Immortal: I still live! I truly apologize that this is not the actual chapter you've all been waiting for, but I couldn't stand going another day without giving you all something. In truth I hit a writers block and whenever I did have something in mind, I wouldn't feel entirely satisfied. I even got as far as having full chapters written out, but I would still feel unsatisfied with it and start from scratch. That's not even getting into the stresses and actions of daily life, plus playing Fate/Grand Order also does take time. Furthermore, the more I delve into Arthurian myth, the more I realize that it is a complex lore to say nothing of the Fate series and the take on the original mythology. It's a bit of a challenge to say the least. HOWEVER, I absolutely will NOT give up on this story. I even have an ending or three in mind.

Good End

Bad End

The True Ending.

Gudako: You know that the only reason you've even been allowed to get this far is because I'm waiting for you to whale for Castoria. And yes, I mean whaling! You're gonna get me at LEAST a NP3 Castoria.

Immortal: I know, I know. I'll whale for Castoria. But don't you think I oughta get at least SOME slack for getting you Caenis and Romulus=Quirinus. Plus not to mention all the other Servants since my last update.

Gudako: Hey, if you updated sooner and lower your standards, then this wouldn't have to happen.

Immortal: Nuh-uh. Standards are standards and I want the readers to enjoy every chapter! With that out of the way, I can at least get this one going!.

Interlude: April Fools!

"Mordred! Hey Mordred!"

A voice was calling excitedly as the Saber turned to see who was calling after her.

"Hey Master, what's up?", smiled Mordred as she saw her running up to her in apparent excitement. She had been heading to the simulator for some more sword practice with her father, but for her Master she was willing to spend some time with her before that. Curiously enough, Mash Kyrielight wasn't with her, but Mordred assumed she was doing something else.

"I just pulled a new Servant!", Ritsuka was practically bouncing with glee and… was she actually drooling a little? No, it wasn't her imagination, her master DEFINITELY had some drool leaking out the side of her mouth. Mordred had known her Master long enough at this point to be aware that she was secretly something of a gambling addict. The thrill of throwing Saint Quartz, pseudo-spiritron crystals or something of the sort, at the summoning room and anticipating a strong Servant was something that she could not get over. She threw literally millions of QP of her allowance just to buy more and attempt more, as she called it, "rolls".

But for her to be literally drooling in sheer glee raised eyebrows even for those close to her. Ritsuka hugged herself and practically squirmed on the spot, rubbing her thighs together, "I had to do lots of unsavory and possibly illegal acts to get the quartz I needed, but I finally did it! I got a SIX-STAR servant!"

"Eh, what the hell are you-?"

Suddenly the Saber was grabbed on her shoulders and pulled until she was nose-to-nose with her Master, staring into her orange-yellow eyes, which had pupils the size of pinheads. Mordred was too shocked to respond properly as her Master repeated herself, "A. SIX. STAR. SERVANT! Do you understand!?"

"Okay already! Goddammit, what the hell is your problem?!", Mordred demanded as she pushed at her Master to let her go, wondering just what the hell kind of lunacy she had been consumed by. But to her surprise, Ritsuka wasn't letting go and instead she turned and began to ran with her with such force that Mordred, armored and all was being tugged along with her.

"Come on! You gotta see for yourself! I can't explain Her Majesty well enough on my own!"

Mordred was now really beginning to worry as she tried to dig in her heels, but her Master was still tugging her along with frightening strength until she finally got them to her personal room. She unlocked the door and pulled the Saber in. Mordred had enough and yanked herself free before she grabbed the giggling and still-drooling human by the front of her shirt.

"SNAP OUT OF IT MASTER! Just what the ever-living fuck is wrong with you!? Are you possessed?! Is it the other Chaldea Master, "Gudako" again? Just what is-!"

"I see you're as uncouth as ever… child."

The room suddenly went dead quiet save for a soft gasp from Mordred.

'That voice… no… no freaking way… Master… she didn't…!'

Mordred had been pulled so roughly into the room that she didn't notice a person sitting languidly on the bed, one slender leg resting on a knee, her hands resting calmly on her lap, a wicked smile hiding behind a familiar black veil.

Ritsuka was still practically catatonic at this point before Mordred slowly turned her head, her heart thundering in her ears, and her eyes grew wide with a hurricane of emotions swirling through her as she who was sitting on the bed.

