Jaune woke up first thing in the morning, there wasn't any class today since it's the weekends. So, he and his team had the day for themselves.
Growing up in a household with seven sisters he was used to chaotic morning routines, being the middle child he was used to helping Mama Arc in making breakfast.
He liked making breakfast, lunch, and dinner for his team and Team RWBY if they asked. He knew everyone's likes and dislikes, for example Pyrrha preferred balanced meals, Nora if isn't pancakes she likes hearty meals and meat, and Ren liked foods with lighter taste or very subtle ones like a salad or Mistralian cuisine.
He enjoyed seeing his friends enjoy things he cook for them. But, it kinda saddens him that he never made Weiss happy, even when he did her food the way she demanded. Only ever comparing him against her personal chefs at home.
He can't blame her for that, there is still a significant difference from high class dining to humble home cooking.
He flipped the pancakes and made the perfectly crispy bacon.
He always made sure to give Nora more stacks, since he know she'll most likely ask for more.
He can't believe what happened yesterday just happened, he can't exactly take back what he said. But, didn't mind hanging out with Whitney to learn more about her.
And, another thing was Weiss was obviously livid about the situation, but Whitney luckily shut the door before Weiss could tell him off.
As a brother of seven, he understands being protective about your younger sister and he can't blame her to be honest.
'And, maybe I'll get to talk to her.'
Weiss was the first one to wake up, she wanted to deny that yesterday's mishaps was a fluke.
She'll reveal to Whitney that Jaune isn't the best candidate for the dance, he is just after the Schnee fortune, isn't he? Or is this one of Whitney's ploys to annoy me? Regardless, Winter needs to know about this.
She freshen herself up and took a quick bath, before heading to one of the gardens to have the privacy she needed.
Weiss feels like she shouldn't disturb Winter, she was a woman who was busy. But, it was an emergency.
Weiss pressed call and waited for Winter to respond.
"Good morning, Weiss I would assume Whitney settled quite nicely in Beacon." Winter voice was heard from the Scroll said.
Winter in the video call seems to be in a military office with stark white walls and bluish fluorescent lighting common in Atlesian design.
"There was no complications on her arrival, except for..." Weiss paused as she was thinking about what she wanted to say.
"Except what? What happened Weiss, please tell me the truth." Winter said with a firm yet concerned tone.
"Someone I know asked her to the Beacon Amity Dance and she accepted it!" Weiss said as her anger surfaced for the Arc boy.
"Weiss, tell me who asked out Whitney to the dance." Winter calmly asked.
"It was that Jaune Arc, he just asked Whitney to the dance. I know he is just after the Schnee fortune through our naive little sister." Weiss accusing the boy.
"Arc you say, hmm." Winter said in acknowledgment.
"Regardless, I don't think its much of a problem as you make it out to be Weiss."
"But-"
Winter cuts off Weiss before she could refute, "Whitney is anything but naive Weiss, she knows how to handle herself in such situations. And, I think its a good experience, it is true she attends social gatherings and appears sociable."
"But, she never lets anyone get close to her except for me, so it come as a surprise to me when I learned she accepted someone else's invitatiom to a dance. You know Whitney doesn't dance, she couldn't dance to save her life."
Weiss begrudgingly agreed.
"She could handle herself as a Schnee, if she genuinely grows to like this boy, then who are we to tear them apart?"
"I just know this wouldn't end well," Weiss sighed.
"I am not convinced, I still believe that Arc is just after the Schnee name." Weiss said unconvincingly.
"Weiss, it's gonna be alright it's just a dance you know, it's not like Whitney will demand father to marry them, let her live a little. You now have friends there in Beacon, and it wouldn't hurt for Whitney to have friends too." Winter said with a sisterly smile.
"Okay, I will respect Whitney's choices, thank you, and forgive me if I took time away from your work."
"It's fine, I always have time for my little sisters. Anyways, take care and goodbye for now."
With that their call was cut off.
Weiss sighed, she wasn't convinced and there was something wrong about this whole situation, right?
Whitney didn't have her usual nightmares that night. She didn't dream of the stark white of her home, and feel how lonely she was in those alabaster halls of the Schnee Manor. Instead, she dreamt of that boy, Jaune Arc.
