Darth krayt1: He's a Sith, not a Trooper. Cool as it would be, the Jedi Hunter armur from Force Unleashed 2 fits him as an Apprentice.

Disclaimer: I do not own anything but the OC.

Jayden was kneeled before a hologram of Count Dooku, giving his report on the situation regarding the Huttlet and the Jedi escaping Jayden on the landing platform to another and taking a ship out of the system.

Dooku hummed as he stroked his bearded chin. "They will be taking the Huttlet to Tatooine, where I will be waiting. Apprentice, come to Tatooine, you will handle Skywalker's Padawan."

Jayden nodded. "Yes, my Master."

The hologram disappeared and Jayden stood, turning to go find his ship and get off this planet.

After managing to escape the space battle above Teth and finally arriving at Tatooine, Anakin crashed the ship they were on due to it's very unstable look, plus fuel ran out which caused the crash into the sand but luckily Anakin, Ahsoka, R2 and the Huttlet were fine.

Now they were walking across the sands of Tatooine, the suns beginning to set.

As they walked, Anakin had a frown on his face at being back on the planet that used to be his home, but it wasn't his home anymore. This planet held too many painful memories, especially the death of his mother and what Anakin did to the Tusken Raiders after she died in his arms. Anyone else in his position would've felt the ssame, but then again... Jedi didn't form attachments to their parents because they were taken to the temple at a very young age so attachments didn't happen. All because attachments could lead to the Dark Side if the attachment is used against them.

It's the same reason the Jedi didn't want him trained, he was too old, too emotional and attached to his mother. Qui-Gon was the only one who wanted Anakin to become a Jedi and announced he'd take him on as his Apprentice. If things had been different that day on Naboo, then Qui-Gon would've been his Master. Don't get him wrong, Anakin's grateful for Obi-Wan's teachings, but Obi-Wan didn't want to train him at first, he did it because he gave Qui-Gon his word that he would train Anakin.

Suddenly Anakin paused as he sensed a disturbance in the Force. Behind him, Ahsoka paused and looked around. "We're not alone out here." She said.

"It's the Dark Side of the Force." Anakin said grimly as he scanned the sandy hills for any sign of the source of the Dark Side. "Whatever it is, it's coming for the Hutt. Time to split up."

"We'll face it together, Master." Ahsoka said, refusing to leave. She had been scared once after the sight of the mystery Sith slaughtering those Clones earlier. She didn't want to feel that way again. She was being trained by Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen one, she had to show she can do well as his Padawan and not be scared of the Sith and the Dark Side.

But Anakin shook his head. "Not this time, Snips. I have a far more important mission for you."

"More important than keeping you alive?" Ahsoka asked skeptically, raising an eyebrow.

"Ahsoka, I need you to trust me on this one." Anakin said, putting a hand on his Padawan's shoulder.

Later that night…

Anakin was almost grateful that he could feel Dooku coming. It stopped his thoughts wandering too far. He sat meditating in the cold night air, a backpack strapped to his shoulders, staring at the three moons without blinking so that they became a blur and quieted his mind. His breathing had slowed; his pulse rate had dropped dramatically. In that state, and he reached it rarely these days, things spoke to him… and he didn't always want to hear them.

There were layers in his awareness. At the top, he searched for Ahsoka moving through the dunes toward Jabba's palace with Rotta and, he hoped, R2-D2. They should have been almost there by now. He couldn't detect his astromech, however hard he tried, only the disturbances to living organisms that the droid sometimes created. Ahsoka had faded, too, drowned out by the Force impressions in the deeper layers, where Anakin felt Dooku. Precise, targeted, controlled, the Count was like a firaxa shark slicing through an ocean.

In the depths beneath that, though, there was Tatooine.

Anakin came out of his concentration when he heard the sound of a speeder and looked to see Dooku himself arriving on a speeder, the Sith Lord getting off as Anakin took his Lightsaber and activated it, the blue blade illuminating Anakin's face and the sandy ground.

"Surrender the Huttlet or die, Skywalker." Dooku demanded before he shot out a beam of Force lightning from his hand, but Anakin blocked it with his Lightsaber. He had been hit with Dooku's Force lightning before, and it stings like no other.

Dooku took out his curved Lightsaber and activated it, the red blade humming. The two then charged at one another and began to duel.

Anakin blocked, parried and dodged Dooku's attacks. The last time he faced Dooku, he had been reckless and charged at Dooku without clear focus which allowed Dooku to get the upperhand. Dooku was the one who cut Anakin's right arm off on Geonosis, something Anakin had not forgotten.

The two duelled until they got into a Saber lock.

