Everyone was watching Mizar run out after Carlita.
"Where's she going?" Yudo asked concerned for his girlfriend.
"She's looking for Kite. He's the person who taught her how to duel, and she considers him to be a brother." Carlita's sister answered.
"He means a lot to her, other than her family Kite is the person she's always been the closest with." Rio agreed.
Yudo widen his eyes before running after them. The others exchanged a glance before Shark, Amy, Claire, Emily, and Yuma ran after him. Yudo chased after Carlita, and Mizar worried for their condition knowing how strong Kite can be.
"What are you doing?" Shark questioned catching him and grabbing his arm.
"Making sure Carlita's okay." Yudo answered when Shark caught him.
"By blindly running through Heartland?" Shark questioned. "Carlita knows her way around here, you don't."
"I know some things here from watching the show." Yudo told him.
"That show again." Shark frowned as the others arrived. "What are you even going to do if you catch up with her and Mizar, or if Kite finds you first?"
"Kite's not hunting Numbers anymore, and changed after Hart got better. He's not dangerous." Yudo told him.
"That changed when Duel Academy and the Fusion Dimension arrived, he's even more intense than before." Shark explained.
Flashback...
It was a few days after the initial attack by the Fusion Dimension. Several innocent people had already been injured or worse due to the Ancient Gear monsters that were rampaging through Heartland as a ragged looking Shark, Dumon, Rio, and Yuma were hiding in the ruins of a destroyed house trying to catch their breath.
"Yuma, we need Astral's help." Rio told him.
"I know... I am trying to get into contact with him." Yuma said breathing.
"What about Shay and Lulu?" Dumon questioned. "They were supposed to be helping the injured."
"I called them before but they aren't calling back." Rio answered.
Dumon frowned as they heard the door open and looked over to see someone leaving.
"Kite! Kite stop where you going!" Yuma moved over reaching his hand over to a blonde haired boy wearing a black jacket grabbing his shoulder.
"Where do you think Yuma, these people invaded our home and I intend on making every single one of them regret that decision." Kite told him coldly. "Now stay out of my way."
"Kite you can't take them on by yourself! We need to stick together!" Yuma tried to argue.
Kite turned to Yuma with a glare. "Stay out of my way Yuma."
With that he left leaving the others by themselves.
"Kite..." Yuma trailed off at this.
"We have to trust he'll be ok... we need to find the others Yuma." Shark told him with a frown. "We need a plan."
Yuma nodded as they went to plan.
Flashback End...
"So... Kite's back to his no mercy personality from this invasion?" Yudo asked shocked.
"Exactly, it doesn't help that nobody's seen Dr. Faker or Hart since it started... they could have gotten somewhere safe but Hart's still learning the Photon deck so if they got surrounded..." Yuma started before trailing off uncertainly.
"That finds finding Carlita is more important! We gotta make sure their okay!" Yudo said instantly.
Shark stared at him before nodding. "Alright."
Meanwhile with Carlita and Mizar...
"Where is he? He has to be here." Carlita frowned looking around.
"Carlita!" Mizar ran after her, "Carlita, Kite's not the same!"
Hearing that she turned. "What are you talking about? I know him Mizar."
"You remember what he was like when he hunted the Numbers. He's feeling like that now." Mizar told her.
Carlita flinched. "Even if he is, I have to make sure he's ok and..." Carlita started before they saw a purple glow nearby.
"Carlita guys!" Yudo, and the others found them as they noticed the glow.
That's when they heard a roar and Carlita's eyes widened as she ran to where they saw the glow. "Kite?"
She sees someone in front of the glow looking out at the glow in front of him as it faded before he turned his gaze over to the girl. Her eyes widened. "It's you... Kite."
"Carlita..." Kite trailed off seeing her.
"I was so worried, something might have happened." Carlita whispered. "We need to go back to the others, Shay and Yuto... they found people who can help... they even managed to get Lulu back."
"I can't go back." Kite told her turning over to her, "I have to make them pay."
"You don't have to do it by yourself, Shark and Yuma helped you when your dad went to far, and you worked together to stop the Barians and Don Thousand." Carlita argued reminding him of everything that had happened before.
"Just stay out of my way Carlita. This was never your fight to begin with." Kite told her sternly.
"Yes it is!" she argued. "You've been like family to me for years Kite, and this is my home just as much as yours... it is my fight but the only chance we have is if you come back and we all stay together."
She feels a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see who it was. It was Yudo who had a calm smile to her before saying, "Carlita, the only way to talk to him truthfully is to duel him."
"Yudo..." she whispered before nodding. "You're right. Kite, I challenge you to a duel!"
"Duel? You?" Kite asked hearing that.
"That's right, if I win you'll listen to us." Carlita nodded. "I still remember everything you taught me Kite... you're like the brother I never had."
Kite stared before turning to Yudo, "And who's this?"
"My name's Yudo Akaba... Carlita's boyfriend." Yudo answered.
Kite stared before turning to Carlita, "Alright Carlita I'll take you up on your offer. But for one other stake when I win you stay out of the way. You got that?"
Carlita flinched at that but nodded. "Ok, deal."
Yudo kisses Carlita's cheek with a smile, "I wish you luck. And here." He hands her Masquerade, and it's Chaos Form, "You promised not to use these but have them as a Good Luck charm."
She frowned and shook her head. "I appreciate that Yudo, but this is a duel I have to fight using my own strength alone."
She looked over to Kite stepping forward readying her Duel Disk. "I'll go first Kite."
Yudo stepped back to watch the duel.

