Once he's in bed,Dani enters the bedroom and asks if she can stay with him,he moves over to make room. His sister crawls into the bed and snuggles with him as she feels his arms wrap around her. They go to sleep. He felt relieved and happy he saved her life.
Sleep had come rather quickly given their long night. Dani loved when they slept side by side as it brought peace and calmness for both of them especially after the events of tonight they had been put through,they both deserved peacefulness and sleep that was calm.
Dani's mind had swirled around the events of tonight before she had fallen asleep but she blocked it out. She didn't want to worry her older brother anymore for tonight following what the night had been like.
Soon the young girl was having a nightmare of tonight. She began thrashing and screaming. Max woke up and asked her,"What's the matter Dani?" Dani couldn't answer,she felt like she couldn't breathe. She was trapped inside her nightmare.
Worried for his little sister,Max called her name desperately trying to wake her up so that he can calm her down. As his sister thrashed around,he grabbed her arms to keep her from hurting herself or him. He called,"Dani. Dani,it's me,it's Max. Everything is alright now." She woke up.
She had tears running down her face like a water fountain overflowing. He let go of her arms as she sat up. She fell forward and he embraced her,rubbing her back as she goes through a mini panic attack. He said,"Everything's okay now. We're safe. You're safe." Soon,the panic attack was over.
He said,"Take a deep breath." Dani takes a deep breath and she is calm. Max holds her as they go back to sleep this time for the little girl peacefully. Max holds her close to his chest,knowing everything was okay.
