Three days had gone by. Each day Lena would insist was the best day of her life. Every day they were at the beach. Sometimes they went into the water. Most of the time it was just Kara in the water. It was far too cold for Lena, even with Kara's body heat. On their second day here, Lena went and bought a camera. Lena loved taking photos of Kara while she was having fun. It was sometimes hard to believe this was the girl of steel.

Even though three days had passed and each of them had been perfect, Lena still hadn't had her perfect moment. She had it all planned out but they hadn't got that far yet. That was all going to change. Tonight.

Everything was planned. They had just gotten back from yet another beach trip. Their usual ritual was to come back to the hotel room, shower and change for their evening activities.

Tonight, they were going to spend time on the pier, playing the many, many games they had to offer. Kara was like a little kid when it came to carnival games. Alex had taken it upon herself to warn Lena that Kara would spend hours on one game until she won. As long as they made it to the Ferris Wheel on time, Lena didn't care.

Lena had bribed several people to keep the Ferris Wheel running after midnight. They, of course, had been reluctant. But with enough offered money they agreed. They also agreed to let Lena and Kara stay on the ride as long as they wanted. Everything was going to be perfect.

"Lena, hurry up," Kara yelled.

Lena dropped the make-up brush she was holding. She checked the time. She hadn't realized how much time she had been trying to do her make up.

"I'm almost done," Lena promised, not bothering to raise her voice. She quickly added the finishing touches and cleaned up her things.

"Wow," Kara gasped. "You look beautiful Lena."

Every night, since that first night, Kara would compliment Lena. It wasn't anything new. But there was something about Kara right now that made it different. Like something changed, and Lena wasn't aware.

"Thanks," Lena said blushing.

"I'll be quick," Kara promised before super speeding to the bathroom.

Lena took a deep breath. She waited until the water was running before stepping onto the balcony with her phone. She dialed the now familiar number and waited.

"Lena?" Alex questioned. "What's going on? Is Kara okay?"

"Kara's fine," Lena quickly assured her. "She's in the shower."

"What's going on?" Now that Alex knew Kara was okay, she was more willing to listen.

"I'm telling her, tonight," Lena told her.

"You are," Alex exclaimed. Lena moved the phone from her ear. "That's great! How do you plan on doing it?"

Lena glanced inside of the hotel room. She wasn't sure if the shower was still going, or if Kara was listening in on their conversation. "The Ferris Wheel," Lena answered. She didn't want to give more information out of fear of Kara hearing.

"God, it's like you live in one of the rom coms," Alex said.

Lena rolled her eyes. They both knew Alex was happy that Lena was making this extra special. Kara deserved romance and Lena was going to give it to her.

"I'm scared," Lena admitted. It had been a long time since she had confessed to a weakness like this.

"Don't be," Alex said. Lena sighed. If only it were that easy. "Look, I was scared when I asked out Sam. Mainly because I blurted it out and I didn't know how Sam would react. But Kara, you know Kara. It'll work out. Have faith."

"You're right," Lena said. Of course, Alex was right. "Thank you, Alex."

"Go get your girl Lena," Alex said.

They said goodbye and hung up the phone. Lena took a deep breath before heading back inside the room. Kara stepped out of the bathroom just as Lena came back into the room. "Everything okay?" Kara asked concerned.

"Everything is fine. I was just checking on things at home," Lena lied. Guilt ate away at her but she pushed it down. There would be no more reason to lie to Kara after tonight.

"Good," Kara said with a smile. "Are you ready?"

"More than ready," Lena said. She grabbed her purse and they walked down to the pier.

Dinner wasn't in a fancy restaurant tonight. Tonight, they ate at the many food stands along the pier. They stood in the center of the food court, eyes darting back and forth at the many food stands. Kara couldn't make up her mind on what she wanted. Lena already settled on fish tacos but she patiently waited for Kara to decide.

"Kara, darling," Lena said getting the excited Kryptonians attention. "We can stop at more than one stand."

Kara's eyes lit up and she bounced in her spot. "I want everything," Kara exclaimed happily. Now it became a problem on where to go first.

Lena grabbed her arm. "Come with me darling," Lena said leading Kara to the taco stand. While Kara decided what she wanted Lena would get her own food. She figured once they approached the stand Kara would end up ordering something.

Their fingers laced together as they walked over to the taco stand. "What can I get you?" the man in the stand asked.

"Two fish tacos and…" she looked to Kara. "Do you want anything here?"

"Two chicken, two pork, two carne asada and two fish tacos," Kara requested.

Lena turned to the vendor. He was too busy staring at Kara to do anything. "Will that be a problem?" Lena asked raising an eyebrow at him.

"Not at all," the man said. Lena quickly paid the bill, not even noticing the total that was given to her. "It's be a few minutes."

The two women stepped to the side so other people could order. While they waited Kara stared at the other booths. "Have you ever been to a carnival before?" Kara asked Lena.

"Once," Lena answered. "My school hosted a carnival. My mother thought it was a waste of time and I never went to another one. You?"

"Midvale does a carnival every year," Kara said. "The first one I went to… it was not long after I came here. I loved it but I couldn't handle the noise. Eliza took me home but Alex stayed and won me a penguin."

"The penguin that sits on your bed?"

Kara nodded. "She told me if I ever got scared, I should squeeze it."

Lena wrapped her arms around Kara. "I can't imagine you being afraid of anything."

"I was afraid of the dark for a while," Kara said. "Eliza got me a nightlight which helped. You know about my claustrophobia. That never went away. I'm afraid of being alone," Kara admitted in a whisper.

