Ben 10: Alternate Alien
Chapter 1: Reunion
It was a normal day in good ole abnormal Bellwood.
People walked around like normal. The aliens of Undertown carried out business. The Plumbers continued to patrol Bellwood for any crimes involving alien activity.
And Benjamin Kirby Tennyson, aka; Ben 10, was drowning his sorrows at Mr. Smoothies.
In the last two years, a lot had changed. Not only had Mr. Smoothies gone back to its old look, but Ben, his cousin Gwen and her boyfriend/ Ben's best friend Kevin had changed their looks.
Ben once again wore his green jacket with the black stripe and 10 on it, but had white near the wrists of the sleeves. He still wore the black shirt with the green stripe on it underneath, but now had dark blue jeans. His hair was also back to how it once was, nice and combed.
He was now eighteen as well.
Another detail was the watch on his wrist. After discussing it with Azmuth a few months ago, Ben had had Azmuth's, "perfect", Omnitrix removed, and once again wore an upgraded version of the Ultimatrix, since it worked much better as a way to protect Earth. The Ultimate function, and the full-body holograms worked better. Ben was able to keep all of the aliens he had unlocked thus far.
Now, back to the character's outfits.
Gwen had begun dressing like her future self, had started going by Gwendolyn, and was now on her second year of college, and was studying to become a teacher once she graduated in two more years, along with finally managing to patch things up with Charmcaster.
Kevin now wore a black jacket with a striped shirt underneath, and dark grey jeans. He had even shaved those damn whiskers, and ditched that weird jewelry he had on. He now worked in his own mechanic business near where Gwendolyn went to college.
The two were the same age as Ben.
Now, with all of that exposition out of the way, let's back back to the story.
Currently, Ben was at Mr. Smoothies, drowning his sorrows.
Why, I hear you asking?
Well, Ben had only recently broken up with his girlfriend, Kai. They had tried dating, but had ultimately broken up mutually. The whole thing bothered Ben more than it should've, hence the twelve smoothies he had already drunken.
Ben had the day off, and was spending it at his favorite place.
He was just finishing his thirteenth smoothie, when he heard a car door thump. Ben looked up to see Rook coming towards him from the Proto-TRUK. Out of everyone around Ben, Rook looked pretty much the same all these years. Although he had changed as well. About two years ago, Rook had married Rayona, (finally), and after she had moved to Earth with him, the two of them had a child. Their son was currently two years old, and looked just like Rook as a kid. Rook kept an extra car-seat in the back of the TRUK at all times.
Rook, "ah, Ben, I had figured you would be here."
Ben, "it's my favorite place in Bellwood Rook! My happy place!"
Rook, "yes, well, I have come to pick you up for something. Magistor Tennyson said it was important that you come to Plumber headquarters."
Ben, "what could be so important to pull me away from this chocolate carrot smoothie?"
As Ben started sipping his smoothie, Rook spoke, "it involves an old incident with the Omnitrix? When your Nechrofriggian form gave birth?"
Ben immediately spit out his smoothie, "what?!"
Rook, "reports indicate that, in the form you call Big Chill, you gave birth to several infants of the species. I believe that Gwendolyn, Kevin and Ms. Yamamoto were witnesses there?"
NOW Ben remembered. Kevin had teased him about the whole thing for quite awhile afterwards. Even when he talked to Julie sometimes, (mostly on how her and Herve were doing, and trying to stay friends), she would sometimes make a joke about it.
Ben, "well, what does whatever Grandpa needs me for have to do with that incident?"
Rook, "on a recent mission, plumbers found a Nechrofriggian that had the appearance of a four year old child. They also seemed to have a slight trouble flying. The group who brought it back to base thinks that it might be one of your children from the incident."
Ben, "w-well, how can they be sure?"
Rook, "it kept repeating a word. Father. And, it seemed to be a female, when this species are asexual aliens. Also, Nechrofriggian infants usually do not hold familial attachments, but during the incident, only one of the babies tried to stay behind."
Ben, "and they think that this is the one that did?"
Rook, "yes. In any case, we need you at Plumber HQ, in order to verify this, as well as to help decide what to do with the child."
Ben, "alright, let's go."
Ben and Rook entered the TRUK, and flew off towards the base.
