"Don't you see! It's hopeless! We're all gonna die! AAAAAAAA!"
"Mineta, just give me a moment to gauge the distance, I might be able to clear this jump."
When Jin-woo brazenly charged in to save their teacher, they made the mistake of letting that catch them by surprise. A moment of carelessness which led to them all being suddenly enveloped in a shroud of darkness, before being teleported around the dome.
Asui was lucky that she was sent to the flood zone, a show of their enemies lack of knowledge. After saving the not so lucky Mineta, they took shelter on top of the stranded boat.
"Wait, do you see that! Look over there! It's Sung!" Mineta cried out, as a massive discoloration in the area began to set in. A void of black sprung forth from their classmates feet, and from it, came the so called army they heard about. Only this time it wasn't just the good old knights of yore, it was everything they could think of. And as soon as they spawned, they dispersed.
"Mineta, here's our chance." Asui wrapped the purple haired boy in a coil of tongue as she used the surrounding villain's surprise to her advantage. And as she made the jump of her life, teammate crying all the while, she got a birds eye view of a sea creature of monstrous size enter the water and make those villains regret leaving their beds.
As the scattered students distinguished themselves in their battle against the onslaught of villains, they found swift victory when the ghastly conjurations of their fellow student came to finish the job. Although it would be hard to sleep after seeing an insect that big in person.
They noted how in sync the army battled, it was not a chaotic mess of clashing attacks, but more like a strategically led machine. There was an obvious hierarchy of squads and commanders at play as they moved from location to location. And soon each zone was getting progressively cleaned up.
Kurogiri definitely needed to find a way out of this, for they had grossly miscalculated. They spent months perfecting Nomou, and weeks planning the attack. Finding the right people, the time and place. The actual motions to kill the man himself. Though they could have never have foreseen a student go toe to toe with their hulking abomination. Though student was a bad name, walking legion was more like it.
'I must find a way to get Tomura and the Nomou out of the area. If All Might arrives and joins the battle, we'll have no chance against the both of them'
The problem was that Shigaraki Tomura was not an often times agreeable person, dragging him out of the fight when he was irritated this way would just earn his ire, something that could prove fatal, but so was staying in this battlefield.
For that reason, he tactically decided to leave the students near the entrance alone. If they brought pros here, Tomura might be more inclined to retreat, deluding himself that it was only at the threat of facing a large group of pros that he had to leave, as opposed to turning chicken at the might of a young teen.
Scratch scratch scratch scratch
"No no no no NO NO NO! This is impossible! This can't be happening!"
Before him he saw something that could make his blood vessels burst. The pride of his sensei's lead scientist, the product of carefully formulating an unbeatable symbol of evil power, was unable to defeat this mere child.
With the aid of his four shadows, the Korean fought a battle of agility and dexterity vs brawn. He learned quick that blunt force of their caliber wasn't going to cut it. And so with a combination of his daggers, Bellions chain sword, Beru's claws, Igris greatsword, and Iron's shield, they would slowly tear apart pieces of the beast flesh off, while cycling behind Iron for defence, as even a single unprotected hit would probably lead to great injury.
Feeling as if it was fed up with their attacks, it smashed its fist into the ground so hard that a mini tornado was kicked up, throwing all five of the monster's opponents off their feet like rag dolls.
"Get a grip you little punk, Nomou can do more than absorb blunt attacks."
The Shadow Monarch watched with annoyance as it regenerated all of the cuts and injuries in seconds. This was going to be a battle of both speed, and persistence.
"Fine then." 'Quicksilver'
Dusting himself off, he charged in once again, this time much faster than before. At the cost of his mana, he was using the sprint, quicksilver and Dagger Rush skill on repeat over and over again. Essentially using them just to move at this point. Leading him to appear as nothing more than a blur in the wind, no longer visible, even by the monster he fought with.
As it raised those massive fist once again, a loud demanding "Bellion!" was heard. And the long bladed chain reached out and sliced both set of hands off in one clean blow.
"What are you doing? You just saw he can regenerate from wounds."
"That's right, but he's not immune to those cuts huh? He has to regenerate to continue fighting, which means he will eventually reach a point he can die."
"Arrogant little twerp!"
Letting out a groan of effort, the boy pushed himself to limits he hasn't touched in years. The heart that beats against his chest, the blood rush in his head, the growing fatigue and the actual presence of a danger. These sensations were coming back to him after so long, he actually began to smile, if only slightly. While not his primary concern in this world, he was having fun.
'More, more, keep going!'
"Tch, Kurogiri do something!"
The living warp gate, who hovered at Tomura's side, inched closer, trying to find a way to save the Nomou. He hesitated greatly, however, watching what appeared to be a team of human blenders turn the floor into a bloodbath as flesh and sinew were sliced and diced at a speed that would make getting close an impossibility.
"Shigaraki, we should entertain the idea of escape!"
"Escape!?"
The grey haired man gave a once over on his options, despite what he thought possible, it appeared as if Nomou was truly going to die somehow. Though if they were going to leave empty handed, he was going to do something to feel better about it, and so in his sadistic mind, he knew just what he was going to do before a cowardly retreat.
"Yes, escape, if I can't kill All Might, then I guess i'll just leave some dead kids for him to find, how's that? I'll teach you to mess with me."
He then began to slip into Kurogiri's wormhole, keeping a gleeful smile onto the annoying student before him. While upset that his original plan was going to fail, watching this would be hero cry out in despair over his dead friends would be honey for the eyes.
