Author's Notes: Been talking about this with others in PM conversations and I have to write it, have another Omake that could function as a What If sort of thing. For context, the main difference in this is Minato arrived in DxD earlier and had to repeat his second year (like in so many other crossover fanfics with a school setting)

Special Note: While Kami does not equal god, the two terms will be used interchangeable in regards to those of Shinto gods in this snippet.

Also, I've decided that I will add any new none DragonXMessiah or other smaller 'mini series' of snippets so that their added to the chapter list as normal but I will move them down the list so as to keep all the series of snippets together orderly to make reading easier. Meaning this Snippet, including any potential continuation, will be moved down to before MessiahXDragon when the next chapter of MXD is uploaded.

"I know this is sudden, we only met once before, but the truth is I'm your Kaa-san (Mother)!"

Or, "A hikikomori Goddess convinces herself I'm her son"

Aka, Mama Amaterasu.

"A tokusatsu live show" Minato said as he looked over the job posting one of his fellow workers at Gentle Etiquette handed to him.

"Yeah, they're a good place to go to earn a little extra cash on the side" Minato's fellow employee said as he changed into his butler uniform "I've been doing them for a while and it's a fun job to have if you like the whole super hero thing, I was going to do this one too but I really need to focus on my studies at the minute" he let out a sigh as he talked about his grades before turning back to look at Minato "It's a small thing and I'm asking around to see if anyone's interested?"

Minato raised a curious eyebrow as he looked over what was being asked of him, apparently he would be playing as recently made villain for the live shows "Don't I need some training for this?" he looked to his peer with a questioning look "Or pass some kind of background check?"

"So long as you have people to vouch for you and your fit the people behind this have no issue with anyone signing up" he closed his locker before turning to face Minato directly "The routine is easy to remember, no lines to be said either, and the whole show is rather short"

Mulling it over for a long moment Minato shrugged "Sure. I'll give it a try and I'll let you know how things turn out"

He smiled brightly as he fist bumped the air "Alright, I'll leave it to you then. Besides what's the worst that could happen"

-=-][-=-

In the beginning Minato found his new short term job a rather pleasant one, the people were friendly and nice to work with along with what he needed to do was rather basic all things considered with the only drawback being the monster suit he had to wear had a bit of a smell on the inside.

The suit itself was that of a humanoid wolf with solid red eyes wearing light armour, the armour was suppose to cover the entire body but parts of the suit got lost somewhere and so they resorted to attaching a white bed sheet over the exposed areas and called them robes.

Credit where credit was due it did a fantastical job with many actually considering it an outright improvement, and Minato would agree as it made the inside of the suit cooler when he wore it.

Rehearsals went smoothly as Minato ended up playing the role of the big bad of the performance, he managed to along well with the one playing the hero and after a while were able to get some banter going between them. The director of the show even decided to have them improv some scenes to see if they could be slotted into the show, over all everything was going well and on the day of the first show…

"Nobody move!"

...A crazed man with bloodshot eyes with a knife in one hand and a gun in the other ran right into the middle of the performance, police officers followed shortly after but kept their distance when it became clear he intended to take hostages.

Seeing the worried, fearful and confused look on the faces of the children and adults that came to watch the performance spurred Minato into action as he thought on his feet on what to do.

"You there, do not interfere with my battle against this hero" Minato said as he remained in character, his plan being to ease the worries of the children to let them think this was all part of the performance and hopefully confused the crazed man enough as to leave an opening for the police "I have allowed this crowd to watch under the unspoken agreement of non interference, if you shall not follow this pact then leave at once"

"Dude, what are you doing!?" the hero of the road show whispered to Minato as he stepped closer to him and out of hearing range for the children.

Minato answered back without turning away from the crazed man "Trying to make sure no one gets hurt"

"The hell are you talking about monster-!" the crazed man said as he raised his gun and took aim at Minato who broke out in a standing run towards the man, not moving out of the way out of fear of the bullet possibly harming a bystander, keeping the crazed man's focus on him and not on the people around them.

