After successfully crippling the horde Sephiroth went about ensuring that most if not all the stragglers were eliminated before finally making his way back to the location of the breach where he found the student body celebrating as Glynda sealed the breach with a slight sigh of exertion, looking her over he made his way towards Ruby who was checking on a group of younger children, after reaching her they looked up at him and quickly ran away in fear, rolling his eyes he looked down at her as she stood

"You could be a little less threatening you know." she offered which he promptly ignored

"What led to this failure?" he questioned earning a sigh from the girl as she muttered something about 'calling it' under her breath

"We found a huge white Fang operation down there, and kinda got caught up in a battle when the train began to leave, we barely got onto the train and failed to prevent it from reaching this place. But we did catch Torchwick so... you know, that's still a win." she said attempting to control the damage of this situation, it didn't seem to work as he looked her over again

"While catching Torchwick is an achievement you have broken the peoples trust in the huntsman academy. That can have dire consequences, you should not have hesitated to kill all in your path to preserve the fragility of peace." he advised, if she would provide anything in the way of entertainment hesitation would make it too easy to kill her.

"But shouldn't prove that we are better by not killing them? It seems like a double edge sword." she reasoned

"Would you not wish to kill one who has killed thousands? Burning homes and listened to the screams? No such a monster should be treated with the same amount of effort, and be slain." he countered calm as ever and without so much as a change in his voice as he turned and walked away

After returning to the school he settled in the library for some reading having completed the entire history section he had moved onto the biographies to gain more on the specifics of individuals, in his readings he eventually was interrupted by a girl with red hair, sitting across from him was Pyrrha Nikos she was politely waiting, ignoring her for the most part he turned the page and she cleared her throat, slowly looking up at her he made no shift or movement to indicate that he saw her

"Sephiroth, do you mind if we talk for a minute?"

"You have that long to make your point then." he answered causing her to panic briefly before speaking "Okay, so I wanted to talk to you about your semblance, it appears that you have telekinesis but I've also seen you create barriers and explode a Grimm from the inside out... so what is your semblance actually?" she asked earning nothing from the man as he returned to his book

"Figure it out for yourself." he answered leaving her more than a little frustrated but not at all worried, there have been quite a few points in time that people have spliced semblances but it was still extremely uncommon. With a hum she pulled one of the books from the many stacks surrounding the man, it was an old title for the ancient legends of remnant

"Why study legends? Looking for a specific story? My mom used to tell me all-" he had tuned her out at this point, she was just going on a tangent similar to how Zack would talk on and on, so he would just make a back log in his mind and let her talk herself into leaving. After waiting a few more minutes she excused herself probably feeling rather happy with their 'conversation' he on the other hand was happy to be able to go back to reading with his full attention.

Another few weeks had passed and Amity Colosseum had arrived, a large cone shaped structure carried by gravity dust, it had most of the military in a buzz as if they were preparing for something, being a general in the past he knew how to fill a city with troops without them knowing, and who ever was in charge of Atlas' forces clearly didn't have much skill with subtlety. Being stopped by a small group of soldiers he was requested to give his ID, being unregistered caused some problems, but for him... he easily influenced the soldiers minds and short circuited the androids.

"If you know he knows about the vaults why is he walking free? Here of all places!?" James questioned slamming his fist into the desk causing it to strain under his strike, Ozpin stared him down for a few moments before speaking

"Sephiroth may not seem like the most kind person, but I trust that he is merely misguided by the past that he was forced to face, Glynda has quite the newly founded bond with the young man. He has quite the time as a young man." he reasoned gesturing to the woman who handed him a sheet of paper, on which was her full understanding of Sephiroth, quickly reading over the sheet he looked up at her the two stared for a few moments before finally returning to the paper, he eventually sighed and handed it back

"That is obviously a fake backstory he made up, Salems' servants cant be trusted for anything, we need to act now and swiftly." he said in an actually calm tone this time "You know as well as I do that he is a threat! And we should act now."

"Speak with him, if you truly believe that, learn more about him yourself perhaps that'll be better at convincing you." Ozpin offered "And don't you think that having him here is better that having him out there? We can keep an eye on him here. Think more tactically about this James, with him under our watch wouldn't it be far safer then if he gets away from confinement?" Ozpin reasoned again earning a sigh from the man

"Fine. But if he puts one toe out of line-"

"We understand James." Glynda commented rolling her eyes at him, as he turned and walked towards the elevator ignoring the glare from the woman, Ozpin on the other hand spun around in his chair and stared out the window at Vale.

