud enough to get her attention.
She looked at him, letting him see how puffy her eyes were from the tears trying to cover the rips in her dress.
He crouched down to her level, holding out his hand. She took it, allowing him to pull her up.
"Natsu, what are you doing in the girl's restroom?" Natsu quickly gives her his leather jacket to cover herself leaving him in his school uniform.
"Not important. What happened when you were yourself!" He put his finger to her lips, telling her she was not getting out of this.
Deep inhale then exhale she told him about Jenny and what happened and what she said.
Natsu's anger skyrockets as if his bulging veins are anything to go off of. They heard movement outside the door before Natsu pulls her into a stall locking the door behind him.
The stall is one of the skinny ones putting them into a tight squeeze as Natsu rested his back against the door.
This whole time Ultear has her eyes locked on Natsu as her mind is going in a million different directions at once.
Especially the tight squeeze they're in.
Seeing the look in her eyes, Natsu brought her into one arm hug, hoping to calm her nerves.
"You're ok now I'm here," he whispers into her ear. He feels her body relax from his words.
A small smile graced her face before locking eyes with him intending to enjoy his one-arm hug a little longer.
A new desire took root as she locked eyes with him once more. Then, using her tiptoes and her hand, she grabbed hold of his jaw.
Knowing what she wanted, he followed her lead, leaning down only for their lips to touch. The kiss lasted for a few moments.
"Hmm, I take it you're ready?"
A line from the movie they watch replayed in her head over and over again
"that's all it is miles a leap of faith."
"I don't know Natsu. But sometimes you have to" she couldn't finish.
"Hmm, it's a leap of faith," he finished.
One hand carefully helped her chin as he locked eyes with her, only to lock lips again.
Her arms snaked their way around his neck as his arms wrapped themselves around his waist and back.
The kiss quickly turned heated only to turn passionately till their human desire forced them to separate.
Natsu put his forehead to hers with a smile that matched.
"We should get back to the others" a slight frown took over her face.
"I suppose I can take you home now" her frown turned to a smile.
With her help, he left the girl's restroom with no one noticing, only to head toward the exit.
As soon as they got into the car, Ultear sent a text to Mira.
Everyone in their group shared a smile when Miraphone went off from the text message.
"Looks like you'll have to get a ride home with us, Wendy."
"No issue here, about times if you ask me."
"Agreed," the other said in unison. They paid for their meals, so they decided to take a more extended route home.
Fortunately, the mall is only 20 minutes away from home. A look at the clock. It is nearly 7:30 PM.
Natsu opened the car door holding his hand out, only to walk her to the door.
He saw the change in her expression. It's clear to him she doesn't want him to leave just yet.
"I'll stay as long as you need me to!" he said with a smile brightening up her day.
Ultear quickly ran upstairs before coming down with regular everyday clothes on before handing him his jacket.
They found themself with him lying on the couch with her resting on top of him, both still fully clothed.
As cheesy as it sounds, he wrapped his arm around her waist as she uses his chest as a pillow.
They either didn't notice or care that Ur is eavesdropping on them through a sizable opening in her bedroom door.
Natsu and Ultear stayed in that position for just over an hour.
He broke his hold on her "sorry, Ultear, I'd like to stay, but I need to go home," he said with a nervous chuckle seeing the time.
She giggled at this before getting off him "it's fine also, Natsu?"
"What is it?"
"Can you teach me MMA?"
After spending two hours driving around to kill time, Mira finally dropped off Wendy at home.
The first thing they notice is Natsu's car park in front of their house.
Wendy's smile grew even more before walking inside, calling it a night.
Natsu sits up in his bed, looking out the window to see the dark blue skies of the early morning hours.
His mind is racing after the event yesterday, from the movie to when he finally got home.
Then he heard someone knock on him doot "come in."
The door opened to reveal Wendy, still in her pajamas. "Natsu, I forgot to mention everyone wants to meet up before school to talk about last night if you don't mind."
"Fine with me can't say the same thing for Ultear, though"
"Just letting you know" she closed the door behind her leaving Natsu to his thoughts.
When Wendy stopped by again, she saw something that left her speechless.
Natsu just stood before his bed with two shirts, one his regular school shirt, the other his under armor.
Natsu turned to his door, hearing it creek to see Wendy watching him. She walked, standing beside him.
"What is it, Natsu?"
"Something Ultear said to me yesterday" he looks back to his shirts.
"What is it?"
He kept it brief but straight to the point about taking a leap of faith.
"I can't imagine what you're going through letting everyone know about the tattoo on your back."
"Tell me about it," he takes one last glance at Wendy before reaching out for his school shirt.
"Are you sure about this, Natsu? it probably won't take them long to figure out you do MMA."
