Chapter 1: training practice
Hugo ran though the grounds of the academy holding a small package as he made his way to the headmaster, master Eon's office. "Excuse me, oh pardon me, sorry its urgent." He said to any skylanders who walked passed him as he made sure not to bump into them.
He made it to the stairs of the academy, but then he was hit in the back of the head by something soft, causing him to fall to his knees and loose his glasses for a moment, after a short feel he found them, he cleaned them and put them on, that's when he say what hit him...a sheep. it baa at him, causing Hugo to scream and move away from it
"ahhh don't hurt me!" Hugo pleaded as he cowered in fear, earning a few odd looks from the skylanders that were near the stairs. The 'dangerous' sheep baa again and ate a bit of grass growing from the concrete
"heesh chill out Hugo" Said a voice from above, in a flash the sheep was picked up by a purple blur, a purple dragon flew a few feet over the mabu, holding the sheep in between his claws. "its a sheep, the most harmless creature in skylands." Spyro told him, giving him a amused but also worried look
"Harmless? you mean harmful!" Hugo argued, grabbing the dropped package and eying the sheep suspiciously. "Don't be fooled by their beady eyes or soft whool, they are master manipulators, who at any time can sneak up on-Ahhhhh!"
Hugo was scared yet again by another sheep, causing him co curl up in a ball again cowering. the culprit this time was a small orange gremlin with a long tongue holding it. The creature begun to cackle loudly at his successful scare
"Hahahaha that never gets old!" the gremlin, known as trigger happy said as he continued laughing, earning a glare from hugo and a chuckle from Spyro as he landed. Hugo walked off in a huff with the bag as the two skylanders continued laughing
"haha nice one TH!" Spyro said as he offered a high five, which Trigger Happy happily accepted. Next thing they knew they were both slapped on the back of the head hard. they turned around rubbing their heads to see who did it. Gill Grunt stood behind them, his arms crossed and having a unamused expression on his face
"Ow, what was that for Gill!" Spyro said annoyed. "You two know well that Hugo is terrified of sheep, and throwing them at his face isn't gonna help" Gill Grunt replied as he watched the sheep hop away
"Hesh what happened to your sense of humor?" TH asked as he walked over to his prized gold guns, giving them a spin on his fingers
"Don't worry its still there, I'm just reminding you about training for tomorrow." Gill Grunt smiled as he picked up his harpoon. He noticed Spyro sitting up on the tree, fidgeting with his claws. "And that includes you." He said
"Huh oh yeah" Spyro said as he hover down to the ground and grabbed a big rock, seeing this Trigger happy got into position, reading his guns. "I mean it's pretty obvious that one of us is definitely gonna be a skylander tomorrow" Spyro gave a cocky smile, earning a annoyed look from the both of them
"Just throw the darn rock, I wanna see it explode!" trigger happy said impatient. With that spyro threw the rock in the air as high as he could. "Here I go! ha ha!" With that he shoots rapid fire coins out of his guns, laughing like a lunatic as the rock was broken into smaller rocks as Spyro, Gill Grunt and some other skylanders watched a little uneasy. When the rock was completely destroyed Trigger happy blew off the smoke of one of his guns as he looked at his friends with a big smile. "So how was that?"
"Um...definitely better then the last time." Gill Grunt said a little uncomfortable, but earning a smile from Trigger Happy. Gill looked back at Spyro. "Just because your Eon's favourite doesn't automatically mean you'll be a skylander tomorrow, you gotta train hard like the rest, heck you might even be part of a team"
"Well if that happens I hope its you two, I even thought of a name 'team Spyro' " Spyro said as he leaned against the tree. "we ain't calling ourselves that." Gill Grunt said sternly. "Yeah your right, just being called Spyro would be better." Spyro replied with a smirk, next thing he knew he was hit in the face by a sheep curtesy of Trigger happy. "Thank you Trigger Happy." Gill Grunt said smirking at the dazed Spyro. "Anytime." Trigger happy smiled as they both fist bumped
Meanwhile on training island
Stealth Elf watched the course closely, the spinning blades, the saws buzzing, the obstacles that needed to be destroyed. After a few seconds of planning she started the timer and runs through the course. Using her blades and her ability to temporarily poof away for a moment to make dodging easier, she easily dodged the hazards as well as destroy the objects, making it to the end of the course.
She stopped the clock and looked. '15.5 seconds, a new record' she thought to herself, she was about to try again till she senced that something was behind her. Without a second thought she grabbed the person's arm and slammed them down hard. she was about to pull out her blades till she saw who it was, it was Eruptor. "Oh it's just you." She said simply as she let go off his arm
"Owww Elf you really gotta stop doing that." Eruptor said as he sat up, rubbing where she had grabbed him. "Sorry thought you were a enemy." Elf said as she sat with him. "It's fine, you training for tomorrow?" Eruptor asked, looking at the course
"Yes of course, if I don't I'll loose and won't be a skylander." She said. "I know that, is it ok if I join you?" Eruptor asked, earning a nod from her.
A bit later Elf watched Eruptor make his way though the course, using his fire are lava to burn the obstacles and making his way to the end, he looked back at Elf panting. "Hiw was that?"
Stealth Elf looked up from cleaning her blade. "Huh? Oh your talking to me, um." She looked at the timer. "20 seconds" She said as Eruptor sat with her
"Huh getting better, with this we will be skylanders for sure!" Eruptor smiled as he playfully punched her on the shoulder. Stealth elf looked at it confused for a moment but remembered, she punched him on the shoulder, but it was a strong punch and he fell to the ground, the wind almost being knocked out of him
"Sorry, still learning" Elf said, earning a small giggle from Eruptor as they continued training for the big day tomorrow
End of chapter 1
(I hope you all enjoyed this first chapter of Skylanders academy: resummoned, I've been wanting to do a rewrite of this show for a long time. I have a soft spot for this series but even I have to admit that the show has a lot of problems, specifically too much filler and certain characterisations. With this rewrite I wanna try and make the show more interesting with arcs and character development. Feel free to give criticism or any ideas for the rewrite
Also i wanna give a special shoutout to my friend jedninja30 (who you most likely know for his Dark Spyro story and other skylanders stories) for helping me with this rewrite and come up with ideas)