A boy who was at the cusp of manhood, his light blonde hair shimmered like the sun, and deep ocean blue eyes were looking at her. His eyes were honest and true, he held little to no deceit to his actions. Unlike any other boy in Atlas.
In her dreams, they were sitting in the idyllic plain overlooking mountains that she painted.
Affection wasn't a foreign feeling to her, only ever getting it from Winter and once upon a time from her mother too. Jaune radiates the stuff like a healing aura around him.
His warmth filling whatever hole that was set purchased in her soul, it made her happy.
The dream blurred into reality as the pull of the waking world was taking hold of her.
Whitney began to stir from her sleep and tried to rise up.
She rose up and began to ponder.
The status of her relationship where just like any business deal done by Jacques Schnee, cold and uncaring. It was a matter of time before, Jacques just arranged a marriage for her. She wasn't as talented as her sisters in being able to handle a company, she was just a bargaining chip to further her father's coffers.
But with Jaune he only looks at the girl in front of him, and this is the first time someone looked at her not as a Schnee but as Whitney.
Whitney smiled and giggled to herself, thinking of all the things they could do. But, before she fantasized about Jaune her stomach began to growl demanding for sustenances.
Getting off of her bed, she shed her pajama's and into her day clothes, she prepared herself for the day.
Whitney looked at around the dorm and found Ruby and Yang still asleep, while her sister and Blake were nowhere to be seen.
She remembered where the cafeteria was from the half-hearted tour her sister gave her yesterday. But, before she could head out for breakfast she smelled something divine.
She saw the half-opened doors of Team JNPR, Jaune's team. She was curious about the delectable smell and she wanted to investigate.
Whitney knocked on the door.
The doors opened to reveal, Jaune wearing a pink apron saying, 'Don't kiss the chef' and a black shirt underneath.
"Oh, It's you Whitney. I am making breakfast for today, I could make you anything you like just tell me." Jaune said with a boyish smile.
Whitney was elated to see Jaune and even better he was offering to make her food. She composed herself, Whitney did not want to absolutely make a fool of herself in front of Jaune.
"That would be lovely. I wouldn't mind what you're having, it smells delicious."
"Then anything you want on your pancake?"
"If isn't a bother can you do crêpes? If you can't it's fine-"
"Sure, it's not a problem watch." Jaune said with a confident smile.
Ren's pancake mix was perfect for thick and fluffy pancakes, if he used that mix the thin crêpe would poof up and that wasn't good.
So, he had to make the mix from scratch. Jaune put one cup of flour and one cup of milk, it was perfectly measured and the flour finely sifted. Jaune cracked the egg cleanly and Jaune began to stir with rapid strong but firm strokes.
When, he was done stirring, Jaune set the batter aside as he began to oil the pan with a thin layer of butter using a kitchen brush.
Jaune grabbed a ladle and he drizzled the batter as thinly as possible, as Jaune spun the pan to cover its diameter with a thin layer of batter.
He waits for a minute for the side on the pan to cook before he flips the crêpe with a quick motion of his wrist. After it was done, Jaune set the finish crêpe on a separate plate.
He repeated the process without pause until he ended up with 4 perfectly done crêpe. It was evenly cooked and it had a nice light brown color.
Jaune grabbed sour cream, whipped cream can, and freshly sliced strawberries from the fridge.
Jaune was quick to work with the crêpes, he began meticulously placing the ingredients of each crêpe in an intentional manner.
Jaune folded the crépe in a way that it looked like a rabbit, he stuffed the inside with sour cream and strawberries to hold its form. Jaune split halved strawberries to form its ears which were inserted in slits that he made on the head. And with whipped cream, he used that to create a fluffy tail.
He finished it by drizzling the whole thing with caramel and chocolate syrup. Jaune made sure the two syrups made a hatch mark pattern.
With that Jaune was done creating his little sisters favorite, Bunny Crêpe. It was hard too do and he could have just done an ordinary crêpe, but he didn't mind a little to make a satisfying looking and tasty breakfast.
Whitney was mesmerized by how Jaune made making that crêpe look easy. But her mind and eyes had different ideas.
