"Miyuki~~~~~~~!"
The young girl immediately looked out the window as soon as she heard that voice calling for her.
She grinned from ear to ear, "Candy!"
Miyuki managed to catch the flying book in her hand, but Candy climbed out and inadvertently headbutted her.
Miyuki yelped, rubbing her forehead in pain. But somehow Candy seemed completely fine, "~kuru!"
"Candy!" Miyuki pouted accusingly, but her annoyance melted away as her fairy friend cuddled with her, "Good to see you, Candy."
"Me too-kuru!" Candy beamed.
"How are your studies of being Queen coming up?" Miyuki asked.
"I'm currently learning about the geography of Märchenland-kuru."
"Is it difficult?"
"A little-kuru. Märchenland spans across a huge area and has a huge variety of creatures, as you know, and they all live in different places-kuru."
"And you even have to remember the inhabitants in the seas and the skies..."
"Yes-kuru," Candy replied, and brushed it off, "What about you, Miyuki? What are you doing-kuru?"
Miyuki moved her hand away from her desk to let Candy see for herself.
Candy's countenance brightened up as soon as she took a glance, "A picture book-kuru! You finally started making that picture book-kuru!"
"Yup," Miyuki flipped to one of the earlier pages, "Look at this."
The picture on the page was all four of the girls and Miyuki hugging Candy. It was painted with vivid colours to emphasise the bright mood.
"Don't you think you look absolutely adorable in this picture?" Miyuki caressed Candy's head softly, "I'm especially proud of this one."
"I love it-kuru!" Candy exclaimed, her eyes practically shining, "Miyuki, I—" She was interrupted when her stomach growled.
Miyuki giggled, while Candy explained, flustered, "Hehe... I had an early lunch-kuru... so it's about time I get hungry-kuru..."
"Hold on," Miyuki never stopped giggling, "I'll go get some snacks, you can have my hot chocolate in the meantime." She gestured at the mug next to the picture book.
"Okay-kuru!" Candy waved as Miyuki exited her room.
Candy walked to the warm mug and tried to drink from the edge. Alas, it tipped over because of her weight, splashing its content onto her, as well as Miyuki's picture book.
"Ahh-kuru..." Candy shook herself dry off and squeezed chocolate milk out of her ears.
That was until the little fairy realised what mess she had caused, gazing at the drenched picture book.
"O-oh no-kuru!" Candy shouted, "W-w-w-what should I do?!"
Candy rummaged through some of Miyuki's drawers and took out a handkerchief. She tried frantically to wipe the chocolate milk away from the picture book.
"This isn't working-kuru..." Alas, the liquid had already been absorbed by the papers.
"Candy?" To make matters worse, Miyuki returned to the room in the middle of Candy's attempt, "Did something happen?"
Dropping the pack of biscuits she had retrieved, Miyuki rushed to her desk, gawking at her ruined picture book.
"Sorry..." Candy whispered, jumping off the book, "I... I'm s-sorry-kuru... I s-s-spilled... spilled the c-chocolate milk-kuru..."
She squeezed the dirty handkerchief close to her chest and wept.
Miyuki extended her hands to caress Candy's head shakily, "It's... it's..."
It's not okay...
"It's okay, see?" Miyuki crouched down to let Candy see her grin, "I don't blame you."
"...really-kuru?"
"Yeah, really. So don't cry, okay? Everyone likes to see you smile."
Candy quickly wipe away her tears, "Okay-kuru!"
"Ah, that reminds me," Miyuki said, " You couldn't talk to Yayoi-chan much the last time you came because she was sick, right? She said she really misses you."
"Is that so-kuru?"
"Yup! You can't stay on Earth for long, right? Why don't you go see Yayoi-chan first? Or you may run out of time. Ah here, I'll give you the biscuits so you don't get hungry."
"You're right-kuru," Candy agreed after a little consideration, "Then, I'm off-kuru." She took the biscuits, returned to the pink book and flew outside.
"Be careful out there, Candy," Miyuki called out after her.
Then she shut her windows tight...
I'm definitely not okay with this.
There's no way anyone can be okay with this.
But... it was just a simple accident... a careless mistake... I can't blame Candy...! I just can't!
... and cried on her already soaked picture book.
