Jun was holding the stone in one hand and with the other held the box. His face was scrunching in pain as he searched through the hundreds of scenarios for his Scourge. As he focused Ray came up to him "So, are you a superhero in your universe" "I'm a Shinobi". Ray's eyes widened "Really? I was with the Babylon Rogues. Did we ever work together?". Jun thought he heard that name before "The Clone Force? Uh, no. The whole Republic Army wiped out the Shinobi". Ray leaned back "Dude". He looked over to Miles but decided not to ask. He got up and walked away past Tails "Hey" "Could you run a diagnostic" "Uh, yeah". Ray quickly did something on the computer before fearfully looking at Tails and running away. The confused Tails kept working when Barby sat next to him "Hey, you okay" "Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Are you okay? She nodded; Tails glanced down "You don't deserve this. I've ruined your life. I've ruined it". Barby shook her head "No, no, no" she cupped his cheeks "Look at me. I'm here. Not going anywhere. We'll get through this, and we'll get through it together. Okay?". Tails smiled and nodded "Okay". They leaned their foreheads together "Thank you". Jun watched the two of them and he smirked.
Miles noticed him "You have someone?". Jun shook his head "No. There, uh… there was this girl but she's pretty far away now. You?". Miles grinned "Yeah, met her at my friend's wedding. She's called Cosmo". Jun narrowed his eyes in surprise "Cosmo. The Seedrian?" "Yeah, you got one?" "She's twenty years older than me". Miles was surprised "Oh. Maybe you should look elsewhere" the two laughed "Yeah, probably". Ray suddenly stood up "Tails" "Yeah" the three of them said. Ray struggled to remember who was going by what "Miles". Miles raised his hand "Me?", "Uh, no. Miles Prower" they all shrugged. Ray gave up "The computer". Tails ran to the computer "Oh, it's ready" "Yeah, me too" Miles said bringing over a canister. Jun put the stone down "I got something that might work" "Okay, so now, all we gotta do is lure these guys someplace, right? Try to cure them while they try to kill us and then we can send them home". Tails nodded and looked at Miles "You got enough energy, or do you need a boost?". Miles didn't understand "Energy?" "Yeah, so you can keep flying" "I… don't need energy. I just fly".
Ray looked between them "Wait, you mean, flying's natural for you?" "Yeah. It's not for you?" "No". Tails quickly shook his head "Anyway, we're getting side-tracked. This is where we'll do this, okay? It's isolated, so no one will get hurt". He showed a picture of the Freedom Fighter Statue with the new Chaos Emerald still being built "We draw them there with the box. It's the one thing they all want. Flight will take a while but should work". Ray's eyes lit up "No, we can portal there" "What?" "I'm magic now". Barby nodded "Yeah, he's right. He can". Miles and Jun both nodded "We saw" "He can". Ray looked proud of himself "I got Monkey Khan magic" "No way" "Yeah". Ray gulped "And I promise you, I won't turn into a villain and hunt down all the superheroes". Jun looked proud and patted him on the back. Tails didn't know how to take that "Oookay. Thank you. Um. Right, here goes nothing. What's that thing you always say, Barby?". He tried to think "Expect disappointment and-" "No, no, no. We're gonna kick some ass" "Okay". Miles crossed his arms "Cure. We're gonna cure some ass". Ray nodded "Cure that ass".
In Station Square the screens around the city showed Moritori "Ladies and gentlemen, the tip line has just received a call from none other than the fugitive known as the Prowl, fresh from his rampage in Emerald Hill. So, Miles Prower, what pernicious propaganda are you peddling?" "Just the truth" "Oh, sure". Footage of Tails from his phone camera appeared "Truth is that this is all my fault. I accidently brought those dangerous people here". Moritori grinned "Well, he admits it". Scaffolding was visible behind Tails "And if those people are watching just know that I did try to help you. I could have killed you". He showed the box "At any given moment, but I didn't. Cause my aunt taught me that everyone deserves a second chance. That's why I'm here" "And where is here exactly?". Tails turned revealing the statue "A place that represents second chances" "Good Gaia, folks. He's about to destroy another national landmark". Tails gulped "And world, if you're watching wish me luck. Your friendly neighbourhood hero could use some".
Tails was now waiting on the head of the statue "Okay, it could be any minute guys". Miles hid the different cures around the scaffolding "Done here". He flew up next to Jun who looked out at the city "You know, when I met Scourge he seemed like such a good guy before he… started killing people". Miles shrugged "Yeah, that's always a bad sign". Jun laughed "You know, this is so cool. I always wanted brothers". He narrowed his eyes "So, you, were born able to fly". Miles rolled his eyes "Are you teasing me?" "No. Of course not" "I had enough of that as a kid". Tails looked down and shook his head "No, no, no. he's not teasing you. It's just that kind of stuff is a bit rare here so naturally we're curious". Jun nodded "Yeah, I don't wanna pry it's just…" "No, I get it. It's just there's nothing to tell. It just happens. It's like breathing" "Whoa". Tails tried to think "Like, does everyone else just have their powers in your universe. It's not like something they have to get or create". He tried to think. He clicked his fingers "Like Amy Rose, does she have her hammer there?" "Uh, yeah, she's really strong. I was actually on the receiving end of that hammer once" he rubbed the back of his head. Tails cringed and rubbed his head as well "Really?" "Yeah, never point out how large a pregnant woman is".