Once he got close enough Minato kicked the gun out of the man's hand sending it spinning in the air, the man tried to lash out with his knife but found his arm restrained by the hero of the show and quickly disarmed. Catching the gun as it fell the weapons were quickly turned over to the police who arrested the man and led him away, with one of the officers speaking to a member of staff running the show to keep everyone there until they could get a statement over what just happened.

"So, Eclipse Canine. I must admit we make a pretty good team" The Hero said, trying to play off what just happened as part of the show "How about giving up your evil ways and joining forces?"

"Hmph, a tempting offer but it is one I cannot take you up on" Minato said, doing his best to sound gruff as he turned to face his fellow actor to end the show on an unexpected high note considering there was little chance of them finishing the rest of the show "When next we meet we shall have a proper fight, until then do not fall to anything else before my fangs can defeat you"

In the next moment Minato's instincts roared at him to turn around and as he did he saw the crazed man shake off the police officers and pulled out a second gun he was hiding, looking into the man's eye Minato saw someone who wanted to cause pain as he aimed the gun into the crowd.

Before anyone could react Minato had jumped into the path of the bullet shielding the crowd with himself as a shield, the bullet hitting him in the shoulder but doing no harm as he used Null Pierce, the action shocked everyone present at the turn of events. As the crazed man was preparing to shoot again Minato made eye contact with him and with a subtle use of Sariel's Evil Eye froze the gunmen where he stood giving Minato the chance to sprint towards him to deliver a knock out punch with the same arm he was just shot in.

"Devouring Stellar Strike!" Minato called out the attack as he brought the man down with one punch and knocking him out cold, as the man doubled over the hero rushed over to Minato's side as some children in the crowd cheered.

After the police took the man in for good this time they questioned everyone as an ambulance was called for Minato, the paramedics telling Minato was fine and it seemed like the suit had stopped the bullet or at least it decreased in speed enough that it got stuck inside the suit.

The road show was put on hold for the time being with everyone getting paid for their troubles, Minato and his heroic co star getting paid doubled as they helped protect everyone even if they did get a severe scolding from the police for putting themselves in 'needless danger' as they called it. They also got some fan mail from the parents and children from the show thanking them for being real life heroes.

Minato went on with his life after the incident not giving it too much thought beyond hoping the children or adults would be traumatized over what happened and that the crazed man got the help he needed, although rumours about what happened began circling around town with a number of people wondering who was the one in the hero and monster costumes who saved the crowd.

However, a week later the director of the live show came looking for Minato as there was something they needed to talk about with his superior.

Said superior being a woman in her early fifties wearing sunglasses who took one look at him before she smiled at him with a look Minato saw on President Tanaka more than a few times during his mentorship under the businessman and on his shopping channel.

"Young man, I'm going to make you a star" she said with a deviously grin "Tell me, besides acting and heroics, what talents do you have?"

Mentally shrugging Minato decided to play along and see where thing went with this "I dabble in art, my friends say I'm a good singer whose surprisingly good at rapping"

Her grin became shark like as the director of the live show shot Minato a sympathetic look for a moment before taking down notes, they already had a plan of attack worked out and all that was left was to work out the finer details.

-=-][-=-

Minato's rise in stardom could only be described as meteoric as between good looks, a heroic reputation, natural charisma and artistic talent he rose in popularity quickly with news of what happened only spreading his reputation further out. He thought the attention would be split between him and his heroic co-star but as it turned out he was camera shy and refused to get involved, leaving Minato alone in a sea of flashing lights with millions of eyes watching his every movement and listening to his every word.

And with that thought Minato understood why his co star was so camera shy.

It started out simply enough with interviews about what happened and those lead to small concerts to show off his musical talent with the venues growing larger with each performance, he got a major role in a movie playing as Eclipse Canine (who went from a monster of the week to a tragic fallen hero cursed and ultimately saved by the hero of the movie which leads to the hero inheriting Eclipse Canine's true power to gain a new form) and sang a few songs for it.

While the money was good Minato planned to step out of the limelight to focus on his last year of high school before college, much to the disappointment of his fans. Especially one in particular.

In a comfy room with stone walls without windows and only one entrance sat a woman appearing to be in her teenage years, in her hands were glow sticks as she wore a headband.

