Chapter 1504
I Quit
Cameron let Savannah and Camille show Joe and Ted around the B-25.
Young Jesse and Young Allison checked the plane out for the flight with Anna.
Cameron took the time to get caught up at what was happening at the Resistance base. John Henry didn't fill in all the details. It seemed everyone was at the base and having a good time. She just didn't know how good of a time it was for some of them.
Savannah let Joe and Ted take in the condition of the plane from the outside. The B-25 at the museum was a little 'worse for the wear' compared to theirs.
Joe really appreciated how well the plane was cared for.
"This Mitchell looks like it's brand new." Joe said. "It's like a museum restoration at the Smithsonian or something."
Camille filled in any specifications they asked about. She let them into the aft fuselage. They checked out the tail gun position and the waist guns.
Savannah suggested they exit the plane and enter the front of it from the forward hatch. She didn't think Ted and Joe were up to going over the bomb bay crawlway.
Young Jesse was in the pilot's seat when they entered. Young Allison was in the copilot's seat. They didn't think much about it right then.
Joe checked out the nose and Ted checked out the top turret, they switched after a few minutes.
Savannah went out and joined Cameron with a fire extinguisher.
Camille directed Joe and Ted to sit in the jump seats.
"Are you going to fly?" Ted asked.
Camille smiled and pointed forward.
"They're your pilots." Camille said.
Young Jesse and Young Allison looked back and smiled.
Joe and Ted both laughed. They thought Camille was joking.
Their smiles slowly faded when they saw the girls were strapped in and going over the preflight checklist.
"Do you mean it for real?" Joe asked.
Anna moved to take up her position in the top turret for a look around.
"It's as real as it gets." Anna said.
Joe and Ted looked at each other.
Camille noticed.
"Relax, you're in good hands." Camille said.
She secured the front hatch and went over the crawlway into the aft fuselage.
Young Jesse was ready to start the plane up. She nodded at Young Allison and the starboard engine.
Young Allison did a final check out of her side window.
"Clear." Young Allison called out.
The big R2600 started to turn over. It went through the required revolutions to clear the cylinders. It fired up with a loud roar and a cloud of gray smoke.
Young Jesse checked out her side window.
"Clear." Young Jesse called out.
The second engine did the same thing. It fired up with a throaty sound and the usual cloud of gray smoke.
The noise and vibrations were a thrill for Joe and Ted. They were a thrill for all of the girls too.
Savannah and Cameron entered the aft fuselage from the lower hatch and secured it. They signaled Young Jesse they were in and secure.
Once the plane was warmed up, they received clearance from the tower.
Young Jesse released the brakes and started to taxi.
Anna checked around them to make sure it was clear.
Everyone wore headsets.
Young Jesse checked with everyone and made sure they were all ready. She lined up with the runway and revved up the engines.
Joe and Ted were still a little apprehensive but the thrill of everything was more than enough to calm their apprehension.
Young Jesse released the brakes. The Mitchell shot forward. She didn't push it too hard. She could see Joe and Ted were a little apprehensive to begin with. She made a smooth takeoff and climbed to three thousand feet.
Anna wanted their guests to experience the best view.
"You can take turns in the nose." Anna said.
Joe went up.
Ted watched the girls fly. They were meticulous in everything they did and seemed very proficient.
Anna wanted to ease Ted's mind a little.
"There were plenty of women who flew these planes from the factory to bases all over the county during the war." Anna said.
Ted knew it was true. The men were needed for combat and there were a lot of women who did the transfer duty. He thought they were a little older though. None of these girls looked older than a teen to him. He didn't want to ask. He remembered he was told some of the girls were 'younger than they looked'. He wasn't really sure what it meant. It looked to him like all of them were. It was clear these girls knew their stuff. It's what mattered in the end.
Anna maintained her watch around them from the top turret.
Camille was in the tail gun position. Cameron watched around them from both sides of the waist gun positions. Savannah switched sides when Cameron did.
Cameron moved close to Savannah.
"How far do you want to go?" Cameron asked.
Savannah thought it was a loaded question. She wanted to say, 'All the way.'
"We don't want to go too far." Savannah said. "We should bring Joe and Ted back in a few hours."
