Kara carried Lena bridal style out of the building before taking off. She launched herself into the air, ignoring the stares of the few people that happened to be around this late at night.

Kara touched down on Lena's balcony. Lena shifted thinking Kara was going to set her down but Kara carried her into the penthouse. She didn't set her down until they got to the bedroom.

"Kara," Lena called as Kara blurred around the room getting Lena some clothes and a glass of water. "Kara, Kara!" she shouted. Kara stopped, a pair of shorts in her hands. Lena recognized them as the shorts she had dressed Kara in.

Lena stood and walked over to Kara. She was exhausted but that didn't matter. What mattered was Kara. "What's wrong?"

Blue eyes met green. It took Lena a minute to comprehend what she was seeing in Kara's eyes.

Fear.

It was fear in her eyes.

"Cadmus was in your lab," Kara said slowly. "I knew they were targeting me. I'm an alien, after all. But now they're targeting you, and we just got together. I can't imagine what they will do—"

Lena pressed her finger to Kara's lips. "You're worrying too much," she said softly. "Even if Cadmus is targeting me for whatever reason, that doesn't change anything."

"It changes everything," Kara exclaimed. "Your brother—"

"Would try to kill me no matter what," Lena finished. "Besides, right now there is no proof Lex is part of Cadmus." Kara raised an eyebrow at her. "You're forgetting he is still in prison."

Kara's phone buzzed before Lena could get the words out. She stared at the text from Alex for three whole minutes before handing the phone to Lena.

Kara, there was a breakout at Iron Heights. Lex escaped along with several other prisoners. We are still waiting on names. Keep an eye on Lena. We don't know what Lex is planning on going or what he will do.

Lena dropped the phone on her bed. "Will we ever catch a break?" she muttered to herself.

She glanced at the frozen Kryptonian. Kara hadn't moved since handing the phone over She appeared to be in shock or just plain scared. "Kara," Lena said softly. "Kara, it's all going to be alright love." Kara didn't react to her words. "Kara love, come back to me." Slowly Lena was able to coax Kara back. "Kara, this doesn't change anything."

Lena regretted her words as soon as they left her mouth. "Of course it does," Kara exclaimed. "Lex is free Lena. You're not safe. I should… I need to…" Kara slumped to the ground.

Lena dropped down beside her and pulled the Kryptonian into her arms. "I'm going to be okay," Lena promised. "Everything is going to be okay."

"You don't know that," Kara mumbled against Lena's chest.

"No, I don't," Lena agreed. "But I will do everything in my power to stay with you. I will never leave you if I have a choice."

"I should go," Karta said standing up.

"Stay with me," Lena requested. Kara glanced at Lena. "Stay here with me, please."

Kara nodded. "Okay," she agreed. She pulled Lena off the ground. "I'll just… go change." She grabbed the pajamas and disappeared into the bathroom.

Lena changed as quickly as she could. She had no idea how long Kara would be in the bathroom and she didn't want to risk Kara walking in on her.

Lena settled into bed with the latest issue of Forbes magazine when Kara came in. "I talked to Alex. In the morning she's going to stay with you while I pick up our stuff. I… I don't want you to be alone, just in case. I need to call Kal too. We'll have to work together."

"Kara come here." Lena held out her hand. Kara took the offered hand and Lena pulled her onto the bed. Kara curled up beside her.

"I like this," Kara muttered sleepily.

"Like what love?" Lena asked, gently stroking Kara's hair.

"You and me, together at night," Kara whispered. She was half asleep and Lena wasn't sure if Kara knew what she was saying. "It's almost like we live together."

Lena chuckled. "We could live together," Lena told her. "If that's something you want."

"I want to stay with you," Kara mumbled. Not even thirty seconds later Lena could hear Kara's soft snores. Kara burrowed herself further into Lena's side, so she was halfway on top of Lena.

Lena clicked on the TV and turned it way down so it was just background noise. She was exhausted before when they were at L-Corp. Now she didn't want to go to sleep. It wasn't that she wasn't tired because she was. But there was more to it. She was scared though she would never admit it. Lex was dangerous, evil. She couldn't predict what he would do and that's why she was scared.