As they drove, Rook asked, "so, Ben, if the child is in fact yours, what will you do with it?"
Ben, "what do you mean?"
Rook, "if this child is yours, what would you have done with it?"
Ben, "... I know I'm young…. But I would take care of it. It's my kid. I know, I'm sometimes not the most responsible."
Rook, "you have gotten better in recent years."
Ben, "thanks bro. Anyway, I feel like, taking care of this kid, my daughter, would help me mature. Become a better person. Being a father could change my life for the better. I mean, I already have an apartment that the Plumbers help pay for, so I could take her in. What do you think I should do?"
Rook, "I do not believe I am at liberty to say what you should do Ben. It is your child, afterall. Just hope that the DNA test will be done by the time we get there."
Ben, "I hope so."
After several more minutes, the duo arrived at the shop above HQ, and made their way onto the elevator, and down into the large facility the Plumbers called home.
A bit away, Ben spotted a certain team of Plumbers in the cafeteria. Helens Wheels, Manny Armstrong, and Alan Albright. Sitting with them was Swift, dressed in Plumber armor like Helen and Manny were. A while ago, Swift has finally realized that she was wrong about Ben, and has undergone the training to be an official member of the Plumbers. She was now a member of Helen's own team of Plumbers.
Another person Ben noticed was up high, repairing a control panel was Mazuma! Yep, that robot chick. Her boss, that snot nosed little best Ben couldn't even remember the name of anymore, had just tossed her out when a few of her wires came loose and she stopped moving. Ben had had the Plumbers salvage her and reprogram her to work for the Plumbers. She now wore actual Plumber armor.
Ben and Rook passed many other plumbers before coming across Ben's grandfather, Max Tennyson, aka; Magistor Tennyson. An older man in a Hawaiian T-shirt, who now had a robotic left arm that looked human.
Ben, "hey, Grandpa!"
Max turned to his grandson, smiling at him, "Ben, good to see you. Did Rook tell you about the situation?"
Ben, "yeah. So, did you get any DNA tests back?"
Max, "yeah…. Ben, the girl's your daughter."
Only now did the situation hit Ben. He had a daughter. One that was four human years old, and needed her dad.
Ben, "I…. I have a daughter."
Max, "yeah. Being born from the Omnitrix tweaked her DNA a bit. That's why she actually has the human proportions of a girl, rather than being genderless like most of her species, and has made her age like a human."
Ben, "c-can I see her?"
Max, "of course. Take your time. Rook, please lead Ben to the child?"
Rook, "of course Magistor Tennyson."
Rook led Ben down the hall, passing a few more plumbers before stopping at the room the child was in.
Rook, "take all the time that you need Ben. I will be with Magistor Tennyson if you need me."
Ben, "thanks Rook."
Ben carefully opened the door, and went inside. And that's when he saw her. A small Nechrofriggian child. She was about the size of a four year old, and had a more feminine build to her, signifying her as female. She was currently fiddling with a rubix cube, when she lifted her head. Her eyes were a bright green.
She tilted her head at Ben and said, in a soft high pitched voice, "hello?"
Her voice wasn't icy like Big Chill's, but rather, soft and delicate, like a normal little girl's.
Ben carefully made his way to her, and kneeled down in front of her.
Ben, "I'm Ben. Ben Tennyson. Do you know who I am?"
The girl thought for a moment, before she asked, "father?"
Ben, "y-yeah. I'm your dad."
Her eyes widened for a moment before she lunged at Ben, wrapping her arms around him. Ben was caught off guard, but soon began to hug back when he noticed her whimpering.
Ben, "shh, it's okay. You're safe. Daddy's here."
The child, "sniff, I…. Go?"
Ben, "no baby. Never again. I'll never make you leave again."
The child snuggled into Ben's chest, enjoying the embrace of her father.
As Ben held her, he realized she would need a name. He doubted that she had one. So, for a minute, he tried thinking of names. And that's when he got it. Lumi. The name meant snow, and it just fit for an ice-based alien.
So, Ben said, "Lumi?"
The child looked up at him, confused.
Ben, "Lumi. It's your name. Unless, you want another one?"
She shook her head and said, "love it."
Ben smiles as he continued to hold his daughter, Lumi.
….