Cameron ran some calculations
"It's a hundred and twenty miles to San Francisco." Cameron said.
Savannah didn't want to fly under any bridges with guests aboard.
"Let's keep it all safe and legal." Savannah said. "You know what I mean."
Cameron contacted Young Jesse and told her the plan. CamNet would clear the airspace and make all the arrangements with air traffic control.
Anna dropped down and spoke to Ted.
"We'll fly over the Bay Area." Anna said. "We'll go there and back. It should be less than a two hour flight for a round trip."
Joe came out of the nose and Ted went up.
Anna filled Joe in on the flight plan.
Joe smiled and nodded. He looked at Young Jesse and Young Allison at the controls and Anna next to him. He knew no one was ever going to believe any of this.
The feast and fellowship continued in the commissary. It was a good time for everyone.
John was rewarded with a fresh set of girls every five minutes. It was what Jesse asked for.
Before everyone was totally stuffed, Jan and Summer brought out the desserts and the rest of the ice cream treats.
Samantha was a big hit with everyone.
Sarah was pleased at how often Kyle stole a glance at Samantha's rings.
John thought about checking in with John Henry but decided to wait. He began to wonder when Cameron would be back. He really wondered who would end up in his bed if she was out all night….
It gave him something to speculate about as the girls switched positions around him every five minutes. He couldn't decide on one. He wanted them all.
Jim and Bob joined John Henry in the Command Center earlier.
They hoped to pull an assignment. They only wanted other Terminators to go out again for the rest of the day, or night.
John Henry tried to uncover all he could about the mine and the Skynet related connection to it.
"This is something we need to deal with before Cameron returns." Bob said.
John Henry was more than aware of it. He would like to obtain some more information first.
"There isn't much of anything specific related to it so far." John Henry said.
Jim was out of the action for a week. He wanted back in.
"We were on the ship and missed out on most of what happened around here." Jim said.
Bob went on the 'shore excursion' with Cameron one night. He was ready for a little more Skynet related action.
"We need to deal with the mine and the machine shop." Bob said. "I think we need to act on one of those options now. If we don't, there will be others who will want to go instead."
John Henry figured it would be Derek, Kyle and John. He was pretty sure the girls could keep John at the base. If there was always some 'fresh meat' available, John was less likely to want to go on an 'away mission'. Maybe it was Cameron's plan all along. It was her 'job' to make sure he was protected.
The damaged surfboard with the big two foot circular bite out of it was near the shore. Cammy walked over and picked it up. Ally retrieved the other boogie boards. They placed everything where they found it when they arrived.
Sheila was a little concerned about what they'd went through. She knew it would be viewed as some rather drastic events by humans.
"What are you going to tell your boss about all this?" Sheila asked.
The ripped lifeguard looked at the mangled dead shark and the damaged surfboard.
"That's easy." The lifeguard said. "I'm going to tell them I quit."
Sheila thought they should get away from the beach for now. She didn't want Leticia to be traumatized by everything which occurred.
"Well, I don't know about you girls, but I'm ready to hit the pool." Sheila said. "It sounds a little safer to me."
Ally looked at the troubled lifeguard.
"It sounds good to me." Ally said. "We all need a break from this."
Cammy looked at Mary, Laura and Leticia. They all looked a little frazzled.
"Maybe you girls don't feel up to it." Cammy said. "We can always leave."
Leticia looked at 'Sue'.
"I think I'm still a little shaken up." Leticia said. "I'm OK. I'd like to stay, but I'll do whatever you do."
Sheila went over to Leticia and gave her a big hug.
"It's okay, love." Sheila said. "Sue's here for you."
Mary and Laura tried to console the lifeguard. She was still very upset about everything she'd witnessed.
Ally wasn't sure if she wanted Sheila and Cammy to know what she'd been doing with the lifeguard when it 'hit the fan' earlier. Things did get a little carried away.
"Let's just wrap it up here." Ally said. "We can hit the pool or the girls can get a few more drinks. There's an exercise and gym area."
Laura looked at Mary. She was ready for a little 'liquid courage'.
"I'm definitely up for a few more drinks." Laura said.
