Thank you all for continuing to read my story. I'm sorry to say that I have no idea what I wrote as pieces of future chapters besides the one I use in this chapter because I seem to have deleted that file when I was updating. If any of you remember the rest of them please send me a PM. I hope you all enjoy and continue to follow, favorite and review.
Chapter Twenty-four
"I know the people of this world, we have traded here many times. They are nervous when meeting new faces so I think John and I should go ahead. Keep the comm's on in case anything happens." Tayla said, taking point.
I felt my left eye involuntarily twitch as I realized that she, John and Doctor Weir must have planned this so Ronan, Rodney and I got some 'alone time' together in a relatively safe and private environment.
"Since Tayla knows the people here I think we should go with her plan." John added on the end his eyes studiously avoiding mine telling me that he and Tayla at least had definitely planned this out.
Rather then make things awkward by protesting I decided to pretend I didn't know what they were suggesting so I shrugged and nodded,
"Okay. I'll run through the information that Atlantis has on this planet while you guys are gone, maybe we can transplant some soil from here to Atlantis, the soil in the greenhouse was pretty dry."
I saw Tayla's surprise, confusion and slight panic at my reply and turned around to check out the view from behind me to keep her from seeing the huge grin that took over my face as I tried to keep my laughter from passing my throat.
"We need to get moving, guys make sure you keep Randy out of trouble. Let's get going, Tayla. See you guys later." John said and I gave a wave in the air without turning around because I couldn't get my face back under control in time.
Hearing John and Tayla walking away I turned and after taking a minute to check out our surroundings I walked over to the nearest tree and plopped down onto the ground in front of it so I could rest my back on it.
"We might as well sit down and get comfortable. If the two of you want to ask me any questions now would probably be the best time." I said patting the ground on either side of me.
There was a bit of an awkward silence as Rodney slowly sat down on my right while Ronan took a look around before coming over to sit down on my left and I felt the urge to twiddle my thumbs and was considering jumping up and belting out a random song when Ronan spoke up,
"So when did you learn how to fight?"
"Well I've been fighting in one form or another basically since birth but I started to learn MMA and other martial arts at six years old." I said, feeling relieved that one of them had finally spoken.
"Can you access the information in Atlantis from anywhere at any time? Even if you're not on the same planet? Or change things physically there like opening a secret door there from here?" Rodney asked.
Blinking I processed the fact that the question was actually valid and double checked my connection to Atlantis and if I could do what he had asked,
"Yes. It's like Atlantis is a physical part of me and it has already downloaded all of the information into my head so if I want to at any time open a door or close a door or see where anyone is all I have to do is 'look' and there it is."
"Huh. That's gotta be strange for you." Rodney replied, sounding both impressed and surprised by my response.
"Very. So tell me about yourselves, do either of you have any siblings?" I asked, wanting to learn something about them as well.
"No." Ronan said and from his tone of voice I guessed he really didn't want to talk about his past which I could understand.
"I have a little sister." Rodney replied, sounding like he would rather not talk about it when John's voice came over the comms getting all of our attention.
"We've got a lead on a possible place where the Ancients might have lived. Meet us halfway so we can start heading there."
Jumping up quickly happy to escape the awkwardness that had been forced upon us I saw Ronan and Rodney were pretty quick to stand up as well which made me think that that neither Rodney nor Ronan had been in on what John, Tayla and possibly Doctor Weir had cooked up so I made a mental note to make sure to tell the three of them to mind their own business, we would sort things out amongst ourselves.
As we all began to quickly walk in the direction that John and Tayla had went I felt a faint buzzing in the back of my head causing me to slow down so I was walking behind Rodney and Ronan as I took a good look around us before taking a slow deep breath and feeling outward mentally to see if I could pin-point the cause of the buzzing.
As I felt it out I realized that it wasn't a person it felt more like a machine, almost like the feeling I got from Atlantis and it was coming from the north-west direction glancing at Rodney and Ronan's back I debated slipping off by myself before catching myself and pulling my telepathy back into my mental shield. Whatever was out there it had felt like it was pulling me towards it and that made me wary of it.
"Randy? You coming?" Rodney called back to me pulling me out of my thoughts and back to the present.