"Now! Tusk!"
Crying out for one of his summons, the dark lord gripped the now emaciated and torn apart Nomou by the arm and tossed him straight into the air. And with a large inhale, a massive conflagration of intense fire scorched the higher echelons of the dome, until the ceiling itself was no longer visible within the black looming smoke.
Taking the risk in changing targets, believing that the deed was done, he stomped on his heel and launched himself full speed at the duo.
'I'm not gonna make it!'
With a small midair twist, Jin-woo let one of his daggers fly out like a meteor, and at the last moment sliced a large wound onto the mans arm, sending him hurdling out of the gate and onto the hard ground.
Shigaraki let out a small cry of pain, struggling to move at all as blood began to pour out the open cut faster than he had liked. And as he saw the charred, unmoving corpse of his precious nomou fall like a piece of charcoal from the sky, he began to let a slew of hate filled rants out at his predicament.
Kurogiri had enough, staying was far too dangerous. Circling himself around Tomura, the warp gate slowly dissipated until nothing was left. Though he was left beyond unnerved that the horrifying student who had sent them packing didn't move to pursue them, and simply watched with a smug look on his face. It was true that in that position a student wouldn't be allowed to go after a villain, they lacked a license. But this boy had proved that he cared little for their regulations. He had battled them of his own volition. All in all, he was one to lookout for, sensei would be very interested in this little development. If this student can grow to become the next, even stronger symbol of piece, they have to do everything in their power to nip this problem before it blooms.
When Kurogiri abandoned his post at the front entrance, Iida ran all the way to UA to alert for backup. Though when All Might, and the rest of the pros finally showed up, what they had waiting for them was quite the sight.
Like a gift wrapped present, the dozens of villains who had attacked, were on their knees, tied up or placed in makeshift handcuffs, with Thirteen and the class watching over them, as their home room teacher Aizawa was being tended to on the side.
All the students were accounted for and brought back to school to give a report on the incident, while their teacher was brought into the medical lab for emergency surgery. Though that isn't where it ended, all the reports, those from students and even Thirteen paint the same picture: Jin-woo turned the place into a warzone. And that's why here he was in the schools office with investigators riding his hide.
"I'd do it again."
"You don't understand kid, you lack a hero license. You were given explicit orders from both Erasure Head and Thirteen to stay put."
"I'm sure Erasure Head would rather be alive than have his orders followed."
"Why you little!"
"Leave him. We'll take it from here."
"Detective Tsukauchi! And All Might!"
It was only a matter of time before these "nine to five" lower cops were sent away. He already felt a growing ire in the way they acted sometimes, as if some of them resented heroes for having strong quirks. Either way it seems he finally gets to talk to someone of importance.
"Good afternoon, as you just heard i'm Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi."
"He's a close friend of mine, young man."
This was cemented as All might "deflated" the moment the other police left the room and the door was locked. Sung wasn't totally surprised that others knew of his condition, but just how many were there? Was it really this big, well kept secret?
"How's Aizawa."
"Alive, and recovering, thanks to you. I know you disobeyed direct orders and got involved, but from everyone's reports, it seemed as if you moved without thinking huh?"
Did it really go down that way? In his old life, after attaining this unbeatable power, he slowly forgot the sensation that is losing, hell, he rarely had anything bad happen to him. Having untold power led to a life of security. But two moments do come to mind. While he wasn't particularly close to his home room teacher yet, watching him get smashed around like a toy was enough to make him get involved without a second thought, perhaps it was because he was so unused to the idea of people he took responsibility for being injured, especially in his presence.
"Don't worry young man, you did a great thing. I was kind of hoping for a moment like this to transpire anyway. Many great heroes, myself included, usually have a common event that started us on our path. We moved without thinking. Throwing yourself in harms way, and into the proverbial hot seat with authorities, for the sake of saving someone who needed saving is the mark of a true hero."
"Now now All Might, we shouldn't make it a habit to engage in vigilantism." Tsukauchi joked. Although it was a rather serious matter in all honesty. Vigilantism is a crime, no matter if people are saved because of it. "As for you, Sung, I want to ask someone questions. We need to learn more about these villains, and why they attacked when they did."
"Owwwwww" Moaned the still injured Shigaraki. "He, he cut me pretty deep in my arm, I can't even move."
He laid on the cold floor of what appeared to be a dingy, empty, bar. His smoke like attendant closed the gate and tightened his form akin to that of a human, complete with a formal looking vest outfit, then began to rummage around back for a first aid kit.
"We were totally defeated, he even killed Nomou...a 14 year old killed our anti symbol of peace! It's enough to make me want to scream, what horse shit is that! And to top it all off our hired muscle were no match for any of the kids, they're strong too!"
"Hmmm." Mused a voice on the other side of the blank computer screen. "A student did all this you say? And what of Nomou again?"
"He was utterly defeated, and reduced to ash."
"All the trouble we went through to make him as strong as All Might...a real shame that is."
"Master, that kid, he might be an even greater threat than All Might. His quirk is on another level. If he wasn't there we could have..."
"Oh come now Tomura, there's no use crying over spilled milk. This was not a useless endeavor, we learned much about our situation. This development does not have to be a purely negative one after all. While this student may have a strong ability, remember that quirks are similar to gifts, and gifts can be taken away."