Sephiroth blocked a strike from Ruby then leapt back, stepping to the side he avoided a strike from Yang who shattered the ground with her strike, leaping away he swatted strikes from Blake and Weiss easily, landing he turned around and blocked a powerful strike from Ruby who growled in frustration as he leapt away again, she had found that when he locked blades with anyone he would break away as soon as he felt resistance, from what she could tell it was because he preferred to keep mobile.

Landing between the other three members of her team he spun around slashing the three of them sending all of them into each of the three walls, twisting around he elbowed Ruby as she moved to attack him, sending her rolling, quickly returning to her feet she dropped back to the ground with a groan. Yang stood and rushed him firing her gauntlets with each attack, easily pushing her attacks away from him he took a few steps back and swung at her, leaping back she flipped over the attack and fired two shots at him both of which he easily avoided as he stepped forward and grabbed her by the collar and pulled her forward, leaping up he slammed his knee into her face sending her spiraling through the air and into the wall on the other side of the arena, with a sigh he looked over each of them

"You all need to focus." he said walking over to Ruby and pulled her to her feet, with a grunt she attempted to put weight on her left leg and found it slightly strained "We aren't used to fighting someone who is comparable to a brick wall." she commented with a smile, he did not reciprocate said sentiment as he made his way over to Yang and pulled her free by her hair and dropped her to the ground which she groaned about having fallen onto quite a few large rocks. With a groan she glared up at him which he greeted with a smile

"Failure." was all he said as he turned and walked away, that triggered Yang, he had kept looking down on everyone and no one seemed to notice, it was like she was going crazy! With a shout of rage she stood and rushed him as soon as her fist collided with the back of his head she was shocked to find that it passed straight through, quickly snapping around she found no one, and nothing the arena was empty of everyone.

"Still you struggle as the endless waves of fate attempt to drown you. I can not be stopped. I can not be harmed. I can not fall. You though... you are human, fragile, weak, dust in the winds of eternity." Sephiroths' voice echoed around her turning she found nothing, swinging a punch she met nothing but air "Watching you struggle is entertainment for me. I want to see just how far you can go before drowning." he finished with a cold laughter that whispered it's way into Yangs ears sending a chill up her spine, turning around she found the man standing a few feet away as a searing pain shot through her body, slowly looking down she watched as Masamune slowly grew from her wound and into his waiting hand, lifting the blade up she moved too, letting out a pained cry as the wound was disturbed she looked up at him, the coldness in his eyes froze her, because the smile held nothing but pleasure, pleasure that she was suffering

"I wonder, how much would you have to lose to give up? I don't believe it would be much~." he cooed drawing the blade from her gut dropping her to the ground colliding with it she quickly looked up and horror filled her as powerful flames had engulfed her home

"DAD!" She shrieked and made a dash for the half charred door as it slowly burned away grabbing onto the metal handle she quickly released and let out a hiss as she stared at the black and cracked flesh on her palm the torrents of pain from her chest sending her back to the ground the sounds of fire and breaking wood sending her mind into overdrive, looking around the front of the house she felt tears begin to well up in her eyes, she couldn't help anyone like this, lost for what to do she quickly stood feeling the world tumble she carefully maintained her balance before making her way around the house to the back where she knew there was another entrance, reaching the back of the house she looked around her eyes quickly locked onto two individuals firstly was Sephiroth standing over another, slowly moving forward she felt her heart break her father was lying dead at his feet covered in cuts and deep stab wounds

"Fuck you!" Yang screamed and attacked the man as he slowly turned to her and smiled-

Sitting up yang gasped and looked around, she was in her dorm room quickly looking around she grabbed her scroll and with shaky hands dialed her fathers number it rang once... twice... three... four... voice mail, checking the time she noted that it was a little after midnight, with a growl she stood from her bed and out of the dorm, she made no effort to stay quiet that required more thought than she was capable of right now. Making her way towards the tower she ignored just about everything storming her way towards the tower. She was completely and utterly horrified

"Excuse me ma'am. The tower is-" a man began but Yang ignored him and shoved him out of her way as she made her way inside. Moving up the stairs she slammed the door open, entering the circular room she marched towards the elevator and pressed the down button on it, after a few moments it opened and she marched in, pressing the communication level button with a huff. After waiting a few minutes the door opened once more. And Yang made her way towards one of the transmit computers sitting down she pulled her scroll out and scanned it, then dialed her home. It rang a few times before automatically activating the call, looking around the office she let out a sigh, there were no flames, her father was sleeping in his bed across the room barely visible in the camera, rubbing her eyes she hung up feeling her adrenaline slowly fade, exhaustion began to grow as the elevator door opened again and multiple footsteps could be heard

Ruby wasn't in any mood for distractions right about now. With Yang currently in custody of the Atlas Military she needed to go bail her out, and that wasn't gonna be fun, not that she was big on scheduling but she had training with Sephiroth too, and he made sure that it hurt a lot if she was ever late, she dreaded to think what would happen if she missed a day... and now she was stressing over that... fantastic.