"Ah! My son is the coolest~!" the girl said as she cheered on her 'son' as she watched his performance on television, her dark brown hair swaying side to side with her side ponytail bouncing up and down, her yellow eyes sparkling as she took in every moment of the performance of the human who caught her interest.

The next moment there was a crashing sound as a young god who appeared to be a young boy fell over in shock, his brown hair covering his brown eyes for a moment before he pushed it away as he stared in shock at the women he was attending to "Son!" the young Kami Yamato exclaimed before his attention shifted to the screen where the singer was bowing to the clapping audience "He's your son?! Why haven't we heard of him Lady Amaterasu?"

Amaterasu blushed for a moment before putting down her glow sticks "He's not really my son, it's just a term of endearment people use from time to time online" seeing the confused look on her attendant face the Supreme Goddess of Shinto explained things "Basically when someone grows attached to certain characters they normally fall under the umbrella of a romantic partner, like a waifu or husbando, or a parental protective one, them being a son or daughter"

Yamato nodded, not fully grasping the concept at the moment but understanding enough for the time being "So this person isn't actually your son, you merely like him enough to call him you son"

Amaterasu nodded "Basically, and I can't help myself!" she turned back to the screen to see a close up of her 'son' "Seeing his performances drew me in and the more I learnt about him I could feel a desire to protect the poor boy, especially after his movie performance"

Yamato looked to Amaterasu's 'son' for a moment before pausing for a moment "Wait, was that the movie you were crying about and didn't come out of here for two days?"

"I felt my heart breaking when his character died and when his spirit said farewell to the hero!" Amaterasu said, fighting back her watering eyes as she remembered the scenes in question "Not to mention I've had his song on loop for a whole day" she held up the glow sticks again as an interview section with the talk show host began "I can't wait to see what else he's gonna-"

"I'm going to be blunt Mr Arisato there's rumours going around that your planning on retiring early, are there any truth to this?"

Minato nodded to the host's question "It's true, while I have been able to keep up with my studies so far I want to focus on my third year and so I am stepping away from showbiz for the foreseeable future"

"Eh?" Amaterasu said as she locked up in place, her expression brittle "Wha-"

The host nodded "Yes, yes, education is very important. If I may ask, what career are you planning on taking in the event you won't be returning to show business?"

"I'm looking to become a doctor, specifically one that deals with both the psychological and physical aspects of a person" Minato said as the interview went on with Amaterasu not showing any reaction.

Once it came to an end she slumped over pulled her sheets over her with watery eyes and laid there "My son's retiring too soon! He's leaving just as quickly as he came!"

Yamato went over to try and cheer up the sun goddess, however his words didn't seem to offer his lady much comfort "Would you prefer he didn't retire?" he asked, wondering if he could do anything to have this Minato continue his career in media for Amaterasu's sake.

"No" Amaterasu said firmly, even as her eyes were still watery "I don't want my son to force himself to continue this if he doesn't want to, I'll respect his decision and wish him the best in life. But" she grew quiet as she looked up to the screen at the image of the human who captivated her, among many others, like never before "It's just so sudden"

The chief deity of Shintoism said as she covered her head with her blanket, meanwhile as Amaterasu dealt with her current whirlwind of emotions Yamato look to the screen as an idea came to mind.

Several Hours later...

"You did what!?" Amaterasu cried as she looked to her attendant in wide eyed shock.

Yamato scratched his cheek "I managed to arrange for Minato Arisato to put on one last live show and concert near Ise Grand Shrine, though near is more of a relative term as it's in Watarai" he gave his goddess a beaming smile "I can have it recorded for you, or you could even go see it in person if you want"

She didn't answer right away, instead thinking it over for a long moment as she considered thing.

'This could very well be his last performance, and it's close enough' she thought before turning to Yamato for more information "Do you know how many people will be there?" she asked hoping it would be a small crowd.

