The battles all went by without a hitch. Sung kept a close eye on them, gauging everyone else in the class. Someone else, Todoroki, managed to earn a victory even more smooth than his own. And the bird head, Tokoyami, was a bit too similar to him in quirk and style for comfort. His shadow wasn't exactly the same, and it was only one. Though judging from what he overheard, it might possibly have different applications at night. Either way, it was annoying to watch, with a certain ant king clamoring on about 'showing this usurper who the true shadow lord was'
As class ended, many stayed behind to talk about the results, complain of their losses, or boast in their victories. To him, things like that didn't matter, he had someone he wanted to talk to.
Outside, in the front gate of the school grounds, an oddly quiet looking blonde walked alone, a solemn look on his face. He didn't make a peep, and didn't show much emotion.
"Katsuki."
"Eh?" The blonde kid stared back with only a small scowl.
"I'll lay it all out in front of you. No more lies, and maybe you needed to hear this a long time ago. But i'm strong. Way stronger than you, and everyone else i've ever met. But if you think it's cause I got lucky you're wrong. I worked hard, trained harder, and experienced things you couldn't even imagine. Which is why I say again, instead of blaming your losses on me, take a good look at yourself."
Those words caused a reaction as if he just recited some old voodoo paralysing spell, twitching eyelids and all.
"What the hell...did you think I needed you, to tell me this or something? But you just gotta rub it in, huh? I mean, what the hell! I lost to you again!"
Katsuki's voice cracked, becoming more and more strained as his eyes filled with tears.
"And as if that wasn't the worst part, I actually agree with what you have to fucking say! It was the same with that ice guy, how am I suppose to beat that!? But no more! I'm done messing around! From here on, you hear me! From here on out i'm not stopping until I beat every last one of you! Enjoy your spot on top, cause i'm gonna rip it from under you!"
And with that, he turned around and stomped his way out. Jin-woo, who was actually taken aback by his declaration, smiled slightly. Every time, every time they fought in the past, he would find some excuse to justify his loss. That somehow Jin-woo had tricked him or deceived him with his strange quirk. But with it all out there in the air, there was no where to run, he was simply outclassed. And that, was just fine. Accepting that was the first step on truly becoming the best he could.
The next day just started and it was already gonna be a pain, a massive wall of reporters blocked the entrance. He thought about parting them with his rulers authority, get a little exodus action in there. Although he thought against it when he considered the lawsuits for possible injury. And instead decided on ol reliable.
"Kaisel"
Like a torpedo into the sky, he hovered above school until he found his exact building. Maybe this was a bit much, setting up a shadow for teleportation to class in the morning is probably the way to go.
"Good work on the battle training, I already read over your performances and evaluation. Bakugo, enough with the recklessness, there are better options for the situation you were in other than blindly challenging a strong opponent."
"Tch...got it."
"Onto homeroom business, today you're gonna be picking out a class president."
In unison, it seemed everyone shot their hands out. Sung couldn't really understand why, wasn't it all just a bunch of admin work? He always had Yoo Jin-ho for that stuff…
'Damn, I forgot about him. I'm, starting to forget about a lot of people'
Was it healthy to dwell on a past that didn't even exist anymore? Throughout all this time, his attempts to find them have dwindled more and more, until he stopped trying altogether. Perhaps it was time to accept they no longer existed. As he sat there brooding on his backstory, he failed to notice the whole class staring at him.
"So your president is Sung Jin-woo and your vice president is Yaoyorozu."
"Eh?"
"Weren't you paying attention? We just voted you as president!" Called out the pink girl, Mina.
"GH! I can't believe I didn't get a single vote. Oh well, it was destined to be you."
"Why, did you wanna be president Iida?" The Korean asked off handedly.
"Well, to hold such an important position, i'd be honored to-"
"Great then I pass it onto you." The korean said disinterestedly.
"Ah!?"
Lunch hall, It was always packed full of students, Jin-woo would sometimes forget that it was primarily a highschool with many other classes outside of the two hero courses.
