Chapter 16: Defenders of Peace

We find ourselves on the planet Maridun as Anakin and Obi-Wan were healing from their injuries.
Needless to say the Clones were keeping an eye on things as the other Jedi were keeping watch on their friends.
As some Lurmens were lifting some heavy baskets, Wrecker walks over and lifts it up with one hand to help stack.
Smiling they offer him a fruit in thanks.
"Thanks." Wrecker smiles taking a big bite out of it.
On the hill, Crosshair looked to the sky and noticed something flying in their direction.
"Hunter, we got company." Crosshair said as he and Rex took out binoculars.
"Are they friendly?" Bly asks.
"Negative. It's a droid ship." Rex said.
"And it's coming our way." Hunter said.
Putting on his helmet, Bly heads to the medical hut where Anakin and Obi-Wan were being treated while Ahsoka, Shun and Aayla were watching over them.
"General." Bly said getting their attention.
"Yes Commander?" Aayla asks.
"We've got a Separatist ship, incoming." Bly informs.
"But this is neutral space." Wang Too said.
"It won't be for long. Not if the Separatists have their way." Anakin said struggling to get up but Wang Too stops him.
"You two are still too injured to move." Wang Too said when Tee Watt Kaa enters.
"What menace have you brought to our village now, Jedi?" He asks.
"Hey don't blame us for this." Shun said.
"Yeah they don't even know we're here." Ahsoka agrees.
"And they can't. We need to hide." Obi-Wan said.
"Your presence here endangers us. You must leave before your enemies find you." Tee Watt Kaa orders.
"But you'll need our help. You can't fight them alone." Ahsoka said.
"We will not fight at all. We would rather die than kill others." Tee Watt Kaa said.
"Are you insane? Do you not understand what you're saying?" Shun said.
"Shun stop." Obi-Wan calls out. "If the Lurmen want to remain neutral we can't force them to fight."
"See to it that they leave. I must see what our new visitors want." Tee Watt Kaa said leaving.
"What they want is your people." Shun said.
"Shun leave him." Anakin urged.
Seeing Anakin and Obi-Wan needed help Shun had no choice.
While Bly and Rex helped Anakin by supporting him on their shoulders Wrecker picked up Obi-Wan with ease.
"Well this is embarrassing." Obi-Wan mutters being given a piggyback.
"Don't worry sir. I'll make sure you'll get out safely." Wrecker said as they made their way out of the village.
At the ship, Tee Watt Kaa approaches to see a large nemodian exit the ship with multiple battle droids at his side.
"I am General Lok Durd of the Separatist Alliance." He declares.
"I am Tee Watt Kaa, leader of this colony. What do you—"
"You are now under the protection of the Separatist Alliance. I congratulate you on your good fortune." Lok interrupts as he and his droids approach the village.
"Thank you, but we enjoyed good fortune well before your arrival. We are a peaceful people, General. I do not condone your presence here." Tee Watt Kaa said catching up with them.
"Then stand aside. I would like to inspect my new colony." Lok cackles. "Ransack this dungheap."
Pausing Tee Watt Kaa realized Shun was right. They did want their home.
As the droids marched through the streets all the Lurmen cowarded in fear while blasters were being fired in the air scaring them.
"Why are they tearing apart our homes? We've done nothing to them." Wang Too asks.
"Violence. That's what those droids are programmed for." Ahsoka said.
"And since they now know your chief won't fight back they'll do whatever they want. We have to stop them." Shun said turning to the Jedi masters.
"Absolutely not." Aayla said.
"If we're discovered, all of the Lurmen will be slaughtered." Obi-Wan said.
"We'll be okay if we make it to the tall grasses." Anakin gestures to the tall grass on the outskirts of the village.
As they made their way out Ahsoka noticed Shun gripping his shirt again.
'What is he holding?' Ahsoka thought as they made their escape.
"There is no evidence of any weapons or Republic contraband, General. In the future, we may conduct more periodic searches like this one in order to maintain security." Lok informs.
"Because we are such an obvious threat to you." Tee Watt Kaa said sarcastically. "We will offer no resistance."
"Your species is smarter than you appear." Lok said as he and his droids left the village.
"Father are you okay?" Wang Too asks running to his side but got no response. "At least the Jedi are safe."
