The votes have been counted, and everyone seems to just want me to ignore the mistake instead of bothering to fix it. So I'll try and be extra quick on this chapter. Normally I'd put a section here to reply to reviews, but I think I'll just do that next chapter. Thanks to everyone who bothered to read this, or reviews, favorite or follow :)
Wait- I have to say something to themugglepadme, YeS! Suffer! I shall make so many close reveals that you die! Thanks for the compliments though. And also, to SuperShadow- that's actually a really good idea, and may the force be with you to. And to VeronicaChase, I'm glad I have you sitting on the edge of your seat. XD
Also, I'm writing this all on one doc, and let me tell you, that it is very painful. I grave to scroll for like, a minute, before I get to my place. Lol.

Winter was still stunned- but even if in this maybe possible future he was free. It didn't make a difference. Because obviously having seen this future would change his real future. Winter could bet that this movie would reveal who he was, and then Steve would either A) hate him for it, or B) wouldn't be able to fight him when the time came.
Which meant that even if that future was true, the one the girl had let them listen in one, it didn't matter. Winter would still have to do everything he could to prevent the things the movie was showing him, he knew that when Hydra got him back, they'd wipe him. And he'd go back to being.. that thing. And he couldn't let that happen.
He didn't care what happened to him anymore, but he couldn't hurt Steve. He couldn't let that happen. And he did have a plan to stop it from happening, he knew he'd never let himself leave this room. And even though he was pretty sure the girl had stripped them of all their weapons, he knew he still had a gun in one of his many pockets.
And he knew exactly how he'd use it too. But not right now, right now he'd rather just pretend that he wasn't Hydra's pet. Right now he'd just like to sit and relax next to these odd people, and his past self's best friend.
That sounded weird even to him, and that was saying a lot. His main problem for the time being was that he knew he was talking too much like 'Bucky'. And that would be a problem, he would and could not ever be like his past self again. But he knew he was accidentally dragging things up from the depths of his mind. Things long forgotten, and he couldn't help but blurt them out. Like the 'Stevie' thing.
He hadn't even thought, he'd just said it. His mind had seemed to slip into a time long passed.
He couldn't let Steve know who he'd once been. He knew that The Captain didn't dislike Winter, but if he knew…
When he looked at Winter he'd just see his friend's grave. He'd see exactly how much of a monster Winter was. And Winter just couldn't stand to let that happen.
He didn't want Steve to hate him, even if he deserved it. And Winter did deserve hate, he knew how many awful things he'd done.
He was dragged from his thoughts by the future starting again. Okay, that sounded wrong. He was dragged from his thoughts by the movie of the future starting up again.
Steve Rogers: What?
Oh yeah, Steve had been just about to be kissed. That was definitely what had caused Winter to slip up before, it had dragged up old memories from his past. And henceforth his slip up.
It was still amusing though, especially because he now knew the red color on Steve's face wasn't because he was dying. If Steve did die, that would definitely put a damper on the mood.
Stark and Maybe- Archer Clint seemed to have remembered the same thing Winter had, because they both started snickering. The Captain just groaned and dropped his head into his hands, his face a bright crimson. Okay, that couldn't be healthy.
Natasha Romanoff: Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable.
Even Winter snickered at that, and Steve groaned loudly- making Stark nearly fall off of his chair, again.
"Yes, they do!" Steve exclaimed pointedly glaring at Natasha, who just smirked. Winter could no longer resist the urge to tease Steve, knowing it was a bad idea- mainly because it would make him slip back into his old self's speech and behavior.
"What? You don't want to get kissed by the pretty lady?" Winter asked quietly, he8d never been more thankful that the mask muffled his speech, because he knew that his voice had reverted back to its old accent. Which was odd, but.. he'd worry about that later.
Laughter was coming from Stark and Maybe- Archer Clint, as they both watched The Hydra Assassin and Captain America engage in a sarcastic battle of wits.
