EDsassination #1: E is not for End, but for ED
(Tokyo, Japan - Train Station)
The sun shined brightly in Tokyo, Japan. Butterflies flutter, birds chirping, the sound of cars and trains pass by with people going on with their daily life without fail. Students coming out of their houses and apartment complex as they walked to school, boys goofing and girls gossiping, everything was peaceful for the world.
If not for the moon suddenly exploding, leaving it in a crescent form permanently. No one knows how it happened or why but one thing is for sure that it caused a global panic for the government and its leaders. But that's a mystery for another time.
By the train station, which had only a handful of people waiting for their rides, there were 4 teenage boys of American descent around the age of 15 standing by the edge of the train racks with them each carrying a leather handbag. Each of the boys had different heights, from the far left was taller than the rest, next to him to the left was at an average height if not a bit shorter than him, the third boy was the shortest of them all much to his irritation and the last was slightly taller than the second boy by a few inches and was reading the weekly Shonen Jump, covering his face.
"Do you guys think we'll see Godzilla here?" The Tall boy asked
The tall boy's name is Ed, he was the strongest of the four but least intelligent.
He has yellow skin, a light-colored tongue, ginger hair in a buzz cut, a black unibrow, and turquoise eyes. He was wearing a school uniform, consisting of gray trousers with a matching gray blazer that he left unbuttoned with lined-black edges, a white button-up shirt, and black loafers.
"How many times do I have to explain this, Ed?" The boy next to him explained. "That's only a monster created from imagination, just to make a movie."
This was Edd, most commonly known as Double D. He was the most physically weak of the four, but makes up for this with an intelligence higher than anyone around.
He wore the same uniform as Ed, but neater, with the blazer buttoned close, a black-tie tucked into the blazer, and wore his signature black ski hat with two white stripes on each side, with three black hairs that stuck out from under the hat. His skin was a desert sand-beige, a mint-green tongue, and blue-green eyes.
"This is stupid." The shortest boy, standing by Double D's left side, complained with a grumpy expression. "How come we have to wear this sucky uniform?"
This was Eddy, the self-proclaimed leader of the boys and the more short-tempered one.
He has pink skin with a lighter complexion around his blue eyes and on his eyelids, black hair that was spiked up into three points, and a green tongue. He wore the same uniform as those before him, only he didn't wear the tie and had his blazer buttoned halfway.
"Just be glad we got into the school together." The last boy on Eddy's left said, lowering down his Jump as he glanced at him. "And that it's an English speaking school."
This was Edric, the fourth member of the four.
He was a Japanese American male and was the second tallest with a thin but fit body. He had messy black hair, pale skin, red eyes, and a normal colored tongue. He wore the same uniform but he wore no tie like Eddy, his sleeves of his white dress shirt rolled up, gray trousers had cargo pockets, and wore his blazer that his only his left arm goes through his sleeve and his right half droop down over his belt with a bokuto named 'Lake Kiryu' (湖桐生) hanging from it.
However, unlike his friends, if you were to look at him for the first time, he was disturbing to stare at. This is due to two features on him. First, he has dead fish eyes since his eyes are half-lidded most of the time. Second, on top of his left forehead was a scar that looked like a graze.
"Edric's right, Eddy." Double D pitched in, being enthusiastic about going to their new school. "I must say that I'm quite excited to learn from one of the most successful schools in Japan! Not to mention we get to learn all about the culture of this great land."
"That, and our old school wouldn't let us come back after last year. We were almost forced to go to separate schools. Ungrateful teachers, couldn't they be more considerate since we're young and living life to the fullest." Edric complained about the reason they're here in Japan. Upon hearing that, Ed suddenly looked like he was about to cry.
"Life is so cruel to those seeking their fortune!" He sobbed, bailing out a fountain of tears that soaked Eddy and Edric, irritating them. Only Double D was spared when he pulled out an umbrella to put over his head from his bag.
"Cheer up, Ed." Double D placed a hand on the big Ed's shoulder after he stopped his heavy water works, he looked down at the ground with puppy eyes and quivering lips. "Let's not look back on the bad times."
"That's right, Ed. Even with all the mayhem and destruction we've caused, my parents were able to convince yours to let all of us come here." Edric said with a smile as it turned to a goofy, perverted one. "Plus, think of the Japanese girls there! There's gotta be hot and sexy girls rip for the taking and brag it back to the guys back home!"
"Edric please! Behave yourself!" Double D pleaded.
"Scar boy's right." Eddy said with a smirk, calling Edric by his nickname which he hated. "I promised you guys I was going to help turn our lives around, and that's what I'm going to do! And bring home some luxurious babes!"
"Eddy!"
That immediately turned Ed's sad attitude around as he faced his three friends and brought them into a bone-crushing hug.
"I'M IN MY HAPPY PLACE, GUYS!" Ed shouted in glee. He then dropped them on the ground, just before the terminal train arrived and stopped. The ones that were down quickly got back up, and the four stood aside to let the passengers get off, before rushing inside themselves.
"This is it boys!" Eddy exclaimed as he and Ed sat down next to each other, while Edric and Double D sat down behind them. "Second chances start now!"
Edric couldn't help but smile at his friends' enthusiasm despite all the mischief and mishaps back in the Cul-De-Sac. The Eds will always overcome any obstacles standing in their way. He sat back and continued on reading his Jump until they reached their new school.

(Then scene pans at the city of Tokyo, Japan. Edric walked in facing backwards as he turned around and gave a biggest goofiest smile. The scene changed to Kunugigaoka Junior High as pans away. Eddy and Ed came next as the two did the same thing as Edric. Then changed to the E-Class building in the mountain as it zooms closer. Double D came last as he gave his smile. The scene zooms to the classroom, in which no one was there except Koro Sensei with his arms wiggling about and giving his signature smile as the title appeared.)

EDsassination #1: E not for End, but for ED
(Kunugigaoka Junior High)
"Do you think we'll see the moon, guys?" Ed asked, looking up and scanning the sky with anticipation. The Eds were now walking down the sidewalk towards their new school after getting off the train.
"Hardly likely, Ed." Double D said, knowing why the lovable oaf wanted to see it. "I'm still baffled about how such an event is capable of taking 70% of the moon in a single blast."
"I'm wondering why we're going so early to school." Eddy grumbled before yawning, having been woken from a nap he was having on the train. "Classes don't start until over an hour."
"Because we need to know the layout of the school. The quickest ways of getting to the next room. To greet the men and women responsible for bringing us to a higher level of knowledge. The—" Double D explains before Edric stopped him by smacking him over the head.
SMACK!
"We get it, Double D. No need to explain all that formal crap. Geez, when are you going to learn that we don't share your same liking for learning?" He said, annoyed. Thus making Double D blushed in embarrassment.
"I found it, guys!" Ed shouted out, bringing their attention forward.
They were amazed to find a huge building with a spacious campus that was reminiscent of a small college campus. All around the building, a few students were walking into the building. The male students were dressed in the required uniforms, like the Eds and Eric, and the female students were wearing gray skirts of various sizes with black-lined edges in place of the trousers.
"Whoa." Eddy said with wide eyes.
"Nice." Edric nodded in agreement.
"Ketchup." Ed said, being the simpleton he is.
"Oh! This is going to be grand!" Double D exclaimed with joy and excitement. "It's like you said, Eddy, our lives are sure to turn around. Shall we?"
He then jogged, if only he could run, towards the entrance. Eddy and Edric stayed behind with unimpressed expressions at Double D's interest for learning, while Ed was dancing on his feet with some excitement of his own.
"Best not keep Double D waiting long knowing him." Edric said as he followed Double D inside.
"Fine." Eddy grumpily followed close behind, leaving Ed there in his 'happy place'.
Double D opened the doors and felt as though he'd gone to heaven when he saw the clean floors, the flawless interior, and anything that he could see was spectacular in his image.
"Isn't it absolutely wonderful, gentlemen?" He asked when Edric and Eddy walked up to his sides. They were also impressed by what they were seeing but weren't going to admit it to their brainy friend.
"Let's get this over with." Edric sighed before he and Eddy attempted to take a step forward, only for Double D to block their path with an extended arm.
"Hold it!" He shouted at them.
"What the hell is it?" Edric demanded with annoyance. Double D then pointed to a wet floor sign in front of them. The way that it shined the light and had suds of soap, meaning that the floor was just recently mopped.
"Oh come on, sockhead!" Eddy complained, equally annoyed. "It's just a stupid sign."
"Do we need a recap of the last time we broke the rules, Eddy?" Double D scolded them. "We'll have to find another way inside. Maybe another entrance."
"Yeah, like that's going to happen." Edric scoffed.
"BUTTER TOAST!"
The three Eds didn't have time to escape when they heard the big Ed as he ran into them, forcing them onto the extremely wet floor.
SCREECH!
"AAAAHHHHH!"