"Yes, but they nearly brought harm to our entire village." Tee Watt Kaa blames.
"But now, thanks to you, we're safe to grovel before every petty tyrant who enters our system." Wang Too blames getting his father's attention.
"You would mock our very way of life? I have just ensured we will have peace." Tee Watt Kaa said turning to face his son.
"For now and at what cost? Aren't you concerned about the Jedi?" Wang Too asks as some of his friends looked over.
"I have no quarrel with the Jedi, but we cannot help them without being drawn into their war." Tee Watt Kaa said leaving.
Narrowing his eyes Wang Too looks at his friends.
"Tub, track the Jedi. Make sure they get off world." Wang Too said as his friend ran out of the village.
In the tall grass, the Jedi and Clones were eating rations to get their strength back.
"You know, I can't figure those villagers not wanting to fight." Wrecker said.
"No pride I guess." Bly assumes.
"More like no courage." Ahsoka said.
"Sometimes it takes courage to stick to one's beliefs, young Padawan, as any Jedi well knows." Aayla lectures.
"But sometimes you have to put aside beliefs for the good of others. Which Tee Watt Kaa refuses to do." Shun said.
"You can't force someone to change their mind Shun." Obi-Wan said.
"Besides right now we need to figure out a way off this planet." Tech said.
"We need to find a ship. And I think the only one around here belongs to the Separatists." Anakin said getting their attention. "We know they have a landing ship. They might have a shuttle."
"Since one of their representatives came here odds are they most likely have a ship or two capable of carrying all of us." Tech said.
"Sir, you talking about stealing from one of the clankers? Count me in." Rex said.
"Me too." Wrecker grins.
"We need to find them first." Bly said when Crosshair noticed something.
"Found them." Drawing his rifle Crosshair fired multiple shots into the grass causing something to explode.
Heading to the explosion, they saw the remains of a scout droid near a giant tree.
"Good shot Crosshair." Hunter said.
"Please even in all this grass it was an easy shot." Crosshair said.
"Where do you think it was going?" Ahsoka asks examining it.
"I bet we can see it from up there." Aayla said looking at the tree.
Climbing to one of the tallest branches Anakin and Obi-Wan see Ahsoka, Aayla and the clones looking ahead.
"Hope you two are feeling better because look what we found." Ahsoka said handing him the binoculars.
"I'm getting stronger all the time, Snips." Anakin smirks as they looked to see the big droid base.
"Hmm but are you ready for that?" Obi-Wan asks.
"Uhh…I'm not sure." Anakin said nervously.
"There's a shuttle inside that base." Tech points out.
"That's our ticket off this rock." Anakin said.
"Won't be easy sir." Rex said.
"I'm not seeing any flaws in their security line." Hunter said.
Looking through the binoculars, Anakin saw a large cannon being mounted onto a tank.
"And it appears they have a new toy." Anakin narrows his eyes. "See if any of you can get a closer look."
"Easy." Crosshair said leaping down.
"Come on." Hunter said as he, Rex and Tech went to join them.
At the base of the tree Ahsoka looks down to see Shun all by himself keeping watch from the ground.
Slowly Ahsoka made her way down to him.
"Hey you coming up? We think they have a new weapon." Ahsoka said.
"I'll be up there soon. I just need to clear my head. This mission has really gotten to me." Shun said.
"Does it have anything to do with that thing under your shirt?" Ahsoka asks surprising him. "I see you grab it when you hear something you don't like. What are you hiding?"
"Nothing." Shun said turning away.
"Doesn't sound like nothing. Come on spill." Ahsoka said walking up to him.
Nervously Shun tries to step away but she turns him around to look her in the eye.
"Shun what's going on?" She asks concerned.
"If I tell you this you have to swear you won't tell anyone. Especially other Jedi." Shun said.
"What is it?" Ashoka asks confused and nervously.
Reaching into his shirt, Shun pulls out the Gray Order symbol looped around a necklace chain.
"What symbol is that? I've never seen it before." Ahsoka asks interested.
"It's the symbol of my new goal. The Gray Order." Shun said.
"The Gray Order?" Ahsoka asks confused.
"Ahsoka I don't know how to say this but…the Jedi Code is flawed." Shun said shocking her. "They want us to push away the ones we care about. Be emotionless and after seeing incidents like the ones we've been dealing with I just can't do it. I want to feel attachment. To all the people I see.