Several minutes later, Ben came out of the room, carrying a sleeping Lumi in his arms. He went down the hall, and met back up with Max and Rook.
Max, "so, Ben, what do you wanna do about her?"
Ben looked down at the sleeping bundle and said, "I wanna take Lumi home."
Rook, "Lumi?"
Ben, "it means snow. With her being an ice-based alien, I think it fits."
Max, "are you sure you can handle being a father, Ben?"
Ben, "... I don't know, but I'm going to try. Can she eat human food?"
Max, "we made sure to test her physiology. Yes, she eats human food. Although, she can eat metal as a source of nutrients."
Ben, "I'll make sure not to leave the silverware out then. Rook, you think you can give me a ride? Kevin is still fixing my car up after Rojo and her new gang left it all mangled."
Rook, "it is not a problem Ben. I'll meet you at the Proto-Truk."
As Rook walked away, Ben turned to his grandpa, "be honest with me grandpa. Do you think I'll make a good parent?"
Max, "we all ask ourselves that Ben. I asked myself that when your father and uncle were born. They asked me when you and Gwen were born. Heck, even Rook asked me when Rayona became pregnant. All I can say is, be there for Lumi. You protect her, and prepare her for the world. And you give her all the love you can muster."
Ben nodded, "I will grandpa. And thanks."
Max, "my pleasure. I'll give you some time off from work so you can get used to taking care of Lumi."
Ben, "thanks grandpa. See you later."
Ben walked off with Lumi, soon leaving the base and entering the TRUK. Luckily, Rook had switched it to its truck form, and had used the controls to add a backseat and had put a car-seat in.
As Ben strapped Lumi in, he said, "thanks Rook. This helps."
Rook, "it is no trouble Ben. After Rayona had her shower of babies, we had an extra car-seat. I figured that you would need it for when your car is working again."
Ben, "I will. Thanks again."
And so, Rook drove his partner to his apartment. It was two stories, and had enough room for a family of a moderate size. As Ben carried Lumi inside, saying goodbye to Rook, Ben was taking mental notes. If he remembered correctly, Lumi's birthday was November 7th, which was one month away. He'd have to call everyone he was close to about this. His parents, Grandpa Max, Gwen, Kevin, Rook, Rayona and their son, who was called Young One, like most children of Rook's species, and he wanted to invite some of his other friends. Hell, he thought of calling Tetrax about this. It has been forever since he'd last seen him. He had heard that EightEight and her brothers joined him as his crew.
But for now, Ben had to get Lumi to bed. It was getting a little late, and the girl needed her rest.
Luckily, Max and Rook had sent a small group to his house before he got home to install a bed for Lumi. Ben walked into his guest room and found Lumi's bed. He would need to turn it into a proper room for his daughter. A small dark blue children's bed, with blankets that would regulate Lumi's body temperature at night. Ben carefully tucked his daughter into the bed, getting her all snuggled in before he quietly left the room, and got to his house phone. He entered a certain number, and waited a few moments until it picked up.
Ben, "hey, Gwendolyn? It's Ben. I've uh, got some big news."
….
The next morning.
Ben was in bed, snoring lightly as his alarm went off. It was Eight O'clock.
Ben didn't wanna get up, but he had plans today. So, Ben hit the sleep button on the alarm, and got ready for the day. Ben dressed in his usual outfit, but with a shirt that looked like a reversal of his old shirt from when he was ten years old.
Ben went on to go get Lumi up.
Ben had made plans for today with Gwendolyn and Kevin. After telling them about Lumi, he wanted his cousin and best friend to meet her. So, they would meet Ben, Rook and Lumi at Mr. Smoothies. A little cliche, but Ben wanted to get his daughter into smoothies.
So, Ben went to go get his daughter up. They would be meeting Gwendolyn, Kevin and Rook in about an hour. Ben carefully opened the door to a sight he didn't expect to see. Lumi was trying to fly into the air. The key word being, "try."
She was flapping her wings into the air furiously, but kept falling on her butt. It seems she was having trouble flying. She'd need some teaching.
Ben walked in, "Lumi? Are you okay?"
Lumi turned to Ben, "I'm okay."
Ben, "what're you doing sweetie?"
Lumi, "try to fly. But, can't right now."
Ben, "how long have you been up?"