Lena reached over and grabbed her phone. She had one missed call from Sam. She sent Sam a quick text. I'm home and I'm fine.

Lena! Thank God! Alex told me Lex had escaped. How are you doing?

I'm fine. Kara is here with me and she told me about Lex.

Kara… But Alex said she told Supergirl about Lex, not Kara… OMG. Kara is Supergirl!

"Shit," Lena muttered. She banged her head on her headboard. She should not be texting when she was so tired.

Sam, you can't say anything to anyone.

Relax Lena. I really should have known. Alex kept talking about Supergirl like she had known her, her whole life. Everything makes so much sense now.

I'm glad you know. It makes things easier. Alex is going to kill me.

I'll take care of Alex. Take care of your girl Lena. I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Goodnight Sam.

Lena put her phone back on the nightstand next to the remote. She left the TV on for now. She rubbed Kara's back while watching a random episode of Friends.

Lena rolled over and stretched out in her bed. It took her longer than she wanted to admit, to realize the bed shouldn't be empty. "Kara," Lena muttered. She looked around but there was no sign of the Kryptonian anywhere.

She got out of bed, grabbed her robe and made her way to the kitchen. She smelled fresh coffee and knew someone had to be here. When she got to the kitchen, she found Alex cooking bacon and eggs and sipping on her cup of coffee. "Morning," she greeted. She handed a fresh cup to Lena.

"Morning." She sipped the coffee and sighed happily. "Where's Kara?"

"She went to check out of the hotel and get your things," Alex explained. She put some eggs and bacon on each plate before handing the plate to Lena.

"Did she tell you about last night?" Lena asked.

Alex shrugged. "She's worried about you and she's not the only one."

"I'm fine Alex," Lena promised. "Lex wanting to kill me is nothing new."

Alex shook her head. "You shouldn't be used to that." She took advantage of the silence and ate her eggs. "You never told me what happened."

"I took her to the top of the Ferris Wheel and told her I love her," Lena said.

Alex stared at her. "How did she react?"

"At first she was silent," Lena recalled. "But she told me she loved me too and she couldn't figure out why she never realized it before."

"Well damn," Alex said. "I'm happy for you both. You deserve to be happy. You both do."

"There's something I need to tell you." Alex dropped her fork. "I may have told Sam about Kara. It was an accident," she added quickly.

Alex shook her head. "I'm not mad. I was going to talk to Kara bout telling her. How did she react?"

"Honestly? She was relieved. She was worried about how close you and Supergirl are. She sounded a little jealous."

Alex smacked her forehead. "I didn't think of that. I'm so used to being around Kara whether its as Kara Danvers or Supergirl. Man, Hank is going to kill me."

"No, he's going to kill me," Lena said with a sigh. "I'm the traitorous Luthor after all."

"You're not," Alex disagreed. "Look, Hank doesn't see things the way we do. When I look at you, I don't see a Luthor, I see someone that loves my sister and would do anything for her. Hank sees you as a Luthor. But it won't last forever. He trusts you a lot more after what you did for Kara when she was hurt. Clark thought of you the same way until he saw how much you love her."

"It's okay Alex. I'm used to people not trusting me," Lena said sadly. "Someday he will see the truth but if he doesn't then there's not much, I can do about it."

"Help us with Cadmus," Alex requested. "Hank can't deny that we need your help. You know Lex better than anyone, even Clark. If he is part of Cadmus then we need you."

"You know me better than that," Lena told her. "I will help you with Cadmus. But you already knew that."

"You love Kara," Alex said with a shrug. "I expected nothing less. Kara mentioned something to me, about how you were trying to create shield for DEO Agents, to protect them against alien attacks."

"Right," Lena said. It was true. It was a project she had started. "I haven't thought about it in a while. I made the shields for Clark and Kara and got distracted."