"Team leader Rose." a man saluted her and she awkwardly followed suit "You are to report to General Ironwoods' office to discuss the release of Team member Xiao-Long." he added before turning on his heel and walking away, judging by his attire she kinda thought he looked like Sephiroth wearing all white as opposed to black. Turning again she began to make her way towards the landing dock, frustration building up in her mind, what was her sister doing?

Staring up at the colosseum, Sephiroth couldn't help but feel excited, so many 'brave' souls ready to throw their lives away he smiled then turned to greet Glynda who quietly walked up next to him

"General Ironwood doesn't trust you." she said earning a hum from the man

"I wouldn't expect him to, what about you?" he questioned watching her much closer now as she paced in front of him her heels now clicking on the ground

"I don't know. I think that you're troubled, and try real hard to do the right thing. I want to trust you, because we share an amount of pain, I am going to keep an eye on you, and I hope that you'll impress me." she answered, it was a calculated and vague answer, one he couldn't ascertain the feelings behind due to both facts, too many options, but her mind was easily invaded and read. In her mind he could find that she wanted to trust him but had no proof other than a 'shared' pain, so as long as he plays the guilty survivor he could have a stream of information that would be very helpful.

"Tell me then, why is there such a heavy military presence in the city itself? What warrants such defensive strategies?" he questioned as they began to walked towards the school

"I believe that General Ironwood is being cautious, perhaps too cautious." she answered earning a hum from the man, when the colosseum arrive it had arrived with three extra ships, bringing the total to eight warships hovering over the city.

"He must have a reason. One which I would like to know." he added as they came to a stop in front of the dormitories "Perhaps you could set up a meeting for me." he offered earning a nod from the woman

"He suggested the same thing, I'll call him later and give you a time." she said earning a nod from the man as he entered the building their conversation ending at that.

After a few days he and Ironwood finally had the chance to meet, the two met at a location in vale, a small coffee shop titled 'Riverdive' a small building on the waterfront with a small fenced in area out front, the two were the only occupants of said area, behind Ironwood was an entire squad of soldiers and bots, Sephiroth came alone.

Sitting down in front of the man Sephiroth made little to no movements as he stared into the mans eyes, the two search the other for a note of intent or hostility, Sephiroth could easily tell the man hated politics and preferred action. James on the other hand couldn't tell a single thing about Sephiroth, he was completely blank, not a single vision into his mind.

"Sephiroth. No last name, no home village, no birth parents, nothing. Tell me, how did an enigma such as yourself pop up out of nowhere and joined the most prestigious huntsman academy?" he questioned Sephiroth casually looked at the guards behind him as he spoke

"I proved that my skills were more than acceptable to join. To answer your other suspicions I was an orphan, there for I have no last name home or birth parents." he answered with an even tone, Ironwood hummed and crossed his arms while leaning back the two staring for a while, no words between the two, they sat quietly in so much tension neither one willing to speak, both waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

"Sephiroth? I didn't know you knew general Ironwood." Rubys' voice came from their left, looking over both found the girl leaning on the fence staring at the two

"Actually we were just getting acquainted." Ironwood said with a warm smile on his face "Perhaps you could tell me more about him? He doesn't seem to like talking about himself."

"Yeah. He aint big on talking in general. He prefers action." Ruby said with a quick laugh as Yang Weiss and Blake came walking towards them, apparently to retrieve Ruby

"I was hoping to see him in action during the tournament, sadly single members teams aren't able to partake." Ironwood commented earning a whine from Ruby

"It would have been cool to see him fight though, he could probably win the whole thing if he was able to fight."

"Really now?"

"Yeah, he's been training me but even still I cant come close." Ruby added before turning to her team "Come on guys, lets go already."

"We came back for- and she's gone..." Yang trailed off with a sigh, Ruby had more energy than any of them knew what to do with.

A/N These chapters'll be shorter so I can get to the fun stuff faster. That and I'm visiting family in a different state so I wont be able to upload for a couple of weeks, but not to worry, I will be writing down all my ideas.