"Your training has come a long way, boy." Dooku said tauntingly.

Anakin narrowed his eyes before he pushed back and the two continued the duel, red and blue illuminating the sand around them from their Lightsabers. Dooku threw out his hand and sent Force lightning crackling across the sand toward Anakin, lighting up the night. Anakin evaded the bolts and channeled the lightning to his lightsaber.

"You're making progress." Dooku remarked.

"My powers have doubled since the last time we met." Anakin responded. The Count lunged forward with his lightsaber, forcing Anakin back, then somersaulted over him.

Dooku's eyes lit with realization. "Ah, now I remember. This was your home planet, wasn't it? I sense your strong feelings here. Feelings of pain, loss, anger. You have hate, you have anger... but you don't use them."

Anakin whipped his hand up almost without thinking and sent a Force whirlwind of sand sweeping from the dunes. It spun toward Dooku, enveloping him and almost knocking him to the ground. The Count twirled his Lightsaber around before he sent the whirlwind of sand back at Anakin, knocking the Jedi off his feet and sending his Lightsaber rolling. Dooku lunged for the kill but Anakin used the Force to call his Lightsaber to him, activated it, and blocked Dooku's Lightsaber in time.

Anakin moved their Lightsabers to hit the sand and began to roll out the way when Dooku's Lightsaber slashed the backpack on Anakin's back.

The sudden movement of the rocks packed tightly inside made Anakin pause to get his balance. "Oh dear," Dooku said mildly, "I seem to have cut Rotta in half."

"You wish." Anakin held out his lightsaber to fend off Dooku while he released the straps and let the backpack fall to the sand. Rocks spilled out. Dooku raised his eyebrows. "The Huttlet is with my Padawan, safely at Jabba's palace."

Dooku sneered. "I should've expected such treachery from a Jedi. However, I wouldn't assure your Padawan has reached safety yet. My Apprentice will be able to handle her."

"Ventress?" Anakin asked in relative surprise. She must've gotten here after sensing they had left Teth.

Dooku smirked. "No, my new Apprentice. Khan."

Anakin's eyes widened. The Sith they faced on Teth, the one that slaughtered those Clones and came after Rotta.

"Rest assured, my Apprentice is skilled to handle your insignificant little Padawan." Dooku sneered.

"She's more skilful than you think." Anakin glared at him.

Dooku's eyes narrowed. "You deceive yourself!"

The two lunged at each other and resumed their duel.

Jabba's palace was less a shimmering mirage and more of a real stone structure now, towering tall above the desert and casting a bold silhouette across the dunes. There was a path to follow now instead of tromping across the dunes and Ahsoka followed it gratefully. With the Huttlet strapped to her back using a pair of makeshift bindings, Anakin's plan had worked and she'd evaded the Separatists, which allowed her to approach Jabba's castle unhindered. Rounding around rock outcrops and small cliffsides, the Togruta could feel victory within her grasp. So close… so close to delivering Rotta and succeeding, in spite of all the Separatists had thrown at them

'Take that.' She thought with a grin.

Suddenly, R2 let out an alarmed squeal behind her at the same time her Force senses bristled. Rotta wailed, as if able to sense they danger they were in too, and Ahsoka whirled to face the danger. Her saber hilt flew into her grip, emerald blade igniting with a brilliant flash as a whirlwind of sand came at her which knocked Ahsoka off her feet but she managed to fall to a knee without hurting Rotta.

She looked up and her eyes widened when she saw the Sith from Teth standing there, Lightsaber activating as he stared at her before he slowly began to walk in a circle and Ahsoka found herself doing the same, the two with their gazes on each other as they circled before they came to a stop.

The Sith stared at her for a moment before he ran and leaped, Lightsaber raised for the kill but Ahsoka blocked, grunting as she tried to push back against her opponent's strength.

"A-Artoo!" She called out. Rotta had to get to Jabba no matter what, maybe he could do the job while she held this thing off for as long as she could.

The droid misinterpreted her intentions and, instead, rolled up behind the Sith with an electro-prod extending from his chassis. He gave the Sith a quick zap, but that only angered him and he used the Force to send R2 flying and rolling away.

"Artoo!" Ahsoka cried in dismay, forced to duck and roll as the Sith nearly slashed her in half with his lightsaber. Ahsoka backed away, the Sith twirling his crossguard saber before he pointed it at her.

"Surrender the Huttlet." He said.

Ahsoka's eyes narrowed. "I'll never give him to you!"