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
The three screamed while Ed laughed, as they found themselves sliding down the hall at breakneck speeds. Students in the hallway quickly got out of the path of the human bullets as the Eds left a trail of fire behind them.
"Double D, do something!" Eddy screamed as he, Double D, and Edric clenched onto Ed, as he was the one sliding down the hallway on his feet.
"An object in motion stays in motion!" Double exclaimed, keeping a hand on his hat to make it didn't fall off. "We have to either ram into a wall or let Ed slow down!"
"Edric, use that wooden sword of yours and stop this crazy thing!" Eddy shouted in panic.
"Don't have to tell me twice!" Edric took out Lake Kiryu and stabbed it onto the floor in front of Ed attempting to slow them down, only for his sword to be caught on fire too. "AH!"
Edric shook the fire off of Lake Kiryu and looked forward before he panicked when he saw what was in front of them. In his sight, it was a large glass case display with many trophies and rewards the school accomplished.
"Look out!" He shouted, as he reattempts to slow Ed down.
The two Eds stared at it with widening eyes, knowing full well what's about to happen to them. Eddy grabbed Ed's blazer collar and shook it really fast that Ed's head went blurred.
"Ed! Stop yourself, wil'ya!" He yelled into his face, not wanting what was about to happen to come about.
However, Ed's smiling face only brightened when he saw something in the glass case display. A trophy that had a falcon on top of it. Now anyone would see that and know that it was a falcon or some kind of bird-of-prey but not to Ed.
"CH-CH-CH-CH-CHICKEN!" He yelled out loud in pure joy and excitement for his favorite animal in the world.
"Not a chicken, Ed! Not a chicken!" Edric exclaimed as Ed held his arms out like he was going to hug someone. He knew full well that when Ed sees a chicken, there's nothing going to stop him.
"Stop, Ed!" The three of them shouted as they got closer to the display. "Stop! STOP!"
WA-BAM!
(Later)
After Ed crashed the trophy, the Eds were now walking up a 1-kilometer muddy trail that led up a mountain, each carrying a yellow piece of paper. Their uniforms were tattered and torn in various places. There were a few bruises and cuts on their bodies from the impact against the glass case display.
Eddy was walking with his back hunched, his arms hanging down, and a sour expression on his face. Edric was behind him, walking straighter, with his hands in the pockets of his trousers, with a bored expression, even with his dead fish eyes becoming more dead-like. Ed was the happiest one, as he was holding the falcon piece for that one trophy and petting it while making kissy noises at it. Double D, however, was unusually silent, with wide eyes and his body trembling.
"Ya' know, I'm starting to see a pattern in our lives." Eddy said before pulling out a shard of glass from his head, commenting on how their lives seemed to be nothing more than an endless cycle of slapstick.
"I was expecting some more. Whenever we do something bad or destructive, it ends up being a week to a month worth of detention." Edric said, dusting off his arms. He looked at the paper they were given with a raised eyebrow. "But all we got is being sent to a homeroom in the mountains, instead of being expelled and sent back home."
"What, and ruin the plot?" Eddy rhetorically said.
"I love stories, Eddy." Ed said, before a rock slammed into his face, leaving a purple mark on his face.
"Way to go, lumpy!" Eddy yelled angrily after he and Eric stopped and turned towards him. "Our first day here, and you had to ram into the trophy case!"
"Do you expect anything less from Ed, Eddy?" Eric said to him, scratching the back of his head. "How were we supposed to know that case would be there? A minor setback, we still have a chance to pass this year."
"You two just don't get it, do you?"
Ed, Eddy, and Edric turned around and saw Double D just standing there, seemingly paralyzed with a frozen blank expression. Eddy and Edric looked at each other, confused by their smart friend's attitude compared to this morning. They were half expecting him to be ranting on about how they were being sent up a muddy trail into the mountains and how much damage they caused. But he wasn't.
He was just silent.
"Oi, Double D?" Edric asked, poking his cheek. They could almost hear the sound of shrieking steam before Double D finally snapped out of it and jumped up.
"This isn't just a minor setback, Edric!" He screamed out loud hysterically, waving his arms in midair and fast walking around the other Eds and Eric in a circle. "It's the end of the road! Oh, why didn't I take this into consideration? That one day our rotten, appalling, awful luck would come back to haunt us!"
BLAM!
He stopped when Edric grabbed him by his left shoulder and punched him hard across the face, leaving a red mark on his cheek.
"Knock it off, Sockhead!" He exclaimed with white eyes and a snarl. "You're scaring Ed!"
He pointed to said Ed boy, who was hiding behind Eddy with a frightened look on his face. After a few seconds to calm down for a moment, Double D looked back at Edric.
"You don't understand, Edric." He said anxiously. "The school just sent us all the way to E-Class!"
"Yeah, it's a long way to go but what choice do we have?" Eddy asked as he and the other two just looked at him with confusion.
"No, Eddy!" Double moved around Edric and approached him. "This isn't just some secluded run-of-the-mill class, this is the lowest class in all of Kunugigaoka Junior High School's caste system. It's called E because it stands for 'End Class'. It's where students who either failed to keep their grades up or have broken school regulations are sent. Once you're sent there, there's no hope for a good education. Face it, gentlemen, our futures are gone!"
He began to sob when he finished his explanation as Ed, when his tiny brain started turning its gears, started to panic.
"Oh no, our future?!" He started to run around as if he had lost one of his toys. "Say it ain't so?!"
"I can't believe this!" Eddy exclaimed as he started to get angry with tears leaking out of his eyes.
He was hoping this could be their big break. He really wanted to become a better student, but in the end, his life screwed him over. Again!
Standing only a few feet from his best friends, Edric could only watch with disbelief, before starting to get upset then straight to annoyed. However, it wasn't because he was going to a place where there was no chance of passing. It's because his friends were giving up just so easily that it frustrated him to the max! Not if he say about it!
"Fine!" He yelled, making them stop whatever they were doing to look at him. "If you guys want to give up on this then go ahead! But I'm not going down without a fight!"
"But Edric-" Double D attempted to reason with his friend, only for him to be interrupted.
"No buts, I don't swing that way!" Edric retorted, he took a few deep breaths to calm himself before continuing. "So what if we've been sent to a classroom for outcasts? We've always been outcasts."
He points to Ed.
"Ed with his mental retardation."
He moved his finger to Double D.
"You with your vast vocabulary and high-level smarts, not to mention your OCD."
Then to Eddy.
"And you for your greed, scams, and narcissism."
Then to himself.
"And me because of this scar and these dead fish eyes of mine. This isn't anything new. The school may be against us, but together, we can take on the world. That's my samurai way, that's the Yorozuya Ed's way, so what do you say guys?" Edric finished.
The Eds stood in silence by Edric's speech for a moment. But he has a point, despites the odds against them, they would always overcome it together as the Yorozuya Eds. Then Ed answers his question by giving him a cheery, bone-crushing hug.
"The Yorozuya Eds will take over the world like the Mutants for the Planet of Potatoes!" He exclaimed with glee in his own Ed way.
"You're right." Eddy said with a confident grin. "Let's show those jerks that you don't screw with us!"
Even Double D was going to join in on the celebration when his head told him to check the time. Rolling up his left sleeve to look at his watch, he panicked when he saw that there were only fifteen minutes left before the first bell.
"We better get moving or we'll be late for class, gentleman!" He told them. Eddy and Edric groaned as they walked past him with a bored expression.
"Oh right, school." Eddy groaned along with Edric.
He may want to be a better student, but that doesn't mean he doesn't still hate school. Edric just wanted to get the day over with and read his Jump, while also wondering how it was all going to go.
"Stinky butt! Stinky butt! Stinky butt!" Ed sang as he skipped his way up the mountain, shaking his butt left and right.
Double D stood there for a moment, watching them go, before sighing with a small smile.
"Some things never change, I guess." He muttered as he followed them to their new classroom.
The Yorozuya Eds made it to the top of the mountain as they witnessed what would be their new classroom. It looked like a run of a mill old rectangular building with several places on the roof boarded up and glass windows on both sides from the entrance to the side of the building. Two white poles in front of the building and a small shed to the left while a small outhouse to the right. And a lot of weeds surrounded the building as if it had never tended for a long time. Edric sighed at the sight of it and turned to the three Eds.
"Not what we expected but it's a start." Edric said as they nodded slightly.
He faced his attention to the building and began walking towards it as the remaining Eds followed.
(Class 3-E)
The students of Class 3-E sat in silence and anticipation. Their heads down with safety glasses covering their eyes, as the air hanging above their heads, was enough to make your heart beat faster.
The classroom they were in was a simple one, with a blackboard and the desks they were sitting in. There was a small faculty lounge down the hall. The building had no air conditioning and had various places in the ceiling where there were leaks dripping.
In other words, this was truly a place for failures.
GACHA!
Then the sound of the classroom doors opening was heard before them, thus confusing them. They were expecting for a booming sound to come in first before the doors opened.