"Say, Jin-woo, what made you give up being president so easily?" Asked Uraraka.
"I don't see why I should be interested in doing some boring paperwork or managerial things."
Iida nearly choked on his rice.
"Absurd! The sacred line of duty that is to be president, is a precious role with the utmost importance. You require traits begetting that of a true leader to make it as a president. Like myself."
"Didn't you get zero votes?" teased the brown haired girl.
"Hngh!"
"Also, I can tell by the way you talk, you must be, a rich kid!"
"Well, i'd rather people not know, but yes. I come from an esteemed family, the great Iida hero family!"
'That's why his suit looks so much like ingenium's'
"As you see-"
VREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
"The alarm!?"
"Security level 3 has been broken. All students, please evacuate in an orderly fashion."
"Level three!? Someone has infiltrated UA! Everyone run for your lives!"
Absolute chaos ensued, with his two lunch mates running into the fray as the entire cafeteria emptied into the hallways, which were not particularly built with this in mind. Jin-woo, not worried in the slightest, sent out dozens of shadows to find this infiltrator, but in the end it seemed to just be a gang of journalist.
"They're even worse in this world than they were in mine."
Iida managed to calm down the horde of scared students earlier, further cementing his status as class president. Although, after the journalist cleared, Jin-woo was shocked to see the entire front gate of the school. One of his patrolling shadows caught the other teachers gathered round a massive pile of dust. Whoever could have done that, was no reporter by any means.
"Alright, hero training, this time i'll be joined by All Might and one other hero."
"What exactly will we be doing?"
"Simple, you'll all be doing rescue training. Disaster relief, dealing with different types of environments where you might have to work."
"Aw hell yeah, i'm pumped!"
Several different students shouted their excitement. Meanwhile Sung sat there in thought, has he ever focused on rescuing people? Dungeon breaks were the only situation he could think of where civilians were in danger. And while there were a few moments in Japan, during the giant raid, that he had to help with the evacuation process, he didn't do much. But i mean, how hard can it be to pick someone up and carry them to an ambulance?
"Oi! I'm not done. Some of you might not want to wear your costumes, as some might be ill suited to this kind of thing. I leave that up to you. Alright, bus will be here soon. Get ready."
After a humorous exchange with Iida attempting and failing to herd the class like cattle, everyone found themselves lounging around in the bus for the drive.
"I usually always say what's on my mind, Sung."
"Oh?"
"You seem to have multiple quirks, don't you?"
"..." He wasn't sure how to respond to his frog like teammate. He never actually thought about how he should go about explaining his abilities. Would it be multiple quirks? One quirk that just has multiple abilities for some reason?
"Yeah what's up with that! All I get is boring ass hardening, useful, but not flashy. Jin-woo over here has super speed, undead, telekineses, teleportation, what else do you got bro!?"
"Hah...yeah it's something."
"Hmm, I think Sung needs to work on his social ability before he can be a popular hero though. No offense."
Well she did say she says whatever is on her mind.
"But at least it's not unhinged and violent like Bakugo."
"Wanna run that by me again frog face!?"
"See?"
Suddenly their homeroom teacher gave a harsh glare at them, "Look sharp, we're here."
As they all filed inside, they were met with something that looked akin to an amusement park. One way nicer than any the shadow lord himself has been to.
"Floods, city fires, landslides. Everything you can imagine is here. I built this facility, I call it, the unforeseen simulation joint!"
'USJ…'
"Hey is that thirteen! The rescue specialist!"
Jin-woo has heard of her before. Wielding an extremely powerful quirk known as black hole. It first creates a vortex of immense gravitational pull, then deconstructs everything that gets too close to an atomic level, ripping everything apart atom by atom, before erasing it completely. How would that thing affect a shadow, he thought. Monarchs and shadows are not true corporeal beings afterall.
"Hey, thirteen, where is all might?"
"He reached his limit on his way here. He's resting shortly."
"Hmph, how irrational."
