Chapter 19

"…Cosplaying?" Dick echoed with a raised brow.

"Y-eah!" The redhead continued to convince until an aura of green was flying over them.

"Flash! Goddammit! You're still here? I thought I told you they'd be here any moment now. For a speedster you sure can be slow." Hal exclaimed from above. Wally didn't bother turning around, instead, he covered his face with his palm while Dick stared at Green Lantern.

"Damn you Hal… of all times…" Wally was shaking with frustration.

"You're …flash?" All eyes were on Dick again. The redhead looked defeated as he lowered his gaze with a sigh.

"…Young Flash…not the actual one…" Wally uttered stiffly. Well his secret was out in the open now. This was so not the time. Hal could sense the tension between the two but had no idea who Dick was, so he decided to leave first.

"Don't linger too long, I'm not calling you again." Green Lantern warned before flying off.

"What?" Dick just stood there, camera still in hand, puzzled out of his mind. Wally sped to him, placing his hands on his shoulders consolingly. That was the first time Dick witnessed Wally's powers in person—he was literally five feet away from him and then in a second, inches away from his face.

"Look Dick, now's not the time, but I promise I'll explain everything later. I'll reach out tonight if I don't have any tasks, okay?" The redhead reassured.

The ravenette barely managed a broken nod, before the other was speeding away. 'What on earth was going around him…?' Dick stood there dumbstruck for another minute. First Jason, then Bruce, then Tim…and now Wally? Wally West was a superhero?! In what universe? The entire time he considered Wally to be an absolute klutz and pushover.

Black Mask.

Jason studied the files in his hand. Black Mask had to be in charge of these suspicious sales. And they weren't any ordinary sales. He was making huge trades and sales of heroin and other illegal drugs. Jason decided to infiltrate and expose the group. He would go by his new identity so no one would recognize him.

That should be enough to prove Batman that he was completely capable on his own.

With Alfred's help, he even produced a brand new suit with it's own utility belt and holsters that he stylishly added to his thighs. The suit was armored and skin tight—as all the hero suits are—with a red bat logo across his chest on a dark grey background. At one glance the bat logo could be mistaken as Batman's except it was slightly modified where the wings were straighter and stiffer. It was perfect. And just for fun, Jason added a casual light brown jacket on top of the get-up.

Jason raided an abandoned warehouse where a bunch of mob bosses were having a meeting and possibly smuggling money and drugs. The teen showed up from the second floor and began open firing on the table. The men scattered shouting curses and finding cover.

"What the hell is going on?!" One of them cried.

"You're gonna listen to me."

"And who the fxck are you?!" He yelled again.

"Redhood." Jason spoke through his full face helmet. "Remember it." It took him a good minute to think of that one.

"Hah?!"

"Silence. Now listen up. I'm involving myself in this trade. From now on you report back to me—all the buyers, sales, everything and I'll let you have forty percent." Jason ordered.

"And why the heck would we listen to some nobody?!" Another one spoke up. Jason open fired again.

"Because. If you don't, then this nobody'll kill you. Simple." The teen threatened. He realized if he wanted to exceed overnight, then he would have to instill another type of fear in everyone. That was his only leverage. He couldn't sit back and work in the shadows like batman-moreover he didn't have the luxury of time, especially when he was only allowed out once per week. That still left Jason bitter.

The men duck and by the time they looked back up, Redhood was gone.

"…forty percent works for me." One of the mob bosses surrendered to the others.

Dick stared at the text he received from Wally:

W: Meet me outside your hotel. I'm standing across the street.

Dick took his hotel room key card and grabbed his jacket. Sean was already outside enjoying the night, so he let the room auto-lock behind him. The ravenette made it down the stairs and out the hotel doors to find his best friend standing outside across the street as he said. The redhead paced up to him, leaning forward for a causal hug which Dick was obliged to give in to.

"Hey, let's walk over to a bench. I'd lead you to a bar or something but I don't think we can have such a private conversation in the midst of so many ears haha." Wally casually spoke first, pointing somewhere down the streets.

"Yeah, sure…"

The redhead guided them a few blocks down to a public bench where he sat down and Dick sat right besides him. "So? Young Flash?" The ravenette blurted. "For how long?"

Wally let out a deep exhale. "Since high school."

Dick turned his whole head to look at him. "Are you serious? Before or after we met?"

"After."

"Wally. What the hell?"

"Look, I couldn't just tell you. It's top secret stuff anyway. I soon became part of the Young Justice League—even if you're my closest friend you're not involved in that universe. We have to keep our personal and heroic identities separate—I'm sorry."

"I can't believe it." Dick leaned forward on to his knees. "I get it but I seriously feel so betrayed right now. All this time I deemed you a complete nitwit but here you are an actual hero. I look like such an idiot."

"What? No! I wasn't tryna make you look like a fool!" Wally immediately retorted.