"The farewell performance is going to be a small thing, aside from yourself I imagine a couple of Watarai's residents will stop by to see" Yamato assured Amaterasu, seeing her on the fence he went in for the finishing move "AND, there's going to be an autograph signing with exclusive merchandise"

Amaterasu jumped to her feet, her unease of large gatherings vanishing "I've decided, I will attend my son's last show in person!" she turned around as she considered what she wanted her 'son' to sign and what was she going to wear, something relating to him to show she was a fan and not a random passer-by but nothing too over the top as she didn't him to think she was a crazy fan.

-=-][-=-

Minato stretched as he finished off his last show, one he didn't even know he had until his manager told him she made a booking and forgot to tell him about it. It was a little odd all things considered, it wasn't advertised like usual and what little there was went out a day beforehand and only in the Mie Prefecture. Even if someone from anywhere else in the country learnt about it Watarai didn't have a passenger rail service or have any of the national highways running through it, meaning in all likelihood many people wouldn't be able to come.

He was convinced his manager threw this whole thing together to pocket some money, though from where the money was coming from he wasn't sure about as the low attendance would rule out making any major profit from the performance itself or the local government wanting the show for tourism.

Putting those thoughts aside for some other time Minato went out for the meet and greet for those that came, however due to how few people showed up due to the suddenness of the whole thing he met only a few dozen people. Some young children whose parent's brought them for the free show, with the majority being from the local middle and high school, although his older fans did show up as well with only one person breaking down crying saying how they were going miss him.

But, eventually they all left and Minato waited for anymore to arrive. After several hours and the sun beginning to set he was ready to call it quits, promising to sign whatever was left with the last minute merchandise that was thrown together for the show so it could be sold later on.

Minato didn't go back to his hotel right away, instead taking the chance to walk around Watarai for a bit and see a bit of the area. He remembered several places the middle and high school students told him about and went to check those places out, as he was walking along he could hear footsteps from behind him.

"Um, excuse me"

Turning around Minato saw a teenage girl with her dark brown hair done into a side pony tail wearing a hoodie over a shirt that had Minato standing back to back with, the character he played, Eclipse Canine.

Looking over his memories of the event Minato couldn't recall seeing her at it nor at the autograph signing, with those details in mind he was able to put together an idea of what happened.

"Evening" Minato said as he fully turned around to talk to the girl "Sorry, the show's already over"

Amaterasu was about to mention how she was present during the live show and concert but made sure to keep a low profile-

"If you want, I can sign anything for you or we can hang out for a little while" Minato offered not wanting to have the unknown girl come all the way to Watarai for nothing.

The Shinto Kami shut her mouth, she was not expecting this turn of events at all.

'This, this is starting to go in the direction of the fan fiction I've read and written' Amaterasu, Kami of the Sun and hobbyist writer, thought to herself as her mind rebooted "I wouldn't want to bother you for too long"

Minato shook his head and gave her a disarming smile "No bother at all, honestly my walk was getting a little lonely and it'd be nice to talk to someone" he looked away for a moment "And, it wouldn't sit right with me if you missed the show due to how sudden it was announced"

Amaterasu bowed her head "That's very kind of you, I'm happy we could meet in person. I'm Haru" the Kami introducing herself with her fake name, her fake ID on hand in case anyone asked for it.

"It's nice to meet you Haru, I'm Minato" he said, using his first name the same way he thought 'Haru' was using her first name "So, do you know any place to visit here in Watarai?"

"Other than the local shrines, no not really. I'm actually from, Ise" Amaterasu answered as she walked closer to Minato until she was right beside him, her nervousness of being close to her 'son' increasing.

Minato blinked with a surprised look "The Capital of Kami Ise? To be honest I was planning to visit there after I finish up things here, I haven't had the chance to visit Japan's Holy City before and this seemed like a good chance to check it out"

"Really, maybe I could show you around than. Or, you could stay with me and my family during the trip?" Amaterasu offered and moments later regretting saying that as she was worried it'll make a bad impression.

Minato gave the offer some thought "I'd happily accept the tour your offering, but I wouldn't want to impose on you or your family like that"

The two continued on their walk around Watarai as they explored the city, the nervousness of earlier melting away as things were going great.

It was already getting late at night before they heard a cry of help from the outskirts of Watarai, Minato broke out into a run to see what was happening with Amaterasu close behind.