"Alright class, before we start, I wanna make a few points. I'm sure you know of my quirk, it's useful in my job of saving people, but it can also be used to kill. I'm sure many of your quirks are the same. While we are heavily monitored, it only takes one wrong move to do serious damage, you learned this in All Mights battle training. Here, however, I offer a new perspective. To use your power for saving lives, your powers were never meant to inflict harm!"
'All evidence to the contrary, my-'
Jin-woo's face went as cold as a winters morning. Turning around suddenly, he focused his gaze on the center of the room. Catching on to his student's serious change in tone, Aizawa did the same.
'It's not possible, a gate, here!? I can feel it forming!'
A dark purple swirl appeared from nothing, and as it did, Jin-woo was left confused. This was not the usual gate, this was something else, and yet it felt eerily similar. And then it poked out, a hand hidden face with shaggy white hair, eyes full of hate.
'Whoever that is, his bloodlust is off the charts'
"Stay together and don't move! Thirteen, protect the students!"
It looked like a dungeon break. From the portal came dozens of creepy looking individuals of all shapes and sizes. Wielding weapons, quirks, and more.
"What the, who are those people!"
"Don't move! Those are villains!"
Sung, despite the events occurring, couldn't help but elate on the inside. Now we're talking! Some real action! This was just what he needed to help himself settle in.
"Sung! Take another step and you're expelled when this is all over!" Aizawa noticed the korean making his way towards the villains.
"You can't fight all those guys alone."
"Hmph, shut up and watch."
As the students huddled together and discussed their worries, and the possible plans of the villains, Jin-woo watched as Aizawa leapt into the middle of the massive group of villains and expertly weaved in and around them like a snake. Despite not being known as a strength hero, he was making short work of them.
"Sung, what are you waiting for, we are leaving!"
"I'm afraid that won't be happening." Called out a deep sinister voice.
'He just teleported! A villain with a gate quirk, how annoying'
"You see, we are the league of villains. And we have an important mission, to destroy the symbol of peace, All Might!"
"Like hell we'd let you!"
Out of the gate, the two most reckless of the class, Bakugo and Kirishima, landed a double blow in unison. Though, with his smoke body, it did virtually no damage.
"That was close, despite being students you are all rather strong. I'm afraid you have no choice but to die!"
"How about, you die instead."
From all the way in the back, a single dagger split the air amongst them and struck something metallic within the black smoke, dissipating it from around them.
"HAGH! W-what!?" The villain winced in pain.
Strolling through the shocked students, Jin-woo calmly walked over to what appeared to be a metallic brace with the smoke leaking out.
"This must be your real body."
"But, how could you-"
"I can see everything. You and your buddies made a mistake you won't be able to regret by coming here."
The villain, looking up into the boys cold, blue, glowing eyes. These were not eyes of a mere student! Those were the eyes of someone who's killed. Someone who's seen a lifetime of violence. In fact, this kids entire aura filled him with a dread he couldn't describe, as if he was a living embodiment of death.
"W-what are you!?"
"I'm a lost king."
The rest of the class watched as he withdrew the dagger and somehow willed it out of existence. Keeping the brace secure with the underside of his boot.
"Woah...that was really edgy." whispered Kaminari, getting a few nervous chuckles. Even thirteen was lost, in a split second, this student had a fearsome enemy down and scared for his life.
Turning back to his class, he saw as the villains began to mobilize to different parts of the massive dome.
'They're like rats'
"Someone watch over him. I'm going in to help our teacher."
"Now wait just a second, you're my responsibility, we need to evacuate and wait for All Might." Called out Thirteen.
'I know I could easily just teleport us all out but...I really don't wanna miss this or abandon Aizawa'
"But don't you think they would have a plan for us if we left or tried to escape, we have a good vantage point right here."
Thirteen didn't completely like the idea of going along with the plan of a 14 year old, but he did have a point. A part of her also personally wanted to know she could help if Aizawa was caught in a situation he could not survive.