"I came to you crying about Jason when he was hiding his identity and the entire time you knew, you were hiding the same thing and didn't even consider coming clean that time. You already know I would never speak to anyone about it…"

"I know…I know, Dick. I trust you more than myself, but I …just couldn't. It pained me seeing you like that but...I couldn't bring myself to say anything. I was so deep into hiding it that I thought it was better off you never found out. Also…I didn't want to run the risk of ruining our friendship."

"I swear to God… ugh, I'm so damn conflicted. I don't want to forgive you for hiding it from me this entire time. But at the same time I understand that you hands were tied but still…" Dick raked his hair back with his fingers and a troubled expression.

"Dick, I'm sorry. Just don't think about it too much. You know now haha." Wally loosely chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood but to no avail. "I hope this doesn't change—"

"I need time to think." The ravenette shut him down, leaving the redhead staring at him wide eyes. Dick stood up first.

"Wait, what?" Wally choked. "Hold on, Dick. Why? What's there to think about?" He urgently asked, standing up as well.

"I just. Do. I don't know, but I cant help the feeling of being betrayed. Ill text you later." The ravenette began walking away.

"Dick—" However Wally fought the urge to follow him. The redhead heaved a loud sigh as Dick was already an earshot away.

"Dammit! What do you mean you lost all the goods?! Are you fxckin' kidding me?!" Black Mask, the new underground criminal screamed at his men, throwing his coffee mug at the messenger in front of him.

"S-sir…we don't know what happened…there was an outside interference." The guy faltered.

"Who?!" Black man stood up, slamming his palms on his desk.

As if on cue the closest glass window to his office crashed and someone with a red helmet jumped in. The men in the office immediately raised their guns towards the intruder. "I wouldn't shoot yet. Not if you want this." Redhood dropped a whole bag in front of them on the floor. It was the so called 'goods' they were missing.

"What?! Why do you have that?! Who the hell are you now?! How many clowns do they have running loose in these streets?"

"There's only one clown and that's Joker—unless you're counting yourself?" Redhood scoffed with an air of arrogance. "Either way, the logistics doesn't matter, you found what you're looking for no?"

"This isn't the stuff—what is this some kind of joke?! Kill him!" Black Mask demanded, but Redhood cut him off.

"Its not—it's even better. Double the stuff you lost and all from me." Jason told. Black Mask shot him a skeptical look.

"What exactly do you want? Who're you affiliated with? Batman?" the criminal glanced down at his bat logo once.

"I'm not affiliated with anyone. I just wanna make bank too? What's wrong with that? And I hear you supply some real stuff." The ravenette convinced. Initially he wanted to defeat and apprehend Black Mask but he still needed proof that Black Mask was truly the one behind all the recent drug trades. Hence, he decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

"I don't trust you. What's up with the helmet?"

"What's up with the mask?" Redhood automatically retorted.

"Fine. But this is the last time you break into my office or I'll have you put down!" Black Mask pointed. "And you listen to me—"

"No. Let me make myself clear—I'm working with you, not for you."

"Don't get too cocky now."

"Whatever. I'll come back for more details." Redhood jumped out the same window he came from.

"…I don't like that guy already." Black Mask clicked his tongue.

Days later, Jason was contacted by Black Mask through his men, and was given his first task as a 'partner'—most likely to test his loyalty. So, without further questions, Jason took it. He had to transport some of the merchandise across the lake to the other part of the city. Jason was out of his Redhood clothes for obvious reasons and went so far as to dress up in a three peace suit, pretending to be a casino owner.

"That's a lot of stuff you're carrying there young man." A heavy voice grabbed his attention. The ravenette turned his head to find the ferry driver standing at the edge and hopping on to the dock.

"Yeah, just some stock I have to get across town." Jason nonchalantly told.

"Sure thing, lemme help you out there." The man, who was much older and a tad bigger than him, easily hoisted the wooden boxes and stacked them on the boat. Soon after Jason climbed on to the boat as well. The ride was quiet at first until he noticed the driver check him in the mirror once or twice.

'Is he suspicious of me…?' Jason inevitably thought, observing the other carefully now.

"So, what industry do you work for? You seem quite young." The driver curiously and harmlessly posed.

"Old enough to look after a casino."

"I see. An overachiever. You got a name I could remember?"

"…Jason." The ravenette could've easily lied to him, but in the end, he didn't know why he just went with his real name. A part of him thought it didn't matter since it was just a ferry driver and he wasn't seen as Redhood.

Jason missed the way the other man's eyes widened for a brief second before they neutralized. "Just Jason?"

"You're asking a lot of questions?" Jason tested.

"Just humor this old man, I like talking to my passengers or else this job becomes hella boring."

"…Todd. Jason Todd." The ravenette surrendered, taken aback by the man's wide content smile that followed right after. Jason searched his brain but swore he didn't recognize him.

"A pleasure to meet you then. We'll be arriving at the docks soon." The man pulled up to the planks. "I hope I'll be seeing you around again."