Lumi, "heard loud beeping. Woke me up."
Ben, "sorry sweety. It was my alarm. I made plans for us today to meet some friends."
Lumi, "friends?"
Ben, "yep. My cousin, and your second cousin, Gwendolyn. Her boyfriend, my best friend, Kevin. And my partner Rook, that cat man you met yesterday."
Lumi, "yay!"
Ben, "but, before we head out, we're gonna get you some breakfast, and, I wanna try to teach you how to fly a little."
Lumi, "me fly?"
Ben, "yeah. You'll be able to fly better with some lessons. Now, c'mon sweetie."
Lumi jumped into her father's arms, and the two left the room, getting ready for an eventful day.
After a short breakfast of bacon and eggs, (and a spoon that Lumi had eaten before Ben could explain that she can't eat the silverware), Ben and her had gone into the backyard to practice flying.
Ben stood in front of his daughter, activating his watch.
Ben, "alright Lumi, now, watch what I do."
Ben slammed on the watch, being engulfed in a bright green light, and in an instant, he was Big Chill.
"Big Chill!"
Lumi was a little frightened at first, but then recognized not only the hourglass symbol on Ben's chest, but also that the alien was her species, the alien that had birthed her and her siblings.
Big Chill, "now, watch my wings."
Ben carefully floated into the air, his wings flapping strong and fast. But the speed wasn't as fast and as furious as Lumi's had been.
Big Chill, "now, try to replicate how my wings move. Don't move them so fast, otherwise you won't be able to fly as well. It also exerts less energy."
Lumi started copying her father, slowly making her way into the air.
Big Chill, "good. Good. Just keep at it. It'll become like second nature. The older you get, you'll have to get used to the larger wings."
For the next couple of minutes, Ben taught his daughter the ins and outs of flying with larger wings. It was about ten minutes to nine when they heard Rook show up in the Proto-Truk. Ben transformed back to normal and scooped his daughter into his arms. Once she was situated into the back-seat, Ben got in the front seat with Rook, and the two went off to meet Kevin and Gwendolyn at Mr. Smoothies.
Once they got there, Ben had ordered a simple strawberry and raspberry smoothie for Lumi. Like Ben had hoped for, she had loved the concoction. Ben and Rook were talking about their latest scrape with Dr. Animo last week, when they heard the sound of a car stopping, and doors opening and closing.
Ben, Rook and Lumi turned to see Gwen and Kevin walking towards them.
They were dressed as described earlier.
Kevin, "wassup Tennyson?"
Ben, "Kevin! Gwendolyn!"
Ben ran forward. Kevin moved out of the way, but Gwendolyn embraced her cousin. Meanwhile, Kevin walked over to Rook and shook hands with him.
Ben led his cousin over to his daughter.
Ben, "Lumi, dear, this is your cousin Gwendolyn."
Gwendolyn, "you can call me Gwen, if you'd like?"
Lumi, "h-hello Gwen!"
Gwendolyn, "aw, she is just so cute!"
Kevin, "y'know, I'm surprised you came up with a good name like that? I was afraid you'd call her something like, Elsa, Little Chill, or something like that?"
Ben, "it's my daughter Kevin, not one of my aliens. And keep talking like that, and I'll change my mind about you being her Godfather."
Kevin, "yeah, we- wait what?"
Ben, "you're my best friend Kevin, of course you would be Lumi's godfather."
Kevin, "w-wow. Thanks Ben."
Ben, "it's a pleasure Kevin. Sorry Rook."
Rook, "it is no problem Ben. You have known Kevin longer, so I would not expect him of not getting the position of godfather."
Gwendolyn, "so, who's the godmother then?"
Ben, "try to think of the most obvious answer, dweeb."
Gwendolyn, "heh, we'll never outgrow those nicknames, will we?"
Ben, "nope. And congratulations godmother."
The crew began to enjoy themselves. Ben was happy to see his cousin and best friend again after a long while.
Ben, "so, how's it going with you and CharmCaster, er, Hope."
Gwendolyn, "it's been really good. After that weird as heck game-show, she seemed genuinely interested in becoming friends. It's been hard work, but I think that after being away from the Alpha Ruin for so long has helped her clear her mind."
Kevin, "yeah, that giant thing was making her go nuts."