"Shun this kinda sounds like what they warn us about the Dark Side." Ahsoka said nervously.
"No, the Sith let their emotions control them. This is in-between them. Control but feelings." Shun said.
"Shun this is big. This could get you into some serious trouble." Ahsoka said.
"I know. Ahsoka you're one of my closest friends and I can't force people to change. But if you find yourself wondering if what I'm doing is right think about this. I want you to remember how hurt and close to death Anakin was during the attack. When you're in trouble I want you to think about how much you wanted to protect him and make sure he was safe." Shun suggests.
"But that goes against the Jedi Way." Ahsoka said.
"I'm not asking you to embrace. Just try it once." Shun said tucking the necklace back under his shirt.
"This is really important to you?" Ahsoka asks. "It's very dangerous."
"Most are, but I don't want to push people away. I want to help them. Get close to them. And this might be the best way. I have to try." Shun said.
"You know what Master Yoda always says." Ahsoka smirks.
"Do or do not. There is no try." They both said at the same time.
"Alright I won't tell anyone but I'll be keeping an eye on you." Ahsoka said.
"See you're one of the reasons I want to do this. You're amazing Ahsoka." Shun smiles surprising her.
"Oh uh…thank you." Ahsoka blushes softly.
At the droid base, we see tons of droids lined up as Lok Durd looked down at all of them.
"Is the defoliator capsule ready?" Lok asks as an alien mechanic gave him the thumbs up. "Today is a grand day for the Separatist cause. We test a new weapon, of my own design, which is capable of catastrophic destruction! A weapon which will destroy organic matter, but leave machines unharmed." Lok explains making all the droids cheer. "But first we need two volunteers."
Immediately the droids stepped back leaving two in the front row to do it.
"The volunteers are you and you." Lok points.
"Me?" Both droids said not liking this.
"Go to that ridge." Lok points out into the distance.
"Roger roger." Both said before walking away.
Through the binoculars Anakin saw the droids heading towards the clones.
"Stand down boys." Anakin communicates.
Seeing this Crosshair, Tech, Rex and Hunter hid with weapons at the ready. Little did they know Lok was on a hologram conference with Dooku.
"Count Dooku, I have located a world in which we can test my..." Stopping midsentence Dooku glares at him. "Excuse me, our new weapon."
"I hope it turns out to be worth the expense. You may proceed." Dooku said.
"Yes my lord. Ready?" Lok calls out.
"Roger." A droids said.
"Aim…Fire!" Lok orders as the tank fires a weapon into the sky.
"We got trouble." Crosshair said seeing the weapon go in their direction.
"Should we take cover?" A droid asks.
"No, idiot, that is not even gonna hit us." The other droid said as the missle crashed nearby creating a powerful shockwave that passed through the droids and burnt everything else.
"Run!" Rex yells as the four clones tried to escape.
Scrambling Shun used his Earthbending to launch the clones up into the air.
Firing their cables they swung onto the tree to safety.
"Great balls of fire! What was that?!" Wrecker said lifting up his helmet to see properly.
"That is some toy." Ahsoka said as Shun climbed up.
"Everyone okay?" Shun asks.
"Yeah thanks to you Shun. I owe ya one." Hunter said helping him up.
"We're a team Hunter. I got your back." Shun said.
"As touching as this is, they just wiped out the whole area." Obi-Wan said gesturing to the burned fields.
"As you can see, the landscape has been destroyed and the droids are undamaged." Lok gestures.
"Impressive. But now we need to know how effective this weapon will be against living creatures." Dooku points out.
"Of course. I specifically chose this planet because it is inhabited. The colonists will make excellent test subjects." Lok grins.
"Proceed then. I eagerly await results." Dooku said ending the transmission.
"Move out!" Lok Durd orders as the droids moved out.
"Where are they going now?" Aayla asks.
"They must be going back to the Lurmen village. There's nothing else in that direction." Anakin said.
"They don't stand a chance against that thing." Wrecker said.
"By my calculations that weapon has a range big enough to wipe out the whole village and more." Tech said.
"We have to stop them." Shun said quickly.
"First we'll take out the droids' communications station. Then after we get a shuttle, we'll go back and help the Lurmen." Anakin said.