It wasn't obvious when he greeted her, since the apron obscure most of his top half; and his jacket covering his body when they first. Whitney could see his backside's musculature from how tight his shirt clung to his body.
His jogging pants were made with a generously thick material, but she could see the outlines of his gluteus maximus, and By the Brother it mighty fine one.
She wasn't a perverted girl, she had made nude paintings before and didn't feel an ounce of attraction or arousal to them, male or female.
But, her roaming eyes landed all over Jaune's body. He wasn't grossly muscular, but his physique was aesthetically ideal.
Whitney's brain worked overtime as she mentally visualized all the poses and angles she could draw Jaune in. Her thought began to turn wild as she imagined him slowly taking off layers of his clothes revealing more on more of his bare skin. As she was sketching every part of him on a canvas. Capturing his essence with each stroke.
Whitney immediately bit the inside of her cheek and reign her newfound 'inspiration'.
After all the prep and cooking Whitney was presented with a very cute crêpe setup. Her first instinct was take a picture and immediately post it in her social media.
Whitney kinda felt bad to just dig in and ruin the Bunny Crêpe. But, Jaune was looking at her expecting to eat her breakfast.
Whitney used her knife and fork, gently she eat a piece of the Bunny Crêpe where most of the condiments are placed.
"So, how is it? My little sisters usually like to eat crêpes like this, you don't mind do you?"Jaune asked.
"It's absolutely wonderful! I didn't know you had a talent for this!" Whitney squealed cutely as she ate more and more of the crêpe.
Jaune chuckled a little, it reminded him how much his sisters loved these things. He was gonna be honest, Whitney is cute. She wasn't as bad as Weiss made her out to be when she mentioned her in one of their team hangouts during lunch, but never elaborated further.
Weiss had mentioned that Whitney was spoiled and bratty. But, he could only see a girl enjoying herself. Maybe she just act like to Weiss, he was familiar with how her sisters acted differently dependimg who they were speaking to.
It was still too early to judge her character, but her first impression is a positive one.
"Uhm, Whitney there is some cream on your cheek."
Whitney had to stop stuffing more crêpe as she seemed to forget her manners for a moment.
"Could you wipe it for me?" Whitney asked bashfully.
Jaune blinked once, and shrugged.
"Sure."
Whitney leaned forward, she didn't know why she asked that. But, she didn't let the opportunity to be pampered by her first crush to pass by.
Jaune with his thumb simply swiped the cream off of her cheek and lips. And, he just put in his mouth.
Whitney felt Jaune's calloused thumb over her cheeks and lips. His touch though it was brief, it was gentle and firm. It gave Whitney a warm feeling in her chest.
Whitney face was flushed red and covered her cheeks with her hand, try to desperately hiding her embarrassment. But, before Jaune could do it to the other cheek
Jaune flinched from her reaction and seemed apologetic, "Sorry, I didn't mean to do that, if you want I could just get a napkin instead."
As Jaune was about to get one, Whitney grabbed his arm and keep him there.
"It wasn't a problem, I.. uh.. um... like it." Whitney said weakly as her face flushed pink while she was retreating into her corner.
"Well, could I just get the other side?"
Whitney nodded with a smile.
Jaune did the same motion and gently wiped off a piece of cream on her cheek.
Jaune was mesmerized by how she seemed to glow with just a simple act. It made him feel warm and cozy in his chest.
Whitney also felt the same, as her head was filled with fuzzy and comfy thoughts about Jaune.
"I know it's strange to ask now, but are you sure you want ME to be your date for the Amity Dance."
"Yes!" Whitney enthusiastically said as she grasp Jaune's hand.
Whitney retreated just as quickly realized how embarrassing she was acting in front of Jaune.
"Ahem, I meant I would be glad to be your date for the dance."
"Heheh, that's is very good to know. I ain't much, but I would be the best dance partner you'll have. I swear that I'll make it the best night for you, And an Arc never breaks their word." Jaune said with a grin.
Whitney couldn't find any perfect person to be with right now, and to her that was Jaune. Hr was surpassing her expectations like he would never imagine. Also, an oath to make her happy made her feel relieved about Jaune.
But, their time alone together was cut short when his team got back there dorm.
Whitney felt someone pull her into a hug from behind and when she looked back. She saw a ginger-haired girl that was hugging her for no reason.