"What, do you?" Steve shot back and Winter was left searching for a response to that, and Natasha's laughter really wasn't helping.
"Oh yes, because shooting someone totally means I want to date them." Winter said with a smirk after a moment, hoping he hadn't offended Natasha. But he assumed he hadn't, for she only laughed harder as Steve was left speechless for a moment.
"Well, you never know with assassins…" He trailed off purposely, and Winter thought The Captain looked really smug. Winter pouted a little under his mask/muzzle thing. Really, what was it? He would call it a muffler, but he was pretty sure something already existed with that name.
Steve Rogers: Yes, they do. [she quickly pulls down Steve's head and kisses him making Rumlow look away as he goes past them on the escalator]
"Don't repeat yourself." Said Maybe- Archer Clint, grinning at Steve how just buried his face farther into his cupped hands.
This only earned even louder laughter from Stark, and Winter noticed that even Brice had a small smile on his face.
Winter wasn't sure if he was the only one who saw Maybe- Archer Clint lean towards Natasha and whisper something that made the female blush brightly. He could listen in.. he kinda wanted to. But he was probably better off not knowing. From some of the missions Hydra had sent him on, he knew what couples looked like. He'd been forced to spy on a certain man and his wife. And Winter would have better peace of mind if he could re- forget what the dude had said to the lady.
He suppressed a shudder, remembering exactly what the guy had ended up doing. Honestly, if he was going to have his mind wiped, he'd be glad to forget that.
And from what his heightened hearing could pick up from Maybe- Archer Clint's voice, he was pretty sure it was similar to the man's.
Hopefully Steve didn't overhear any of his teammate's whispered conversation, Winter knew he didn't remember everything. But he was pretty sure Steve had been fairly innocent when it came to these things, his only real crush having been Peggy.
Winter suppressed the urge to reach over and cover The Captain's ears.
Natasha Romanoff: You still uncomfortable?
Steve Rogers: It's not exactly the word I would use.
"Then what word would you use?" Stark asked, seeming to enjoy how Steve groaned louder and refused to move his face from his hands. To be honest, Winter enjoyed the look on The Captain's face too.
"Yes, what word would you use?" Maybe- Archer Clint joined in on the 'Mock Captain America' club. Winter was pretty sure that was a thing, anyway. Maybe they'd make it an official thing before the end of the movie?
Steve groaned, raising his face from his hands. "Inappropriate. That's the word I'd use." He grumbled, earning a mocking pay on the back from Winter.
This only made the blond man groan louder. "What is this, the 'Mock Captain America' club?" He grumbled, and Winter wondered how Steve had even known about that.
"Huh? How do you even know about that?" Stark asked, and he, like Winter, seemed to be enjoying The Captain's confused look. Winter decided he might as well play along.
"Yeah, we thought we'd kept it a secret." Winter joined in, earning an even eviler shine in Stark's eyes. Steve spluttered, stuttering out a few 'whats' and 'hows', obviously having not come to the realization that they were messing with him.
"Natasha, did you tell him?" Maybe- Archer Clint asked, sending a mock suspicious look at Natasha.
Winter watched the other assassin fake a look of confusion and shake her head. "Wasn't me. Bruce, did you do it?" She asked, turning her sharp green gaze towards the quiet guy. Winter hoped he'd play along.
Bruce just shook his head, then gained a soft smile. "No. It was most likely Winter." He gestured towards Winter, who was still leaning into The Captain and had an arm over Steve's shoulders. (Accidentally almost put 'boulders' instead of 'shoulders' it was a very messed up moment).
Winter grumbled at Bruce, putting a hand over his heart in what he remembered meant offense. "Hey! Wasn't me."
"Wait- when did you even have time to create a club, Winter's been by me the whole time." Steve pointed out, and Winter didn't speak for a second, hoping Natasha would come up with something.
