A thought after death: Hmm, well I am thinking of having him attemot to master the 7 forms of Lightsaber combat like Sidious has, so he'll know which one to use when he faces certain Jedi.
OechsnerC: Thanks.
Nikolias Dragneel: Hmm, a good idea.
Guest: Isn't Windu's Lightsaber form meant to be one that brings a Jedi close to the Dark Side?
DevilHunter: Alright, thanks.
Guest: Wait, isn't Revan's stance where he twirls the saber and holds it with both hands beside his head, like in that cutscene from KOYOR when he was captured by the Jedi.
Lupus: He will fight with two sabers eventually like Raven, but I doubt he'll use a double-bladed, unless he connects his crossguard lightsaber with Revan's red Lightsaber.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I only own the OC Jayden Shan.
Serenno
Jayden sat in his room at Dooku's palace on Serenno. It's been months since he and Ventress did that rescue mission to free Gunray, and since then Jayden has decided to go back into training to master his Lightsaber skills as well as his Force abilities. Dooku was surprised at this but allowed it, but did tell him that when he was ready, he will be named a Darth if he can prove himself worthy of the title.
Since then, Jayden has mastered all seven Lightsaber forms. Form I: Shii-Cho, which is the basic technique for Jedi and Sith alike.
Form II: Makashi, which is Dooku's style and Jayden managed to master it as well, much better than Ventress if you ask him.
Form III: Soresu, which is Obi-Wan Kenobi's style along with Jedi Master Luminara Unduli. Jayden has not forgotten his encounter with the Jedi Master months prior.
Form IV: Ataru, which is known as the Aggression Form. An acrobatic combat style, Ataru could be used to defend against incoming projectiles but was best suited for open spaces and attacking. This was this Lightsaber form Jedi grandmaster Yoda used, as well as Anakin Skywalker.
Form V: Also known by its two primary disciplines of Shien and Djem So. The Djem So variant of Form V was based on defending with solid blocks and parries, then immediately countering with strong counterattacks and ripostes, and was geared toward and created for lightsaber-to-lightsaber combat, although it was nonetheless reasonably useful for blaster deflection. The Shien variant of Form V allowed the utilization of an unconventional reverse grip, which Ahsoka Tano was known to prefer and use during battles.
Form VI: Niman. n battle, Niman more closely resembled Form III or Form V than the more aggressive forms. Its approach was carefully balanced but tended to favor defense. This reflected its origins and explained its popularity among Jedi whose primary interests lied outside the martial pursuits. However, Niman was as distinctive as any other lightsaber form, and any Jedi or anyone thoroughly educated in the traditions of the Jedi, could recognize it immediately. With its extensive integration of Force powers, Niman was the least physical of the lightsaber forms, and in fact was quite unique among all martial arts traditions in the galaxy's history. For a Niman practitioner, the strength of will was at least as important as physical agility and power. A fighter using Form VI had to possess not only sufficient mastery of the Force to maneuver an opponent about the battlefield, but also the mental discipline to resist relying overly on physical strikes. The only one to have used this Form was the Sith Assassin Darth Maul with his double-bladed Lightsaber.
The name of Maul made Jayden's hate, anger and rage stir and rise. He had a reason to hate that man.
And finally, there was Form VII: Known by its two primary disciplines of Juyo and Vaapad; and also known as The Ferocity Form. It was considered the most aggressive and unpredictable form. Both Mace Windu and Depa Billaba were the only known masters of the Vaapad variant in the Jedi Order that hadn't fallen to the Dark Side of the Force.
Jayden made sure to study closely to master these seven Forms, he especially paid attention to the ones his ancestor, Revan, used back in his time, which were Form II, Form Vi, Form V and Form VII.
Suddenly Jayden's comlink beeped and he answered it. "Jayden, come to my office at once." His Master's stern voice said on the line.
"Yes, Master." Jayden said before getting up, using the Force to call his Lightsaber and mask to him and he clipped his Lightsaber to his belt but kept his mask off. It took ten minutes before he arrived at Dooku's office and entered, immediately dropping to a knee. "What is thy bidding, my Master?"
"Rise, my Apprentice." Dooku said and Jayden did so. "You have been trained well these past few months since taking a step back out of the war to focus on your training. I see you have mastered the Lightsaber forms as much as you can. I'm certain even Jedi Masters like Kenobi, Windu and Yoda will have trouble. But don't let it go to your head, my young Apprentice, Jedi are not to be underestimated."
"Yes, Master." Jayden said.
"As for why I have called you here, the Prime Minister of Mandalore, Almec, had been reaching out to us. You are familiar with Mandalorians, right?"
"Yes." Jayden said. "They are the very race the bounty hunter Jango Fett came from. It was also the Mandalorians of which my Ancestor, Revan, stole the mask of Mandalore from them. I doubt the Mandalorians would take too kindly to me if they learned of my heritage, especially this group known as Death Watch. My mask is based off Revan's himself, so they may make the connection easily."