Ally left all the coms at the water station before she'd entered the water. She made sure Sheila and Cammy both received theirs.
Cammy drug the shark back into the water and it quickly disappeared. Ally and Sheila took the damaged surfboard and snapped it in half and then into quarters. They broke it up into smaller pieces and dumped it into several trash cans on the way back to the main complex. There was no need to scare anyone else or start someone asking questions about what happened.
The girls helped the lifeguard lock up her station. She placed a 'Beach Closed' sign out along with a 'red flag'. They escorted her back to the main complex. She was still a little frazzled.
On the way back to the main complex, Cammy contacted CamNet. She made sure the lifeguard would have the rest of the day off and would receive a substantial bonus. There were to be no questions asked.
Sheila and Ally took the girls over to get some drinks.
Cammy dealt with the lifeguard. She was aware of the bet she'd made and lost. She was a little concerned about her quitting her job. She wanted to offer her a little peace of mind.
"You're getting a fifty thousand dollar bonus." Cammy said.
The lifeguard stopped and looked at her.
"Is the bonus for real?" The lifeguard asked.
Cammy smiled at her. She didn't want the lifeguard to lose her job over them.
"It's as real as I am." Cammy said. "Take the rest of the day off. Tomorrow will be like nothing ever happened."
The lifeguard wasn't so sure about it. Something did happen and it could have ended much more tragically than it did. The only apparent loser was the shark. She would still like a better explanation.
"Can you tell me more about what actually happened?" The lifeguard asked.
Cammy didn't want to cause the lifeguard any more distress.
"I can't tell you anymore than you saw already." Cammy said. "Leave it at that and take the win. What comes easy, can go just as easily."
The lifeguard thought about how the shark looked and the girls being underwater for so long. The fact they walked back in instead of swimming in wasn't lost on her either. What 'Barbara' said was a warning too. She really needed the money.
"They say 'seeing is believing'." The lifeguard said. "I'm not really sure I believe what I saw."
Cammy thought it was best to keep it simple.
"Everyone is safe and accounted for. It's all that really matters." Cammy said. "Leave it at that. You have a bonus and a few days off. Your job will still be here for you if you want to come back."
The lifeguard thanked the girls and went to the locker room. She dressed and left. She wondered if she would still need to be with 'Tony' at a later date. She sure hoped the other girls would share with her too. She did 'owe' them a lot.
Cammy wasn't really sure the lifeguard would be back. The issue seemed resolved so there was no need to worry about it. She believed the lifeguard's job offered her plenty of opportunities at the 'all female' club.
The others were all at one of the bars.
Cammy joined Ally and Sheila with the girls. The girls all enjoyed a stiff drink.
They made their way to the more private exclusive pool. There was no one else there now.
The girls all showered by the pool.
Mary, Laura and Leticia all decided to use the restroom first.
Leticia looked over at Sheila.
"Are you coming?" Leticia asked.
Sheila looked down at her private parts. It seemed like a good idea.
"No." Sheila said. "I haven't touched myself yet."
Mary, Laura and Leticia laughed.
Cammy wanted to sidestep the issue.
"We didn't drink much." Cammy said. "We're good."
Mary and Laura looked at the Tiki drink glasses they held.
"We did." Laura said.
The three girls went off to the restroom.
"They're all going to be drunk soon." Ally said.
Cammy wanted to bring them to see John if Cameron was out all night. She was still upset because Cameron was out with Savannah.
"We can bring them to the base." Cammy said. "John and all the girls can share with them."
Sheila wasn't so sure she liked the idea. She didn't want to 'use' them in such a way.
"They don't need to be drunk to do it." Sheila said. "They should have a choice."
Cammy and Ally could see the 'human influence' the girls brought out in Sheila. It was very unlike her.
Ally could tell Cammy wanted to 'get back' at Cameron by her statement.
"Do you want Savannah to share with them?" Ally asked.
Cammy didn't want her to do so. She needed to be fair too. She heard what Sheila said.
"I'll let Savannah pick her own sexual partners. She's free to do so as we are." Cammy said.
Sheila pointed out the obvious.
"I think she's picked Cameron for her sexual partner." Sheila said.
Cammy didn't want to hear it.