"Distracted by my sister," Alex laughed. "I just wanted to say, I appreciate the effort, whether they work or not." Alex's phone rang. "It's Sam. Will you be okay for a few?"

"Yeah, go talk to your girlfriend," Lena said waving her away.

While Alex was on the phone with Sam, Lena took some time to clean up the kitchen. The leftover bacon was put on a plate in the fridge for Kara.

Lena leaned against the counter. Her eyes locked on the now empty coffee cup. She blinked and the coffee cup was full again. She looked around the room and saw Clark, sitting on the couch reading a copy of CatCo magazine.

"What are you doing here?" Lena asked.

"I heard about Lex," he said slowly. "How are you doing?"

Lena shrugged. "I'm fine, contemplating my impending doom."

"Kara and I will keep you safe," he promised.

Lena shook her head. She poured herself more coffee and poured another cup which she offered to Clark. "You need to focus on Metropolis," she told him. "I'll be fine here."

"El Mayarah," Clark muttered so low Lena almost missed it. "Stronger together," he translated, although it was unnecessary. Lena knew what it meant. "You're family and family protects each other. Even if it's against your family." He hesitated. "If it comes down to it, can you do what is necessary?"

"I will kill him before I let him hurt Kara," Lena said fiercely.

Clark's eyes widened. That wasn't what he meant. He meant locking Lex back up. "Lena…"

"Don't say it Clark," Lena said. "I know you and Kara don't kill but I'm a Luthor, not a Super, and I will kill to protect her."

Clark looked down. "You shouldn't have to," he said. "We'll find Lex and Cadmus."

"And what? Imprison Lex again? We all know how well that went," Lena said sarcastically. "You won't change my mind."

"He's your brother Lena," Clark reminded her. "No matter how much you hate him, he is your brother. Would you really murder your own brother?"

"He stopped being my brother the day he was arrested," Lena said coldly. "I won't let him hurt Kara. I've seen what he's done to you. I can't bare that to happen to her."

Clark stepped toward her and wrapped his arms around her. Lena cried into his suit. Alex walked back into the penthouse. "What did I miss?" Alex asked. Lena pulled away from Clark.

"Nothing," Lena said wiping away the tears. "Just feeling a little overwhelmed."

Alex looked back and forth between the two but didn't say anything. Lena would talk to her when ready. Kara came through the window holding two suitcases. Winn was in the process of driving Lena's car back with the rest of their stuff. It wasn't hard to convince Winn to drive a sports car.

"Kal-El, what did you do?" Kara exclaimed, horrified at the sight of Lena crying.

Clark held up his hands. "I didn't do it," he protested.

Kara dropped the suitcases and went to Lena's side. Lena threw her arms around Kara. "He didn't do anything," Lena told her. "He was comforting me."

"What's wrong?" Kara asked concerned.

"It's nothing," Lena said quickly. Kara didn't believe her. She sighed. "It just hit me. Lex out of prison."

"Lex won't get to you," Kara swore. She kissed Lena. "I'll protect you, just like you protect me."

Clark turned to the window. "I should go. If you need anything Lena…"

"I know where to find you," Lena finished.

Clark stepped toward her. He lifted the arm where the bracelet he gave her was resting. "I was going to say call for me." He dropped her arm and flew out the window.

"I'm going to Sam's," Alex announced. She walked over and kissed Kara's forehead. "Call me if you need anything."

Alex disappeared through the front door leaving Kara and Lena alone. Lena fingered the bracelet Clark had given her, made of Kara's pod. She was careful not to press the button that would alert the two Kryptonians to danger. Her eyes caught sight of the Kryptonian phrase Kara had engraved on the inside.

"Will you tell me what this says?" Lena asked.

Kara blushed. "It's something I remember hearing on Krypton. It translates to 'one heart, one love, one destiny'. I didn't understand it before but now I think I do."

Lena cupped her cheek and leaned forward to kiss her. "I love you Kara."

Kara pulled her close. "I love you too." She touched Lena's face, still red from crying.

"I told Sam about you by accident," Lena whispered.

Kara shrugged. "It's okay. She would find out sooner or later."