"Hello, Weissy I'd never thought you'd willingly go here for breakfast after what Fearless Leader pulled off last week!" she said.
"Nora that isn't Weiss." The mistralian man said as he pry Nora off of her.
"Oh! She looks like Weiss but taller."
"Hello there, I'm Pyrrha."
"Good Morning, I am Lie Ren and this is Nora." he introduced himself.
"Heya, I'm Nora so you were the one who said yes to be Jaune-Jaune's date?"
"Yes, I did is there something wrong?" Whitney asked.
"Nope, I just to see what kind of girl Fearless Leader wooed."
Nora gasped, "That bunny pancakes are so cute! Jaune make me some and make a litter of them!" she said as she violently shook Jaune.
"Sure." Jaune just returned to the kitchen to do those crepes again.
Whitney watched as the rest of JNPR took seats. She saw Pyrrha looking at her, there was something about the way that the red head was looking at her, that unnerved her. But, Pyrrha made a polite smile at Whitney's way and she returned in kind.
But, someone else were watching them, unbeknownst to the people in JNPR's room.
Weiss couldn't wrap her head around the fact that dunce managed to make her younger sister fall for him more with his home cooking. Whitney had better taste than what Jaune could offer? Sure it was slightly better than what the cafeteria could offer, she was better than that!
She decided to stay in the garden to clear her mind of Whitney or Arc. After witnessing how childish Whitney was acting with Jaune.
Maybe doing advance readings for Oobleck's class or finishing her assignment due next week could clear her mind.
Weiss could hear footsteps approaching her, she turned to see Whitney looking very anxious.
She was about to say something but she hesitated. Weiss knew something was wrong, she never had been this sheepish or nervous look on her, and Whitney of all people.
"Oh, Whitney what brings you here?"
"Weiss... I-I-" Whitney stuttered as words refuse to come out of her mouth.
Whitney swallowed her pride and just said it, "I want you to teach me how to dance."
Weiss looked at Whitney with shock, her little sister didn't approach her for anything. She only over interacts with Winter or Klein and prefers to gloat at her.
"Whitney, I think you're taking this farce too far?"
"What?" Whitney asked in genuine confusion.
"Whitney, I'll have to be honest with you. Jaune is playing you for a fool." Weiss bluntly said.
"No! You're lying I know he isn't like that!"
"Just last week the dunce he made me those Bunny Crepes to impress me and I would guess he did the same to you."
Whitney stayed silent for a moment.
"He did but I asked for them and he made for me just because I told him to." she argued.
"He had asked me out countless of times, and when he saw you. I guess he found you an easier person to coax with seemingly gentle gestures-"
"SHUT UP! Just teach me how to dance and I'll never annoy you ever again, please..."
Weiss gave her younger sister a hard stare, but she closed her eyes and sighed.
"Fine, but if Arc hurts you in any way. Don't come crying to me, you CHOSE this." Weiss emphasized.
"Deal." Whitney said as scoffed and leaving Weiss in the garden.
"8:00 a.m sharp on the Garden, if you're late I'll going to leave."
"Fine." Whitney huffed as she wanted to clear her frustration by hanging out with JNPR.
Later that night, there was an unspoken tension between the Schnester as Yang would call them, much to Ruby and Blake's annoyance. They didn't ask why they ignore each others existence and feign ignorance if asked. But, they definitely knew it was about Jaune or related to him.
Damn, I just vanished for a while and this blew up. Thanks for all the reviews and all the positive feedback. I was surprised people like this fic. I just like genderbent fic, it's not that I am anti-gay shipping, I just really like genderbent AUs and their rare in current year.
I am foremost a genderbent fanfic writer.
Also, do y'all like my drawing of Whitney, I did myself. I'll post in my twitter.
This fic was more of a whim for me, since I just had this fic in the back burner for a while. I just posted it after I got some ideas from the WK Discord Server. So, far I'll try my best to have Whitney interact with the Beacon Crew,
I just got some motivation to write again. Since, I posted a new fic, 'Zero Gravity'. And, my fans of 'Grapvine' I'm overhauling that one too since I didn't like the way I made the original so stay tuned for the reboot.