"She should pick Young Allison and break her in instead." Cammy said.
The other girls returned from the restroom. They all got in the pool.
Sheila looked the three girls over.
"Did you talk about us when you were in the restroom?" Sheila asked.
Laura smiled.
"Girls always talk." Laura said. "You should know by now."
Leticia looked at 'Sue'. She figured it was a two way street.
"Did you talk about us?" Leticia asked.
Cammy wanted to push her agenda. She wanted the girls to know what she wanted.
"Yes." Cammy said. "We talked about you being with Tony, all three of you."
Leticia smiled.
"So did we." Leticia said. "I'm in."
Mary and Laura were aware of the bet they'd made and lost.
"We did too." Mary said. "Tony is in for a treat."
Mary was ready to try a male again. She hadn't been with one for years. She knew it was going to feel like her 'first time' again for at least the first few seconds. The prospect excited her some. She'd like to forget her 'first time'. All she got out of it was pain and a mess to clean up. She really hoped 'Tony' delivered like they said he would.
Earlier:
Mary, Laura and Leticia headed for the restroom.
They looked back and they were alone. They'd wondered if any of the 'special girls' would follow them. They didn't.
"Do we want to talk about what just happened?" Mary asked.
Laura looked nervous. She took another long pull on her drink.
"I think we know what happened and how." Laura said.
Leticia didn't like the implication.
"They saved my life." Leticia said. "They've saved my life more than once."
Mary was aware how true it was.
"Maybe we're in danger when we're around them." Mary said.
Leticia was defensive.
"They brought us here to have a good time." Leticia said. "Nobody knew this was going to happen."
Laura didn't know what to think.
"I have to agree with both of you." Laura said. "They do bring danger into our lives. They also bring salvation and joy. I've never been so scared, happy, threatened and exhilarated, all at the same time by anyone ever like I am with them."
Leticia thought it was more than that. Mary and Laura told her the girls were robots. It was hard to believe no matter how many things pointed at it.
"They bring love too." Leticia said. "I know plenty of huma… people who can't do the same thing. All I know is they're special in every way. They help people who need help. It's a good thing in my book."
Mary knew all of it was true.
"It's undeniable." Mary said. "They're still dangerous. We don't even know who they really are either."
Laura looked around. She wanted to make sure the other girls weren't there.
"We don't know what they are." Laura said. "We do know they're good people."
Mary was pretty sure the term 'people' was just a description.
"Who can rip a shark to shreds like they did and stay underwater for four or five minutes?" Mary asked. "You saw them. There wasn't a scratch on any of them. They walked out of the ocean."
Leticia actually saw a scratch on 'Sue'. It was gone when she looked again later. She was sure she saw it too. She didn't want to believe she was in love with a 'robot'.
"I know what you told me about them." Leticia said. "I don't know what they really are. They're like real girls in every way. Why can't we leave it at that? They've done so much for us."
Mary figured they better take care of business.
"Let's just use the restroom and go back." Mary said. "I don't want to get on their bad side."
The girls all entered their own stall.
Leticia didn't like the implication.
"Sue would never hurt me." Leticia said.
Mary thought it may be true. 'Sue' wasn't the only one there.
"What about Barbara?" Mary asked. "She's the one in charge. When push comes to shove, she doesn't fool around."
Laura knew it too. 'Barbara' was very different at times on the ship. She was hot and cold just minutes apart. She didn't know it was three different cyborgs who'd played the role of 'Barbara'. There were also some undeniable facts they'd witnessed firsthand.
"They don't eat or drink more than a bite or a sip of anything." Laura said. "They don't use the restroom either."
Mary wondered about their batteries if they were robots. She wasn't exactly sure how they were powered. She wasn't sure how their power was maintained.
"They must have to change their batteries at some point." Mary said. "How do they do it? There aren't any 'doors or hatches' on any of them."
Laura wondered about it too. She was aware there was 'wireless charging' for several different things, including phones. Those were the finest bodies and skin she'd ever seen on any female.
"The article said they were from the future." Laura said. "I don't know what to believe. Maybe they are atomic or nuclear powered or something."
Leticia still wanted to believe something else, even if there was nothing else to believe.
