Ranger School: Chapter 19
The duo was silent for a short while, taking in the tragedies that both of their childhoods were. However, one thing that was certainly a positive aspect for Kellyn and Wendy was that they didn't let the negative and horrid aspects of their younger days affect them as they get older. Eventually Kellyn decided to break the silence and cleared his throat, figuring that saying something was better than continuing the silence.
"Wendy…thank you…" Kellyn said.
"Of course Kellyn, I'm glad to be by your side no matter what happens!" Wendy said.
The two continued their loving embrace for some time as the Ferris Wheel's operation fully returned to normal. Several minutes later, the Ferris Wheel's ride concluded and everyone exited the ride as their time to step off had arrived. Despite the initial problem with the Ferris Wheel being stalled, neither Kellyn or Wendy let that deter them one bit, and when they got off the ride, they went over to a nearby stall selling cotton candy with the shape of Vanillish, with the vendor also adding some whipped cream to make the delicious dessert look just like the Pokémon itself.
Kellyn and Wendy went over to the vendor and ordered themselves cotton candy. The duo began to enjoy the snack once it was finished being made, though once they were completely done with eating, to Kellyn's amusement, there was a small amount of whipped cream left on Wendy's lips. Of course, such a thing completely struck Kellyn off guard, though Wendy was seemingly oblivious to the whipped cream on her lips.
"Hm? What's wrong Kellyn? Is there something on my face?" Wendy asked.
"Well…you did leave some whipped cream on your mouth…" Kellyn sheepishly said as Wendy giggled.
"Oh really? I did? How careless of me…maybe you can help me?" Wendy asked as Kellyn became flustered.
Kellyn leaned in for a kiss, and gave Wendy a quick peck on her lips. While to some, it may have appeared to be a kiss without any sparks flying, but on the contrary, both Wendy and Kellyn had sparks flying after that soft kiss.
The two Student Rangers were as red as Tamato berries from the subtle smooch, and this time, Kellyn kissed Wendy more passionately as the latter happily did the same.
The two continued to kiss for a short while longer, and were locked in an embrace as they wordlessly and lovingly held each other.
This time however, Kellyn was the first to speak up as he gave Wendy a small smile.
"I…I'd say your lips are clean now." Kellyn said as Wendy smiled back at him.
"I'd say that they are…and you know Kellyn, it's funny but…I felt a strong connection with you the moment I laid eyes on you." Wendy said.
"I'm glad that you did, in fact, I can't even imagine how my life at the Ranger School would've been if you didn't talk to me first. I'm so grateful for you." Kellyn said.
The duo then released from their endearing embrace and began to hold hands as they walked around the fairgrounds.
Afterwards, Kellyn and Wendy enjoyed doing many things at the fairgrounds, such as playing bumper cars and riding on the Pokémon Merry-Go-Round. Eventually, the two decided to leave the fair, though of course, Linda was trailing behind them without their knowledge.
'They had their little fun at the fair…where do they plan on going to next?' Linda thought as she lurked nearby.
A few minutes later, Kellyn and Wendy had reached a small café just as the area was being darkened due to an overcast. The two of them were happy at their good timing and ordered some berry and cheese sandwiches with tea.
As Kellyn and Wendy waited for their food to arrive, they didn't notice Linda was also in the café, acting casual as she positioned herself in a way that neither Student Ranger would really find strange.
Trying to not further arouse suspicion, Linda ordered a dessert while the duo's food had arrived. Kellyn and Wendy began to enjoy their food while Linda watched them from time to time. Eventually the pair had finished eating and soon paid for their meal before leaving the café. Linda also finished up at that time and began to leave, though the waiter called out to her as she had forgot to pay.
"Excuse me miss, did you perhaps forget to pay for your dessert?" The waiter asked.
"Oh…sorry, let me do so…" Linda said as she grumbled while reaching for Poké to pay for her snack.
Once Linda gave the waiter the desired amount, she decided to hurry up and leave so she could catch up to Kellyn and Wendy. Unfortunately for our duo, Linda wasn't one to give up, and trailed them as Wendy discussed what else they could do.
"Say Kellyn, I'm certain there's a place that you and I would both love to go to." Wendy said as Kellyn scratched his hair.
"Hmm, well you're not wrong there Wendy…perhaps we can head to Altru Park? It's always beautiful there, and they do have lots of gazebos for shelter in case it decides to rain." Kellyn said.
Wendy's face lit up with joy upon Kellyn mentioning such an idea, and kissed him on the cheek as the man blushed ferociously.
"That would be an awesome idea, let's head there before it starts to pour!" Wendy said as they made their way to Altru Park.
The romantic plan couldn't have been decided at a better time, as a slight drizzle was beginning to start.
As Linda watched the two begin to run towards Altru Park, Linda couldn't help but look at them with disgust and rage.
'We'll see about that…' Linda thought.