Tails shrugged "I was kind of dead when mine was so no worries there" "I'm sorry, why does she have a hammer?" a confused Jun said. Miles was bewildered "I'm still on the fact that you died" "Yeah, it was crazy. Hey, what're some of craziest villains you guys fought?". Miles laughed "Seems you've met some. Uh, I helped beat this evil cat god once". Tails nodded "I fought a version of Infinite. Not a wizard like yours, ours wanted to wipe out half the universe". Jun sighed "Oh, I'm lame. My Infinite was just some guy with a sword. I haven't actually beaten many of my enemies. Just a mammoth in a suit". Miles crossed his arms "Can we rewind back to the I'm lame part? You are not lame". Jun half-heartedly nodded "Yeah, thanks. I appreciate that. I'm not saying I am-" "It's just self-talk. You are amazing. Just take it in for a minute. You are amazing. Amazing" "Yeah, I can take it. Thank you". Miles tilted his head "Say it" "I needed to hear that. Thank you". Tails started to sense something "Alright, guys, focus up". Jun stood up "I sense it". There was a loud booming sound before Infinite appeared in the sky "Greetings, Fox. One chance. Hand over the box". Tails slowly moved to the edge of the statue. Infinite laughed "I'm fine either way". Tails leaped over the edge, "Wrong choice!". Infinite chased after him but suddenly Miles leaped out "Hey, Fini! I missed you, man!" "YOU!". Infinite tried to blast him, but he managed to evade "There's no Sonic to help you here, Rat!". Tails flew to the top of the scaffolding "Barby, heads up!". He threw the box to Barby and Ray who were waiting at a portal "Got it. Close it!". Ray waved the staff, but nothing happened "Uh, Ray, it's not closing" "Yeah, I know. I never learned how to close them". Gold Scourge casually walked out of the ocean and started climbing the scaffolding. Miles landed on the head of the statue "Infinite. Infinite, Infinite. Can we just talk for a second?". Infinite laughed "I think I liked you better as a cat!". He fired but Miles jumped out of the way "I got his attention! Now what!".
Jun was being blocked by Gold Scourge "Uh, great. Gold Scourge is here. Guys?" "I need Infinite's cure!". Tails flew up "Yeah. I'm on it". Jun used the Force to pin Gold Scourge to the wall "I need the virus cure" "Uh, okay". Tails took off but he suddenly froze in mid-air. He was forced to turn around and came face to face with a giant Ixis "Return me to my planet, Miles Prower" "Ixis, we can help everyone" "That is not my concern". Tails fired his arm cannon at a crane making it collapse and fall onto Ixis freeing him. But he accidently hit Miles as well "Sorry". The scaffolding shook knocking Jun off as well. Infinite flew around the structure "I regret to say, Ixis, nobody's going home!". He laughed insanely as he fired in random directions. The three foxes retreated into the structure as Ixis' tornado surrounded them "What the hell are we doing out there!? I kept yelling for Infinite's cure" Miles said. Jun looked confused "I thought we were focusing on Gold Scourge first". Tails shook his head "Look, stop arguing. Look, we're clearly not very good at this". Jun nodded "I know, I know. I'm not used to fighting these kind of guys. My guys just had blasters" "I haven't worked with people who can keep up with me" Miles added. Tails took a breath "I've done both. I don't like to brag but I was in the Chaotix". Miles was amazed "The Chaotix. The greatest detectives in all of Mobius. That's great!". Tails narrowed his eyes "Detectives? What?" "Oh, my God. Are you a clone?" Jun asked. Tails shook his head "No, I'm not a clone. The Chaotix here are, uh, Mobius' Mightiest-" "How is this helping!?" "Okay, it doesn't matter. All we gotta do is focus up, trust each other and coordinate our attacks". Jun slowly nodded "Yes, okay. Let's pick one target" "And we take the off them board one at a time". Tails grinned "You go it. Okay, let's do this, ready?". They were about to go but Miles grabbed both their shoulders "Wait, wait, wait!". They looked at him, he smirked "I love you guys". The other two awkwardly nodded "Thank you" "Alright, let's do this". The three of them ran to the edge of the scaffolding, Miles and Tails both took off, Jun leaped off and used the platforms to keep up with them. The three of them screamed out in excitement as they all landed on the head of the statue. On the scaffolding opposite them Gold Scourge climbed up. Infinite appeared next to him and then Ixis formed behind them both.