"I told him in Russian." Natasha said like it was the most obvious thing in the world, and Winter nodded. Steve looked so confused. It was wonderful.
[as they drive to New Jersey]
Natasha Romanoff: Where did Captain America learn how to steal a car?
Winter suppressed a huff, he knew exactly how Steve had learned, after all, he vaguely remembered teaching him. He only remembered bits and pieces, but he did remember that. After all, stealing a car was a very important skill.
Steve seemed to be remembering the same thing, and Stark was looking at The Captain, curiosity in his brown eyes.
"How did you learn to steal a car?" Stark asked imploringly, and Winter remembered his father using the same voice. He forced himself not to flinch, he'd have to apologize to Stark later.
Steve sighed, rubbing his forehead. "It was Bucky, actually." The Captain's voice was fond, and Winter listened curiously, wondering what Steve's thoughts about it were. Winter's former name caused everyone to perk up, Natasha even tilted her head like a cat. "He insisted on stealing it from the Nazi's. Had a darn good time doing it too. I was forced to be the diversion." Despite the fact that Steve rolled his eyes, Winter could tell he was actually quite fond of the memory.
So, success then? Winter wished he could congratulate his past self. Teaching someone to steal a car was a great honor.
Snickers went up around the room, and Steve shook his head.
Steve Rogers: Nazi Germany.
Natasha Romanoff: Mm.
Steve Rogers: And we're borrowing. Take your feet off the dash.
So much for that hard earned success, Winter thought sulkily. Whatever, Steve had still stolen a car, despite what he might claim. He hadn't asked for permission, so it was.. temporary theft.
"Yeah, sure." Natasha snickered, earning a sulky look from The Captain America.
[Natasha takes her feet off the dash]
Maybe- Archer Clint looked as if he wanted to say something, but went quiet at the glare he was sent by the red- head. "Don't. Say. A. Word." Natasha grumbled, and Winter could bet that the threat in her voice wasn't false. Stark seemed to be trying not to snicker, obviously aware that Natasha would hurt him.
Natasha Romanoff: Alright, I have a question for you, oh, which you do not have to answer. I feel like if you don't answer it though, you're kind of answering it, you know?
Winter could practically feel the trepidation coming off of Steve in waves, as the Captain sent Natasha a suspicious look. The female assassin just smirked at Steve. If Winter was Steve, he'd be scared too.
Steve Rogers: What?
Natasha Romanoff: Was that your first kiss since 1945?
Winter practically choked, from what he knew from his time as Bucky, Steve had never actually kissed someone. Was that really The Captain's first kiss? Because that was.. pathetic really. But hilarious. Winter was really enjoying his time free from Hydra's clutches.
Stark was laughing loudly, and Steve's face had turned that unhealthy shade of red again. Honestly, Winter was worried all of Steve's blood would just end up staying in his head one day. And then The Captain would die.
Steve Rogers: That bad, huh?
Natasha Romanoff: I didn't say that.
".. Then what were you saying?" Stark snickered, and Winter blinked owlishly at The Other Assassin. But she was with The Archer, right? And the idea of anyone enjoying kissing Steve… It was just too weird! From all his memories of Steve with girls, he was always just small and awkward. Well, until Peggy had come along anyway. But still- he vaguely remembered Steve as a kid, playing with worms.
Natasha just smirked at Stark, and Steve looked like he'd rather be anywhere else.
Steve Rogers: Well, it kind of sounds like that's what you're saying.
Natasha Romanoff: No, I didn't. I just wondered how much practice you've had.
Aw, she'd been lying. That made a lot more sense, and Maybe- Archer Clint looked satisfied in an evil way. And Winter had to wipe his mind of a sick image of the man and woman he'd once spied on, but instead of it being to complete strangers, it was now Natasha and Maybe- Archer Clint.
Goodness, he really wanted to jump into the awful chair and get that out of his head. Even if he'd forget some other things, he really wanted to get that disgusting image out of his head.