"Perhaps, but that matters not. You are a future Dark Lord of the Sith. It is time for you to take your first step towards earning the title of Darth as many have before you." Dooku said, causing Jayden to straighten which made Dooku smile a bit before he continued. "Almec had been attempting to undermine the current Duchess of Mandalore to restore Mandalore's warrior heritage, instead of this pacifistic neutrality approach she seems to prefer. His efforts were recently thwarted when a group of cadets discovered his actions and had him arrested."
Jayden blinked at that. "Children? He was thwarted by... children?"
Dooku nodded. "Indeed. Almec has managed to reach out to me through his contacts and so I give you this mission: Go to Mandalore, track down these cadets... and kill them." Dooku handed him a datapad. "You will find all the information on these cadets you need on that."
Jayden read the datapad and hummed as he finished before putting the datapad down, a little hesitant.
Dooku sensed this. "There is no room for hesitance, my Apprentice. If you wish to prove yourself worthy of your heritage as Darth Revan's descendant, if you wish to prove yourself as a Darth and as my Apprentice, you will do this. Do what must be done, Jayden, do not hesitant. Show no mercy. Once finished, you will be one step closer to being named Darth."
Jayden looked at his Master and his eyes glowed with the sickly Sith yellow-red, showing the Dark Side within him.
"It shall be done, my Master."
Mandalore
Now, Jayden will admit he is hesitant to do this. Despite being trained in the Dark Side of the Force, trained to become a future Dark Lord of the Sith, killing children is a new assignment and he didn't know how he'll handle this mentally. But he refused to fail his Master, he refused to be a coward like Ventress. He will prove himself worthy to his Master, and perhaps prove his worth as a Sith to Darth Sidious himself.
He had used the Rogue Shadow's cloaking ability to enter Mandalore undetected before landing somewhere out of sight and where no one will stumble upon his ship. As he had flown there, he looked up Almec's situation and had learned from reports that not only did four cadets take him down, but they did so with the assistance of Ahsoka Tano.
Oh how he's missed her since their last encounter.
He had retrieved a list of the four cadets responsible for Almec's imprisonment: Amis, Lagos, Soniee and Korkie Kryze.
The Sith Apprentice had to shake his head at that last one. What a dumb name.
Moving past his personal bias, Jayden had used a communications system to relay an encoded message to each of the four. He couldn't quite remember the message, something about 'impressive work' and 'data on more Separatist activity on Mandalore', either way it was something so positively tempting that the four young adults would have no choice but to listen. He had left coordinates attached, ones that would lead the group to this very alley he was watching. And so, he had been for the past few hours, ever since he sent out the message.
Calmly waiting. Silently planning.
Soon enough, the foursome arrived one by one at the entrance to the alley. About time.
"Well, this is the place." Amis mused.
"See anyone, Lagos?" Soniee asked her fellow cadet.
"No, maybe we're early?" The blonde replied.
"The message said to meet here in four hours, if anything we're on time." The blonde-haired Korkie stated. "Let's have a look around, see if they left anything for us." He suggested. Agreeing with his suggestion, the group slowly moved deeper into the alley, carefully checking around the walls and various empty crates for anything out of the ordinary... that may or may not be a message.
Jayden moved to the edge of the roof and crouched, waiting for the right moment to strike. The young adults passed by underneath him, oblivious to the stalker above them. The Apprentice planned for them to enter the alley in more of a single-file formation, leaving at least one of them at the rear.
They would die first.
Taking stock of his soon-to-be victims, Jayden quickly identified the bald Amis at the rear of the group. Timing his attack, the Sith waited until the group had moved in far enough the Amis was right underneath him. Seeing his opportunity, he used the Force to start choking Amis.
he other three turned around in surprise at the sound of choking, an emotion which quickly turned to horror when they took stock of what is happening.
"Amis!" Soniee shouted in horror.
"What's happening?!" Korkie exclaimed.
Clenching his fist hard, Jayden crushed Amis' throat with the Force and the body soon dropped, the remaining three cadets looking at the body in horror. Jayden then jumped down in front of them, causing them to scream in surprise and back off as Jayden faced them.
"W-Who are you?" Lagos asked with fear.
Jayden remained silent as he stood there, staring at them. The darkness covered most of him, but they could see his mask and the hood over it. And then... Jayden activated his Lightsaber, the red crackling blade illuminating the darkness of the alleyway they were in.
Korkie gulped. "This was a trap."
"Korkie, what do we do?" A scared Soniee asked as they back away.
"We have to contact someone... police, my aunt, anybody!" He replied. "Lagos, if we hold him off, can you get some help?"
"Got it!" She affirmed.