"Where the hell is it?" Said an unfamiliar, annoyed voice.
"There's only one classroom, so it shouldn't be that hard to find." A more pleasant voice said.
The students turned their heads towards the wall to their left, which had a window that extended from the end of it to the sliding door. The window had its blinds down and closed, so when they saw four figures of various heights walking down the hall, all the students saw were their silhouettes.
"This must be it." Said the second tallest person. They stopped in front of the door.
"Allow me." Said one of them.
BLAM!
Suddenly the person opened it with such an incredible and an untamable amount of force that he damaged the door frame, startling the students.
"Ding-dong! I am Ed!" Ed exclaimed before walking into the room with a grin.
Eddy poked his head inside and looked at the damaged door before laughing up a storm at Ed's antics.
"Who needs a key when you're here, Ed." He laughed, walking behind him.
Double D's hands were on his head as he walked back into the room, staring at the damage done.
"For heaven sakes." He said with dread. "Can't you go a day without having your brute strength to demolish everything you touch, Ed?"
Edric then entered the room but stopped just before the doorway.
"He'll do that when pigs fly, Double D." He joked, showing his dead fish to the class, startling them a bit, before turning and shutting the door.
He felt his heart jump when he heard a few girls gasping, causing him to look at them. Almost all the students were staring at him in shock, surprise, or fear from most of the girls.
"What?" Edric raised his eyebrow at them.
"Uh, Edric." Double D leaned towards him, and whispered to him. "Your scar."
Edric immediately knew what he meant. This was what he feared would happen, that his scar would prevent him from fitting in with others, like when he came to the Cul-De-Sac.
"Oh, right." He groaned with a frown and just walked over to stand next to his friends in front of the class.
Silence returned to the room as the student stared at them with white eyes and some sweat on their faces.
'Who the hell are these weirdos?' The students thought.
Eddy then took notice of the fact that they had nowhere to sit, seeing that most of the desks were occupied.
"Where the hell do we sit?" He asked. The other three looked around to find empty seats but no luck.
"It seems that the teacher must not have been informed of our arrival." Double D deducted.
"Don't worry, guys. For I, Ed, will lead by existence." Ed said before walking down towards the back of the room.
When he reached his destination, he turned around, leaped off his feet, crossed his legs in midair, and landed on his butt hard enough to leave a crack in the wood floor, shocking the other students.
"You mean 'example', Ed." Double D corrected him and quickly walked over to him.
Double D didn't like being in the back of the room, he preferred to be more upfront to gain more knowledge but without the chairs it wasn't going to happen just yet. Eddy just shrugged and followed with Edric being the last one to go to the back. As he did, Edric couldn't help but feel as though more eyes were on him than the Eds. It's something he was used to but still felt very uncomfortable with, making him cover his scar with his left hand as he headed for the back.
However, as he walked down the alley of desks, he looked to his left and stared down at one of the students for a brief second. The person was a girl with a petite-frame, blue-haired done in two ponytails, and azure eyes, Nagisa Shiota. To his confusion, she was wearing the male uniform but with a blue waist coat.
The two looked at one another for about a second before Edric looked away, knowing she was paying a great deal of attention to his scar. When he reached his friends, Edric leaned against the wall with Eddy sat against it and Double D sitting on the floor in front of them, next to Ed, laying out all his school supplies neatly on the wood floor.
He took out his Jump magazine to read before class started. When he looked up from his book, he noticed that the rest of the students wore safety glasses, much to his confusion.
WHOOSH!
Then suddenly, there was a booming sound from outside as it startled the Eds quite a bit. The other students weren't surprised at all by the sound. Eddy got up and went to the window to look outside but saw nothing.
"What the hell was that?" He asked.
"Seems that a jet of some kind was close to the ground when it broke the sound barrier." Double D said, knowing the sound of the jet's engine would have stayed around much louder than that.
"No." Nagisa said without looking at the Eds, gaining their attention. "He's here."
The other student looked towards the door and waited nervously for something, which got the Eds worried a bit. The door opened, catching the four transferred students' attention and were shocked beyond belief at what entered the classroom.
A yellow limb that resembled a feeler with two fingers placed an attendance book on the desk.
"Alright people." Said the owner of the feeler, and it was unlike anything the Eds had ever seen.
Its appearance was close to a yellow bipedal octopus about three meters tall and possessed a large, bulbous head with a large smile and small, beady eyes. Along with its two feelers as arms, the creature had many tentacles that it used to stand up. It wore a yellow tassel and a large black tie with a yellow crescent-shaped moon on it.
"Let's get started, shall we? Class Monitor, if you do the honors."
The same girl that Edric looked at pecked her head up a bit.
"Right! Ready!" She said as the rest of the students suddenly stood up, with either AR-15 assault rifles or M1911 pistols aimed right at the yellow creature. The Eds watched the scene with eyes bulging out of their sockets, absolutely surprised and frightened by what they were seeing.
"The hell?" Edric muttered.
"Class party!" Ed cheered with a big grin.
"Aim!" The blue-haired girl continued her command, as the creature just stood there and smiled at them. She gulped. "FIRE!"
After that, everyone with a weapon fired on the creature. However, hundreds of bullets flew at it, hundreds of pink BB pellets to be exact shot out of the barrels as it hurtled towards the being. Just before the pellets could even touch it, the creature disappeared as the BB's hit the blackboard behind it, bouncing off it before falling to the floor.
However, it didn't disappear. As the Eds and Eric stared at the front, they could see that the strange octopus-like entity was moving side to side and such an incredibly high rate of speed that it left afterimages of itself in a few places at the front of the room, and with none of the pellets being able to hit him.
"Oh! Oh my!" The creature said as it dodged the pellets with ease. "Well, why don't I just call roll while you children wear yourselves out? Isogai?"
"Here." One of the male students replied over the gunfire.
"What's that? I'm afraid I couldn't make it out over all the gunfire." The octopus said, it didn't catch his voice from the sound of the gun shooting.
"Here!"
"Okajima?"
"Here!"
"Okuda?"
"Here!"
"Kataoka?"
"Here!"
"Kayano?"
"Here!"
"Kanzaki?"
"Here!"
"What's with this crazy class!?" Edric exclaimed as he, Eddy, and Double D were lying on their stomachs with their hand over their heads. Ed was simply standing there and smiling, entrained by the battle before him.
"Neat-O!" Ed shouted in glee.
"Ed, keep your head down!" Eddy got on his knees and pulled Ed down to the ground with them by his blazer. With the simple minded Ed laying on the ground with his friends, Eddy turned his head towards Edric and Double D. "You know, maybe this was a bad idea after all."
"Great, let's just wait until it's over and then…" Edric stopped his own sentence when he looked up and saw the yellow creature appearing in and out in front of them, looking down at the boys.
"Hi, there!" The octopus waved at the Eds.
The Eds stared up at it, as pink pellets were now flying over their heads. About three seconds later, the four boys screamed in terror.
"AAAAAHHHH!"
"I see that you four aren't from around here, and yet wore school uniforms." The octopus-like creature said. "Please explain."
"W-We're the transfer students from America." Edric replied nervously, as he and the Eds hugged each other out of fear for their lives. He knew they were in it now and with the speed this entity was traveling at, they weren't going to get away that easily. Hell, he wouldn't know if he can take it straight on with Lake Kiryu with the BB flying at the octopus.
They're trapped.
"WE ARE SORRY, ALIEN OCTOPUS MUTANT FROM THE PLANET OF SHRIMP!" Ed cried before getting on his knees and bowing to it. "We didn't mean to stumble upon your nest and break your loyal servants of your mind control! Let us go and we'll never tell a soul and let you rule the world!"
The students stared at Ed in disbelief, while shooting at the yellow octopus.
'Is this guy for real!?' The students shouted in thought.
"You quite the imaginative one, aren't you?" The octopus said, mused by Ed's retort. "But I'll have you know that as your teacher, I'm not an 'Alien Octopus Mutant' as you call me."
That got the other Eds to stop trembling and their expression to change to confusion and shock.
"Teacher?" They questioned simultaneously. Then Ed raised his head off the floor, with a blank look.
"Oh, there it goes. My brain stopped." Ed stated.
"Excuse me!" The octopus called over its shoulder at the shooting students. "Could you all please stop for a moment so I can talk to these boys, please?"
The kids obeyed and ceased firing. Lowing their guns, the students pant lightly from the constant shooting and failed attempts to hit their target. The octopus stopped moving and stood before the Eds.
"That's better." He turned his attention back to the Cul-De-Sac boys, who cautiously stood up. "Now then, if you're new students, why wasn't I informed of this?"
"Well." Double D spoke up, not sure how to handle the fact that their new teacher was an octopus-like being. But nevertheless, it was still a teacher at their new school. "We were the cause of some…collateral damage, so to speak."
"Yeah, uh…" Edric pulled out the piece of paper given to them by the main school building. "They told us to give the teacher these, if there were any."