Meanwhile, it seemed like Steve was muttering something about 'practice'. And Winter had to bite back a snicker at some of the things The Captain was muttering, obviously unaware that Winter could hear him.
Steve Rogers: You don't need practice.
Natasha Romanoff: Everybody needs practice.
This time Winter had to clench the arm of his seat with his metal arm to stop himself from falling out of his seat from coughed laughter, it seemed like Stark and Maybe- Archer Clint were having the same problem.
Winter was careful to keep his human hand from locking on Steve's shoulder too hard as he tried to keep himself from falling over. Steve reached over with a sigh, and helped hold Winter still while he shook with laughter.
This for some reason, only made him laugh harder. Soon enough Steve was snickering to, probably only because of Winter's current predicament. But still. Winter fought for breath as his body shook like a leaf in strong winds. He could tell Stark and Maybe- Archer Clint had looked up and seen what was going on, and the two were now rolling around on the floor from laughter.
Winter couldn't even blame them, after all, his past self probably would have reacted the same at seeing a highly dangerous assassin nearly die from laughter. Of course, this just made him wheeze even more.
He felt Steve's hold tighten as Winter started laughing even harder. Winter managed to catch the look of shocked amusement on Steve's face, obviously he hadn't been expecting this. This, of course, only made him laugh harder.
Winter's eyes somehow managed to catch Steve's, and apparently something in Winter's eyes caused Steve to start full out laughing too, this caused the minor problem of Steve shaking too. So there was nothing keeping either of them from falling out of their chairs except for Winter's metal hand which was still locked on his chair in a vice grip.
They both seemed to notice this at the same time, but it only caused them to laugh harder. Steve was the first to fall, dragging Winter with him.
In the end, both of them laid on the floor. And because of the position they'd been in before they'd fallen, they were in a very ridiculous position. Winter's human hand was trapped under Steve. Winter had landed on his stomach, and Steve had landed on his back. So Steve's hand and arm was also trapped under Winter. The weirdest part was the fact that Winter had landed half on top of Steve. Also, there was the fact that Winter's metal hand was still locked onto the arm of the chair.
They both took this in at the same time, but instead of jumping apart like any normal humans would have, this only caused them to laugh harder.
Winter noticed that Natasha seemed to be struggling to not fall out of her seat, and even Bruce was having trouble keeping his laughter within control. Stark and Maybe- Archer Clint were rolling around even more now, having seen Winter and Steve's fall. Of course, this caused them to laugh harder too.
Steve seemed to have noticed the same thing, and Winter and him locked eyes again. Causing another fit of uncontrollable laughter.
Thankfully, it seemed the screen had paused, so they weren't missing anything.
They laughed for around five more minutes, and whenever one of them would gain control, they'd accidentally meet eyes with someone else's causing them to double over laughing again. The only reason they ever gained control was the fact that there was a snap followed by an unknown male voice.
"Of my goodness! Control yourselves, Sylvia leaves you alone for a few seconds and this happens!" The voice exclaimed, and Winter managed to look around for whoever it was between sprouts of laughter. It was a teenager, the same age as the girl, he was tall. The newcomer had messy red hair and green eyes, and a light dusting of freckles across his nose and cheekbones.
Winter felt satisfaction at the kid's face as he took in Steve and Winter's position, then joined them in their laughter.
Winter laughed until his throat felt raw, it was just too hard to control. Of course, the kid's arrival had only made everyone laugh more. They weren't worried, the kid probably knew the girl. Huh, the kid had mentioned a 'Sylvia' maybe that was her name?
After a long while, the group regained control of themselves. And the kid introduced himself as 'Felix'. Winter remembered the girl- who was possibly Sylvia- mentioning that name. The mind reader, yay.
Everyone eventually got back into their seats, Winter yawned tiredly.
He sat back down, all that laughing had seriously tired him out. He couldn't remember being happy like that since.. well, since before.