"I would trust my life to them." Leticia said.
Mary knew it was what they'd been doing.
"I think we already have." Mary said. "I know some of the things that happened were our own fault and just happened like the shark, and the episode in park in San Francisco. They've saved us from harm or death on several occasions."
Laura knew they'd lost the bet. She really would have liked to have gotten the money.
"We still need to 'do' Tony for the bet we lost." Laura said.
Leticia didn't know the details of the bet.
"Tell me about the bet." Leticia said.
Mary and Laura filled her in.
"I'll do it too." Leticia said. "I'll do it on my own."
Mary felt they'd been gone too long.
"We need to get back." Mary said.
Laura was at a loss as to what they should really do.
"What do we tell them?" Laura asked.
Leticia wondered if the 'special girls' actually heard anything they'd discussed. 'Sue' told her at the florist shop she'd heard what was said to her. 'Sue' was outside the building at the time and the door was closed.
"We need to tell them the truth if they ask." Leticia said. "They have really good hearing. I don't want to lie to them."
Leticia learned once the lies started, they never stopped. It only got worse and worse.
They finished up, washed their hands and headed out to join the Metal girls.
Hanna broke out some of Sheila's 'sex toys' once they were in her room.
Holly, Cam and Gail looked at them.
"We won't need those until later." Cam said.
Gail moved up and kissed Hanna.
"We have each other for right now." Gail said.
Hanna knew Gail wanted her to be 'Savannah'.
"We all know what each other likes and how to deliver it." Hanna said.
Cam figured she would get to play 'Cameron'.
"I guess I know who I'll be." Cam said.
Holly whispered in Cam's ear.
Cam was a little surprised.
"I can be Allison too." Cam said.
Holly smiled.
It gave Hanna an idea.
"Which 'Allison' will you be?" Hanna asked.
Cam smiled. She could be any of them. She knew which one Hanna wanted.
"I can be 'her' too." Cam said.
Hanna moved up to Cam. She looked back at the other Metal girls.
"It works for me. The line starts behind me…." Hanna said.
The Gray could understand the concern of the others. He didn't feel he'd done anything wrong. He wondered how he was going to explain he was the only survivor. He wasn't sure who the boss was.
They took him to a small room and there were several individuals inside. He wanted to determine if any of them were a Terminator. It didn't look like it. Then again, looks could be deceiving. The goal of a Terminator was to blend in as if they were another human.
He went over everything he saw, and everything he'd heard about what happened at the mine. He didn't have all the details and at best it was hearsay. He did know what he saw at the location where the warehouse was at he was in.
In both of the instances, he believed it was the HK Tracks which were recently brought in where the problem originated. He recommended they make sure any of the ones they had were currently shut down.
One of the men left to check on it.
"How do you know everyone else was killed?" The first man asked. "You didn't actually check."
The Gray figured the trouble was about to start.
"I already told you." The Gray said. "The entire building was gone."
"Where did it go? " The second man asked.
"It was just gone." The Gray said.
The two men didn't look very convinced.
"Did you check for anything?" The first man asked.
The Gray felt a little frustrated.
"There was nothing there but a smoking hole in the ground." The Gray said. "Everything was wasted."
The questioning continued. The Gray could tell the two men didn't believe all of his story. They wanted to know how he survived and no one else did. He went over everything several more times.
He asked about the trouble at the other locations. They couldn't give him any definitive answers. They sent some people out to check on things since they'd lost all communications.
He was assigned to a security detail with a couple of other men. The area around all of the buildings was being watched. He told them all again the trouble at the other locations didn't come from the outside. It came from within. It was the HK Tracks. They were defective.
The Gray was assigned to watch one section of the perimeter with two other men. He figured they would keep an eye on him as much as the surroundings.
The female Fanatic wasn't sure what they were going to find. She didn't think they were going to find it very soon.
They crept along the service road for the high tension power lines. They didn't want to raise a dust cloud as they moved. They hoped to get a better look of what was in between some of the hills.
The female Fanatic kept watch in the direction they'd seen the Gray go earlier. They figured anyone moving on the dirt road would create a dust cloud like he did going in.