"How I have missed you… Tell me, won't you give your beloved mother a kiss?"

Caster of Britain, the daughter of Uther Pendragon, the inheritor of Britain's Mystery, and the half-sister to her father Artoria Pendragon had been summoned to Chaldea.

Morgan le Fay had returned.

/~/

In the defense of Mordred, she was not quite all there when she had reacted the way she did. Hearing herself referred to by that word, the taunting smile, and the familiar way she had spoken had triggered the Saber enough that she had let go of her Master, summoned Clarent and was seconds away from cleaving the Caster in two.

Ritsuka however recovered and said, "By my Command Seal, Mordred, you will not harm Morgan le Fay in any way directly, indirectly, or through inaction!"

The command had snapped the Saber out of the temporary blackout she had and Morgan casually used a finger to push aside the blade as it came inches within ending her to look up at Mordred with those familiar pale-green eyes.

"Now Mordred, is that any way to greet your mother? Or did you mean to engage in matricide as well as patricide?"

She gave a wounded sigh.

"To think, you give your everything to your offspring, feed them, clothe them, and give them the best that you can with what little you have… I must say my dear Ritsuka, you truly care about me to use two of your precious Command Seals?"

She sniffed and gave the perfect appearance of a woman deeply hurt. Ritsuka immediately ran over to embrace the Caster and held her hand soothingly, rubbing her cheek on it before speaking in a tender voice. It was a cold comfort to the Knight of Rebellion that she was so strong that she required two Command Seals just to reign in.

"There, there Caster… I know you did the best you could! You had lots of things against you and just reacted badly! I know you're not a bad person. You just need somebody who can bond with you and show you kindness and affection."

"Hababgh?!"

Despite being made of spiritrons, Mordred still had a functioning brain, but the frontal lobe had temporarily ceased functioning as she tried to voice her thoughts. She smacked herself in the head with the flat of her sword and she found her voice thanks to the percussive maintenance.

"M-Master, have you completely and utterly lost it!? Th-this WITCH has nothing good inside her at all! She's a cruel, heartless, manipulative BITCH! She-she undermined Father and helped bring about his downfall! She even raped him and made me a homunculus!"

"And?"

Ritsuka's response wasn't flat or even hostile, but honestly perplexed.

"Mordred, in Chaldea I have summoned all sorts of people from all walks of life. Conspiracy to destroy a kingdom and rape are hardly the worst things the Servants here have done or do on a daily basis here. Just think, we have Gilgamesh who made it a habit to screw brides on their wedding day just because he could."

The door popped open and the Golden Archer poked his head in.

"Fuhahahaha! I was the best wedding present ever and the cause of most divorces in Uruk!"

"We also have Atilla the Hun who is actually a girl, who might be an alien superweapon, and is also Santa Claus."

The door opened and Altera popped her head in.

"Inconsistent updates for stories are bad civilization!"

"We also have Jack the Ripper running around Chaldea and who to this day refuses to wearing any pants. Onore arceido...!"

The door opened and guess who appeared.

"We like the breeze we feel!"

"We also have Astolfo."

"No explanation required!", cheered the Rider, poking his head into the room as well before Mordred slammed the button to shut the door and kick all the witnesses out. She would have to terminate them all with extreme prejudice before this got out any further.

Naturally Ritsuka went on a longer tirade on the many types of Heroic Spirits who committed many famous and infamous deeds as well as their various problems. In short, Morgan le Fay was not anywhere near the top for the worst Heroic Spirit. That and the fact that Ritsuka repeatedly insisted she was a "Six-Star Servant", whatever that meant, meant that her Master was going to be keeping her around.

There was nothing else she could do with that Command Seal prompting her obedience. But Mordred would never forgive her Master for this. As she started to storm out of her Master's room, the door opened and relief flooded Mordred as she saw her Father on the other side.

This was salvation! If anybody could help her in this insanity, it was surely Artoria!

"Father!", cried Mordred as she embraced Artoria with all her might, "Thank God you're here! Master's completely gone insane! She's summoned Mother of all people to Chaldea! You gotta help put an end to this, she used a Command Seal on me to stop me from-!"

"I know."

Whatever horror Mordred had felt from seeing her Mother summoned to Chaldea and swooned over by her Master, whom she trusted with her honor and life, paled in comparison to the reply that Artoria gave.