"But Tee Watt Kaa said he doesn't need our help." Ahsoka reminds.
"They're gonna wipe them out Ahsoka we're gonna help whether he wants it or not." Shun said.
"In this case Shun I must agree." Obi-Wan said.
"There is a difference between pulling innocents into a war, and leaving them to extinction." Anakin agrees.
As they headed out Tub was watching them from the tree across.
"Tell Wang Too the Sepratists are returning." Tub whispers as his little bird companion flew away.
That night at the droid base, we see Aayla, Shun and Ahsoka sneaking near the main gate while Anakin, Obi-Wan and the Clones hid among the grass.
Slowly Tech handed Wrecker some rocks and pointed near some droids.
Grinning Wrecker threw the rocks in the directions Tech pointed getting their attention.
"What was that?" Looking down one droid saw a rock that Wrecker threw.
Using the Force, Anakin had the rock roll towards them with the droid right behind it.
As the droid walked out of range, Obi-Wan and Anakin slashed it in half with their lightsabers.
Confused the other droids looked in that area not noticing Hunter draw his knife.
Moving in Hunter slashes one's head off while Wrecker smashed it and Rex and Bly took out the other two leaving one side completely exposed.
Using his metalbending, Shun made multiple steps shoot out of the wall allowing them to scale it with ease.
"You two handle the door. I'll handle the droids." Aayla whispers as they split up.
Running along the top floor, Aayla slashes the droids before they spotted her.
Hiding behind some crates, Shun and Ahsoka waited until two droids passed by before igniting their lightsabers and slashing them in half.
Pushing the button on the door, it opens allowing the others to sneak in.
In a droid control center, 3 droids were checking things.
"Check the exterior. We cannot have any surprises for the General." One droid said as Bly grabbed the droid to its right and yanked it out of the booth. "Four-Seven-Two-Four, how does the west end check out?" To its left, Wrecker smashes the droid with one hand. "What the—" Before he could finish Anakin slashes it in half.
Running ahead Shun used his metalbending to crush the droids giving them a path to the shuttle.
At the village, Wang Too was relaying the information.
"The Separatists are on the march, they are returning to our village." Wang Too warns.
"They did not attack us before, there's no reason to think they will this time." Tee Watt Kaa said.
"Father, they would not be coming back here unless they intended to do us harm. This is war." Wang Too declares.
"But not our war. We've done nothing to provoke them and we will not. That is their way." Tee Watt Kaa said.
"So we will just lay down and be slaughtered? Father, even if we don't fight the Separatists, we must defend ourselves!" Wang Too said.
"Mounting a defense is still engaging in battle. If we sacrifice our beliefs, we're no better than they are. Our philosophy has helped us to survive for generations, and we will not change our morals now or ever." Tee Watt Kaa declares.
"Don't you see? Shun was right. They want to kill us and you would rather die and do nothing then live?" Wang Too asks.
"I do not want to hear another word about that young Jedi. He is too reckless. He doesn't appreciate our culture." Tee Watt Kaa insists.
"At least he's no coward." Wang Too mutters.
Back at the droid base, Shun took out the last droids before they approached the shuttle.
"Shield generators sir." Bly points out.
"Let's take them with us." Anakin said as they took the shield generators and boarded the ship to escape.
The following morning the shuttle they stole landed in the village.
"What are you doing here? I told you not to return." Tee Watt Kaa said as they walked out.
"I'm afraid the Separatists don't care whether you're in the war or not." Anakin said.
"We need to get you to safety before they arrive. The situation has gotten dangerous." Obi-Wan warns.
"We will not abandon our homes." Tee Watt Kaa insists.
"But they've got a new 'll burn this place to a crisp. Is this what all of you really want?" Ahsoka asks.
"If it is our destiny to be destroyed in your war then so be it." Tee Watt Kaa declares.
It was at that moment something in Shun snapped.
"What kind of stupid answer is that you stubborn old idiot?!" Shun yells surprising everyone.
"Shun calm down." Obi-Wan said.
"No I will not!" Shun said before walking to the leader. "You would throw the lives of every single one of your people for your own beliefs?! What is your problem?!"
"The problem is you. You brought this war to us and we do not want any part in it." Tee Watt Kaa points.