They were near a bend in the road where it would go around the lower part of a hill. The high tension power lines continued on up over it.
"Let me take a look on foot." The female Fanatic said.
She got out of the vehicle and moved up the dirt road. She looked around the bend. She went back.
Jill could see Jackie was in a hurry.
"What is it?" Jill asked. "What did you see?"
The female Fanatic thought it was more about what she couldn't see than what she actually saw.
"I can see a large smoke stack around the next couple of hills." The female Fanatic said. "I can't see the building it's attached to or what it is."
Jill wondered what their next move was going to be.
"Are we going to hike in on foot?" Jill asked. "We can look like hikers."
The female Fanatic thought it was their best option. If they wanted to look like hikers, they wouldn't be able to take very many weapons with them.
"We might be able to drive closer." The female Fanatic said. "The power lines continue on a path towards what I saw."
Jill proceeded to continue down the dirt access road at a very slow speed. She didn't know if they'd be confronted by anyone or not.
The female Fanatic I was a little worried as to how things were going to play out. She was pretty sure she'd found the destination. She wondered if it was going to be her final destination.
Lena and Tina moved off of the main highway to the other side of the road away from where the complex road was located. They would need to hold for now and see what developed. With the drones overhead at altitude, they knew where everyone was at.
They watched where the Gray was taken. He'd been moved to another of the smaller outbuildings before he left with two other men.
"I think the HK equipment is inside of the big building." Lena said.
Tina knew it could be scattered around. They might have dispersed it. The drone was unable to pick any up from altitude. Wherever it was, it was concealed.
"It will be dark soon enough." Tina said. "We'll be able to move closer on foot."
Lena followed the progress of the female Fanatic and her associate.
"I think the two females will attempt to breach the perimeter before we do." Lena said.
Tina wanted to terminate both of them, especially the female Fanatic.
"We can have the drone bring them down at any time with 'metal hail'." Tina said. "I don't think they'll try to move in too close until it gets darker."
Lena knew they needed to wait.
"I don't think a whole lot of anything is going to happen until it's dark." Lena said.
The two female Terminators needed to let events play out.

Temporal Mission:
Past Timeline:
November 24 1963
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Cameron wanted to get moving.
She looked past the downtown area towards where Pico Tower was at. She was tempted to go there right now and take care of the Terminator who was in standby from the mid Twenties. He was in a secret compartment behind a wall.
She'd used the same building on a past temporal mission. There were actually two of her in the building at the same time from different temporal missions. An electrical wire ended up tangled in her hair after the fight her other self carried on with the Terminator. She figured she would have been better off to go up and help herself defeat the Terminator than remain hidden.
It took her months to be able to properly reboot. During the time period, she'd suffered multiple 'nightmares'. She was sure each of the events was based on something from her previous lives. It was what made her suspect she was living her life over and over. They were all very unpleasant episodes. Well, a few of them weren't. Ninety percent of them were terrible.
Young Allison could see Cameron was lost deep in thought. It was usually not a good thing when it occurred. She wanted to keep her focused.
"If we're going to roll, let's roll." Young Allison said. "Is there any other way to get to where we want to go without needing to steal someone's car? I still need to get some running in."
There were a multitude of thoughts in Cameron's head. She went over some of the options.
"We'll see." Cameron said.
She wanted to get Young Allison dinner. There were a few places she knew were open in 1963. They were still open during the time period they'd left from. Well, most of them were anyway. It depended upon where they went.
It was mostly dark by now. It would be completely dark very soon.
Young Allison noticed what looked like homeless people every now and then.
"There's a lot more people lying about the streets than I thought they would be." Young Allison said. "The only thing different about the downtown area is there's a lot less of the giant graffiti. I'm surprised at the number of older cars. They really stand out."
Cameron knew there were always vagrants.
"Winos are just drunks." Cameron said. "There've always been hobos. They're mainly only around the railroad tracks. They usually commit their petty crimes and move on to the next community. They try to stay one step ahead of the law. They are a lot harder to track without modern computers."
Young Allison thought things were handled a little differently in 1963.
"I'm sure most of those people will end up in jail." Young Allison said. "Won't there be around up at some point later on?"