"I know, but hopefully, it will keep the guy's off Ultear back if they know what I can do," he said with a borderline sadistic grin getting a giggle from Wendy. This is a side of Natsu she hasn't seen in a long time.
With great reluctance, he put on his school shirt, leaving his under armor behind.
The trio met with the other in the parking lot about 20 minutes before school started.
Of course, all the girls, we're eyeing Ultear wanting to know all the details from yesterday.
She hid behind Natsu, hoping her boyfriend will protect her from their gaze.
Mira quickly grabbed hold of Ultear, dragging her over to the others, leaving the four guys in the dust.
All they can hear from the girls are whispering as they continue to press further into Ultear, wanting to know everything.
Then they heard a loud whistle sound only to see Jenny and Karen waving towards them before entering the building.
Natsu visibly cringed. He was well aware of her crush on him since their lockers aren't that far apart, and it's really irritating.
When Ultear finally broke under their endless questions, she was loud enough so the boys could hear everything.
Then a murderous aura can be seen coming off Erza as she starts to head towards the school.
It took Natsu and Jellal's combined strength to keep Erza from going on a rampage after what Jenny did to Ultear at the mall.
"Is there anything else we missed?" Jellal asked
"I asked Natsu to teach me MMA," she said, looking away. Getting laughs all around.
They all look at Natsu. "What? She asked, and I'm not gonna turn her away after yesterday," he said with a light blush that intensified when Ultear latched onto his arm.
The other didn't even try to hide their laughter before heading toward the school.
A quick look at the clock, and they have 10 minutes before class starts.
Then Natsu did something that caused Ultear to blush like a ripened tomato.
Natsu put his arm around her waist as they entered the school, getting all eyes on her.
Especially a particular blonde rival glaring at Ultear, but it is quickly silent when Natsu glared at her as he tightened his hold.
They found their respective classes, and things usually went till Natsu was by himself between periods.
Natsu and his group didn't know it, but Jenny was there at the charity event and was shocked, to say the least, when Natsu walked into the octagon.
She had plenty of time to admire his muscles that day and silently vowed to keep Natsu all to herself.
"Hey, Natsu!" Jenny said as only a few feet away from Natsu, showing in his mind a little too much skin in her chest area.
It left little to the imagination. A lesser man would no doubt fall at the hand of temptation before them.
He isn't one of them. His blood is not quite boiling but simmering in rage after what she did to Ultear.
"I don't have time for horse shit Jenny,'' he glared daggers at her, striking fear in her. She instinctively took a step back.
He walks right past her, heading to the lunchroom. As you expected, he sat next to Ultear, this time with a proud smile on his face.
She shared it as she rested her head on his shoulder. The other shared a grin knowing the two finally found happiness.
But their smiles didn't last long when Natsu looked behind him to see several girls standing overhead glaring at Ultear with Jenny at the front.
Without hesitation, Ultear hid in Natsu's chest as he ever so slightly tightened his hold on her.
Erza's rage comes back with a blinding fury. She gets up to stands between Natsu and a crowd of girls.
"I'm only going to say this once back off now before this gets ugly!"
Many just laughed off her threat like it was nothing pissing Erza off further.
"And what are you going to do, Erza? Don't tell me you're still going to defend that slut you call a friend," Jenny said with a sneer.
Without a moment of hesitation, Erza sucker punches her square in the face. As you'd expect, Jenny collapsed to the ground, holding her nose crying like a child.
The other girls all took several steps back, not wanting to be on the receiving end of her wrath.
And just in time as staff members by the name of Macao came running over.
"What's going on here!" He demands
A new wave of fear took over the girl backing Jenny. Erza stood tall, fully aware of the consequences of striking Jenny.
She told him what happened and took matters into her own hand to defend her friend.
"Both of you are in the principal's office Now!"
"Fine," Erza responds, leaving the lunchroom.
With the help of her friends, Jenny got to her feet before following Erza's lead.
"Natsu Ultear, I hate to ask this, but can you come to incase there are any blanks that need to be filled in?"
They glance at each other before nodding to his request heading to the principal's office.
The four students stand before the school principal, Makarov Dreyer, giving all four of them a hardened gaze.
"Explain now!"
Without a moment of hesitation, Erza gave her side of the story. Makarov looks at Jenny, still maintaining his hardened gaze.
With great reluctance, she told her side only for Natsu and Ultear to call her on specific details she then confirmed.
Makarov pinched the bridge on his nose. "Natsu and Ultear, you are dismissed. Now get to class."
"Hai" leaving both Erza and Jenny with Makarov.
Makarov hardened his gaze on the remaining two.
"Erza, I applaud you for defending your friend. However, I can not let this slide."
"Understood I accept the consequences for my actions"
"I want you back here on Saturday to serve out detention, understood!"
"Yes"
"You may go now" with those words, Erza headed to class, leaving Jenny all by herself.