"Hmmm, fine, but we all stick together right here, no one leaves my sight."
The students, divided on whether or not they agreed with jin-woo's feeling that they should stay, watched the fighting below intensely. Completely unaware of the ambush being set up for them.
In the center, the man covered in hands began to tear at his own neck.
"No, no, no no no. This isn't going right at all. First All Might isn't here, now Kurogiri has been taken down. We need him for the plan, he's our escape after all! I'm getting pissed off. Let's remove this scum, right now."
He then launched himself into a full sprint towards the raven haired hero, getting an elbow in the gut for his effort, but as he grabbed it, it began to crack away, revealing the flesh underneath.
Aizawa kicked him a good length off, creating some distance and held his arm in pain. 'He was turning it to dust, it must have been him who destroyed the gate before.' "So, you're the boss."
"Hahaha, nice try, but you're wrong. He is."
Jin-woo watched a grand total of about three seconds of his teacher being grabbed by the face and smashed into the ground before he completely ignored his orders and jumped down. Reeling back his max strength, he let loose a punch of such power it shook the ground beneath them, but all it did was cause the beastly creature to vibrate.
"Ho? One of the brats comes down to save his teacher, did you really think you could do something to my symbol of anti peace? He has shock absorption. Not even All Might can kill him, and you uh, must have forgotten something."
Understanding his mistake, the necromancer turned around to see his class be consumed by the dark smoke and teleported around the massive facility.
'Shit! I told them to watch him!'
"Hahahah! Oh this is just too good, guess I should take the opportunity to thin out the future heroes in making."
The villain dashed forward, tackling Jin-woo to the ground, shoving his full five fingers onto his face….only nothing happened.
"Heh, you really are imp-...what!?" He saw that the crimson eyed hero he was just about to accidently commend was eating cement right about now. Meaning this wasn't the work of quirk erasure. He tried it again, jabbing all his fingers onto the boy over and over. From beneath his hand, was a very angry student. "This doesn't make any sense, why aren't you crumbling away!?"
The korean, eye's glowing blue, grabbed at his wrist and pried him off by force. The grey haired man jumped back near his hulking monster.
"Just what kind of quirk do you have!?"
"It's simple really...I'm the King of the Dead."
And with that, a huge portion of the floor around them was dyed black as a purple glow began to shine through. And from it, an army of every conceivable creature erupted forth, filling the USJ with their presence. Insects, orcs, knights, giants, undead, everything. Each one rushing into the several zones of the massive dome and engaging in the many villains that lay waiting.
"W-what!? Nomu! Kill him! Kill him right now!"
"Iron."
The mutant did as the boy did before, throwing a wild punch of a speed not unlike All Might himself. However, only the sound of a loud clang was heard as it was stopped, barely, by a giant, purple shield.
'I can't beat him alone. I'm gonna need everyone'
"Beru, Bellion, Igris."
These strange incantations spawned three very powerful looking summons. From afar, the warp gate villain could only watch. Cautious not to be taken down a second time.
"You have your beast, I have mine."
"It is an honor to fight at your side once again my liege." Stated the very mighty looking Bellion. With a snap not unlike thunder, a long 'blade' broke the air with a whip like motion.
"Oh my king, i've been waiting for this for so long. To call upon us in battle!" The ever overzealous insect shouted with pride.
"Stop that." He couldn't help but smile at Beru's antics. But even moreso, his heart began to beat faster and faster. Surrounded by the sounds of battle, he and his team looked onward to this monstrosity that, in their current state, overpowered them all. For the first time in over a decade, he would have a true fight.
The head honcho of the villains on the other hand, felt his heart beat faster for other reasons, like why the hell a literal legion of monsters, some dwarfing nomou in size, just erupted out of a small teenage boy. But appearances were often used for bluffs, and these summons may very well be all bark and no bite, his Nomou was created to be even stronger than All Might, meaning no one, nothing should be able to defeat it.
"Nomu!"
"Beru!"
"KIIIIEEEEEHHKK!"