Rook, "I noticed that as well. I had read that she was more level headed, although misguided, before the Alpha Ruin began to change how she acted to a more strange and erratic tone."
Ben, "right. Well, I'm getting another smoothie. Anyone want one?"
Rook, "I shall take another one."
Gwendolyn, "no thanks."
Kevin, "nah."
Lumi, "me! Me! Me!"
Ben, "you got it honey!"
But before Ben could get close to the front counter, they all heard a loud explosion!
They all looked to see a nearby shop being robbed by an overweight tetramand, and a galvanic mechamorph carrying bags of money.
Ben, "well, it looks like it's Hero Time!"
The group ran forward, while Lumi sat still, looking confused.
Ben quickly activated the Ultimatrix; slammed it down. He was engulfed in light, and transformed into a serpent-like purple alien with three eyes. One green, one blue, and one red.
"OverKill! Huh, haven't used zhis vone in forever!"
Gwendolyn's hands were engulfed in pink mana, "when did Ben go back to yelling his aliens names?"
Rook activated his Proto-Tool, "a few months ago, a child said he loved it when Ben used to do that."
Kevin absorbed the concrete all over his body, "feels like old times!"
Ben quickly turned invisible, got behind the tetramand and grabbed his arms tightly. As the tetramand tried to throw him off, Gwendolyn started blasting the mechamorph with mana as Rook began blasting him with his Proto-Tool. Kevin began whaling on the tetramand as Ben held him from behind. Very soon, the tetramand shook Ben off, and hit Kevin several feet away. Ben quickly switched into another alien.
He was engulfed in light, and was now a large muscular tetramand, "FourArms!"
But before the other tetramand could hit him, Ben activated the Ultimate function! The four small spikes popped out of the Ultimatrix on Ben's upper left arm, and he transformed once again. FourArms' skin became like copper, his eyes turned green, he grew more muscular, and grew spikes on his elbows, knuckles and knees.
"Ultimate FourArms!"
U FourArms ran at the tetramand, and was soon punching him around like a ragdoll. As this happened, the mechamorph had launched Gwen and Rook away. He had formed a blaster with his arm. But before he could start firing, he was suddenly engulfed in ice, freezing him like a statue!
Everyone double took at this.
Gwendolyn, "uh, what just happened?"
Kevin pointed behind the mechamorph, revealing Lumi standing there.
U FourArms, who had just knocked the tetramand out with a headlock, just dropped the alien and quickly reverted to FourArms, and then back to Ben.
Ben ran to his daughter.
Ben, "Lumi? Are you okay?"
Lumi, "I'm okay daddy."
Ben, "don't do something like that. I don't wanna see you get hurt."
Lumi, "wanna be a hero. Like you."
Gwendolyn couldn't help but go, "aww", at Lumi's statement.
Ben, "well…. maybe when you're older, you can be a hero like daddy. Okay?"
Lumi, "okay."
Rook, "I will call the Plumbers, and tell them about the robbery."
Ben, "and in the meantime, let's celebrate my daughter defeating one of the robbers!"
Lumi, "another smoothie?!"
Ben, "and some chilli fries!"
Gwendolyn, "oh, brother."
Kevin, "no, he's your cousin."
The joke was met with both groans and laughs as the start of this new journey had just begun….
….

The way the designs for this story work is, the design is consistent with Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. Characters from Omniverse would be in this style. Ben dresses similar to how he did in UA, and has the Ultimatrix again. Gwen is dressed like Gwen 10,000, and Kevin dresses in a much cleaner version of his Omniverse outfit.
Also, the title is pretty much what I did with my DBZ story. Since it's an alternate retelling of Ben's future, that's why I went with the title of Alternate Alien.
Lumi's birthday is November 7, since that's the date the episode was released in 2008.
Yetta, Turbine, Suemungosaur and Rojo would be in a gang who Ben has to defeat at times.
I didn't think Cicely, Myaxx, Eunice, Emily, Fritz and Mazuma fit as romance options, so they were not on the poll.
Eight Eight will be in Tetrax's crew and paired up with him.
And most importantly, Gwen, Sunny, Kai, Julie and Lucy will NOT be romance options. Three of them would be incest, (and the amount of Bwen fics is staggering as it is).