"We shall see." was the Sith's simple response before he shot his free hand out and fired Force Lightning from his fingertips, Ahsoka having to block it with her lightsaber but she wuickly went on the defensive as the Sith attack, their lightsabers clashing, red and green once again illuminating the area around them and their faces. Ahsoka stared into the expresionless visor of the Sith's mask, it looked familiar.

Ahsoka kicked the Sith in the chest and sent him sliding back with Force push. He managed to stay on his feet, stabbing his Lightsaber into the sand as he slid back before coming to a stop.

"Who are you?" Ahsoka demanded, wanting to know this Sith's name.

The Sith stood up straight. "My name. Is. Khan." He said darkly.

Ahsoka narrowed her eyes. At least she had a name now. She lunged and Khan blocked her strikes easily before he went on the defensive for a few seconds then began to go on the offensive, forcing Ahsoka back as he swung, slashed, and sliced, one heavy attack knocking Ahsoka to her feet and Khan raised his Lightsaber for the kill but Ahsoka managed to block it, grunting as she felt Khan press down.

"You are delaying the inevitable, girl." Khan said. "The Huttlet's death is inevitable."

"Not while I have a say in it!" Ahsoka growled before she Force pushed Khan onto his back and tried slicing him but Khan rolled out the way and parried her next attack before he kneed her in the stomach then reached for the Huttlet.

Ahsoka shoved him back and nearly slashed his chest but he jumped back and narrowed his eyes behind his mask before he rolled his shoulders and got into a Lightsaber stance, as did Ahsoka. They lunged, their Lightsabers clashing again, both parrying and blocking. Khan was getting more on the offensive, causing Ahsoka to go defensive as she was being backed up.

Ahsoka twirled around to avoid a stab attempt but Khan managed to cut the straps of the backpack holding Rotta, who fell onto the sand with a squeal. "Stinky!" She cried in alarm, realizing her precious prize was now in grave danger. Khan took advantage of her state to send her flying back with a Force push.

"All too easy." He said before he began approaching the Huttlet, Lightsaber clenched tightly in his hand.

The Huttlet wailed, flailing his stubby arms, scared out of his mind.

Ahsoka heard his cries and instantly jerked her head towards him, reaching out with the Force as she felt Rotta's fear and sensed Khan's killer intentions, recognizing the immediate danger the Huttlet was in across the span of half a second.

Her reaction followed in even less time, her maternal instincts kicking in and driving her beyond anything pain or daze could hinder.

"No… No!" She screamed, grabbing her Lightsaber and charging at Khan with a glare. Khan sensed her emotions and turned around just as she leaped at him with a roar and she swung her Lightsaber right at his mask, getting a pained yell from him as they fell to the ground.

Ahsoka saw something roll next to her, it was Khan's mask with a Lightsaber slash on the visor. She looked back to see Khan unmoving, alive but knocked out. Ahsoka took a breather, grateful that she had this chance. She stood and approached the downed Sith, who was maskless and she got close enough that she could see his face.

He… didn't look how she expected him to.

She expected some disfigured creature in a mask, she wasn't expecting a normal, young human face. A boy's face. A boy who had to be a year older than her. His face was chiseled and lean, not broad or rounded like his helmet, with defined cheekbones meeting a sharp jawline.

Ahsoka's gaze lingered, studying the face of this teenaged human curiously. Her focus was only broken by a cry from Rotta, the Huttlet still writhing on the desert ground. "W-What…? Oh, sorry Stinky." She apologized, shaking her head and getting back to reality. "Let's get you home."

The threat had passed, now to finish things and return Rotta to where he belonged…

Later, outside Jabba's Palace…

"Khan...? Jayden? Come on now, Apprentice. Get up." Jayden heard his Master's voice and groaned as he opened his eyes, sitting up and feeling his head after taking a Lightsaber to the mask and then his head hitting the sound hard. "It appears Skywalker's Padawan got the best of you."

"She won't do so again." Jayden vowed as he took his mask when offered by Dooku and stood. "I am sorry I failed you, Master."

Dooku placed a hand on his young Apprentice's shoulder. "You're aware of the saying about battles and wars, are you not, my boy? You can lose one and yet win the other?" Jayden nodded. "Then allow the Jedi this victory. It makes little difference to the overall course of the war. It stretches their forces more thinly. It makes them overconfident. This war had just begun, my young Apprentice. There will be more victories for us to come. Now, let us leave this wretched world."

Jayden nodded and followed his Master. Jayden's mind went back to the Togruta he faced and his fist clenched. He will not lose to her again. She didn't know if, but she just became his most desired kill out of all Jedi.

And when they meet again, he will kill her...

And thus ends the Clone Wars 2008 movie arc.
