You may notice that Randy will continue (for the rest of this story) to switch between what she calls the Ancients this is because they are all different names for the same race of people so she sees no difference in what they are called. You may also notice in this chapter and future chapters that Randy begins to display a bit of a habit to start talking out-loud only to continue the thoughts in her mind or vis-versa when that happens the thought part will always be in Italic's.

Chapter Sixteen

"So what's your field of expertise?" I asked him as I began to type in the formula to separate the Wraith DNA strands that I would try out as soon as all of the blood was drained from the Wraith.

"I have extensive education, training and first-hand experience in the field of Astrophysics as well as PHD's in Physics and Mechanical Engineering. I'm also one of the leading experts on the Stargates and wormhole physics also on the Ancients and nanite technology."

I was surprised by the large amount of education he had had and was hopeful that he would be able to help me with my future endeavors but first...

"Good, before we get started with anything else we need to clean up this laboratory. Don't worry everything that's toxic, highly flammable or experimental are in safety cube's behind the walls so none of them were damaged when the lightning came through here." I said I wanted to reassure him although I realized it was a bit late as we had been in the lab for several minutes, maybe even hours now.

"Okay how are we going to clean this up?" He asked looking at the floor which was covered with shards of glass and various chemicals as were many of the waist level surfaces.

"Actually we don't have to, the Ancients built robots for this we just need to let them do their work so lets go to the greenhouse and start harvesting the plants so nothing goes to waste." I said as I had Atlantis activate the cleaning robots and Rodney and I watched them come out of what seemed to be small cube's in the walls. They made a light humming noise as they began to unfold themselves before I realized that we should leave and began to gesture for Rodney to go in front of me.

"Won't they disturb the Wraith's body?" Rodney asked me as he stopped at the doorway and turned around to see me as I was right behind him.

"No, they'll clean around his body. They're built with basically an AI and since I'm connected to Atlantis I can update their programming and information at my leisure." I replied, glancing back at the robots who were now unfolded and beginning to move around ready to start cleaning.

"Oh right. I keep forgetting about that...is it weird?" Rodney asked bluntly, causing me to grin. Thankful that he wasn't one of the ones who beat around the bush although I did it sometimes I hated it when others did it to me. John always told me I had a double standard but I told him it was because I didn't care what I was asked but there were some very sensitive people that you couldn't ask certain things to directly. Realizing I was going off on a mental rabbit trail again I forced myself to focus on Rodney so I would stay in the present.

"Yes it's a bit odd and I don't think I'll ever really get used to it." I replied as I led the way to the Greenhouse as we began to exit the building I realized that I should probably give Ronan and John a heads up so they didn't freak out if they went to the empty biochemical lab.

Shrugging my shoulders I figured they could always just ask Rodney over the comms so I focused on walking over to the Greenhouse building thankful that the glass on the Greenhouse was reinforced multiple times so it wouldn't break easily. The loss of everything I had planted would have been devastating…

"To me anyway.." I muttered in self defense before realizing that I was also the one being judgmental which meant that I had just defended myself from myself.

*Well that's just great.*

As soon as we went inside of the Greenhouse I began to drool at all the delicious smells that were hitting my nose.

"I think we're going to need help gathering everything." Rodney said as he came to a stop beside me and took in the huge greenhouse, the plant's that I had planted didn't even take up a fourth of the building but I was hoping that with some help we could plant more of everything so we would have a larger crop of the smaller plants and move the tree's and vine plants to actual land.

"Do you know anyone that is able to help? I don't want to take anyone away from their assigned tasks." I said as I went to the corner and pulled out two baskets so we could begin to harvest the fruits of my labor.

"I'm sure many of the Athosian people would be willing to help. I'll have Teyla ask them." Rodney replied as he reached for his comm.

"Okay I'm going to start on with the berries." I said pointing in the general direction of where I had planted the strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, blackberries etc.

Seeing Rodney give me a nod I took off with the basket and made it to the 'Berry Corner' as I had mentally dubbed it while planting everything. I felt some drool escape my mouth as I saw the large amount of deliciously ripe berries.

Swallowing hard, I allowed myself only two from each berry bush. I was only 16 plants in and my basket, which could hold four gallons according to Atlantis calculations, was almost spilling out of my basket.

As I walked back to the front I began to do the math in my head and realized that the yield I was getting from each bush was actually more than normal yield of 1 pint per plant because it took 8 pints to make a gallon and my basket could hold four...shaking my head I gave up on the math and went straight into Atlantis information.

I was pleasantly surprised to realize that they had created a specific type of fertilizer that actually almost doubled the yield a plant could give but if the fertilizer was used non-stop it would actually kill the plant. If it was used one time and then not again the increase of the crop would actually naturally continue to increase slowly on it's own.

Keeping that in mind so I would remember to both tell whoever would be in charge of the plants and remove the fertilizer, hiding it away so it wouldn't accidentally get used again so we didn't ruin our crops I blinked as the low muttering of multiple voices reached my ears.

Walking around the corner of the last row of plants I saw Rodney talking to a large group of people that I presumed to be the Athosians. I felt a little relieved to see how many people were going to be helping us harvest the large amount of things I had planted as I was anxious to get done and get back to the lab. Pulling out of my thoughts I realized some of the Athosians were staring at me and after a few seconds Rodney turned his head and saw me.

"Randy these are the Athosians who are going to be helping us." Rodney said as he gestured for me to come over.

As I came to a stop beside Rodney I felt Atlantis alert me that the robots were done cleaning up the bio lab. Knowing that I needed to get started working on the many complete and incomplete formulas that the Atlantians had been in the process of creating to try and defeat the Wraith during the war I nodded to the large group of people who were now giving me their full attention.

"Hello everyone thank you for your help. I have just been alerted that there is somewhere else we should return to as soon as possible so if you'll all grab a basket and follow me I'll do a quick walkthrough and show you what to look for in each plant, fruit, herb or vegetable. If you have any questions please ask them and I'll answer to the best of my ability." I said, setting down my full basket of strawberries and motioning for everyone to grab a basket as I grabbed another one for myself.

After doing a quick walkthrough as I could and making sure everyone knew what they were looking for and answering the few questions that had been asked we all began to gather as quickly as we could.

After carrying yet another full basket to the front of the Greenhouse to set it with the others I realized that we would need a much faster way to transport all the full baskets over to the main control tower which is where we were all living at the moment. Taking a moment I ran through the general information of the Greenhouse and I discovered that large motorized carts had been made and used to transport food from the Greenhouse to the entire city of Atlantis.