"You're not mad?" Lena asked.

"Why would I be? Alex trusts her. You trust her. We probably would have told her soon since she's dating Alex," Kara replied. Lena sighed in relief. She was worried Kara would be angry. Not that Kara really got angry. "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine Kara," Lena said. Kara raised an eyebrow at her. "Okay, I'm a little scared. I know how Lex is. I'm afraid of what he plans to do to you."

Kara sighed. "Don't worry about me," she said. "I will protect you. And we have Clark."

"Can you take me back to my lab?" Lena asked. "I need to get to work on those shields for the DEO."

"Are you sure you want to go back to your lab?" Kara questioned. Lena nodded. Kara sighed. "Yes, I'll take you back." She eyed Lena's outfit. "You may want to change first."

Lena looked down and blushed. She had forgotten she was still wearing pajamas.

"There is something I ant to do. For Alex and for the others." Lena's eyes lit up. "Actually I may already have something."

Lena walked off to her bedroom with Kara right behind her. "What do you have?" Kara asked confused.

"One of Lex's projects was a suit. He called it the Lexosuit." Lena rolled her eyes at the stupid name. "It was Lex's way of standing up to Superman. I'm betting I could modify it to work against other aliens." Lena ripped off her shirt, not caring that Kara was there. "Do you think Alex would be willing to test it? I can make adjustments for her."

"I'm sure she will." Kara refused to look at her until she had a shirt on. "Knowing Alex she'll have way too much fun with it."

"Okay done." Kara turned just as Lena finished buttoning her pants. Lena was dressed far more casually today than normal. Se wore black slacks and a simple blue tank top. She wasn't even wearing heals as it was easier to work without them.

"Wow, you look…" Kara started.

"Awful I know," Lena finished.

"No, you look beautiful Lena," Kara corrected. "You always look beautiful." Lena blushed. She would never get used to the compliments, thanks to her childhood. Kara stepped toward Lena and opened her arms. "May I?"

Lena allowed herself to be lifted into Kara's arms. "You never have to ask darling."

Kara carried Lena to the balcony. She looked around at the damage her crash landing had one several weeks ago. The damage had yet to be repaired, as Lena never got around to calling the contractor.

"Don't worry about it Kara. I haven't had time to call a contractor. I'll have Jess do it later," Lena said as an afterthought.

Kara frowned. That was the day that changed everything for her and for Lena. She couldn't believe the amount of damage she had done. Kara shook away the thoughts and launched herself off the balcony.

The day security guard was standing at the entrance when they arrived. There was also another man that Kara recognized as a DEO agent. "Hank sent a DEO agent to watch over L-Corp," Kara whispered in her ear.

Kara sat Lena on the ground. They walked toward the building. "Ms. Luthor," the security guard greeted.

"Aaron," Lena greeted with a nod.

The DEO agent didn't say anything. He simply nodded as they walked inside the building.

L-Corp was business as usual this morning. It was hard to believe there was a break in, in the middle of the night. Kara figured no one knew about the break in.

Kara followed Lena. Her eyes darted around the building, looking for any sign of a threat toward Lena. Whoever was targeting Lena now was long gone.

The lab looked better. The DEO cleaned up the broken glass. The rest of the things were put on the table for Lena to sort through.

Lena booted up her laptop and started sorting through the mess. Kara stood awkwardly at the door, unsure what to do. "Come sit," Lena said gesturing to the office chair. Kara sat down and lightly tapped her fingers to her thigh. "Kara, relax. Nothing is going to happen."

"You don't know that," Kara disagreed.

"No, I don't," Lena agreed. "But I have to believe that everything will be okay because I can't deal with the alternative." She clicked through her emails. There was nothing for her right now. Sam was taking care of everything. When she took over as CEO again, she was going to give Sam a large raise.

"Hey Kara," Lena called. "What was that project you wanted me to look up?"

"Project Exodus, why?"

Lena paled as she scanned through the many pages. "I found it and it's not good. We need the DEO here, now."