Cameron was aware there was a curfew in effect for minors. It was usually enforced. The police would fill out a 'field information' or 'FI' card on potential juvenile delinquents.
"When it gets later, the only people out will usually be the ones the police will need to roust." Cameron said. "The cure to the homeless situation is called prison. It's against the law to loiter or trespass. Every individual can be taken off of the street and given three square meals a day. They will have housing to protect them from the elements as well. There's plenty of sex in prison. The crime rate will also drop dramatically."
Young Allison thought about how the homeless epidemic got out of control.
"Wasn't President Reagan the one responsible for the rise in the homeless population?" Young Allison asked.
Cameron was aware she was technically correct. There however was a strong contributing factor prior to his actions, or lack of them.
"The failed administration of the previous president was actually the president who started it." Cameron said. "Things were put into motion which continued over into the next administration. The biggest mistake was emptying out the insane asylums. The majority of those people were in there for a good reason. Not only were they a danger to others, many of them were a danger to themselves. Amnesty to illegals didn't help either."
Young Allison knew President Reagan was once Governor of California.
"When will Reagan become Governor?" Young Allison asked.
Cameron was aware of all of the Governors of California. He was the only one to have seen a UFO.
"He will be elected in 1966." Cameron said. "He will serve from 1967 to 1975."
Young Allison remember who the Governor which preceded Reagan was.
"I think the current governor is Brown." Young Allison said.
Cameron knew the name 'Brown' would be involved in California politics for a long time. It involved a father and son.
"Many people believe the Governors of California have failed the state." Cameron said. "They're all elected on the promise of doing great things. Most of them sell out to the special interest groups. A few even go against some of the principles they ran on. In my future, the surviving politicians all work for Skynet. It only further shows what sellouts all of them were."
Young Allison was pretty sure there wasn't much difference between politicians and lawyers. In fact a lot of politicians started out as lawyers.
"Based upon their backgrounds I don't think it's too hard to fathom." Young Allison said. "Lawyers are nothing but paid liars. Whenever there's some type of case before a judge, there are two people with a different story. One of them is lying, the other is not. The lawyers who represent their clients magnify the lies to try to win a decision. At some point in time, they all represent someone who they know is lying, but they do it anyway for the money."
Cameron tilted her head slightly.
"As a generality you're correct." Cameron said. "There are a few other reasons for court cases. When it comes to criminals, if they haven't plead guilty to the charges and there's evidence against them, their lawyer must lie to claim they're innocent."
Cameron was sure if the penalties were more severe, there would be less crime.
Young Allison wondered exactly where they were going. She really didn't like the dirty look of the streets where they were at downtown. Not only was there a lot of trash, the number of winos seemed to increase.
There were a number of city buses on the street. There was a lot of traffic. She watched everyone interact for a while. She could see things had only gotten worse over the years. The driving habits of the people in 1963 weren't much better. She almost witnessed several accidents.
Cameron looked at the route numbers on the buses. They all showed what their destination was on the 'roll sign' over the front window.
"You can see there's a lot of traffic here and it's all over the place." Cameron said. "One of the troubles the streetcars faced was having to interact with the traffic. They couldn't go any faster than the traffic could. Cars often blocked the path of the streetcar. There were many accidents. People always claimed 'the streetcar pulled in front of them'. The streetcar was on a track. The cars were not."
There was a narrow alley between two buildings. A shabby dressed man came out of it and accosted a woman on the street up ahead of them.
"Wait here." Cameron said.
Cameron handed her purse with the firearms in it to Young Allison. She quickly moved up to where the incident was at. She placed herself between the female and the bum.
"Keep going." Cameron said to the female. "I'll take care of this. I'm a social worker."
The female quickly hurried away. She looked back once.
Cameron gave the man a hard shove. He flew backwards into the alley and sprawled on the ground.
Young Allison saw what happened and moved up to the entrance of the alley. Cameron was already part way down it.
The man was surprised at how strong the female was. He didn't know where she came from, but she was sure a lot better looking than the other one he'd approached.
"I just wanted some money for my 'medicine'." The man said.
Cameron moved closer to the man.
"There's only one cure for your sickness." Cameron said.
