One Minute

At first, Rotbart was just stunned. Even though Apple had been threatening to do this (and much more) for the latter part of the evening, her actually kissing him was a stupefying experience. Especially since he thought that she was unconscious and he was home free. He had never expected her to spring to life like a possessed jack-in-the-box, fling her arms around his neck, pull him to her with unmaidenly force, press her lips against his, and not let go. The whole thing felt even more unreal than Rotbart's dream of marrying Apple White. Even more so because it WAS real.

But after the initial shock had passed, Rotbart inexplicably closed his eyes. For one minute.

For one minute everything was completely still. Time had stopped, and everyone and everything else in the crazy, messy, deeply complicated, and often unfair world that Rotbart knew, vanished. All that existed now was him and this other person. Him and this girl who, weirdly enough, wanted only him.

But when Apple tried to slip her tongue in Rotbart's mouth, the would-be villain immediately snapped back to his senses. He tried to pry her off but the dainty princess had a surprisingly strong grip. And when he tried to wiggle his way out of Apple's passionate embrace, Apple only moaned and started seductively chewing on his bottom lip.

Damnit! Rotbart thought desperately as she started going for his whole mouth again. Doesn't she need air?! But Apple just kept sucking his face like a contented (and oddly lascivious) infant with a pacifier.

Only one idea came to Rotbart. He didn't like it, but he'd have to do it if he didn't want to keep making out with his future nemesis. He swallowed his disgust (and his saliva) and parted his lips ever so slightly. Apple eagerly took the invitation and started tonguing him like the horny madwoman she was. Rotbart quickly popped the lid off the vial and managed to quickly jam the top of it into the corner of Apple's moving mouth. This move took Apple by completely surprise, and she promptly stopped kissing Rotbart. Rotbart took the opportunity to grab her shoulder, make her lie down again, and finish the rest of the potion.

Apple's sky blue eyes widened, rolled back into her head, and she promptly fell asleep again.

Rotbart didn't stick around to make sure that she stayed asleep this time. He ran for the window, turned into an owl, and flew off for the safety of his own room; cursing his stupidity (and Kelly's interference, and Murphy's incompetence) the whole while.

But he didn't let himself think about that one minute he enjoyed kissing Apple White.