It wasn't long before they found a family of four, parents and two children, running terrified from a strange chimera creature.

'A Stray Devil?! But why can't I sense it?!' Amaterasu thought to herself, not knowing if it was the result of a Sacred Gear or something she decided to act and protect her people. As she took aim at the monster she saw that Minato had leapt into the air and punched the Stray Devil and sent it toppling over 'Huh?'

While Minato didn't know what exactly the monster was, he knew it felt something demonic and was definitely not a Youkai, he stood between the family and the creature he had just knocked down.

"Get out of here and to safety, I'll handle this monster here!" Minato said as he looked over his shoulder to the family and Haru.

The father stopped for a moment as he looked to Minato shocked "Don't be a hero kid, you got a lucky punch on that thing but luck will only take you so far!" he said, not wanting the young man before him to have his life cut short.

Amaterasu gesturing for the family to keep going and as she did she sent an emergency message to call for help, however before it could be sent she felt something very familiar as an aura gathered around Minato.

As for Minato, he didn't have his Evoker with him at the moment so he couldn't summon his Personas like he usually done before. But even without an Evoker he could grant physical form to his Personas by shaping them into weapons, while he needed a Nihil weapon for a permanent weapon he could forge temporary ones.

"Don't worry about me, after all" with a hand outstretch godly power emanated from Minato and took the basic outline of a sword in his open hand "Heroes always save the day, after all" he said repeating a line he said during the one movie he was in to ease the fears of the people around him.

Grasping the sword and swing it down granted it form, a blade of silver and gold with mirrors decorating the hilt with flames licking around the blade and the one who wielded it. As she looked at Minato and the sword he wielded Amaterasu froze as she recognized two things, the first being the guard of the godly sword was very similar to her headpiece and that it was her power coming from Minato.

The battle was over in less than a minute, even if the Devil had the power of a High Class Devil it only took one powerful fire attack from Minato to turn it into ash. After making sure everyone was alright Amaterasu said her farewells and did the only thing she could do, that being running away back to her room and locking herself in until she was able to wrap her head around the situation.

Minato scouted out the area to make sure there weren't any other monsters roaming around before calling it a night, he left Watarai the following day and spent the weekend in Ise city before heading back to Kuoh Town.

-=-][-=-

"Maybe you blessed him without realizing it" Yamato suggested to his goddess as she had various pages thrown around her room, researching what she could of Minato Arisato beyond what most knew about him "I mean, you are a fan of his" he added, not sure if it would help or not.

Amaterasu shook her head "No, I am confident I didn't bless him as I intended to deal with the Stray Devil myself than put any of my people in danger when I was right there" she said as she put one file on the table and put several pages into a growing pile of information that wasn't helpful to her "That, and what came from him didn't feel like a blessing per say. I know I've felt something like it before but I can't remember!"

Yamato picked up several pages to see they were official documents "Lady Amaterasu, I can help if I knew what your looking for"

"I'm trying to see if there's any information in Minato's past to see if it could help me understand why he had the power he did, why it felt like my own divine power was emanating from him and let him create a sword reassembling my headpiece" Amaterasu said as she opened a file to show her attendant what she was able to dig up so far "He was an orphan found at a shrine and taken to an orphanage to be raised until he was old enough to live on his own, he transferred to-"

"Lady Amaterasu, did you say you felt your own divine power coming from this Minato even though you are confident you never blessed him?" Yamato asked with a shaky voice, receiving a nod he asked something he suspected the supreme kami of Shinto might have been avoiding subconsciously "I'm sorry if this sounds out of line, or flat out crazy, but doesn't that describe Demigods?"

The room fell dead silent at the question, both Kami not moving as it hung in the air, after a minute Amaterasu replied with a stutter.

"A D-Demigod son!? That's impossible! I haven't been with any mortal to have a child with! 18 to 19 years ago I was, I was-" Amaterasu trailed as old memories came to the forefront of her mind "I was sort of obsessed with this one fictional character for a little bit, even daydream once of starting a family with them"

"Lady Amaterasu, I'm sure that can't be the answer" Yamato said as he saw his goddess paling considerably.