Young Allison could see Cameron was going to snap the man's neck. She felt the need to say something. If they would have been in her original timeline, she wouldn't have said anything. She figured the perpetrators got what they deserved. There was only one cure for crime.
"I think some corrective action will suffice." Young Allison said.
Cameron was aware Young Allison was now in the alley as well. She knew she needed to moderate her actions. She really didn't think terminating the individual in front of her would make a difference in the long run. She was sure it was going to need to happen on a regular basis. She didn't like females to be accosted. She certainly wasn't going to tolerate any on her own.
"Don't ever approach a female again." Cameron said. "You're the master of your own life, not the bottle. You're where you're at now because of your own actions or inactions."
Cameron took one look around and pushed the man hard into the asphalt of the alley. She let her eyes glow red as she held him. She could see the fear on his face.
"Who are you?" The man asked. "What are you?"
Cameron reached over and picked up a piece of pipe. She bent into a 'U' shape in front of the man. She handed him the pipe.
"I'm 'Justice'." Cameron said. "Spread the word around all females are off limits for crimes of any type."
The man tried to unbend the pipe. He was unable to budge it.
Cameron took back the piece of pipe and bent it straight. She pushed the man back into the asphalt hard. He blacked out.
Young Allison held the Model 19 in her hand inside of her purse. She was ready to use it. No one else appeared or even seemed to notice what went on in the alley.
Cameron came back out.
"I'm sorry about the detour." Cameron said. "It happens a lot when I'm out."
Young Allison heard the stories about the 'girls' night out' escapades. She was aware Cameron always toned it down when she went out with Savannah or her. She didn't when she originally went out with Vanna, Allison, Jesse and even Sarah.
"I've noticed." Young Allison said. "This one wasn't too bad."
Cameron looked back towards where the man lay on the asphalt.
"Most of them are slow learners." Cameron said. "The only cure is termination. The type of termination is determined by the type of crime committed. In some cases there needs to be some type of punishment, or retribution, for what the infraction was."
They moved over a couple more of the downtown city streets. The blocks were all very close together. It seemed a lot of the city buses from different lines were all in back of each other going in both directions. It was the same way on several of the streets they'd passed.
She spotted a placard on an MTA sign.
"We can board a bus here. It will take us into the Valley." Cameron said.
Young Allison saw pictures with a little yellow triangular sign and the word RTD on it. There wasn't one here. She hadn't seen any yet.
"Does the RTD exist yet?" Young Allison asked. "I think it started around this time."
Cameron was aware the transportation system in the Los Angeles area was reinvented and renamed numerous times. Most of them produce the same results. It was complaints from the patrons.
"It's currently the Metropolitan Transit Authority, or MTA." Cameron said "The Rapid Transit District, or RTD, won't start until next year."
Young Allison looked at the signs above the windows on the buses. She spotted one with destinations in the Valley.
"I bet we're going to get on the next one." Young Allison said. "How are we going to pay?"
Cameron took out some coins.
"I picked up some change when I was out the other night." Cameron said.
The bus pulled up and two passengers got off.
Cameron went up the steps with Young Allison behind her. She told the driver what their destination would be. He told her it would require several different 'zones' and there was an additional fee for each one. If they wanted to transfer to another bus, it was also an additional fee.
The doors closed behind them and they moved further into the bus.
There were actually more people on it than Young Allison thought there would be. A man got up and offered his seat to them so they could sit together. She was very surprised.
"Thank you." Cameron said. "You're a real gentleman."
He nodded and moved back a few rows and sat with another patron.
"I can see some things are a little different in 1963." Young Allison said.
Cameron tilted her head slightly.
"Some things change, some things don't." Cameron said.
Cameron and Young Allison started their bus journey.
I Quit
When there are two
Is it about what one will permit
Or is it more likely
As to what one will submit
All of one's experiences
Into the fabric of time are knit
Many will bring two closer together
Others will widen the split
Perhaps the biggest lie
Is the truth one will omit
There's a lot more to it
Than something they forget
Sometimes what is reality
Is a little hard to admit
It's probably an indication
To what one isn't going to commit
No one wants to babysit
Or be seen as a dimwit
They only take so much
Before they say - I quit
Nobody
