Wow! I'm so sorry about the long wait on this FanFic. I hope you all enjoy this next chapter.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Teleporting back to Atlantis I was happy to find myself in the mess hall because I was starving due to all the energy I had expended. Nodding my thanks to the people that allowed me to skip ahead of them in line I started to fix myself a large tray of food when John's voice came over my comm.
"Where are you now? We're waiting in the gateroom but if you're not done we'll move forward without you." John said in my ear as I turned to find a table.
Deciding not to waste any time talking I transported myself to the gateroom still holding the full tray of food.
"Right behind you." I said keeping a foot away from John so when he turned around he didn't knock the tray out of my hands. Using my telekinesis to hold the tray and myself sitting indian style in mid air I begin to eat while waiting for the guy at the control board to put the address in the Stargate.
"You sure you should be eating right now?" John asked, raising an eyebrow at me as I quickly but calmly devoured everything on the highly-piled tray at superhuman speed.
"It's like this, my energy is the fuel that powers my abilities, without food there's no energy meaning no abilities. No abilities means we don't have any wild cards should things go south." I said as I transported the empty tray back to the mess hall and wiped my mouth with a handkerchief as the final button was pushed and the Stargate came to life.
"Oh. Well if you need any food while were out ask Rodney, he keeps something on him at all times. Now listen, no going off on your own again. If you sense anything Ancient or not, you tell us right away." John said acting every bit the leader he was which annoyed me to no end but also made me proud causing me to sigh lightly in annoyance but voice an agreeing,
"Will do."
As we walked through the Stargate I was reminded why I didn't like to travel that way anymore as I once again noticed all of the creatures that lived outside of the wormhole and I saw them notice me.
One of them, a beautiful but terrifying creature that looked human, started to come towards the wormhole but as I watched it I felt there was something inherently wrong with it freaking me out. Thankfully we exited the Wormhole before it even came close but I still felt vulnerable, I may have new powers but that didn't mean I was ready to go up against it or creatures like it-
"Randy! You with us? You look as pale as a sheet." John said, his voice pulling me out of my thoughts and back into the present.
"Y-yeah I'm fine. Let's go." I said shaking my head and taking a few deep slow breaths to calm myself down so I could focus on the current objective which was…
"What are we doing here again?" I asked John with an apologetic smile hoping that he hadn't told me and I had forgotten.
"Oh, I forgot you weren't at the briefing. Doctor Weir wants us to try and find more races who are willing to trade with us and see if we can make any alliances for military support while you seek out anything left by the Ancients." John replied and I blinked at that before raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"Okay but why did I come with you guys? I could have just as easily sought out the information back on Atlantis. In fact that would have been the better option as I wouldn't have had to stay alert for any attacks and would have been able to fully concentrate my efforts." I replied feeling confused as to why I had been brought along.
"You're the only one with any information on this world besides its name X3109 and that it had an Earth like atmosphere and seems to be more then half water. Tayla's people have never been here before and there's too much information for the analyst's to go through about Atlantis alone." John said, and although it was a sound argument I had the feeling that it wasn't the full truth but knowing John must have a reason I nodded.
"Okay. Let me dig up some information now so we're prepared when we meet the locals." I said taking a deep breath and focusing inward on the mental file of Atlantis entering in keywords to get the results I was looking for.
"Okay…lets see planet X3109…..native creatures are Wivaninx, an off branch of the natives from Atlantis Wivannal…..their fierce fighters with enhanced strength and speed….their highly intelligent and willing to enter agreements as long as it benefit both parties…..native language is Tuwigxn…they'll only show themselves as possible allies if one of their warriors is beaten by one of us without weapons…..they have special abilities that help them manipulate the elements so they can live more comfortably…- well any other information will have to wait as we are currently surrounded." I said feeling the natives' presence grow in number as I had been searching out information on them.
"What do you mean the natives of Atlantis? Aren't the Ancients- wait were surrounded?" John said switching gears from curious older brother to strong military leader ready for an attack.
ARTHOR NOTE: I was going to attempt to create a new language for the Wivaninx but there is so much that needs to go into creating a new language that I decided against it, especially since it would take me forever to create it so you wouldn't get another chapter for thirty years. So I just made the non-English language like this so you know it's not in English.
"What are your intentions?" Asked the only native who stepped out of hiding while the rest continued to move around and grow in number.
"Ummm... any chance you know what their saying?" John asked me, undoubtedly not believing that I would which made me smile a bit as I replied,
"Yes I'll handle this." Causing everyone to on the team to jerk towards me in surprise as I walked past them and stood across from the native who had spoken.
"We are here to gather allies that will fight with us. We know your people are fierce warriors and we are willing to make a beneficial pact for both of us." I said lowering my head in a short bow to the female Wivaninx showing her respect.
"How is it that you speak our language? Are you one of the rare Wivannal hybrids? You don't smell of them but there is something strange about you." She replied sounding curious but also on edge.
"I am-I was human. I come from a planet that is farther away then even the lost planets of Reichbarnik. I have learned your language through my access to the City of the Ancients from your original planet of Atlantis. Will your people allow us to fight for right of making a pact?" I asked, turning the conversation away from myself and back to what our main objective was.
"You seem strong. I will allow it under the condition that all of your group fight one on one with four of my people. I will take you on myself. Your group may choose from our weapons we will fight in succession. If all of your group loses four of you will be killed and one sent back as a messenger as is our custom. If even one of your group win's your fight we will take you to our Chief and she will hear you out." She replied.
"Let me discuss this with the leader of our group. I will give you our reply shortly." I told her getting her nod of acceptance before turning my attention back to the others who had been quietly waiting and watching our exchange.
"Here's the deal. This lady is the leader of the group that's surrounding us and she's willing to take us to their Chief but only if at least one of us win's our one on one fight with the warriors she chooses to fight against us. In the battle we will be given a choice of their weapons so it will be an even playing field...weapon wise at least. Like I said these natives are stronger, faster and have heightened senses they may also be able to read your mind. The fights will happen one at a time I was informed that she and I will fight last, the fights will end either when one of you is undeniably in a position where you would die." I told the others while keeping an eye on the leader as she slipped into the woods to choose her four warriors.