Lena wrapped her arms around Kara. "You will never be alone," Lena swore. "I'll always be here for you." She laid her head on Kara's shoulder. "Tell me a secret."

Kara glanced at Lena. "Did you know Clark was afraid of heights for the longest time?"

Lena's eyes widened in surprise. "Clark Kent, afraid of heights?" Lena laughed. She couldn't wait to tease him about that. "How is that possible?"

Kara looked around to make sure no one was listening to them. "When I came to Earth, I could fly right away but Clark couldn't. It took him years to learn that. I think it was his fear, keeping him grounded."

"We should talk about this more later," Lena said looking around. This wasn't the best place to discuss things. Kara nodded just as their tacos were finished.

They grabbed their plates and found an empty table. "These are so good," Kara said shoving half a carne asada taco into her mouth.

"Glad you like it," Lena said taking a bite out of her own taco. Kara was right. It was good. "What games do you want to start with?"

Kara shrugged. "Anything is fine."

Lena frowned. "Are you okay Kara? Do you want to go back to the room?"

"I'm fine," Kara told her. "Honestly, right now, I'm more interested in trying all the food." She grinned at Lena. Lena sighed. Of course, Kara was more focused on the food. "But it really doesn't matter what games we do. We both know I'll win."

Lena's eyes darkened. "You're on Danvers."

"Bring it on Luthor," Kara said with a grin. "You can't beat my alien reflexes."

Lena snorted. "Says the girl that can trip over air."

Kara pouted but didn't comment. She continued eating her tacos and found the carne asada tacos were her favorite. She was tempted to get a couple more but there was still so much food to try. "Seriously Lena, I don't care what games we play, as long as we're together."

Lena couldn't stop the grin as she finished up her food. Once again she was probably reading more into Kara's words than she should, but she simply couldn't help it. The words made her incredibly happy, even if Kara didn't mean it.

Once the tacos were gone Lena and Kara wandered around the many booths. They didn't play anything at first. Both were content to walk around and see what there was. They did make a stop and get nachos.

After touring all the games Lena turned to Kara. "What do you think?"

"Balloon pop," Kara decided.

They turned around and walked back to the balloon pop booth. Lena handed over money so the two of them could play. Kara went first.

She was handed a dozen darts. The goal was the pop as many balloons as possible. The more she popped, the better the prize. The first few throws she missed on purpose. Lena smirked and Kara rolled her eyes. She turned to face Lena and threw a dart. The balloon popped and Kara grinned. "You were saying?"

"Show off," Lena muttered.

Kara turned attention back to the balloons. She popped eight balloons which was enough to earn her a medium sized prize. Kara scanned the different stuffed animals while Lena had her turn. Kara thought long and hard about what she wanted. Finally, she selected the lamb to go with her penguin at home.

Lena managed to hit ten out of the twelve targets. She grinned at Kara and selected her own prize: a stuffed Supergirl. "Seriously?" Kara questioned.

"What?" Lena asked innocently.

Kara stared at the doll that was supposed to look like her. "That looks nothing like me," Kara hissed.

Lena hugged the doll. "I think it's cute," she said with a shrug. She glanced at Kara. "Do you want me to get rid of it?"

The superhero sighed. "No, you can keep it," she said. People all over the country had merchandise that featured her and Clark. She couldn't understand why Lena would want a fake doll of her when she had the real thing.

They continued wandering around and playing the various games. Kara didn't use her powers in order to win anymore. It wasn't fair to anyone if she cheated. Besides she had already messed with Lena and made her point.

In between games they would make trips back to the food stands. Kara was determined to try everything. Next on her list was funnel cake and cotton candy. The line was a bit longer than the last time but it didn't take long to get their food.

Lena grabbed Kara's hand that wasn't holding the cotton candy and pulled her toward the Ferris Wheel. "Come on," Lena said.

"Aren't you afraid of heights?" Kara asked confused.

Kara wasn't the first to think she was afraid of heights. "No," she said with the shake of her head. "I'm not afraid of heights. I'm afraid of flying. There is a difference." Kara stared at the Ferris Wheel. It kind of felt like flying. "Besides, I know you would never let me fall."

The line was pretty full when the two arrived. They patiently waited for the others to get loaded. When it came time for Lena and Kara, the attendant nodded at Lena and opened the seat for them.

"Why did he nod at you?" Kara asked curious. "Do you know him?"

"I may have bribed them to let us ride the Ferris Wheel as long as we want," Lena admitted with a blush.

The attendant shut the door to their seat and stepped away to start the ride. "You bribed them? Why?"

"I wanted to spend a little more time up here with you," Lena said. She attempted to sound nonchalant but judging by the look Kara was giving her she didn't believe it.

By the end of the first ride Lena was starting to get cold. She tried to hide it as she didn't want to ruin her big moment. But Kara noticed. Kara always noticed.

Kara took off her jacket and draped it around Lena's shoulders. "We can leave," Kara offered.

Lena shook her head. "No, I want to stay." She took a deep breath and turned to face Kara. "There is something I need to tell you, something I should have told you a long time ago." Lena paused. She didn't know how to say it. So, she did the only thing she could think of.

She kissed her.

Lena had pictured this moment dozens of times throughout the time she had known Kara. Nothing came close to the real thing. Kara's lips were frozen against her for a full second before Kara realized what was going on. Once Kara understood she threw her arms around Lena's neck and pulled her into her lap, her lips never leaving Lena's.

"I love you," Lena whispered when they finally pulled away from each other.
