To defend her family, she realizes her survival rests upon her ability to deceive, and escape, her captors and an old enemy thought to be long gone. To live means to be ready to die.

Author's Update

It has been quite a few years since I had last touched this story, and I had recently found it again in one of my many flash drives. After reading it, I really wanted to pick the story up. And I found I couldn't pick it up in the same manner I had originally written it, having been so long.

I haven't written all that much over the last few years, but I'm willing to give it a try.

To proceed with this particular story (which is the one I'm working on), I decided that I would begin again. I had lost all my notes on where I was going with this, so I get to start from scratch. And from scratch, this I have done. For starters, I redoing the entire story.

I'm shifting from 3rd Person to 1st, and it's currently being written in more journal-like entries. I'm largely tackling this again to get back the gear of writing. It's something I haven't done in a long time, and it is something I have missed.