Steve was back in his spot on the chair next to him. Winter didn't even try to fight himself as he let himself lean into the Captain's shoulder, to warn out to sit straight up. Obviously, he could if he'd wanted to, but he didn't feel like it. It was nice to have that kind of freedom.
Steve didn't seem to mind, slinging an arm over Winter's shoulder absentmindedly, not seeming to care that his hand was only inches away from Winter's metal arm.
Felix smirked, then snapped out of the room.
Steve Rogers: It was not my first kiss since 1945. I'm ninety-five, I'm not dead.
Thankfully, everyone was too tired to even laugh at that. So no one fell out of their chair.
But Stark managed a tired smirk. "Oh really, pray tell." The billionaire demanded in an annoying voice.
"Ha, no." Steve said without seeming to have to think about it. Winter would pry that story out of him sometime during the watching of future.
Natasha Romanoff: Nobody special, though? [Steve chuckles]
Steve Rogers: Believe it or not, it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience.
"Touché." Natasha said, smirking. She was leaning against Clint, her green eyes tired. Steve huffed, and Winter smirked under his muzzle.
Natasha Romanoff: Well, that's alright, you can just make something up.
"So, lying. That's your go to?" Steve asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow at Natasha.
"Yes. You need practice." She said aptly, and Steve shook his head, but Winter nodded in agreement.
"Yes, you do need lie training." Winter said, turning his head a little to look the Captain in the eyes, said Captain just groaned.
"Winter, that's not even a thing." Steve tried to reason with him, but Winter wasn't having it.
"It is now." Winter said, smirking under his muzzle, Steve just groaned again.
Steve Rogers: What, like you?
Natasha Romanoff: I don't know. The truth is a matter of circumstances, it's not all things to all people all the time. And neither am I.
Steve Rogers: That's a tough way to live.
Natasha Romanoff: It's a good way not to die, though.
"She's not wrong." Winter said, and even though he hadn't had much time to survive away from Hydra, he did know what the woman said was true. Many, many people had died at his hand by not following what Natasha had said.
And of course, Winter knew these things. Even if he didn't have to survive the outside world in that way, he still had to survive Hydra- and that was no walk in the park.
Steve gave him a tried, sad look, his hand rubbing Winter's shoulder carefully. He was obviously aware of where Winter's metal arm was attached.
Steve Rogers: You know, it's kind of hard to trust someone when you don't know who that someone really is.
Ouch. It was like Natasha's future self was trying to target him. Winter knew it was hard to trust him, he didn't know why Steve was even trying. After all, they still didn't know who he was.
Obviously Natasha was thinking along the same line, as the two assassin's eyes met. Her gaze was challenging, as if to say, 'Well, what are you going to do now?' Winter bit back a sigh. He wasn't ready for that, he didn't think he ever would be. It was just too much.
He didn't want them to hate him, and after he was revealed, he would have to make it even worse by apologizing to Stark. But it was better than letting Stark find out someday, when he was all alone. Winter knew how easy it was to give in to blind rage, and if they knew who he was- well, Stark would target Steve, since Winter didn't intend on living that long.
Winter tore his eyes away from Natasha, his eyes meeting Steve's. They held such a sad look in them. And Winter's hand rose of its own accord to fiddle with the muzzle, it was hard and uncomfortable on his face. He was pretty sure it was cutting into his face, actually. But without it…
Steve grabbed his human arm, pulling it down carefully. "You don't have to." Was all the blond said, but Winter had never been so stunned. Why was Steve so forgiving? So understanding? So darn trusting? It would get him killed one day.
Natasha Romanoff: Yeah. Who do you want me to be?
Steve Rogers: How about a friend? [Natasha laughs softly]
Natasha Romanoff: Well, there's a chance you might be in the wrong business, Rogers.
Steve huffed at that, rolling his eyes at Natasha. And Natasha had a small smirk on her face.