The Eds pulled out their papers and presented them to the teacher. The teacher grabbed the papers with the assistance of two more tentacles, freaking the boys out more, and started looking at them.
"Hmm…Oh my. I see." It looked back at the four boys. "You four certainly have got yourself in quite the pickle."
"How were we supposed to know that stupid trophy case would be there!?" Eddy asked, throwing his hands up.
"Yes, well, let's put that behind us. Welcome to E-Class, boys." It then moved to the right to show them to the other E-Class students, who were still holding their airsoft gun. "Everyone, please put away your guns and give your undivided attention to your new fellow students."
The students obeyed, putting their guns either on their desk or tucked them in their pants. They then stood to stand on the side of their desks and stared directly at the four transferred boys.
"Go ahead and introduce yourselves." It told them.
"Ooh! Ooh! I know!" Ed exclaimed happily, taking a step forward. "I am Ed, and I love chickens and gravy!"
The students gave him a confused expression but didn't question it. Double D smiled happily and took a step forward too.
"Greetings, fellow students! I'm so excited to be learning alongside all of you. My name is Edd too but spelled with two D's instead of one, so it'd be best if you'd called me Double D. I enjoy the mind filling sensation of knowledge. The joys of discovery. And—"
"Get on with it!" Eddy and Edric complained, having enough of listening to their friend's ongoing love of learning. Double D blushed in embarrassment when he realized he got carried away.
"Oops. Sorry about that." He chuckled nervously as he stepped back, which allowed Eddy to step forward with a confident grin.
"S'up everyone." He greeted them with the confidence he developed after their quest to find his brother, an adventure that Edric called their 'Big Picture Show'. "The name's Eddy—AHH!"
He didn't even finish his sentence when Ed pulled him and Double D into a hug, lifting them off their feet.
"And together, we are the Yorozuya Eds!" He proclaimed with a big happy grin, crushing the life out of his friends.
"Ed." Edric said, standing a few feet from them. "I didn't even get to introduce myself yet."
"…What?"
Edric sighed at his idiotic friend and looked at the other kids. He knew that their attention was drawn to his scar, but he pushed the unnerving feeling away from his thoughts and cleared his throat. But before he could introduce himself, the door opened and someone else came in.
The person was a dashing young man around the age of 28 with spiky black hair and eyebrows and piercing dark eyes. He was tall and dressed professionally in a black business suit with a white shirt and a black tie. The man looked around the room for a moment before spotting the Eds. He then fast-walked towards them, approaching them. Stopping a few feet from them, he looked down at them with a piercing stern stare.
"Are you four Ed, 'Double D', Eddy, and Edric?" The man asked.
"Who are you?" Edric asked, crossing his arms with a raised brow.
"I'll need the four of you to come with me for a moment." He said, ignoring Edric's question.
"Oh come! What did we do now!?" Eddy exclaimed in annoyance. "We already said we're sorry for destroying that stupid trophy case and your rewards! What else could we have done wrong!?"
The E-Class student stared at them with wide eyes. Did they destroy the trophy case of Kunugigaoka Junior High School? That explains so much why they're sent here.
"It…has nothing to do with that," The man said, taken a little back by their mentioned action. "It's about your enrollment in this class. Trust me, it's of the utmost importance."
The boys stared at him for a moment before Edric shrugged his shoulders.
"At least we get to get out of class for a few minutes." He comments as he and his friends followed the man out of the room and walked down the hall to another room, the faculty lounge.
(Class 3-E: Faculty lounge)
Once they entered the room, the man closed and locked the door behind them.
"I have to say, I feel sorry for you four." He said, walking around them to stand in front of them, leaning back on an office desk. "Having just come to the country and been accepted into one of the highest-rated schools, only to have one accident push you into the pavement."
"Unfortunately, it's not the first time we had a downfall." Double D replied.
"Allow me to fully introduce myself. I'm Karasuma, and I'm from the Ministry of Defense." Karasuma introduced himself.
"Huh?" Edric said in confusion,
"Right, and I'm King of the World." Eddy said sarcastically, obviously not believing him.
"I understand that you boys find this far-fetched, but I'd like for you to understand that what I'm about to tell you four is classified government information." He took a deep breath. "Ah hell, I'll just come out with it. That thing's your teacher, he's the one who blew up the moon."
The Eds eyes bulged out of their sockets upon hearing that bombshell.
"And he plans on doing the same thing to Earth next year. You and your fellow classmates have a mission: I want you to kill that monster, for the sake of mankind." He tells them.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
There was nothing but absolute silence in the room, Edric and his friends took in the information given to them as it sank into their heads. Edric felt shocked and somewhat doubtful of it all, despite seeing the octopus in action. Double D seemed to be taking it a little more seriously, but he was very doubtful about it all too. Ed was probably excited to fight the monster. But for Eddy, he burst into laughter. Holding his stomach, he fell over on his back and kicked his feet in his state of laughter. Ed follows his example and toppled onto Eddy, knocking the air out of him. While the bigger Ed boy laughed, the shortest one attempted to push him off.
"Get off of me, Ed!" Eddy yelled.
Edric turned his attention from his friends towards Karasuma, who glared at the two, greatly annoyed by their antics.
"You're kidding, right?" Edric asked, a bit of sweat dripped from his face. "Please tell me that you're joking?"
"I'd have to agree with my companions." Double D said. "As brutally honest as they act, you cannot really expect us to believe that the teacher in that room, while very strange and unusual, is the one responsible for demolishing such a huge mass of the moon's surface?"
"I'm afraid I'm not at liberty to discuss anything in particular but do know that it's the truth." Karasuma stated. "That creature's threat is all too real. As of this coming March, he will obliterate planet Earth."
"… Cool." Ed simply said.
"No Ed, not cool! We live on Earth!" Edric told him as Ed took a minute for his gear to start turning in that little brain of his to connect the dots.
"Oh."
"Honestly…" Edric sighed before turning to Karasuma. "Do those governments bastards of the world know about this?"
"Yes. The world leaders are the only people who know about this, apart from you four and your classmates, and myself. If word of this gets out to the public, we'll have a widespread panic on our hands. You must terminate him soon, and with extreme prejudice." He reached into his suit and pulled out what appeared to be a green combat knife. "Which means you must become assassins."
This greatly shocked the Eds, sure they've done crazy things in the past but it was something they never have to do. They've never killed anyone before, heck, Edric got into fights before. Greatly injured people in the Cul-De-Sac and caused thousands of dollars of property damage, but never took another person's life. And the fate of the world in their hands, how could they not feel overwhelmed by the circumstances they're got into now.
"As you must have seen, he's incredibly fast. So fast, that when you try and fail to kill him, you would've had your eyebrows trimmed by him. Immaculately, even." Karasuma explains the octopus's abilities.
"Uh…okay?" Double D, his encyclopedia of a brain not even sure how to put the right words together.
"He's a super being so powerful, he can obliterate half of the moon in seconds. So fast, he's been clocked at Mach 20. In other words, if this guy were to seriously run freely without consequences, we would be helpless until the day of our destruction." He adds more about their teacher.
"Then why the hell is he here, then?" Edric asked, finding the task given to them almost impossible with a target like that thing. "Why at some backwater school building like this?"
"He made the world leaders an offer." Karasuma stated, before sounding annoyed. "Stop making fools of ourselves and let him teach here, at Class 3-E."
"Seriously?" The Eds asked doubtfully.
"We didn't have much of a choice. We have no idea what his motives are. In the end, the Japanese government reluctantly agreed, under the condition that he causes no harm to you four or the other students. The advantage is twofold. On the one hand, we'll know his whereabouts, a good portion of every weekday, which is something. On the other hand,he'll be in close range to 34 people, including your four, with the means and incentive to kill him." Karasuma explained to the Eds.
There were so many questions going through Edric's head. Why did this thing want to be the teacher? How were they going to kill him when he travels faster than a missile? He was about to ask when Eddy beat him to the punch.
"Hold it! Hold it! Hold it! So what do we get out of this, huh? We came here to finish junior high together, without being separated, and now you want us to kill the octopus?!" He demanded, then put on his signature greedy grin. He may have wanted to be a better person but he couldn't let old habits die too quickly, right. "Come on, the fate of the world has to be worth something."
"Eddy!" Double D scolded him with a hand on the side of his head. "You can't seriously be thinking of profiting off of this."
"Huh…Eddy makes a good point, doing something like this for the world's sake must be worth something to appreciate our service." Edric pointed out.
"Edric!?"
Karasuma was silent for a moment before speaking.
"Okay, I'll play your game." He said, putting the knife down on the desk. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a yen coin. "This is a yen coin. The currency money in Japan. It's practically worthless in the US, but if you are successful in your assassination attempt, we can convert the reward for success from our currency to U.S. dollars. Out of it, you'll be rewarded a total of about 126 million dollars."
