Rain, nothing but rain. It was coming down by the bucket load now, each tiny droplet piercing her skin just as much as the first. Around her the sound of people running to take shelter could only just be heard over the sound of the hundreds of cars passing her by.

Through the thick fog that hung over the city she could see the outline of endless buildings towering above her, watching her every move.

The world was getting more and more distant, she could barely see her hands in front of her face or the ground beneath her feet, she could feel it though. Hard, cold pavement lay beneath her bare feet, it hurt to run but she didn't feel it, not anymore.

Someone ran into her causing her to stop dead in her tracks. The reality of what had just happened was finally taking over, rooting her to the spot. She was unable to move, only just able to keep breathing.

Everything seemed to stop, disappear. She could no longer hear the constant buzz of the street or the rain hitting the ground hard.

"Lindsay!"

Hearing his voice brought it all back, the stench of alcohol, the shouting, the screaming and the terrified look on his face. It was all too much for her and she passed out, her body falling limply to the ground.

"Ow! Let go!" Lindsay jerked her head sideways but the man's fingers closed on her hair and hung on tight. "Let go!" She cried. "Please let me go." The man seemed to panic slightly, holding her even tighter. Lindsay let out a scream alerting Danny and Mac to the fact that she was in danger and within seconds they burst into the room, their guns drawn. Lindsay struggled slightly causing the heavily built man to close his other hand over her mouth and nose.

"You shouldn't have done that." He whispered into her ear as he tightened his grip on her causing her to struggle violently. Her feet kicked out at the man's legs as she struggled to be free.

Upon seeing their friend and colleague's situation Mac and Danny instantly tried to gain control but their words were lost, this man was going to use Lindsay to protect himself from any bullets they sent his way.

Lindsay continued to struggle, kicking the man in the shin repeatedly, she wanted to get out of his grip, now!

"Ouch! You little cow!" The man cried out in pain. "Stop it!" But Lindsay wasn't listening and continued to kick him.

"I warned you bitch!" The man shouted again tightening his grip on Lindsay yet again causing her to struggle and scream even more. "Shut the fuck up!" The man shouted shaking her. "Just shut up!" he shouted, shaking her again more forcefully causing Lindsay to black out and fall limp under his grip.

Mac and Danny gasped watching helplessly; waiting to see what he would do next. They watched as Lindsay came round again, she caught Danny's eye, he looked terrified. Taking advantage of the fact that the man thought she was out cold Lindsay bit down hard on the man's arm causing him to drop her in surprise. She got up and ran out into the street, the cold air stung her bare arms but she didn't care, she just kept running.

---

"Lindsay!" Danny shouted running over to where he had seen her fall. He fell to her side and pulled her into his arms never wanting to let go again. She was safe now.