"It wouldn't be the strangest way a deity had given birth to a child, Zeus gave birth to Athena from his head" she looked through all the information she had on Minato, information she didn't know was fabricated by the Nakajimas to help Minato settle down without legal issues, the more she looked the wider her eyes became "It all matches up, I must have given birth to a demigod son because I daydreamed about having one with a fictional mortal character…" the papers fell from her loose grip "My 'son' is actually my son"

Tears built up in her eyes before falling freely "I'm a horrible mother! I left my own son alone in the world, and the fan fiction I've read and written about him-" she began turning a visible shade of green "Oh no, the fan fiction…" her eyes rolled into the back of her head and fell backwards.

"Lady Amaterasu!" Yamato rushed over to care for the kami of the sun.

Amaterasu wouldn't leave her room for several weeks as she thought of ways to handle the situation, going over what options she had available with Yamato as she purged her watchlist and delete her fan works regarding Minato with only the wholesome section remaining at the end, even as she came off more distant than usual she tried her best to continue her duties as the head of her pantheon.

Once she planned on what to do it took another week before she headed out to meet with her long lost son, she needed time to psyche herself up for the major event before her. She went to Kuoh Town without telling any of the local Devils renting the land, although Amaterasu made a mental note to get her son out of that Devil run Academy as soon as possible, and as she arrived at the address she managed to get a hold of she did a double take as she thought she had the wrong address.

Entering the cafe she was prepared to ask for directions from any of the staff-

"Welcome, how may we serve you today?"

-until she ran into Minato, greeting her as she walked in, wearing a maid dress and giving her a beaming smile.

Her mind halted for a moment as she froze up.

Minato blinked as he recognized the girl who just entered "Haru? Long time no see"

"Yeah, you look surprisingly great in a maid outfit" Amaterasu said, kicking herself for putting her foot in her mouth like that.

-=-][-=-

After finishing his shift at work Minato went with a Haru to catch up on things since what happened in Watarai, while she was shaken back than she insisted to Minato that she was fine and he believed her.

He was planning on perhaps showing her around Kuoh Town as he wasn't sure if she had visited before but one look at her was enough to tell Minato she wanted to talk about something, and once they got somewhere private she spoke.

"Minato, there's something I need to tell you" Haru said, taking a deep breath through her nose before continuing "My name isn't Haru" divine power surrounded Haru as her clothing changed from ordinary street clothes to royal robes "I am the Kami of the Sun, Amaterasu-Omikami, and" her regal demeanour faltered "And, well, the thing is-"

Amaterasu steeled her nerves before taking the leap "I know this is sudden, we only met once before, but the truth is I'm your Kaa-san (Mother)!"

The only response he could give was a deadpan look, he was still processing the fact the random girl he met before was the ruling deity of Shinto and her nervousness but hearing Amaterasu calling herself his mother caught him completely flat footed "What?"

"I realize this is a lot to take in" Amaterasu continued on "Years ago I dreamt of having a Demigod son of my own and without realizing you were born, had I been more focus and not scattered brain you would have been by my side instead of being tossed into the world on your own" tears built up in the corners of her eyes "I'm truly sorry, I can't change the past but I want to make things right in anyway I can!"

'Ah, when you used my power it seemed to have convince this… Kami of the sun to become convinced you are her child' the Persona of Amaterasu whispered to Minato, who decided to clear up this misunderstanding as best he can.

"Lady Amaterasu, you aren't my mother" he said, being direct with the whole matter. But before he could continue Amaterasu ran off, had he been able to see her face Minato would have seen the Kami of the Sun with a heartbroken expression and crying. But, as he wasn't able to see her expression he thought she ran due to embarrassment or due to realizing her mistake.

Amaterasu locked herself away in her room for a week before going out to try and mend things with her estrange son she thought hated her, however their next meeting was shorter than their last as Minato repeated the words that broke her last time.

"I thought we cleared things up last time, you aren't my mother" as she ran away again Minato was able to see her tears this time, he reached out to her but she was already gone. Throughout the following days he noticed heavy grey clouds covering all of Japan and knowing the change in weather was related to his conversations with the Kami of the Sun Minato decided to go directly to Amaterasu to clear things up.

