Volefang, Spidercloud, and Lavenderthroat where on patrol looking around, Volefang meowed

" I am going to go over to the dead lands over there. There are usually a lot of herbs there."

Spidercloud meowed " Why are you doing a medicine cat's job?"

Volefang meowed " Mintberry asked me to get some herbs from the dead lands for him."

Spidercloud nodded and Volefang padded to the dead lands. Volefang smelt the scent of cats, Volefang meowed " I wonder why nobody has claimed all this land yet."

He saw cats running for him and halted. A brown and blue she-cat hissed " What are you doing in Lightningclan territory!"

Volefang meowed " Lightningclan territory?"

A black and yellow she-cat meowed " Yea! What are you, mousebrained?"

Volefang backed up and meowed, " I am so sorry, please don't tell your leader!"

The brown and blue she-cat hissed " I'm afraid you are too late for that!"

Volefang meowed " What do you mean?"

The she-cat meowed, " I am Brownstar, the leader of lightningclan."

Volefang looked around and knew he could do nothing other than run. He ran back to his territory and back to camp. Volefang meowed to Cliffstar, " Cliffstar I found a new clan!"

Cliffstar meowed " Oh! Ok."

Just then Cliffstar meowed " It is almost time for the gathering, I will send a patrol to tell them to meet us there."

Yellowpaw meowed " Can I come!"

Cliffstar hissed " No, get back to the elders!"

Volefang padded away to the warriors den and to Batstorm. Volepaw meowed " How are you feeling?"

Batstorm gagged and meowed " Not so good."

Goldenpaw meowed " Flamepaw, you smell like Palmclan again! Why!"

Flamepaw meowed " I tripped next to Palmclan territory and fell in Palmclan scent."

Goldenpaw hissed " Again? This has been going on for moons! That's impossible!"

Flamepaw meowed " I'm just clumsy."

Goldenpaw meowed " If this happens again I will tell the leader."

Flamepaw meowed " You don't need to worry Goldenpaw!"

Cliffstar meowed " Come on everyone it is time for the patrol!"

All cats except cats who couldn't come started padding to the gathering. They finally arrived. Goldenpaw sat next to Poppypaw while waiting for Flamepaw to come over like he promised. Instead he padded over to a Palmclan apprentice, Flamepaw meowed " Hello Frostpaw! How is your clan?"

Frostpaw meowed " That is what is going to be descust today, so I won't spoil the surprise."

Flamepaw nodded and meowed " I can't believe we are going to be warriors soon!"

Frostpaw meowed " We could even have kits!"

Flamepaw meowed " But we are in different clans."

Frostpaw meowed " I could come to your clan if I become pregnant to make cats less suspicious."

Flamepaw meowed " Good idea!"

Goldenpaw padded over and hissed " I thought you were coming over with me and Poppypaw."

Flamepaw meowed " I was going to but I wanted to talk to someone else for a few seconds."

Goldenpaw meowed " Why are you talking to someone from Palmclan?"

Flamepaw meowed " I wanted to learn more about Palmclan."

Goldenpaw gave him a suspicious glance and padded back over to Poppypaw. Goldenpaw meowed " Flamepaw has been acting suspicious the whole time we have been apprentices."

Poppypaw meowed " You probably shouldn't think anything of it, if it's something serious he'll probably tell us."

Goldenpaw put her head down and meowed " I guess you're right."

Cliffstar yowled " The gathering is now starting!"

Cliffstar meows softly into Snakecoat's ear " Didn't you send a patrol to the new clan?"

Snakecoat nodded and meowed " They did not want to come this time apparently."

Cliffstar nodded back and meowed to all " Who would like to go first?"

Palmstar meowed, " I will go first."

Palmstar looked forward and continued " Palmclan has been well, prey has been fine and there are plenty of fish. But I would like to ask Oakstar a question."

Oakstar meowed " Yes?"

Palmstar meowed " Many of my warriors have seen your warriors stealing fish from our pond."
Oakstar meowed " Do you have more evidence of this? Or just the eyes of your warriors."

Pamstar meowed " No, but most of my warriors have seen and smelt your warriors stealing our fish, and you and your warriors look more plump than usual."

Oakstar meowed " Our prey has just been better."

Palmstar stared at Oakstar for a few seconds, then meowed " I will believe you this time, but if more warriors see more of your warriors stealing fish we will have war."

Oakstar nodded and meowed " I will go next, Oakclan's prey has been better, we have had more kits born in our clan too."

Sprucestar meowed " Me next! Spruceclan has had amazing prey and now has 2 new apprentices, Starlingpaw and Fogpaw!"

Starlingpaw, the black long furred she-cat and Fogpaw, the blue short furred tom. Their eyes gleamed with joy. Cliffstar meowed " I will go next, Cliffclan has been fine with prey, and we have some kits on the way from Volefang and Batstorm. I think that concludes this gathering."

All clans got to their leaders, Frostpaw gave one last flick with her tail to Flamepaw and went over to her clan. Flamepaw went back to his clan. They got back to camp and Cliffstar yowled

" Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around!"

All cats gathered around for the warrior ceremony, Cliffstar meowed " Starclan looks over us as these apprentices get their warrior names. Poppypaw, you will now be known as Poppyheart. Flamepaw, you will now be known as Flamestorm. Goldenpaw, you will now be known as Goldenwing. Silverpaw, you will now be known as Silverberry. Yellowpaw, you will now be known as Yellowhiss. Beepaw, you will now be known as Beefur. Swanpaw, you will now be known as Swanbriar. Clan dismissed."

Goldenwing padded over to Poppyheart and Flamestorm. Goldenwing meowed " Is something on your mind Flamestorm?'

Flamestorm meowed " I am in love."

Goldenwing meowed " With who?"

Flamestorm meowed " You will find out soon."

Goldenwing meowed suspiciously, " Ok? Is anything else on your mind? What about you Poppyheart."

Flamestorm shook his head. Poppyheart meowed " Nope."

Goldenwing went to bed wondering what would happen with all this.