Eddy's closed eyes snapped open, with big green dollar signs on them while Double D and Edric snapped their heads towards Karasuma with widened eyes of shock. Eddy then started to giggle as he body trembled, chattering his teeth with pure excitement, bringing the other two boys' attention back to him.
"Oh my god." Edric said before looking at Karasuma again with a panicked expression as if a siren warning of a nuclear threat was going off. "Do you have any idea what you've just done?! I mean sure, with that kind of money we'll be set for life! Think how much sweets I can eat and anything I want!"
"Eddy, Edric please! Calm yourselves!" Double D pleaded with his two friends. "Get a grip, you two!"
"Eddy and Edric should eat more vegetables." Ed suggested.
"Eddy!" Edric snapped out of it as he grabbed him by the shoulder and shook him, trying to get him to snap out of it before his greed overtook his rational thoughts. "Eddy! Can you hear me?!"
(Back in the classroom)
PEW!
A girl with long straight blond and green eyes and wearing an assigned yellow sweater, Rio Nakamura, shoots her M1911 airsoft gun at the teacher. However, the yellow being caught the pink pellet with a pair of white chalks.
"Nakamura!" His head turned red, showing he was angry. "I distinctly remember saying no guns discharging in the classroom!."
"I know…." She said with a hand on her head.
"Back row, young lady. Think about what you've—"
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!"
The sudden yell startled everyone in the classroom. Then there was the sound of running footsteps coming towards the room before the door slid open to reveal Eddy with a baseball bat.
"BANZAI!" He yelled with the bat raised over his head, before rushing at the teacher. He jumped at him, but the octopus used his mach 20 speed to move to the side, letting Eddy sail past him and collide into the wall.
CRASH!
The other students stared bewilderingly at Eddy, whose head was stuck in the wall, as he tried to pull himself out while yelling in a muffled voice. Ed and Double D rushed into the classroom and stopped when they spotted their friend in the wall.
"I'll help!" Ed proclaimed before running over to free Eddy.
"I take it that Mr. Karasuma has explained the whole 'killing me' plan." It asked the calmer boys.
"It's more like he explained it and our greedy fellow wanted a reward." Double D said, pointing at Ed as he pulled Eddy out by his feet and held him up. The leader of the small group had his face all bruised up, with a bit of the wooden wall around his neck. "Once Mr. Karasuma told us the reward money in American currency, it was all he needed to hear."
"A feisty fellow, huh? I like that." He then pointed at Eddy with his fingers, then reached over and took the bat away from Eddy thus snapping him out of his painful daze. "But it's a shame you couldn't land a hit on me, too. Just like your classmates' previous attempt to kill me, where they all fire on me at the same time, charging at me with a weapon that'll not harm me will not be how you get your money. Most of all, it wasn't much of an assassination attempt, more like being a monkey on steroids. You'll need to think outside the box for a target that travels at Mach 20. And the right tools for the job."
He then reached into his desk and brought out an AR-15, M1911, and green knife with his tentacles.
"Awesome!" Ed threw Eddy away, causing the wood around his neck to break apart before three of the tentacles handed him the three weapons. Ed took them all with an excited grin. "Now I can protect the Earth from the Octo Alien!"
"A-bah-bah-bah-bah! I'm not an alien! I am an Earthling born and bred, thank you very much!" He exclaimed angrily with steam coming out of his head.
Recomposing himself, he reached down and pulled out the same weapons and dumped them into Double D's arms, who struggled to keep them together and ended up falling over, causing some students to laugh. Then he noticed that there were three Eds in the room.
"Say, weren't there the four of you?" The octopus asked, the Eds looked around and realized that Edric was not with them.
"Strange, where could Edric be?" Double D asked.
"Dunno, bathroom?" Eddy said in question.
The octopus turned to the door as it was about to come closer, only for Edric to come from the door in breakneck speed and quickly drew Lake Kiryu. But the Octopus moved away before Edric quickly grabbed the knife from Double D and attempted to stab it. Edric quickly swung his bokuten and knife at the octopus only to miss its mark while he could barely keep up with it. He glanced at the leftover BB on the floor and came up with something up on the fly.
He threw the knife at it as the octopus as it moved quickly right before Edrice grabbed a bunch of BB on the floor and threw it around him. When he sees his teacher in his sights, he quickly swings his bokuten as it sends the BBs towards it like a bullet. The BBs were getting closer to it until he noticed his bokuten was nowhere in his hands.
"That was impressive." Edric turned around to see the teacher back at his desk with his Bokuten. The octopus looked at him with that same face. "And quite a swordsmanship to the boot, you must've practiced with this wooden sword a lot. The way to use those Anti-Me BBs was top notch thinking you've come up with and look…"
The octopus lifts up his right feeler with one of its fingers missing, shocking the entire class and the three Eds. Mostly Edric, he was surprised that his plan actually worked even if it was a finger.
"Quick on your feet and good tuition. Even so, it's not enough to kill me yet. Nur Fufufufufufu…" The octopus laughed, then he handed Edric his bokuten along his set of weapons. He then placed Eddy's weapons on his lap, as he was sitting down. "These weapons that I'm giving you are issued by the Japanese government to be used against me."
"These knives are specially made for damaging me. And for your airsoft rifles and pistols there are normal airsoft guns, but you'll be using these specially made Anti-Me BBs that are harmless to you but are fatal to me." He showed off the knife before he then brought out plastic bottles that were filled with the same pink pellets that the students fired. He then hands them to the four boys. "Don't worry, you'll be supplied with more. This is just to start you off."
Eddy took his bottle and stared at it critically, before looking at his given knife. He touched the blade, but it didn't cut him, before bending the blade. It wasn't even a real knife.
"Is this some kind of joke?" He demanded. "Because I ain't laughing!"
"I'd have to agree with him." Said a fairy tallboy, maybe about the same height as Edric, with orange-brown hair and eyes, wearing a yellow sweater, Hiroto Maehara. "And there was no way you dodged that hail of pellets!"
"He's got a point." Said a normal-looking boy, with the generic short, spiked black hair for some male shōnen characters, dark blue eyes, wearing only the white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a black tie, and a wrist sweatband on each arm, Tomohito Sugino. "When you look at them, they're only average BBs. For all we know, you just took them like a champ."
The other students voiced their agreement as the teacher was silent for a moment. He sighed.
"Okano." He called for a girl who had short brown hair and brown eyes in the front row. "If you would please hand me your gun?"
Okano complied and held out her M1911, and the teacher took it from her, as the Eds and Eric gave him their full attention.
"As I said, they're Anti-Me BBs." He raised his right arm and pointed the gun at it. "Harmless to you, but…"
BAM!
He fired, and his arm was blown straight off, with yellow liquid splatting like blood. Almost every one of the students gasped in shock and horror.
"Holy shit!" Edric exclaimed with a freaked-out expression, dropping all his weapons besides his bokuto.
"Oh shit!" Eddy exclaimed with equal shock.
"It's still alive!" Ed pointed at the severed arm, as it wiggled violently on the floor.
"Sir, are you alright?" Double D asked the teacher worriedly, as liquid spewed out of his severed area.
"I'm quite alright, Double D." The teacher replied. "But as you can see, those bullets are specially developed by this country for use against me. Able to split my cells like a knife through warm tofu. Of course, after a few seconds, I can regenerate as good as new."
After saying that, a new arm popped out of the severed area. "A luxury you wouldn't have if you shoot your eye out. So just like I told the others, no discharging firearms in the classroom, safety first."
Suddenly a bunch of green stripes appeared going around his head. "And good luck trying to kill me before graduation. You're gonna need it."
"As you can see by the green stripes." Karasuma said, leaning against the door frame, drawing everyone's attention to him. "Indicates he's feeling superior, he doesn't believe you can do it. Use that to your advantage to take him down."
"Quite bizarre." Double D commented.
"It's only natural for me to think so." The teacher said. "There's no way all of you will be able to kill me when the government can't. When they attacked me with state-of-the-art fighter jets, I gave them midair waxing instead."
"Great, another Double D clean-freak." Eddy grumbled, making one of the girls giggle.
"You're going to have to strike if the opportunity presents itself." Karasuma stated. "This must be kept a secret from your family and friends. The clock is ticking. If the Earth disappears, there will be nowhere to run."
The Eds glanced at one another anxiously.
"And now that you four understand everything happening in this classroom." The octopus-like creature said in a cheery tone. "Let's spend your final year a productive one!"
(Time Skip)
The teacher was now writing out a sentence from a book he was holding on the blackboard. With his back facing them, the students stared at him, waiting for him to move so they could write down the sentence. The Eds were placed in the second row of desks, making the four of the students originally seated move back into the third row, causing those in the back row to move into new seats, creating an even number of rows and columns of desks. Eddy was seated next to the blue-haired girl, tapping his heel on the floor as he waited impatiently. Double D was on his right, finding himself adjusting and readjust his school materials on his desk. Edric was next to him, his right cheek resting on his fist with a bored expression as Lake Kiryu rested against his desk. To his right, and the last desk in the row was Ed, who was sitting still with a happy smile and his tongue sticking.