"Yeah well newsflash the war is here whether you want it to or not. It's been happening long before we showed up and it's still going to be going on for who knows how long. You can't just run away from things you don't like. We've been to their base. They have droids, tanks, all kinds of weapons ready to burn every trace of your people away and you're not going to do anything about it?!" Shun asks.
"We will not lower ourselves to fight in this war." Tee Watt Kaa said.
"You know even though the Airbenders thought the same as you, when the Fire Nation stormed their temples, they were willing to defend themselves." Shun said.
"Still didn't stop them from being wiped out." Tee Watt Kaa reminds.
"No you're right it didn't, but at least they weren't willing to become extinct like you." Shun said.
While Tee Watt Kaa didn't seem fazed Shun's message seemed to hit Wang Too and a few others.
"What's it gonna be old man?" Shun asks.
However instead of an answer Tee Watt Kaa just walks away.
"Fine! Have it your way!" Shun snaps before turning to the front of the village.
"Shun what have I said about lecturing leaders?" Obi-Wan asks.
"This is like Pantora all over again." Anakin said.
"I don't care. He needed to hear that. I don't care what his beliefs are anymore. I am going to risk everything to protect these people. That's my belief." Shun said.
Hearing this Ahsoka couldn't help but feel inspired by that declaration.
On the outskirts of the village, Shun made a huge earth wall in front of it as they lined up many pods behind it.
Atop a pod, Crosshair looked out to see the tanks approaching.
"Droids inbound. We got a few minutes tops." Crosshair informs.
"Come on, guys! Let's get these shield generators in place!" Anakin said as Tech and Wrecker lined them up.
"Come on Tech hurry." Wrecker said.
"If you know how to make these work faster be my guest." Tech said working furiously to get the shields up and ready.
Down the road, Lok Durk and his tanks were approaching the village.
"When Count Dooku sees how successful my weapon is against civilian targets, I will no doubt be promoted to a more substantial position within the Alliance." He grins.
"Okay right." A droid said looking through binoculars at the city. "Sir the villagers seem to have a large stone wall and several pods lined up in front of the village."
"How quaint." Looking through binoculars, Lok Durk sees the Jedi and clones. "Jedi? What are they doing here? Halt!"
"Please stop what you're doing. Stop building that wall." Tee Watt Kaa orders.
"No we won't!" Shun said turning to him.
"Are you going to let this young boy speak for you all?" Tee Watt Kaa asks pointing at Shun.
"Yes we are." Anakin said standing by him.
"I did not ask you to defend us." Tee Watt Kaa said.
"This battle is inevitable. You have your beliefs and we have ours. Whether you want us here or not we are going to protect you." Obi-Wan said.
Slowly Tee Watt Kaa walks away while Wang Too approaches Shun and Ahsoka.
"Thank you for what you're trying to do. I'm sorry, but I cannot help. My father is very strong-willed and set in tradition. Many others agree with me, but we were raised under a very strict code. We must respect it even if we don't agree." Wang Too explains.
"Wang Too, I understand what you're going through but you should know. Sometimes to do the right thing you have to be willing to go against the code for the good of others. If you're doing it for yourself that's one thing but if your intentions are right then you have to find the will to do things others won't do." Shun explains.
Hearing this Ahsoka began to understand more and more why Shun is trying to start the Gray Order.
"They're coming." Crosshair warns.
"They're not going to charge us. Not if they can hit us from long range first. But if we can withstand that weapon, we'll draw them in." Anakin explains.
"Prepare to fire!" A droid said readying the weapon.
"Wait for it." Hunter said as Tech's fingers were hovering over the buttons.
"Goodbye, Jedi. Fire!" Lok declares as the weapon was fired.
"Now Tech!" Hunter yells as Tech powered up the shield generators around the village shielding them from the weapon.
"It worked." Ahsoka grins.
"Now, they'll have to get their hands dirty and meet us face to face." Anakin grins.
"Squad one prepare to charge!" Lok orders as the first squad of droids moved out.
"Now Shun!" Obi-Wan orders as Shun thrusts his hand forward sending the earth wall sliding towards the army flattening half the squad.
Exiting the shield, all the Jedi drew their lightsabers while the clones readied their weapons from behind.
Charging in the Jedi used their lightsabers to deflect enemy fire and take out the droids while the clones fired their blasters.