"You… you knew?", asked the other Saber in a hoarse voice as Artoria released herself from her hug and brushed past her.

"Of course. She IS mine own blood after all.", said the King of Knights as she looked over her shoulder at her son, "It is only natural that our Master would come to me first in this regard. My son, you and I have become quite close in these past months. But the fact remains… I am a single father with little experience raising an heir and thanks to our Master helping me see the light, I realized what was missing."

Dread filled Mordred more than ever before as she saw her Father approach her mother with no drawn blade or hostile intent at all. Ritsuka hopped off the bed to make room for Artoria and practically skipped over to the other Saber, before raising her right hand with a grin. That sick smile caused a sickening feeling to roil and twist through Mordred's stomach as if she swallowed live snakes. Because it became obvious to the Saber that her Master had indeed used two Command Seals.

"I used the first one for your sake and Artoria's sake.", explained Ritsuka with a sweet voice that was laced with madness. She giggled maniacally before continuing, "I knew that she wouldn't be happy either, but they say that the best way to raise a child is to have two parents! Two mommies, two daddies, or one of each is capable of raising a child to become a happy, healthy, and independent adult! So… I decided to help you get your family back! I helped your mom and dad get back together!"

"This is insane…! This… this has to be a fucking nightmare! This can't be real!"

Mordred began to back away, hoping to find Fran, to find Jekyll, somebody, ANYBODY who could stop this living hell before her. Her vision was turning black and she was having trouble breathing as she felt the world spin before her. But before she could flee, before she could do anything, she saw the blood-red seals on the back of her Master's hand activate in an ethereal glow.

"By my final Command Seal, I order you Mordred, be a good girl and listen to your mother and father!"

"Mordred… stay.", came the royal command of Artoria as she sat next to Morgan le Fay.

"NO! Father, you- you can't be part of this! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY! FRAN, JEKYLL, GAWAIN, MASH!"

Mordred felt her body freeze up and her mother's voice was next to speak, ordering her to turn and approach them. Despite mustering all her power and will, the Saber's body moved against her will until she was a few paces away from her Mother and Father.

"Such a good girl, Ritsuka. I will have to reward you well for this.", said the Caster.

"No problem Master!", replied Ritsuka as she rubbed the back of her head modestly, "I'm just glad that you decided to take the reins. Finally, I can focus on my gacha!"

"No! Nn-no! STOP! STOP THIS! I'LL KILL YOU! I SWEAR I'LL KILL EVERYBODY HERE! HUMANITY BE DAMNED I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU FOR THIS!"

"Now that's poor manners,", cooed Morgan as she traced a finger under Artoria's jaw and down her neck like a lovestruck maiden, "I'm afraid that if you can't control your mouth, you'll have to lose the mouth."

The Knight of Rebellion made to protest, but suddenly she felt as if her mouth was being stuffed with rags because her jaw became hard to move. Then it felt as if tape had been slapped over her mouth because she couldn't move it at all! Though her body and head wouldn't move, her eyes could see and in the standing mirror in the corner of her Master's room, she saw that skin had completely sealed her mouth shut.

"MMMM! MMMFLGHBHH!", came the muffled shouting and Mordred began to breathe heavily through her nose as her Mother removed her veil. For a moment in the midst of the terror before her, Mordred realized that this was the first time she had actually seen her Mother and Father side-by-side. Despite being half-siblings, she couldn't deny just how much alike they looked, but that just made the implications that much worse.

Mordred looked appealingly at her Father for help, her eyes brimming with hot tears that she felt immediately ashamed of. She hadn't cried since her father had rejected her. It was the last day anybody would ever see or know that she had shed tears, but this was different. Treachery was a part of her legend and now it was filling her core like nothing else she had ever felt.

Mother's grin was now truly cruel as she seemed to be inspired by an idea and she said to Artoria, "Now that I think about it… how about we show Mordred just how she was made?"

"MMMFFFHH?!"

"Oh, I gotta get my camera for this!", came Ritsuka's voice, "Mashu! Where's my camera?"

This was becoming too much and Mordred shut her eyes tightly to avoid the sight that was laid before her. It was her last defense, but it was all she could do. Even being able to turn into her spirit form had been denied. However, her mother was too smart for that.

"Mordred, open your eyes and watch."

Centimeter by centimeter, Mordred's were forced open and she saw her father sitting next to her mother with the same stoic expression, not blinking, not even twitching as Morgan turned her head to face her.