"Three Cipher Wings, that means he's coming." Carlita recalled.
"Cipher?" Yudo asked confused, "That wasn't the Deck he was using in the show."
Ignoring him Kite called, "Then you should find this familiar. I summon Cipher Wing!"

"Not for long. I know that cards effect but I know how to counter it without using a Rank-Up-Magic card." Kite told her.
"What?" Carlita asked in shock.
Kite raised his arm, "I Overlay Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon in order to rebuild the Overlay Network!"
Cipher Dragon glowed gold flying up in the Overlay Network as it exploded.
"Galaxy shining in the known universe, become the fist of the revenge god, and my very servant! Rank-Up Xyz Change!" Kite called placing the card as the monster rose up, "Rank 9, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon!"
What rose was Cipher Dragon with it's wings shaping as blades on it's arms roaring.

True to fashion Blade Dragon swung it's arms where it's blades came off spinning fast as saucers to the Xyz Magician.
"I use Slacker Magician's ability again!" Carlita countered.
Slacker Magician: (ORU: 1 - 0)
"That effect wasn't once a turn?" Yudo asked hearing that.
"No, it wasn't." Yuma answered.
Slacker Magician dispelled the Saucers striking back at Blade Dragon destroying it but Kite doesn't look worried. He only stretched his arm forward, "Blade Dragon's ability activates!" The graveyard portal opened in front of him.
"It brings back Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon." Carlita recalled. "Only this time it doesn't have any Overlay Units."
Cipher Dragon rose back roaring.

"But now Slacker Dragon doesn't have anymore Overlay Units to avoid their effects now." Yudo said worried, "Slacker Magician can keep itself from being destroyed by battle once a turn but that defense won't last against a duelist like Kite."
Taking that to mind Kite told Carlita, "I end my turn."

Carlita's eyes widened realizing what was about to happen.
"So he used the most of his cards by summoning Etranger so Secret Village can't stop him." Yudo said in shock.
"Exactly, Kite's one of if not the best duelists we know." Yuma answered.
"Now I overlay both Cipher Biplane, and Etranger!" Kite called as the two glowed flying in the Overlay Network, "Xyz Summon! Another Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"
A second Cipher Dragon rose up roaring beside the first one.

Carlita's eyes widened seeing the second dragon.
"Then I use my second Cipher Dragon's ability! I take control of Dark Magician Girl, and make her a Cipher Dragon!" The newly summoned Cipher Dragon takes an Overlay Unit shining it's wings, "Cipher Projection!" (ORU: 2 - 1)
Carlita's only monster flew to Kite's side of the field leaving her practically defenseless. She then formed into a glowing Cipher Dragon.
Dark Magician Girl: (Name: Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon/Effects Negated/ATK: 2000 + 1000 = 3000)
"Then as Etranger went to the graveyard, I take a Cipher spell or trap card to my hand." Kite said adding a card, "And now first Cipher Dragon prepare to attack! Cipher Stream of Destruction!"
The dragon rose up readying an attack.
"Cipher Interference's effect activates!" the mentioned spell glowed as Kite revealed, "During damage calculation when a Cipher battles while a second copy of itself exists on the field, it's attack points double!"
"Whoa what!? So that's why he takes his opponent's monsters!?" Yudo asked shocked at such a powerful effect.
"I play the trap Magician Navigation!" Carlita cried quickly. "I can summon Dark Magician from my hand and Apprentice Illusion Magician from my deck both in Defense Position!"
Two strong magicians popped up in defense.