"Sir Squad 1 has been destroyed." A droid said.
"Squads two and three advance!" Lok orders.
"Well that wasn't so bad." Ahsoka said.
"That was just the first wave." Obi-Wan warns as two more squads of droids came in.
Charging in the Jedi began slashing as many as they could away but while they were distracted the other droids ran past them to the shields.
"Here comes the party!" Wrecker said readying himself.
"Shun we need to go help them!" Obi-Wan said.
Nodding the two of them raced back to the village.
Anakin was about to tell Ahsoka something when a Super Battle Droid fired a missile and knocked Anakin to the ground making Ahsoka.
'Use your emotions to protect Anakin and keep him safe.' Shun's words rang in her head.
Just as the droid was about to fire Ahsoka used a powerful Force Push sending the droid flying away from Anakin and crashing into 3 more Battle Droids.
"Hey get off me!" A droid said when Ahsoka leaps in and destroys the 4 of them at once.
"Whoa thanks Snips." Anakin said as Ahsoka helped her up.
"I think you've had enough punishment for one mission." Ahsoka said.
"You go help the villagers I'll take out that weapon." Anakin said.
Nodding Ahsoka ran off still thinking about her last attack.
Near the pods, Wrecker was punching droids left and right while the others fired trying to keep them away.
"They're going for the shields! Fall back!" Rex orders.
Tech tried to the get the generators out of harms way but it was too late. The Droid fire destroyed them.
"Sheilds are down! Repeat the shields are down!" Tech calls out.
"Hunter what do we do?" Wrecker asks.
"The only thing we can do. Start busting heads and buy these people time to get out." Hunter said drawing his knife.
"Their shield is down! Launch another shell!" Lok Durk orders when a droid sees Anakin running towards them.
"Sir a Jedi is coming right for us."
"Then blast him!" He snaps as the droids fired on Anakin but he dodges them all.
In the village, Shun slashes a droid before turning around and fired a gust of air blowing them back.
Moving in Hunter slashes a droid and lands at Shun's side.
"How are the others holding up?" Shun asks.
"We've had worse odds." Hunter said.
"Keep going on. We can't let even one of them get a lucky shot." Shun said as they both charged in.
Exiting their homes Wang Too and some of his friends were carrying farm tools as weapons.
"What are you doing?" Tee Watt Kaa asks.
"We are going to help." Wang Too declares.
"I forbid it!" Tee Watt Kaa said outraged.
"What more would you have them do before we are allowed to defend ourselves? You may be willing to let us all die but I'm not." Wang Too said leaving his father speechless. "We have to do this."
Heading out onto the battlefield, the Lurmen throw multiple vines at the droids feet making them trip and fall.
Running her lightsaber along the ground Ahsoka began cutting their heads off while they were immobilized.
"Here comes the pain!" Leaping off a hut Wrecker body slams multiple droids.
"Always having fun Wrecker." Tech said as he, Rex and Bly fired their blasters taking out droids wandering the village.
Atop a hut, Crosshair sniped every droid that came in his line of sight.
"I think I liked it better when we worked alone." Crosshair mutters.
"Suck it up." Hunter said shooting one droid with his blaster and throwing his knife killing another.
Outside the village, Anakin was on the warpath.
Leaping over the tank he slashed his lightsaber along it destroying the new weapon.
"Help! I'll be defoliated!" Lok Durk panics as Anakin took out the tank.
Climbing out Lok Durk tried to make his escape but Anakin used the Force to lift him into the air capturing him.
"There goes my promotion." He frowns.
"The weapon has been disabled." Anakin said into his commlink.
"Well then I guess all that's left is to hold up our end." Obi-Wan said redirecting fire and hitting a droid in the head.
Shoving his hands into the dirt, Shun earthbends multiple cracks in the ground causing all the droids feet to sink underneath.
"I can't move!" A droid said.
Using this chance, Ahsoka, Aayla, Obi-Wan, the clones and the Lurmens took out all the remaining droids.
After the battle, they were all preparing to leave when Wang Too approached them.
"Thanks for the help." Shun said.
"Thank you. Our village would certainly have been destroyed without your protection." Wang Too said as Tee Watt Kaa approached them. "Father, I was just offering the Jedi our thanks."