With the aid of the Persona of Amaterasu Minato found himself in Takamagahara, the home of Shinto gods the same way Olympus was to the Greco Romans, near the cave Amaterasu sealed herself in her most famous legend. In front of the cave was a young kami who stood before an ornate double doors built into the cave, seeing the concerned look on his face Minato approached while keeping an eye on the entrance to the cave and the young kami.

Said young kami looked over to see who was approaching and jumped back in shock once he saw Minato, Yamato looked around to see if anyone else was nearby for slowly making his way to him "Minato Arisato, how did you get here?"

"I, wanted to talk with the strange woman claiming to be my mother and I found myself here" he answered, not exactly lying but not telling the whole truth, looking over to the cave he winced "Please, be honest with me. Does she really believe I'm her son?"

Yamato blinked at the question being asked before turning to look at the entrance to the Heavenly Rock Cave "Yes, ever since that battle with the Stray Devil in Watarai and she felt her own power coming from you. To say she was shocked was an understatement, for her it was heartbreaking that she left you all alone in the world and it was due to dumb luck she even knew you existed" Yamato turned to Minato with a sincere look "She wants to make this right in whatever way she can, but when she heard you saying she isn't your mother… well"

"It's like what happened with Susanoo no Mikoto and locked herself away" Minato said as he thought of the incident, of how people viewed it as a story of conflict in relationships and of trauma and depression, drawing in some echoes of what happened from the Personas involved in the myth.

Yamato nodded "She came out on her own before, but when she came back this time I'm not sure if she will do it again" he raised his hand to the door to reveal a powerful magic barrier sealing it off from the outside world.

Walking towards the barrier Minato put his hand against it, the barrier flashed a few times before Minato brought it down with the Persona of Amaterasu's power.

"Thank you, I understand things a bit better now" Minato said as he turned to Yamato who looked at Minato in shock, any doubt of him not being Amaterasu's son being cleared away as he brought down a barrier that only herself or a direct demigod of hers could have brought down.

Minato knocked on the door and called out to the Shinto goddess of the sun, it took a while but she opened the door to peek her head out to see who it was. Seeing her estranged 'son' at her door caught Amaterasu off guard, so much so that instead of closing the door she stood frozen for a moment.

"Hey, you really believe I'm your son?" Minato asked, wanting to hear the truth from the source "This isn't some misunderstanding or some odd trial of character you decided to spring on me?"

Amaterasu shook her head "No! I am sure your my son, this isn't some trial and" she paused as she tentatively asked "You weren't rejecting me as your Kaa-san (Mother)?"

Minato shook his head "I'm confident this is some huge misunderstanding, it's why I said you weren't my mother" Amaterasu didn't flinch when she heard those words again as she now knew the real meaning behind them "I didn't want you to think you have to do something to save face or to make right when there's nothing wrong" he rubbed the back of his neck "So, knowing your not obligated to do anything do you still want to try this whole… mother and son thing?" he asked, not sure of how to phrase it.

"Yes" Amaterasu answered in a small hopeful voice.

Minato nodded "Alright, but let's take it slow to see how it goes as suddenly having a new mother or son is a big thing" he paused for a moment before continuing "And if it doesn't work out, we could try and stay on friendly terms" he looked away as the next part was harder for him to say "I, don't really have a mother figure in my life so this is something I may need some time getting used to"

The door was forcefully closed before the sounds of locks being undone before it opened wide to let the Shinto Goddess of the Sun and Universe to hug tackle her newest son, a hug Minato returned as soon as he was sure he wouldn't fall over from the running tackle.

"I promise you I'll be the best mother I can be!" cheered Amaterasu, the clouds over Japan parting as it seemed the light from the sun intensified.

With a small smile Yamato wiped away a tear at the sight of her highness reuniting with her long lost son, it was such a touching moment that he almost felt like he was intruding upon it. He walked away to give the two time to catch up as well as keep any of the other gods from bothering them too much.