"There is no escape." Jayden said as he took a single step forward, causing their fear to spike. He could sense it... and he enjoyed it.
"We'll see about that!" Korkie confidently responded as he charged forward and threw a quick punch, aimed at Jayden's chest, but Jayden caught his fist and clenched down hard enough to break the hand, causing Korkie to scream.
"Lagos, go!" Korkie shouted to the other cadet. She moved to obey just as Soniee moved in to try and grab hold of Jayden. But a swift kick to her gut instantly put her on the ground, wheezing in pain. Painfully twisting Korkie's arm, Jayden reared his Lightsaber back before he swung and cut off Korkie's entire arm, causing him to scream loudly as he fell to the ground, looking in horror at where his arm used to be.
Jayden tossed the arm aside before he used the Force to lift Lagos up and bring her closer, choking her at the same time. Jayden grabbed her by the throat then slammed her head against the wall hard, skull crunching between solid permacrete and mighty fist, shards of bone being driven into her brain.
If that didn't kill her, the blunt-force trauma certainly did.
Dropping the body, Jayden turned to the last two cadets. Soniee stood protectively in front of Korkie.
"R-Run Soniee!" Korkie begged her with panic, fear and terror in his voice. "Run! he'll kill you!"
"No! She was my friend!" Soniee shouted at Jayden with tears. "You... you monster!"
Blinded by her rage and not thinking logically or realistically, she charged at him with a yell of rage only for Jayden to swing his Lightsaber and slice her in half, not even pausing in his stride towards Korkie who he lifted with the Force and brought closer so the boy could look into the expressionless visor.
"W-What are you?" Korkie asked with terror.
Jayden raised his Lightsaber. "Death."
And he brought his Lightsaber down.
The next day, on Coruscant...
When Duchess Satine contacted Supreme Chancellor Palpatine with an urgent message, Obi-Wan Kenobi just so happened to be there. As much as the Jedi Master was delighted to see his old flame, Satine's tone told him all was not well. Having been in a meeting with the Chancellor at the time, Palpatine invited Obi-Wan to stick around, knowing his recent involvement during the attempts on Satine's life. The Duchess stood before the two via a hologram.
"I thank you for taking the time to speak with me Chancellor, for something dark has happened on Mandalore." She explained.
"Your earlier communication indicated as much." Palpatine replied, knowing that Satine's worried tone could only mean that something had occurred. Mandalore was proving to be quite controversial as of late.
"First Almec and his schemes... what is it now Duchess?" Obi-Wan asked.
"The four cadets who helped in uncovering Almec's plot have been murdered."
"Murdered?" Obi-Wan was astonished, as was Palpatine.
"And it was done... by a Lightsaber!" Satine disappeared from the holocom and was replaced with a photo of the alleyway. Prominent in the image was what remains of the cadets, clear signs of a Lightsaber used on them.
"Who could be responsible for such carnage?" Palpatine asked, very concerned. "Is there a Separatist presence on Mandalore?"
"Not that I'm aware of. And this certainly isn't the work of Death Watch either." Satine replied.
"Then it appears this is the work of Count Dooku, Ventress or Khan, but we haven't seen the latter in the field for quite some time." Obi-Wan grimly mused. "This is obviously in retaliation for imprisoning Almec."
"We thank you for your concern Duchess." Palpatine thanked her. "We will do what we can should you ask of us."
"That's very kind of you Chancellor. I must go now; my family is still in shock but I believe the grief will be setting in soon enough." Satine excused herself. "Oh, one more thing Master Jedi, I'm not quite sure how to tell Padawan Tano about this development. She was close with those four, even instructed them personally."
"Don't worry Satine, I'll find a way to... break it to her." Obi-Wan reassured her. The Duchess ended her communication, leaving Obi-Wan and Palpatine to their thoughts.
"This situation is most distressing." Palpatine mused aloud. "If the Separatists are not above slaughtering young ones, who knows what could be next."
"My thoughts exactly Chancellor." Obi-Wan agreed. "And, from what Ahsoka mentioned of Khan when she battled him on Tatooine, he'd have to be a year older than her. I dread to think he's the one that did this..."
And that's it for this chapter everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it. I would also like to thank DFM23 for allowing me to use this idea from his Discontinued, first version, of Rise of the Wraith. All credit goes to him.
Now, we've had a bit of a timeskip to Season 3. This chapter is after The Academy, in which Ahsoka helped four cadets out on Mandalore. In order to see if Jayden had what it takes to be a true Sith, to be granted the title of Darth, Dooku had Jayden go and kill the cadets.
Go pretty dark, didn't it?
And also, Jayden has managed to master all 7 forms of Lightsaber combat, but may use Form II, Form V, Form VI, and Form VII. It depends on who he faces I guess.
Now at this point, think of Jayden's voice actor and appearance as benedict Cumberbatch's Khan from 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness, good movie by the way.