"Perhaps we do owe you thanks. But I still wonder, at what cost?" Tee Watt Kaa asks looking up at Republic Cruisers orbiting the planet.
"Life changes sir and sometimes you have to change with it. Even a little change helps." Shun said walking away.
"Shun while I never seem to know what goes on in that head or yours your heart is always in the right place." Obi-Wan said.
"Thanks Master and I want to say thank you." Shun said.
"For what?" Obi-Wan asks.
"For saving me from the crash. You risked your life to save me and I'm truly grateful." Shun said making him smile.
"I'm your master. I will always look out for you my young Padawan." Obi-Wan said putting his hand on his shoulder and the two of them boarded the shuttle.
Back on Coruscant, we find Shun laying in his room trying to relax when he heard a knock at his door.
"Come in." Shun said as the door opened revealing Ahsoka. "Ahsoka?"
"Hey you got a minute to talk?" Ahsoka asks as he sits up.
"Sure." Shun said as she walks over.
"Look I wanted to say I'm sorry about calling you crazy about your whole Gray Order idea." Ahsoka said.
"It's fine. I knew I wasn't gonna get good criticism for it." Shun sighs.
"But that's the thing, I took your advice about using my emotions to protect my master and you were right. I never felt so powerful but so in control at the same time." Ahsoka said surprising him.
"Really?" Shun asks not expecting that.
"Look I don't know how long you'll be able to keep this a secret, sooner or later more will learn but I want you to know that I've got your back and I want to learn more." Ahsoka said.
Looking up at her smiling face, Shun couldn't help but smile.
"Ahsoka be honest with me. Do really want to be a part of the Gray Order?" Shun asks.
"Yes I do." Ahsoka nods.
"Well then, I want to give you something." Shun said.
"What are you talking about?" Ahsoka asks.
"When I came up with the idea for the Gray Order, I learned a skill. One that would help all who agreed to join my cause. It's a skill, one that you would have to rely on your emotions to fully utilize. One that can make you stronger than ever before but it won't corrupt you." Shun explains.
Needless to say Ahsoka was interested.
"I'm gonna warn you I haven't tried this before and once you do this there's no turning back." Shun said.
"I know but I'm willing to try." Ahsoka said.
"Well then, let's get you ready." Shun said.

Sitting on her knees, Ahsoka sat across from Shun.
Taking a deep breath, he reached out and put one hand on her head and the other to the center of her chest.
"Uh getting a little handsy aren't we?" Ahsoka smirks.
"You trust me Ahsoka?" Shun asks.
"I do Shun." Ahsoka nods.
Closing his eyes, Shun began to concentrate and when he opened them his eyes were glowing meaning he had entered the Avatar State.
From his fingers a light flowed from his body into Ahsoka causing her eyes to glow in response.
At the Jedi Temple, Master Yoda was meditating when he sensed a powerful sensation in the Force.
Gasping he opened his eyes.
"This power…what does this mean?" Yoda said holding his chest.
In various locations of the Jedi Temple others felt the disturbance.
In the medical room, Anakin and Obi-Wan opened their eyes in confusion.
In the Jedi Council, a few of the Masters opened their eyes from mediation.
In the Jedi Archivies, Master Luminara, Barriss and a few of the Jedi studying stopped what they were doing and looked around for any sign of the source.
In an unknown location, Dooku was standing in front of a hologram of his master.
"I've sensed a disturbance in the Force." Darth Sidious said.
"As have I master. What is it?" Dooku asks.
"I do not know yet, but I sense it is powerful. Its origin is unknown but I know one thing. We cannot allow it to grow." Sidious said.
Narrowing his eyes Dooku sensed this could make things challenging.

Moving his hands Shun lets go snapping them both out of it.
"What did you do to me?" Ahsoka asks catching her breath.
"How do you feel?" Shun asks.
"I feel the same, but different." Ahsoka said looking at herself for anything wrong.
"Hold out your hand, I want you to concentrate like you're holding a ball." Shun instructs.
Holding out her right hand, Ahsoka began to concentrate and when she did air began to form around her hand until it created a ball of wind.
"Shun…w-what's happening?" Ahsoka asks speechless
"Avatar Aang learned to take away bending, Avatar Korra learned to restore bending and it looks like I just took the next big step." Shun declares.