"Just watch! Maybe we'll give you a little brother or a little sister! Won't that just be a wonder dear Artoria?"

"Anything you say, dear.", replied Artoria tonelessly as she stared into her wife's eyes as they both puckered their lips and leaned in to begin to consummate their newfound relationships

"MMMMM! MMM! MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!"

/~/

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Hands were suddenly grabbing Mordred as she woke up at last. She tried fighting and pushing away at what was grabbing her, then the figure let her go before speaking.

"Mordred, it's okay! It's alright! It's me! It's Ritsuka!"

Mordred looked around to see was indeed in her Master's room, sleeping on the bed. A stuffed Mini-Cu Alter and Viy doll were sitting on the bookshelf and her Master was looking down on her worriedly except…

Mordred instantly leapt off the bed and donned her armor before having her sword drawn and pointed at the individual standing in front of her. It wasn't an orange-haired girl, but a black-haired boy with blue eyes dressed in the Chaldea uniform meant for male masters.

He was standing there with his hands in front of him defensively and he once again said, "Whoa, whoa! It's me, it's Ritsuka! I was just looking to pull an April Fools joke on you! I was standing outside your door to prank you, when I heard you screaming, so I came to make sure you were okay."

"Prove it! Prove you're my Master!", breathed Mordred heavily, still reeling from the nightmare she had and wondering whether or not she was still dreaming.

"Well…", Ritsuka thought for a moment and then at the renewed glare of the Heroic Spirit spoke rapidly, "I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru, I was born in Japan, I like giant robots, the anime magical girl genre, my first Servant was Mash Kyrielight, and people say I have a gacha addiction, which is only kinda true!"

Mordred looked long and hard at the black-haired youth before Ritsuka added quickly, "So you know how I've always said I was a poor mage? That's true, except I can only do one thing really; Genderswap! I used to do it when I was a kid and liked to pretend it was a magical girl transformation. Here, watch!"

Ritsuka waved his hands with a flourish and struck a pose before he declared, "White Moon Princess Phantasmoon! TRANSFORM!"

Then he spun around and in a flash of lights, multi-colored stars, and crescent moon sparkles, the black-haired boy was gone and in his place was the familiar orange-haired Ritsuka she knew. The girl was wearing her normal Chaldea uniform, except now there was a yellow crescent moon hairpin on her head.

"Here I go!", she said in a cutesy voice before waving an imaginary magical stick around like a baton, "Magic Circuit Fullcount! Marble Phantasm!"

She pointed the imaginary stick at Mordred and the knight momentarily stepped back at just how convincing Ritsuka was. Of course, her Master couldn't actually do any sort of magecraft without the assistance of Mystic Codes, so all that happened was her Master standing on one foot with the other slightly raised in the dramatic magical girl pose she had in mind.

Ritsuka stood in place with the cheesy smile still on her face, but her face was quickly reddening in embarrassment as she and Mordred stared at each other. The tension that hung in the air was thicker than fog and neither could move an inch.

"Heh… Hehheheheh. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

It was so absurd that Mordred could not help but suddenly laugh long and harder than she ever remembered before her Master soon began to join her in the laughter. The pair laughed and laughed until they were almost unable to stand.

"Wuh- what the hell Master!? You seriously did that when you were a kid? Hahahahaha!"

"Cut me a break! My family could barely do any magecraft of any kind and that was the best I could do!"

Eventually the pair calmed down enough for them to sit on the bed side by side. They couldn't help but snicker and laugh at the sheer absurdity of it all.

"Goddammit, if this was your idea of an April Fool's joke Master then I guess you didn't do too bad.", Mordred said as she dismissed her armor in favor of wearing her white tube top and jean shorts.

"Well it wasn't really planned, but I guess it just happened to turn out this way.", replied Chaldea's Last Master. But then after a few moments of silence and looking at Mordred, she spoke a little more quietly, "So… do you wanna talk about it?"

"About what?", Mordred frowned.

"Well… you obviously had a really bad dream. Mordred, I've seen you fight Phantasmal Beasts, monsters, other Servants, and you even fought head on with Goetia at the Temple of Time. I didn't think there was anything that could possibly scare you. Even when we fought Goddess Rhongomyniad you didn't back down."