"Jenny, I have a zero-tolerance for bullying students, especially on baseless rumors. Therefore, you will serve detention two hours every day this week after school, and all day Saturday understood!"
"Yes, sir" with those words, she headed to class as well.
Like all the days before, Natsu is in the school locker room getting ready for weight lifting.
And with great reluctance, he took off his shirt showing everyone the red dragon tattoo on his back.
He didn't see it, but the silence in the room told him all eyes were on him.
Just before he left the locker room, Mr. Clive brought him to the side.
"Well, this is new. What made you change your mind?"
"Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith," he said with a small smile.
"interesting, chances are it's a matter of time before they learn who you are."
"I know" he waved him off before meeting up with Jellal.
Once class was over and back in the locker room, Natsu saw the curious looks with all eyes on him.
He didn't pay them any mind as he got ready for the next period.
Once school finally let out, instead of staying home, Natsu dropped off Wendy before taking Ultear with him to the gym.
After all, his girlfriend wants to learn MMA, and after today, it's obvious why.
And to no surprise at all, Mr. Clive is there waiting for him along with the other students.
Not long after, Natsu walked out of the locker room in his MMA shorts and gloves.
"Long time student with me, new blood with Natsu" The crowd broke into two smaller groups.
"Ok first thing first, before you can even start learning different moves, it's time to get in shape. That means push-ups, set-ups, squats, and jogging," he shouts, getting groans from the new blood.
Ultear let out a sigh before doing as instructed, doing ten of each exercise before doing a lap around the jogging track.
Natsu participated in the exercise to hopefully lift their spirits and, of course, effortlessly ran circles around everyone on the track.
Once that was done, she showed them basic moves like lean in pushes against a punching bag.
By the time classes ended for the day, it's 6:00 PM.
Natsu, still being a guy, was silently thankful for the chance to admire the view. On their way back to his car Ultear walked with a sway of her hips.
"She has to be doing that purpose."
Ultear knew Natsu wouldn't two time her, but after the incident with Jenny, she decided to take a few extra steps to remind him what he has.
She took great pleasure in seeing pink dusting his cheeks on the way home.
Once they made it home, Natsu walked her to the front door only to give him a kiss goodnight.
As soon as he walked into his home, he sees the other two residents of their home.
They both had grins aimed right at him "so how was practice tonight with Ultear there" Wendy said
His blush returned before sprinting upstairs, causing the two females to giggle.
"Look like my intuition was right after all."
"Really, what is it, mom?"
"For as long as I've known Ultear, she always came off as the teasing type."
"Interesting, but...did she do that with Gray?"
"I chatted with Ur about this very subject after Gray. From what I recall, Ultear was very guarded around him, so I doubt she did."
"Guarded?"
"Remember what I said about a women's intuition. It seems Ultear realized something was off about him from the get-go. I assume she was giving him a chance, but we know how that ended."
Wendy let out a yawn before going to bed "night, mom."
"You two, honey."
The following day Natsu held Ultears hand as they entered school, ignoring all the looks sent her way.
The first time, his arm around her waist was enough, especially for the school players to keep their hands off Ultear.
And from what chatter he can hear, people are starting to figure out why he has a red dragon tattoo on his back.
All he has to do now is sit back and wait, and with Ultear by his side, he can't wait to see their reactions.
Nothing significant happened that day. However, the following day now Thursday, was highly entertaining for the couple.
It took a couple of days, but word quickly spread. Natsu does MMA, In combination with revealing the red dragon tattoo and a few students who stopped by the gym he goes to.
Many guys were quick to steer clear of Natsu, and girls gave Ultear forced smiles. But, then, word reached them Ultear is taking MMA lessons.
It's not sexist if a girl is the one showing them the error of their ways. Erza sent that point home after putting Jenny in her place.
That's not all. The whole school is in a buzz with Spring break on a single day away.
None more so than Natsu, he has another MMA fight near the end of spring break.
The semi-finals for their area, with the final fight coming up in may just before school lets out.
And, of course, many students were talking about their plans for spring break.
Some going overseas for vacations, other spending time with relative and so on.
As for Natsu, most of his focus was on training Ultear, and Erza decided to join in on the fun along with Jellal.
Now he has not one but three friends he has to train. Then, before they knew it, the school finally let out for spring break.
With Erza and Jellal in tow, they met up at the MMA gym that day. Again, Natsu stood before the new blood, now including Jellal and Erza.
They saw Ultear in shorts and assume a sports bra and old T-shirt doing her warm-up exercises to their surprise.
Of course, the new blood fought the urge to laugh from how distracted Natsu was.
He noticed their eyes and got his wits together before showing the basic moves like punching, blocking, and kicking.
He stood behind the punching bag. Then, keeping it steady, he pokes his head out the side.
"Hit me with your best shot!" he said with a grin.