DING-DONG! DING-DONG!
A few seconds later, the school bell rang.
"Oh? It's lunchtime, everybody." The teacher said, before going over to the window and opening it. "Excuse me while I hop over to China for a quick bite. You have my cell number, any killers feeling especially trigger-happy today are welcome to hit me up."
WHOOSH!
He suddenly disappeared and a blast of wind hit the students, forcing them to put up their arms to protect themselves.
"Great, now he can fly." Eddy said, sarcastically. Then all the students turned their heads towards Eds with uncomfortable silence filled the classroom as they stared at them with curiosity. "What?"
"So you guys are from America, huh?" Isogai asked.
"Yes, we are." Double D answered with a smile, happy they were starting to talk to them. "We come from a Cul-De-Sac in a town called Peach Creek."
"But what are you guys doing here in E-Class?" Asked a tall girl with long, light brown hair kept in a ponytail with straight bangs, Meg Kataoka. She obviously wasn't expecting transfer students to be sent on their first day. Well, none of them were.
"Trust me, we didn't want to end up in this place." Eddy said angrily. "The only reason we came to this country, and this stinking school, was because our last school kicked us out and going to a foreign school was the only way the four of us were going to stick together!"
"The dark clouds have followed us yet again." Ed said in a spooky way, confusing the other.
"Oh come, your luck can't be that bad?" Said a petite girl with short, wavy orange hair and peridot green eyes, Hinano Kurahashi.
The other three Eds looked at her with faces that said 'you have no idea'. Edric then felt a tap on his right shoulder and turned around to face who it was. He saw a girl with brown hair held up in a ponytail and light purple eyes, who also had the largest set of breasts out of all the girls, Toka Yada.
"H-Hey, um..." She tried to ask her question. Edric ignored the fact she was probably scared by his freakish appearance and he stared at her, finding her to be very beautiful especially with her out of the world bazongas. "I was just wondering—and you don't have to answer if you don't want to. But…how did you get your scar?"
That brought Edric out of his etranced state as a sense of bitterness and frustration filled his body. His fist clenched and trembled, which Yada noticed and started to feel guilty about asking that question. She was going to say sorry to him, but Edric turned around and sat back in his chair with a scowl on his face. Eddy saw this and wanted to take the attention away from his friend. So he cleared his throat and looked at Double D.
"So…uh…Sockhead." He called out while Double D continued to write on his paper. "What's the plan to kill the octopus?"
Double D's eyes widened instantly with his pupils shrinking, before looking at Eddy as if he's gone crazy.
"You can't be serious!" He exclaimed before lowering his voice. "Eddy, you've just quit our scamming habits, and now you want to go back to chasing after money? The last thing we need is to cause any trouble here other than what we've already caused."
"Yeah, Eddy." Ed said, grabbing his head as he panicked. "If we do the school will call mom, and if the school calls mom, then she'll come for Ed, and if she comes for Ed, then I'll be forced back home, and if I'm forced back home, then I'll have to tell dad what I did wrong, and if I have to tell dad what I did wrong, then DAD WILL JUST SIT THERE AND WATCH TV!"
"Okay! Okay! I get it!" Eddy said with a serious tone. "But I've been thinking, alright. And I mean really thinking! It's like you said, Double D, once we're here, there's no future in our lives. We'll always be the outcasts in society. I know we were going to show the school we could make it big here, but what if we fail? We need a backup plan! And that money is our fallback plan."
The other students around them looked at the four in disbelief. How could they talk about succeeding? Here, in E-Class? No matter how much they try, there's just no way out of it.
"Eddy, even if it was a fallback plan, there'll be no hope that we can do it. We're former scammers. What do we know about assassinations?" Double D explained.
Eddy stared at him with a little scowl. Some much for getting him on board so quickly. He looked at Ed, who was staring blankly at them and smirked mischievously.
"Ed! Think about the things you can have with that money. Monster movies, comics, and all the gravy you can stomach," He said and then waited. Waited for those words to sink into the brainless Ed's head. And that's when Ed suddenly grabbed Edric and shook him.
"IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT, EDRIC!" He exclaimed before Edric punched him in the face causing him to stop and let him go before falling onto the floor.
"Of course it is, peas for brains! And I totally agree!" He exclaimed angrily.
"You are?" Double D asked in shock. Edric then turned to his smart friend.
"Eddy's right, I want to pass this class but we're in a situation where the school's against us and an octopus capable of destroying the Earth. If all else fails, might as well go to hell with it and kill the octopus." He explained before smirking and laid his hands behind his head. "Plus, I got his finger. It was a start but there's a possibility that we can kill him."
Double D remained silent for a moment as he thought about the situation. Edric and Eddy were right, there was no guarantee for success with the ruthless system the school puts into effect. It's said that if you're sent to E-Class, you're marked and blacklisted for life. No one would hire you, and no good schools will take you. That money could make a difference. And with the Earth on the line, what choice was there?
"Okay, I'm in. But a successful assassination of our teacher will have to take time, trial and error, learning from mistakes, and then carefully planned, with flawless execution." He sighed, then started thinking. "He's going at Mach 20 to China."
"It'll take ten minutes tops to reach his destination." Kataoka said, who's got nothing to do right now. "Which is his favorite place in Sichuan."
"I'm sure not even a missile could knock that sort of thing from the sky." Maehara commented.
"Are you kidding? Even if we have access to that hardware, he could break the sound barrier." Another boy with spiked dark brown hair with two small hair antennae at the top and pale gold eyes, Yuma Isogai, said.
"While grading." Nakamura added.
"My homework even came back with a doodle on it." Isogai showed everyone his homework, which had a drawing of an octopus on it.
"All things considered, you have to admit he's not doing a bad job." Nakamura complementing the octopus's job as a teacher.
"I know, right?" A wavy chin-length orange hair, peridot green eyes and a more petite frame, Hinano Kurahashi, cheerfully said. "When I went to assassinate him after school, I took the opportunity to learn arithmetic from him. I'm gonna kill it on the next test!"
GRRRR!
Then everyone heard a loud rumbling sound and they turned to see it was coming from Ed. He lifted up his shirt and looked at his belly, which was rumbling.
"Is it that time for gravy-cakes?" Ed asked with a smile, before opening the inside of his blazer, revealing to the class's shock and disgust his 'gravy-cakes' sticking to it.
"Ed! You actually brought those disgusting chunks of gravy into the classroom?!" Double D exclaimed, detesting the sight of the things, as Ed pulled one-off. He then looked at Edric and smiled.
"You haven't tried one, have you?" He asked and presented him with the gravy-cake. Eric pushed it away with annoyance.
"Thanks but no thanks, Ed. I preferred sweets after all." He told him, not wanting to hurt his feelings. But the big Ed pushed it to his face, making the boy lean back from it.
"Aw. But I've been saving this one for you ever since we met two years ago." Ed whined.
That made Edric's face cringe as the other students jumped out of their seats and backed away from them as fast as they could. Edric looked around to see them looking at him with expressions that screamed 'don't do it!'. He looked back at Ed and saw him with a sad puppy expression.
Knowing he wasn't going to get out of this without making his friend upset, which led to another problem to deal with. Eric sighed and snagged the cake from Ed as he leaned slowly forward, opened his mouth and took a small bite. He chewed it thoroughly right before his face turned green and rushed to the door. He got out of the classroom with his hand over his mouth and his cheek puffed up. Behind him, he could hear Eddy laughing. He ran past three students that were in the hallway, and opened the front door of the building.
(Outside of Class 3-E)
When Edric ran out in front of the entrance, he stopped a few feet away and vomited, letting out everything he was holding in and his breakfast. He coughed for a second before wiping his mouth on his bare arm to get the remaining throw up and cleared his throat. He breathed heavily with his hands on his knees, still tasting the disgusting, moldy, slimy, soggy—
"Are you okay?"
Edric looked up and was startled to see Nagisa standing in front of him, holding a small bag in her hand. He cleared his throat and straightened himself up.
"Yeah! Uh, yeah, um. Sorry, you had to see that, ma'am." He said, trying to be polite.
"Oh, that's good." She said with an awkward smile. "And by the way."
"Yeah?" Edric asked, his eyebrow raised.
"I'm a boy." Nagisa dropped the bomb at him.
"..."
Edric felt like reality had cracked like glass, as he stared at him with wide eyes and his jaws hanging. Just then, the two boys heard the sound of a high speeding object coming closer to them, so they looked in its direction, only to be hit with a dust cloud blasting in their faces. The cloud cleared and standing in front of them was their teacher, holding a missile.
"Hello, boys." He said. "I'm back."
"Okay, hi, sir." Nagisa said, as he and Edric were nervous by the sight of the missile while hiding the small bag behind his back. " What's—what's with the missile?"
