I used an internet translator to try and find the proper Jamacian words for my OC to speak in this chapter. She says "Well wah gwan dere handsome." In Jamaican Patios (so says the translator) Which is supposed to translate to "Well hello there handsome." In English. If it doesn't I am sorry and please feel free to send me the correct translation if you know it.

Chapter Ten

With that knowledge and a single deep breath I closed my eyes and mentally willed myself to where I could now, thanks to Atlantis, I could sense John's presence. I was only a little surprised to open my eyes and discover myself behind John, Doctor Weir, and another soldier who were currently researching other planets on one of the many computers in Atlantis.

"-no not really an option." John was saying as I grabbed ahold of the wall closest to me to try and keep myself upright.

"There is no need for another option. I've managed to complete all of the Ancient's hand-held weapons and I can charge the city's shield as well as launch attacks at the Wraith Hive ships as long as-" I got that far before I saw black spots dancing in front of my eyes causing me to pause and close my eyes as I hunched over trying to keep myself awake.

"Randy? Randy! Where the heck have you been?" John demanded his voice, sounding like it was coming through a bunch of water while I felt arms grab me to keep me from just falling over. Taking several quick breaths I stood as upright as I could and managed to speak,

"Look I'm sure you're wondering - ….it's not your fault. Turns out the Ancient woman ... possessed me and helped raise Atlantis a distant relative ... she was hoping to get my body….. she failed. I got struck by lightning, gained superpowers…. Atlantis will obey me now and I have access to every Atlantean database here... I planted all the seeds I bought on Earth… they're ready to harvest and eat. But I need about 24 more hours of sleep and at least one huge decent meal...I'll tell y'all more when I wake up." I got out before I fell backwards into the darkness.

The odd thing is while I was unconscious I could feel my body healing rapidly thanks to the Ancients DNA making my body stronger, faster and all of my senses were more heightened. I could literally smell scents and my brain with all of its new activity was actually placing the smells which was neat but annoying as the scent information was clashing with all the information that Atlantis was downloading directly into my brain about itself and the history of the Ancients and everything else that had ever been entered into its database.

It was like a horrible nightmare that I couldn't wake up from so I gave up attempting to comprehend everything that was running through my head and just made a mental chair and television set and 'watched' movies that I had seen back on Earth as I waited to wake up.

I was halfway through watching another Tom and Jerry episode when a familiar scent reached my nose and pulled me out of my mental recliner and into the real world.

"Coffee!" I hollered jerking up into a sitting position as I woke up, my eyes flying open and my hands already coming up to grab at the air in my eagerness to drink the hot goodness that I had been craving ever since I had my last cup on Earth several months ago.

"Whoa! Whoa take it easy Randy." John said from my left, causing me to blink and turn my gaze towards him as I realized I had been dreaming about smelling the coffee because unless someone else knew how to make coffee from the beans there was most likely no coffee left from the little they had brought with them.

"Oh.." I muttered, rubbing the back of my neck in embarrassment as I grinned at John who handed me a cup of water to drink while he told a nurse to go get the doctor.

"Are you okay?" John asked, giving me a searching look, his eyes full of various unspoken questions.

I paused and glanced down at my body. I didn't feel any pain but just to make sure I experimentally began moving my arms and legs.

"Well I'm not in pain anymore but I am starving." I replied, my stomach growling loudly in agreement.

"Hey Tayla, could you pick up a plate of food from the mess hall for Randy?" John said into thin air causing me to give him a look before remembering the comms and realizing he must have been speaking into his.

Glancing around me I realized that what had once been a storage room of sorts to the Ancients had now been made into a hospital wing.

"I wonder if I should tell them about the actual hospital buildings here in Atlantis or just let them continue to make changes that suit them?" I wondered as I pulled out the needle in my arm that was hooked to the IV drip much to John's dismay.

"Randy you should keep that needle in, it's helping to give you fluids." John said chidingly just as several people including Tayla, made their way over to the bed I was currently sitting up on.

"Here is your tray of food Randy. How are you feeling?" Tayla asked me as she handed me the tray and squeezed my shoulder before moving over to stand beside John, resting a hand on his shoulder.

I paused the forkful of food almost in my mouth, turning my eyes to Tayla but they got caught on a tall handsome man with dreadlocks, the dreadlocks reminding me of my time in Jamaica. Intending it only for fun I gave the guy a flirty grin,

"Well wah gwan dere handsome." I said, adding a flirty wink. I was surprised when his face went pale and I saw John's head turn towards the guy so fast I heard his neck pop. While I was curious why the reactions, I decided to ignore them in favor of eating the delicious food that was sitting on my lap.

Taking the first bite of real food in several months and my eyes closed as my tongue sang praises while my stomach urged me to swallow quicker.

I couldn't stop after my first forkful and practically inhaled the entire tray of food before finally sitting back and drinking some of the water that John had handed me earlier.

It was then that I noticed the strange hush that had fallen and peeled my eyes open, having kept them closed in contentment enjoying the lingering taste of food on my tongue. Looking around I realized that everyone was staring at the handsome guy with dreadlocks that was slowly regaining his face color.

I opened my mouth to ask what was happening when another man walked into the room and over to my bed. He reminded me of the very intellectual but sarcastic and proud doctors I had met before. He wasn't wearing the traditional white doctor coat but figuring he was probably the doctor I spoke,

"What's up doc?"

I don't know what it triggered in him but his face suddenly went ashen and he dropped like a stone to the ground unconscious a nearby nurse just barely catching his head before it slammed into the floor.

"Okay seriously what the heck is going on here?!" I demanded not really looking for answers from my brother or any of the other humans but rather the Atlantis itself to clue me in on what was happening.