"Amaterasu, I mean Kaa-san" Minato said, not used to calling the goddess hugging him his mother "But what's that bulky thing in your pocket?" Amaterasu broke off the hug and as she did the bulky thing in her pocket became visible, a handheld game console was in clear view.

After a brief moment of her trying to deny that the game console was hers Amaterasu opened up more of her otaku interests when Minato mentioned he was thinking of getting one to help him unwind from school as he was beginning his final year of high school, the two spending time together with them both learning more about each other.

During said tour of Amaterasu's collection of manga, anime and games she remembered something and went to her computer to check something which turned out to be a browser game she played that was having a collab with the series Minato starred in. He raised an eyebrow as he didn't know video games how these types of events as his only real experience with online games didn't have such things.

"Hmm, I'm feeling very really good at the minute. In fact, I won't spend any resources on getting my son because I know I can pull him with my one free spin even at 0.0001% drop rate" Amaterasu said with a massive smile and on a whim Minato used some of his power to boost his new mother's luck so that she did get his character on the first pull "Alright!"

As she jumped with childish glee Minato began to wonder who was the parent and who was the child in this new relationship.

For that moment everything seemed well, however Amaterasu having a Demigod son was not something that could be hidden forever.

"So, Amaterasu isn't your mother?" Ophis asked as she played a game alongside Minato.

Minato shook his head "Nope, and I'm pretty sure she's realized that I'm not really her son but likes the way things are" he frowned for a moment "Although, while I'm happy she stopped trying to have me transfer out of Kuoh Academy and move out of Kuoh Town for my own safety I'm still sure she wants me to move in with her for 'homeschooling' before I go to college. At least that's what my bodyguard says" the memory of seeing said bodyguard entering his home room as a new teacher was still very fresh in Minato's mind along with the man's many attempts to have Minato transfer schools in the middle of his final year, a prospect he was more agreeable with during the times the two Devil groups kept bothering him.

Ophis tilted her head "Is she, dotting?" she asked, not entirely sure she was using the right term.

"She can be affectionate, but she can restrain herself" Minato answered before shrugging "Honestly, I'm just glad she's hiding who I am for the time being. I know for a fact the current Japan Royal Family wants to meet me and welcome me into the family, get some fresh Kami blood in as they aren't related to Amaterasu by blood"

"Is she attending this parents day coming up?" Ophis asked, having heard Minato mention it once.

He paused as he thought it over, the truth was Minato truly didn't know but he could picture Amaterasu, Yamato and even Susanoo making an appearance.

As he was thinking this Minato's mobile phone began ringing, it was Amaterasu asking if she left her laptop behind at Minato's place the last time she visited and after he found it she told him to hang on to it until she came back for it.

Dotting mother she was, Amaterasu told Minato the password for her laptop so he could use it for whatever reason. A decision Amaterasu would come to regret as her laptop contained backups of all her collective fan works of Minato before she thought he was her son.

And as they were on in a large, unprotected, folder labelled Minato curiosity would lead both Minato and Ophis to see what was inside.

Neither Minato nor Amaterasu were able to look each other in the eye for a week after she learnt Minato and Phis looked through her fan works folder.

Author's Notes

And that about wraps up this little snippet, the Amaterasu present here along with Yamato are the ones from the manga [ Amaterasu wants to stay at home ]. She even has the side pony tail look some anime mums have.

For those curious about the sword Minato used, the design is taken from Dx2's Armaments, specifically the one created by using Amaterasu known as Takamagahara.

The Japanese Royal Family would like to meet Minato in this as, as far as they know, he's the son of Amaterasu and heir to the Emperor's throne.

Minato status as a minor celebrity earned him the Title of Hero Prince from the students of Kuoh Academy, for what little worth it had, and the other students and teachers would bring their younger siblings to meet a Tokusatsu hero actor. If they ever learnt he was an actual prince things would get wild.

Also there would be a very real chance of other characters trying to arrange a marriage with the mortal son of Amaterasu, but that could wait for another time.

Oh, and some may accuse Amaterasu of being a soncon once they learn of her fanfiction but she would deny it by saying she's a brocon instead.