"It's a souvenir from a strike force that tried to bring me down over the sea of Japan." The teacher replied.
"But bring it here? Huh?! Huh?! Are you trying to kill us all?!" Edric exclaimed, pointing at it drastically.
"Don't you worry, Edric." The teacher said, reassuring him. "I took out the warhead before arriving."
"Must be lonely spending your life in the crosshairs." Nagisa commented.
"Quite the opposite, actually!" He said proudly. "Reminds me how amazing I am!"
Edric didn't show it but he felt conflicted after he said that. There were times in the past when he wondered what made him so special to the world. What did he have to offer? He would often feel this way when he was around his friends when they used to scam. His dead fish eyes and scar caused many to fear him, but in the end, they got him some good friends. But what did he have to bring to the table, when the other three Eds fit with each other perfectly.
It turned out he tried his best to be a good friend, protecting them from the Cul-De-Sac kids when they tried to hurt them when their scam screwed up badly. Supporting them with everything he has, whenever that comes their way, and they said that was all they could ask for, especially Eddy after their 'Big Picture Show' adventure.
"Now then." The teacher said, breaking him out of his thoughts. "Inside for 5th period, please."
The thing moved past them and went into the building, leaving the missile outside, as Edric watched him. He then noticed Nagisa was looking at the ground.
"Oi." Edric was able to snap him out of his thoughts and he looked up at him. "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah." Nagisa answered. "Sorry about that."
"No worries." Edric then put his hand out for a handshake. "Name's Edric."
Nagisa looked between his eyes and his hand, seeming to be a little confused by his kindness. After about three seconds of awkwardness, he grabbed his hand and accepted the handshake with a small smile.
"Nagisa."
(5th period)
Nagisa and Edric returned to the classroom, where Eddy couldn't stop giggling while Double D handed him a toothbrush with toothpaste on it, demanding that he clean his teeth. Edric didn't argue and started brushing his teeth. Ed apologized to him for not liking his gravy-cake but waved it off, saying that the thought of the gift counts.
"Okie dokie!" Said the teacher with the blackboard written in Japanese on one side, and English on the other. "Your assignment this afternoon is to compose a short poem. The final line should read 'was tentacles all along'."
"Wha-huh?" Everyone in the class said.
One very beautiful girl with long, straight black hair and light brown eyes, Yukiko Kanzaki, raised her hand.
"Excuse me, sir…really?" She asked with a shy voice.
"Yeah, really?" Eddy asked. "That's the best you could come up with?"
"Oh, I can come up with more than that." The teacher tells them. "However, I want to see how well you can do with what you've been given. When you have completed your assignment, please bring it forward. You'll be graded on creativity, grammar, and overall beauty of expression. Here's an example: 'Not the storm of garden snow, Of flowers moving on, but sprouting there instead, was tentacles all along.'"
"That's…a little disturbing," Double D, not sure how to handle the poem told to him.
"You may go home once you're finished." That instantly got him, Eddy, and Edric working on the assignment.
"Done!" Ed suddenly proclaimed after one second had passed, surprising everyone, mostly his friends. The dumber Ed boy got up from his seat and walked to the teacher, handing him his poem. The octopus creature took it and looked it over.
"Hmm…." He then looked up at Ed. "You certainly have a taste for horror, ain't you, big guy? A!"
"HAH!" Ed's friends exclaimed, completely flabbergasted, as he walked back to his desk to wait for them to finish. "Ed got an A!"
"Um, sir. Question!" Raising her hand was seated next to Nagisa. She had a short stature, with a little frame, hazel eyes, and light green hair, which was always fashioned into unique, cat ear-styled pigtails, Kaede Kayano.
"Huh?" The teacher looked at her. "Of course! Fire away, Kayano?"
"Do we always have to call you sir?" She asked, getting everyone's attention. "You haven't given us your name and I think we need one. I mean, it'd be kinda awkward if we don't call you anything, right?"
"Ah. Well, now…hmmm…" The octopus-like being seemed to have been having trouble coming up with a response. "Trouble is, I don't have the sort of name you just give to people. Why not pick one for me?"
"What could go wrong?" Maehara retorted.
"Just focus on meter and syntax."
"M'kay." Kayano said with a smile.
"I'll just take a short break while you take up your pens." He sat back in a chair, sleepily, which caused his skin to turn light pink. After about three seconds, Eric was able to finish his poem. He stood up from his chair and walked towards the teacher, which caught his attention. "Ooh. Finished already, Nagisa? Edric?"
The mention of the blue-haired boy's name made the scarred boy look to his right to see him walking towards the teacher too, not seeming to notice Edric at all. However, he also saw that behind his paper was a knife. The other students noticed it too but didn't say anything in hopes of not alerting the target. Edric didn't say anything either and just continued walking to turn in his paper.
Edric had just been about two feet away when Nagisa pulled out the Anti-Sensei knife and thrust it at the teacher. However, the blade didn't make it to the being, for he stopped his arm by grabbing it.
"What did I tell you about thinking outside the box?" Their teacher said as he was about to grab the knife with a napkin.
What happened next shocked Edric, as Nagisa leaped forward as if he was going to hug the teacher. But tied around his neck was a grenade. Acting faster than he could think, and just when Nagisa wrapped his arms around the teacher. Edric immediately pushed Nagisa away as reached his bokuto and quickly did an Iaido, cutting the string holding the grenade, surprising not only Nagisa but also the yellow octopus.
BOOM!
Then the explosion came, engulfing all three of them in a flash of light. Hundreds of BBs flew everywhere, hitting the walls and windows, forcing everyone in the room to put up their arms to protect their faces.
When the flash of the explosion cleared, there was nothing more than some kind of smoking scorched mass.
"Ha-yeah!" Cheered a teen with a bulky body, light green eyes, and short, spiky, brown hair which was dyed blonde around the sides, Ryoma Terasaka.
"We did it!" Celebrated the male teen in front of him, who had dirty blonde hair and eyes that were small and black, to the point of appearing like he had pupils, but no iris, Takuya Muramatsu.
"Nagisa." Kayano gasped, with her hands on over her mouth, fearing for the boy's life.
"EDRIC!" Double D exclaimed as he, Eddy, and Ed quickly got out of their seats and rushed to where the smoking mass was, greatly worried for their friend. "Edric, are you okay?!"
"Yeah! We're gonna be billionaires!" The two students who cheered, got up from their desks, along with another male student with dark brown hair and sharp dark eyes, Taisei Yoshida, and ran to the front of the room.
"Sayonara!" Terasaka cheered. The other E-Class students turned their worried expression away from where Nagisa and Edric were to glare at the trio.
"You jerks!" Isogai shouted.
"What the hell have you done?!" Maehara shouted too. The three delinquents didn't pay any attention to them and pushed the Eds aside to look at their victory.
"Hah! Never saw a suicide bomber coming, did ya?" Terasaka taunted the smoking scorched mass. Double D and his friends looked at them in disbelief and anger.
"You planned this?" He asked indignantly.
"Terasaka!" Kayano stood up from her seat, glaring at them. "What did you make Nagisa do?"
"What?" He looked over his left shoulder at her with an annoyed expression. "I'm sorry, do you have a better idea? I gave him a modified toy grenade, filled with those stupid BB's, and a spoonful or two of gunpowder so they scatter at a high enough speed."
"But what about Edric?!" Eddy yelled at him, extremely angry that one of his closest friends was hurt—possibly killed—in the guy's plan for the money. He was now starting to doubt the reward was even worth it. "Did he have to get hurt for your plan to work?!"
"It's his own fault, you know." Terasaka said, looking down at Eddy with a smirk. "You think that hard work and being good will get you out of this class, think again! When I saw him reach from that grenade, I knew I had to trigger it then and there. Your friend wanted to play the hero, and look where it got him. But relax, it wasn't enough to kill anybody. I'll pitch in on his medical bills."
He turned back towards the mass and bent his knees to lower himself to get a closer look at his work. But only to see Edric's bokuto swinging at him from the smoke and dust.
"Huh?"
WHAM!
Before he knew it, Terasaka was sended to the back of the classroom and crashed then fell onto the floor. When the smoke and dust cleared, everyone was surprised to see Edric standing there with minor bruises and an irritated look.
"Oi." Edric called out to Terasaka as he slowly walked towards him. "You got some nerve, pulling a crap like that."
"Edric!" The other Eds shouted in relief, seeing their friend okay. Terasaka got up and looked at Edric in shock and angry
"What the?! How did you come out unscathed!?" Terasaka demanded.
"Oh, it's not just me. Nagisa is too." Edric said, gesturing to him, who was laying on the ground with some strange, yellow plastic-like sheet that was transparent covering them. Nagisa didn't appear to have any signs of injuries, buried, or even marks, and was breathing normally under the cover. Edrice brought out his own that was still on him. "Thanks to this stuff, Nagisa and I were not harmed in any way."
