I'm changing the name from 'Atlanteans to Ancient's to Lanteans' on purpose to show how Randy's brain is slowly connecting all the information that she has access to without her conscious effort or knowledge.

Chapter Thirteen

"Randy! Focus. Can you tell us what changes you made, if you made any and what all you did while we forgot about your existence?"

John asked, sounding a mixture of amused, annoyed and curious pulling me out of my thoughts of all the delicious food that I could possibly make from the matured plants I had planted.

It was then that I realized just how much saliva had pooled into my mouth and swallowed several times to get rid of it while simultaneously wiping my chin just in case I accidentally let any drool escape my mouth before speaking,

"Well I did completely fix up the automated defense systems that was set up around Atlantis. It was never completed before the Lanteans had to leave here but all the material was here so it was easy to finish. Let's see... before that when Y was directing me on what to do I managed to finish fixing up the hand held weapons that the Lanteans took with them everywhere. Also while I was in the bio lab I had just started looking into the biological weapon that was supposed to target specific DNA traits that they were hoping to use against the Wraith but they never actually got to begin working on it as they were being attacked by the Wraith at the time. I have no idea if it would have/will work because I literally only just got started reading the formula when the lightning struck." I said my stomach growling again causing me to turn a wide-eyed puppy dog look towards my brother who rolled his eyes before motioning for me to follow him.

"Sorry Doctor Weir but if she doesn't get food whenever she's hungry bad things usually happen so I'll take her to get some food, don't worry I won't let her out of my sight." John said, giving me a look that made me roll my eyes back at him but nod in agreement to his silent directive to not transport myself anywhere without him.

"John shouldn't you let Ronan and Rodney escort Randy to the mess hall?" Teyla asked cautiously cluing me into what the names of my soulmates were which made me snicker as I realized we all had first names beginning with R's.

"Wow. Ronan, Randy and Rodney we could name ourselves Triple R -wait if we have any kids do not expect me to come up with more R names that would be- actually that would be kind of funny we could be known as the R-rated Clan and go crazy fighting the Wraith and Replicators and the stupid faction of Lanteans maybe even-…..John I'm starving you know my hunger causes me to lose control of what comes out of my mouth. We need to get moving." I said, ushering John out the door as fast as I could shove him not daring to look anyone in the eyes.

"Whoa what's this about Replicators and an idiotic faction of 'Lanteans' who are the Lanteans?" Doctor Weir asked, causing me to halt with one foot out of her office door.

Turning sideways to answer her questions quickly while hoping I would still be able to leave to get food I replied,

"Replicators are something that the Lanteans are also known as the Ancients and Atlanteans, created to fight against the Wraith I'm not entirely sure what their made up of but I think it's something like little computers or little robots that make one big one, anyway they were used to create a copy of a real Ancient making the Replicators behave, think and act the same way the real human version does only difference is the Replicators are forced to forever fight the Wraith as they cannot be eaten by the Wraith. However the Wraith managed to shut off the attacking mode on the Replicators somehow and now the Replicators are attacking the Lanteans I'm not sure of all the in-between information right now because my brain is still processing information and even I didn't know I knew all of this- OHHHHH PICKLED FISH TURDS that information can't be right! I need to seriously take a deeper look into the database to confirm what just came to my mind but if it's true then a lot of the crap that has happened to this Galaxy has been the fault of the Ancients. Until I am able to eat and look deeper into the database this is all the information I can give you for now. Byeeee!" I called out waving goodbye as I shoved John further down the hallway closing Doctor Weir's office door behind us.

As John and I walked down the halls, John taking the lead since he knew where the mess hall was there was a brief moment of silence between us as I took a quick minute to have the Atlantis database send everything that fit within certain parameters into a folder in the database with my name on it so I would be able to find it easily. After making sure that only I would be able to access it I stepped up beside John and looped my arm around his ready to pepper him with questions and bring myself up to speed on his life.

"What have you been up to? And how have things been going with you and Teyla?" I asked curiously, hoping that things had been going well for John and Teyla. When I had talked to her, granted it was only the once, but she seemed really nice and I was hoping that John wasn't experiencing any hardships with his soulmate.

"Things have been going pretty good, we're taking it slow and really just getting to know each other before we get into a more physical relationship. I don't know if you know but she's the leader of the Athosian people and she's also a member of my specialized team so that's been a bit challenging for me. I mean she can take care of herself and I know she can, we do weapons training together. It's just- I constantly worry about her and I know that annoys her because it makes her think that I don't think she can take care of herself but you know me I like-" John paused here to try and look for the words he wanted.

"You like to be the protector, the one who looks out for the others and saves the day. And you're more gravitated to keeping women safe due to our-..past. I know John, it's just behavior that came from how we were raised that has followed you all of your life." I said, finishing his sentence causing him to nod in agreement.

"Have you guys talked about the past yet? About mother or him?" I asked gently, wondering just how deep they had gone when talking. Our past was not something we liked to talk about to anyone, sometimes not even each other. And even between the two of us there was some secrets I had never told John and I'm sure the same was true for him as well.

"She's told me about her parents, they're both dead now. And I did tell her about my terrible relationship with our younger half brother and our current stepmother who's younger than us but when it comes to talking about mom...it's just hard to bring up. And I don't care enough about our dad to bother bringing him into a conversation." John said, I nodded in agreement at the thought of talking about our womanizing jerk of a father.

"Oh no!" I said stopping mid-step as I got hit with a sudden horrible realization.

"What?" John asked, stopping and turning towards me immediately, his one hand going to the holster on his hip.

"I have TWO! Two soulmates that I'll need to talk to about our past with and allow myself to get emotionally involved with! You know how much I suck at getting emotionally involved with people!" I said as I staggered at the realization while John nodded sympathetically knowing just how bad I was at emotionally getting involved with other people. Animals I had no problem getting attached to but people other than John got a solid pass from me.

Ever since our mother had died when we were ten I had emotionally pulled away from everyone but my twin. Even the men I had dated in the past I had never gotten emotionally involved with. It was mainly just for pleasure of flesh and companionship; there was no emotional attachment between us. I always made sure they knew that going into any of the relationships I've had.

"Well maybe because they're your soulmates it will be easier for you to open up to them?" John said, sounding unsure but trying to be encouraging.

"Yeah there's always that possibility." I muttered in half-hearted agreement as we started walking again.

Turning the last corner I smelt the food from the mess hall ahead and I began to walk faster, my hunger urging me onward as my stomach, which hadn't stopped growling began to grow louder the closer I got.

"Randy, the food isn't going to run away, you can slow down!" John called out from behind me causing me to pause and turn sideways so I could see him and stopped moving immediately. Turning fully towards him I watched as he continued running to catch up with me letting me know I had unknowingly broken out into a run which made me giggle.

"Sorry John, I'm just starving. The only thing I ingested was these protein rich powder shakes that I had to add water to. They weren't made for pleasure of taste or texture, just being as rich in nutrients and proteins as possible." I replied, feeling my nose crinkle as I thought of the nasty tasting powder. As soon as he caught up to me we began walking forwards again at a normal walking pace and finally reached the mess hall.
