Hello everybody! (Sorry about not writing the fight scene in detail I wasn't really sure how to write it out so you could visualize it while not going off with to much detail in the descriptions. Anyway thanks for reading!)

Chapter Twenty-Three

The fight for Atlantis was over before the moon rose over the city. The Lagrangian Point Satellite took out two of the hive ships and the remaining hive ship took a beating from the transformed carts and automated defense system that I had set up. There were no casualties on our side which was good, and the ZPM kept Atlantis safe so there was no damage to any of the buildings.

Right now we were combing the waters around Atlantis for any signs of Wraith life since they were pretty hard to kill which left me with a lot of time to myself since I had volunteered to continue working with Carson on finding a cure for the Wraith.

"Randy are you okay?" Carson asked, pulling me out of my thoughts and back to the present. Seeing multiple formulas blurring in front of me I rubbed my eyes and stared at the computer screen in front of me.

"Yeah I think in some strange way I'm just disappointed not to have faced the Wraith in combat." I replied, turning my head to give Carson a slightly embarrassed smile at the realization I had been looking forward to being more hands on in the fight with the Wraith.

"I think there were a lot of people who wanted more of a chance to get to participate physically in the fight." Carson replied with a smile as he turned his attention back to looking over the results from the newest set of tests we had done on the Wraith DNA.

Turning my attention back to the computer screen I saw something that immediately caused me to reach backwards for Carson without taking my eyes of the computer screen in front of me as it blinked, holding a possible positive.

"Carson!" I said not daring to blink as I stared at the formula that had a 3% chance of working to strip the Wraith DNA until there was only Ancient DNA left.

"What's wro-no bloody way." Carson said from over my left shoulder as he read the first positive result we had gotten so far.

"It's only a three percent chance but still we finally have a possible formula that will work. Now we just need to start tweaking this formula to see if we can get a higher percentage of positive before we start actually trying it out." I replied happily as I turned my attention to Carson who looked as surprised and overjoyed as I felt.

"This is amazing!" Carson replied, grabbing me in a tight celebratory hug that was interrupted by someone clearing their throat loudly from the laboratory doorway.

Carson and I turned our heads towards the doorway simultaneously to see who it was that was calling attention to themselves. Seeing John, Teyla, Ronan and Rodney standing in the doorway watching the two of us with various looks on their faces caused Carson and I to look at each other and back at them before looking back at each other and realizing that we were still hugging.

Carson dropped his hands from my back like he had been burned and I rolled my eyes as he took three large steps away from me,

"Carson you weren't doing anything wrong so don't act like you were." I told him before turning my attention back to my brother who had been the one who had coughed.

"Did you need something John?" I asked, hoping that maybe he was here to tell me that they needed me to comb the waters of Atlantis for possible living Wraiths.

"Yes we are going on a mission off world to see if we can find anymore ZPM's and Doctor Weir suggested taking you since if anything should happen you can portal us back here without having to use the Stargate." John replied.

"Oh. Okay yeah. I'll go get ready and meet you guys at the Stargate in ten." I replied before turning my attention back to the computer screen and typing in a few commands as I spoke to Carson,

"I'm going to have it run variations of this formula to see if we can increase the positive percentage at all but while I'm gone if you want to start looking into a possible way of giving the formula to a single individual at a time we can try testing it out with just the DNA that we already have if the methods positive I'll ask Doctor Weir about letting us go look for some Iratus Bugs so we can start testing the results on a living creature without giving away our plans to the Wraith." I said as I finished typing in the last command before transporting myself to my bedroom to change from my shorts and tank-top to a black T-shirt and my camo pants. Strapping on a few knives and guns I also after a seconds hesitation decided to take the spear that I had been building in my spare time. It would be good to have a test run of it's capabilities in the battle field should I get a chance to do so.

Transporting myself to the Stargate room I wasn't surprised to see that the others were already there waiting for me, they had all been prepared when they had come down to the lab to talk to me so all they had to do was wait in the Stargate room for me.

"Okay lets get this show on the road." John said as he turned his attention to the guy who would be locking in the coordinates for wherever we were going. As we turned to face the Startgate I realized that I was both in the center and in the last position of the our little team with John and Teyla taking the first two positions and Ronan and Rodney flanking me but also keeping me a bit behind them.

Wondering if this position had been thought out before hand I was unable to address it as we got the go ahead and John and Teyla moved forward in unision causing the rest of us to start walking as well.