"It's none of your business. You don't need to know.", was the stubborn answer Mordred gave, looking away from her Master. But of course, Ritsuka wasn't one to give up so easily and persisted in trying.

"Come on, you saw a secret that only Mash knew. You are my knight after all. You entrusted me with your sword, your honor, and your life. I would never betray any of those."

Mordred took a deep breath and sighed as she recalled how she had made that vow on bended knee. Ritsuka Fujimaru truly had earned her loyalty through their many battles together and the hardships they faced. Mordred knew she was not easy to deal with and didn't care what most people thought, but her Master had been patient with her, scolded her if she had to, but she never once wavered in having the Saber's back even when things were at their worst.

"Dammit Master… why do you make it so hard to just brush ya off? Fine, you win dammit. But if you say anything to anybody, I'll bust your teeth in!"

Ritsuka nodded and smiled in perfect understanding before she gave Mordred her undivided attention.

"I dreamed about you- not in that way! Quit smiling dammit!'

"I'm sure I don't know what you mean, but keep going!"

"Grrr… anyway, I dreamt about you summoning… my Mother. Morgan le Fay."

The smile that had formed on Ritsuka's face died instantly and she now looked more concerned, but not with pity. She knew Mordred despised being pitied and it was one of the easier ways to infuriate the knight.

"My old lady had been summoned, but she had already gotten herself integrated with you. You even started calling her Master and falling for her charms and mind games. She even made you use your Command Seals to make her and Father become…official."

Ritsuka looked shocked at that and before she could say she would never do that, Mordred cut her off.

"I know! I know you would never do that. You've never once used your Command Seals on any of your Servants, even when it was the smarter thing to do. Anyway…", she sighed and looked down as she finished, "Because of the dream version of you, Mother had power over me again, and she and Father were about to… to…"

"That's enough. You don't have to tell me the rest.", said Ritsuka not unkindly, but as always she spoke truthfully, "I know that your Mother is a sore subject for you. The Psuedo-Singularities are almost through, but if your Mother were to come to Chaldea and honestly lend her power to help fix things, I still wouldn't turn her away."

Mordred looked up in shock and started to argue, but Ritsuka gently stopped her and said, "I have a responsibility bigger than all that. But I can promise you I would never let her hurt you again if Morgan le Faye came to Chaldea. Boudica and Nero have a troubled history as well as Penthiselia and uh, him, but we are still able to keep going despite all that."

"Ughhh…", sighed Mordred, but she didn't want to concede the point too readily. Ritsuka smiled again at her and said, "Besides, what are the odds we'd ever see Morgan le Fay come to Chaldea? If we didn't see her at this point and she hasn't decided to come help restore humanity, then it's doubtful we'll ever see her."

Ritsuka let those words hang as Mordred thought about them. Her Master really was something else if she could help her through that. Plus, she knew she wasn't alone and though she wouldn't admit it aloud, she knew that in addition to Ritsuka, Fran, Jekyll, the other Round Table Knights, and especially her Father would be there for her if Morgan ever showed her face in Chaldea.

Finally, she broke out a smile of her own and pat her Master on the back, pulling her strength slightly to not leave a bruise, but still nearly knocking the wind out of the other girl.

"Guess you're right Master! Alright then! Enough of this moping crap. You said today was April Fool's day, right? Where you're supposed to prank people and stuff? Come on and get up! I've got some ideas and I think I wanna start with Tristan."

Ritsuka coughed and got her breath back before she too stood up and followed Mordred, listening in fascination at how she had actually met him when she was still a kid. Apparently she had caught him during a secret rendezvous with Iseult while he was still technically exiled.

The rest of the day was given over to some friendly April Fools pranks and by the end of the day, Mordred had gotten over it.

Morgan ever lending her power to her Master?

Like that's ever gonna happen!

Immortal: Well, I hope you enjoyed this brief April Fools story! I won't lie, I am due to get some surgery for my eyes in a short time from this chapter posting, but I will continue it as soon as I am able to get well enough. Please don't give up on this, and I thank you all truly from the bottom of my heart for reading, favoriting, and following this story as well as leaving reviews.

Misaka Phenex- I see you're a cultured individual! Mordred x Fran huh... I personally ship Mordred x Ritsuka x Mash. Sword and Shield! But for this story, I'm not too certain to be honest of whether or not I will do romance or pairings. If it works out naturally, then I can see this happening.