"Yeah, thanks. We'll see about that." Jason expressionless got out, waiting for the driver to unload his stuff before riding away. As he rode away, the man looked back once more at the ravenette standing at the docks. The man smiled again, looking past his license tucked behind a glass bar that read 'Wilis Todd.' He pulled up the sleeve of his right arm, revealing the batman batarang tattoo on his bicep.

"I couldn't be more proud… of my prince of Gotham." Wilis thought out loud to himself. That was a nickname he used to call Jason when he was younger. Though he didn't spend too much time with him growing up considering he was imprisoned early on.

The titans were ready for their mission and traveled to their destination, meanwhile Tim was sitting behind the two screens and headphones on.

"Testing. Do you read me?" Tim began with testing the microphones and their connections through the earpieces.

"Here!" Bart checked in first.

"So freaking loud." Superboy was next and Tim stifled an obvious chuckle to that.

"Agreed." Raven calmly added.

"Read you loud and clear Timmy~" Beast boy also chimed in.

"Beast Boy…" Tim didn't mind the familiarity but it still felt odd at times since he had just met them a few days ago.

"Yes we do. Over." Cyborg gave a thumbs up even if he couldn't see it.

"Let's get this over with already. I can't wait. We just have to rescue the metahuman correct?" Blue Beetle reminded.

"That's correct. She'll be located at the highest floor, inside a lab. Like we discussed there will be security and alarms at every floor, while you all break in and keep them busy, I'll be working hard to hack and disable the alarm systems before you can keep progressing to the next floor. Therefore, wait for my signal. Understood?"

"You bet." Blue Beetle answered as they arrived at the laboratory. Superboy and Cyborg were the first to tackle the guards outside, while Raven pitched a hand as well, using her mana to tear off the doors and allow the others inside. Tim typed away hastily while most of the gang proceeded down the hall, knocking over any new guards that showed up.

The mission was going smoothly, and they managed to pass the first seven floors without difficulty. Tim was impressed at their team work, this was the first time he was witnessing superhero action first hand. Each of them had their unique abilities and with a good number of them, they effortlessly had the upper hand.

All until Superboy got a little impatient. Tim noticed the teen advance on his monitor before he was able to clear the security alarm. "Wait. Superboy, I haven't disabled the laser alarm yet. Halt! Do you hear me?" Tim instantly spoke up.

"Che. It'll be fine, we're one floor away anyways." Conner retorted.

"No! You cant! Those alarms are reinforced with high frequency lasers—it's still dangerous even if you have superhuman physique." Tim stressed. He ignored the annoyed grunt he heard on the other end.

"Listen to him—he's our navigator~! Bart tried.

"Stop telling me what to do." Superboy grunted.

"This isn't the time to be fighting." Tim reminded.

"What he said, lets stay focused." Cyborg was heard in the earpieces as well.

Before Superboy could move forward, Tim picked up on another sudden signal on his monitor. "Superboy! To your left!" Thanks to his warning, the kryptonian was able to deflect the oncoming attack. While he took care of that, Tim worked his fastest to unlock the next floor's alarm. This time around Superboy waited patiently.

They finally retrieved the metahuman and escaped the tower, making it back to the Titan's place where they took care of any injuries.

"Pass me the ointment." Superboy called out towards Tim who was assisting the other teammates in the living space while they were being bandaged. The brunette straight up ignored him and continued tying the a wrapping knot on Blue Beetle's arm.

"Hey, I said can you pass me the ointment." Superboy repeated, catching the other members attention as well.

"That's not what I heard the first time." Tim spat back.

"What the hell?" Conner frowned at him.

"If you cant follow orders than you might as well do it yourself."

The others quietly listened to Tim go off, not daring to say anything.

"Why are you still nagging about that?" Superboy's attitude and lack of accountability in this whole matter was aggravating Tim even further.

"You're unbelievable. What do you think of yourself? You know you're incapable of anything without your team, right?"

"And what makes you think that? I'm totally capable on my own. Aren't you talking too much for an outsider?"

That was the last straw for Tim. "Fine. Do it yourself jerk." The brunette stomped out of the room and straight to their balcony. The room was dead silent after that with thick tension lingering in the air for moments until they glared his way.

"What?" Superboy croaked, not appreciating the glares.

"What're you still sitting there for—go talk to him!" Bart urged.

"Yeah dude, that was so not cool. After everything he did for us." Beast boy also chimed in with Cyborg shaking his head in the back.

"Ugh you guys are annoying." Superboy had no choice but to get up and walk after the teen. Internally he knew he did wrong but his pride was getting in the way of apologizing. So, he was somewhat thankful for his teammates for pushing him.

To Be Continued…

Hey I know a lot of things kickstarting there haha, don't worry we'll tackle them one at a time. Its just that they all have their own stories with different themes, Dick vs Wally, Jason doing his underground mission tryna prove Bruce, and then lastly Tim with the titans. They're all interesting in their own worlds lol. But it'll come together.