"What are they, Double D?" Ed asked, looking at it in confusion.
"I-I don't know, Ed." Double D answered, equally puzzled. "Must be some kind of membrane? Did the body-"
"It's not a body, it's a husk." Said the voice of the teacher. The student looked around the classroom to find him, but he was nowhere to be seen. "I shed my skin once a month. I've wrapped it around your classmates to protect them from the blast."
Nagisa came to, he tore off the husk as he sat up. Then Edric looked up for a second as his eyes widened in shock. Terasaka and his friends looked in the same direction and were also surprised. Stuck on the ceiling was the teacher, however, something wasn't right. Despite the permit smile on his face, his eyes were glowing a frightened red, a shadow spelled out from his body and covered the whole class, sending chills down every students' spin.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you didn't see this coming." The teacher said.
The three Eds looked up at him with wide eyes, while the teacher stared directly at Terasaka and his two friends as they started to become very frightened.
"Terasaka. Yoshida. Muramatsu." The teacher stated each name, making each boy he called out stiffen.
Now the other students were starting to worry and feel scared themselves. Then, not only did the creature's color change, but his face started to change drastically too. His skin became pitch black, his eyes grew large and narrowed, and started to look holes in his head, his grin widened and his teeth became sharper, and his head almost had what looked like throbbing veins.
Just by the look of him, everyone, including the Eds already know what that face means.
He's pissed.
"This was your doing…wasn't it?!" He asked with an anger induced voice. His rage filled every word that came out of his mouth, as he glared down at them. Now the three students were terrified, as they stared up at him in shock and fear.
"Who? Us?" Yoshida squealed.
"It was all Nagisa!" Terasaka lied.
WHOOSH!
He didn't even finish his sentence when the teacher suddenly disappeared, going at Mach 20, and blasting the three of them, the Eds, Nagisa, and anyone in the front rows with a strong gust of wind. After the winds died down, everyone looked back up at the ceiling and saw he wasn't there.
Five seconds later, he reappeared back in the room to their left, having used the door to enter. Again, Terasaka and his friends were hit with a gust of high-speed winds. As the winds calmed down, the teacher dropped three items on the ground. This made the three students look down at their feet, and their eyes widened.
They were nameplates, with each of their names on one.
"The name plate of my house!" Terasaka exclaimed in shock, as the same feeling filled the other two.
"Here's the deal, kiddos." Said the teacher, holding a large bag of nameplates in front of him. "The agreement I have with your government forbids me from harming you. But, there's a catch. If you pull another irresponsible stunt like that again…There's nothing that says I can't harm anyone else. Family. Friends. Everyone in the world except for you if I feel like it."
After he told them that, the whole classroom stared at him with the frightened expression that stated that he drilled the point into their skulls.
And just like the other students, the reality of the situation snuck in for the Eds. They wanted to run away, but now they couldn't run. They couldn't hide. Everything they used to do when things went south wasn't an option anymore. Their friends and families back at the Cul-De-Sac weren't going to help them, because they couldn't tell them about the teacher, and they couldn't risk them getting hurt.
They were on their own.
The only way out—the only thing they can do—was to kill this teacher.
"Go on! Threaten us!" Terasaka exclaimed, bringing everyone's attention back to him, but as tough as he's trying to be, the trembling of his body and the tears leaking out of his eyes made it clear that he was still terrified of the teacher. "I ain't afraid of no squid! Where do you get off blowing up the moon?! We got rights, you know?! Calling us irresponsible! We're just defending ourselves?!"
Suddenly the teacher's face turned to a more positive look, with an orange head and a red ring on his face.
"Of course, I know that. I'm not calling you irresponsible for trying to kill me." He said in his usual tone of voice. He then reaches over with one of his hands and pats Nagisa on the head. "No, no, no. As a matter of fact, Nagisa here gets full marks for technique. His composure was simply outstanding."
He then pats Edric's shoulder. "And Edric's lightning-fast reaction to the danger he and his classmate was in, even though he didn't know it was a fake grenade, is truly remarkable. Cutting the string with just his bokuto was no easy feat. The strength and speed to do it was remarkable."
His face turned back to the usual yellow color as he took his hand away and pointed at Terasaka and his friends, making them stiff. "However! None of you cared if he was injured. Not even Nagisa himself it seems. Students with that attitude aren't fit to assassinate anyone!"
His head then turned purple, with a dark shaded X on his face, and throbbing veins. The teacher faced Edric as he sheathed his bokuto back.
"Edric, your bravery was outstanding and your effort to save Nagisa was admirable, but please don't make it a habit of risking your life in the future." He turned his body to the class and held out his tentacles. "You must believe yourself worthy of your target. That means taking pride in what you do; in yourselves, and each other. All of you are more than the sum of your parts. You are talented assassins with hidden strength."
Edric stared at him with both his eyes widened in a bit of admiration for his teacher, letting out a deep breath and smiled. They've just been chewed out at Mach 20, then he praised him with a tentacle wag. This truly was the strangest place he and his friends could have ended up, a really bizarre to receive their education from.
And they've seen strangeness before.
But out of all the schools in the world, he felt like this classroom wasn't a death sentence, or just an obstacle, but just the right thing they needed to make the change in their lives. Was it fate that brought them here? Fortune disguised as bad luck? Or the will of a random guy behind a computer?
Edric then walked toward Nagisa as he lowered his hand down to him, making him look at it. Nagisa looked up at him with a thankful smile as he returned the gesture, grabbing Edric's larger hand before he helped him up. The rest of the Eds gathered around Edric with smiles and pats on the back.
"Here's a puzzler for you, Nagisa." The teacher said, bringing the five boys' attention to him. "Given that, I have no intention of being killed, though of course, I have every intention of enjoying our time together before the planet goes kerplooey. What, exactly, are you going to do about it?"
The question seemed to have thrown him off for a moment and he didn't respond immediately. But soon Nagisa smiled and looked at the teacher with confidence.
"I think you'll find out I can do plenty, sir. Just wait and see." Nagisa answers him.
"That's the spirit!" The teacher chuckled in response, with his face gaining the green stripes again and turned his attention to the Eds. "And you boys?"
The four American boys turned to each other. What were they going to do? They were former scammers, not heroes of the world. However, the smiles, grins, and smirks of confidence, excitement, and mischief they gave each other were all they needed to understand from one another. They turned to face the teacher.
"Heh…before the world is destroyed, you're going to see what the Yorozuya Eds are capable of, sir. Don't worry, you're as good as killed and the monkey is ours." Edric answered with a smirk on his face.
"Great!" The octopus creature chuckled again, he turned to the class with his tentacles waving around. "No one leaves until I am vanquished!"
"Way to go, Nagisa!
"This totally balls!"
Everyone started to complain but the five boys ignored the yells and made their way back to their desks. Edric turned back around as he tossed his poem at the teacher, which he caught, before going to his desk as he took out Lake Kiryu and rested it on his right shoulder. As he did, the other students were holding out their weapons of choice, as the teacher sat down on a stool. He grabbed a nameplate and started wiping it down while muttering.
"Wipe and clean, wipe and clean, wipe and clean…" The Teacher muttered.
"Man, I don't wanna be a killer." Sugino groaned.
"Ugh. We are so screwed." Maehara complained.
"We still don't know his name." Another male student with short black hair in a butch cut and thicker brows compared to other students, Taiga Okajima, said.
"How do you say 'unkillable' in Japanese?" Kayano spoke up, Nagisa turned his head to her while the Eds leaned their head forward to look past his and each other's heads to look at her. "Koro-sen-nai? Koro-sen-say!"
"Koro Sensei?" Nagisa repeated, the boys looking at her let the name sink into their heads while their teacher perked up upon hearing his new name, Koro Sensei.
"Unkillable teacher?" Double D asked in a whisper, translating the name.
"I like it." Eddy said with a grin.
Edric nodded and looked at their target and target, Korosensei, with a smile. He then turned to the readers.
"And so it begins." Edric said, launching back on his seat. "Our EDsassination Classroom."

Next Time: Edsassination #2 - Getting to know the EDs-perience
Hello Readers,
Nexus here and this is my revamp story of Welcome Back! Mr. Ed called Ed Edd Eddy n Edric: The Edsassination Classroom.
The story is pretty much like the same except the OC, Edric, is also an Ed with the name and all. I made his personality and eyes like Sakata Gintoki in Gintama while still retaining the original aspect of Eric. His scar is like Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer because it looked cooler this way and made him a fan of Gintama, which is my favorite anime so far last year when I got really into it.
His role is being comedic relief while at a same time being a badass who does a lot of 4th wallbreaking, even more than the Eds. And had a wooden sword like Gintoki as his main weapon for assassination but he's still using the firearms in the later chapters.
I ogt the idea when I watched Gintama and put the elements into this because I felt it could work and got my brain going into this, so hope youb like ths revvamp and tell me what you'll think.