Carlita braced herself as her monster shattered. "Cipher Interference only works once, and other monsters except the Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon that used it's effect can't attack directly so I'll survive this turn with 1000 life points at least."
"Cipher Dragon!" The transformed Dark Magician Girl destroyed her teacher before he called, "Now Cipher Dragon!" The last dragon that used it's effect charged in attacking her directly.
Carlita cried out as the blast hit her sending her crashing to the ground.

"Carlita!" Yudo cried shocked running over.
"Don't!" she told him as she weakly got up. "I'm ok... this isn't the first time I've been hit by Galaxy-Eyes."
Flashback...
A younger Carlita was dueling Kite while Yuma and the others were watching.
"This time I've got you Kite, Magician of Black Chaos has 2800 attack points and you know I drew Apprentice Illusion Magician last turn thanks to Dark Magical Circle's effect which means I win." she smiled. "You dragon only has 3000 points and no Overlay Units left."
"Well go ahead, and try if you dare." Kite grinned to her.
"Magician of Black Chaos, attack Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon with Chaos Scepter Blast!" Carlita called. "I discard Apprentice Illusion Magician to give my Magician 2000 attack and defense points... I finally got you!"

"Yeah not so much." Kite told her before calling, "I activate my face-down Cipher Throwback! So now as your attacking Cipher Dragon, your monster's attack points before 0!"
Carlita's eyes widened in shock. "No way!"
With her monsters points zero Cipher Dragon blasted Magician of Chaos charging it at Carlita. Carlita cried out as she was hit sending her flying to her back as her life points dropped to zero before she sat up with a pout.
"Come on... the student is supposed to surpass the master so why can't I ever beat you Kite?"
"It just wasn't your time yet. But one day it will be." Kite said with a soft smile to her.
She smiled. "Yeah, one day."
She got up before hugging Kite. He softly hugged her back.

"You said... I'd beat you one day, and that day has to be today Kite." Carlita whispered getting to her feet.
"You don't got the cards to do it. I know what your Deck is Carlita." Kite told her ending his turn which made Dark Magician Girl go back to Carlita's field.

"Carlita... Why do you...?" Kite trailed off stunned seeing Carlita Fusion Summoned.
"Fusion Summoning isn't the same as Duel Academy... I should have realized it a long time ago... Standard had them all Kite, and even me... when we met I wasn't able to Xyz Summon like the rest of you." Carlita whispered. "You remember don't you, my true specialty?"
"Ritual." Kite said one word.
"Exactly, I reveal my final facedown card." Carlita whispered. "Chaos Form, and by sending Dark Magician to my graveyard I can Ritual Summon Magician of Chaos to my field."

She stood frozen in shock at that before falling back in disbelief. "I... I did it? I actually somehow pulled it off?"
"Carlita you done it!" Yudo cheered jumping up before running to her.
She looked over with a weak smile. "It was all thanks to you helping me Yudo."
Carlita suddenly paused.
"Kite... about, me using Fusion..."
Kite stared before closing his eyes, "I can see it can help you in the long road. I used Fusion before, right before any of this started."
"That's right, Twin Photon Lizard." Yudo recalled. "You were the only one in this Dimension to ever Fusion Summon right?"
Kite looked at him surprised, "How did you know that?"
Yudo paused before rubbing his head, "Long story."
"Once that you'll get a chance to hear, now that you're going to come back with us Kite." Mizar mentioned with a small smile.
Kite stared before slowly nodded before walking to Carlita before saying, "The student finally surpasses the master. How did it feel to finally prevail against your teacher?"
"It felt... meaningless, I wanted to surpass you Kite... but not because of all of this." she admitted looking down. "So many people were hurt, still are being hurt... I want things to be normal again."
She felt a hand taking hers making her look to Yudo who smiled, "Well new connections are made. Plus you talked through to him during the duel. Even in the worst case scenario there are good things waiting to be discovered in the middle of it all."
Carlita nodded before hugging him. "Thank you Yudo... thank you."
Yudo smiled hugging her back with a smile before kissing her cheek. She blushed before turning and kissing him on the lips before pulling back.
Ulrich362: Well, the student surpasses the teacher and the Lancers have potentially gained a very strong ally wouldn't you agree Bopdog?

Ulrich362: So next up will be filling Kite in on what's going on, a possible flashback, and plans to confront Duel Academy's forces in the Xyz Dimension?
