Corruption of the Light
Ch. 4
o-o-O-o-o
"I think I have a new fetish."
"What?" Yagi said, as he gave his protege a queer look.
"What?" Izuku asked.
"Did you hit your head earlier or something? I can see that you injured your arm, but your acting dare I say a bit stranger than usual."
"Are you I'm implying that I act strange?" Izuku asked, preparing to verbally defend himself.
Yagi heaved a sigh. "I meant no disrespect, but you do have some strange behaviors. There's the habit of muttering, completely unaware of those around you."
"A habit that I've been trying to break for years..."
Yagi just continued. "Never mind that notebook that you pull out of god knows where. There's that damn figurine you have of me. I thought I was your favorite hero?"
"Now listen here..." Izuku said, full explanation mode revving up. "Those figurines are a super rare limited collectible, whose value will continue to increase as time passes. Those are an investment."
Yagi narrowed his eyes at the teen. "You said 'figurines', as in plural. There are more of those cursed things. Do you own more than the one I saw?"
"I admit nothing."
Yagi just closed his eyes as he rubbed his forehead. Feeling the beginning of a headache start to bloom behind his eyes as he heaved another sigh.
"Listen Midoriya, do you see the point I was trying to make. You worry me sometimes, I understand that you are still a teenager and your personality and mood can flip like a switch. Now be me. I come back from a run to the scrapyard to a hurt teenager who instead of worrying about his injury seemed to be smitten with some strange girl."
"She was cute." Izuku declared.
"She wore a mask, you couldn't even see her face!"
"She was older than me." Izuku continued. "And she dressed like a delinquent from those really old manga."
Yagi was about to say something, but he had to concede that point. Female delinquents were indeed enticing.
"She also bandaged my arm up."
Yagi glanced down at the arm in question. "Speaking of which. Are you good to finish the day or do we need to find a clinic?"
Izuku looked at his arm, flexing his hand and twisting it to and fro. It still stung, but it was nothing he couldn't tolerate. "I'm fine." He flexed his hand one more time before turning to Yagi. "You know Toh told me something interesting. I'm apparently the local entertainment around here."
Yagi hummed in acknowledgment.
"For all the women..." Izuku continued.
"Indeed, who do you think sent the drinks for the cooler?"
Izuku just stared at the man. "You knew?"
"Midoriya, I have had to run interference so the more determined ones would leave you alone."
"They watched me get changed!"
Yagi just shrugged. "They didn't see anything a bathing suit wouldn't cover and you have to admit they have a good taste when it comes to drinks."
"So you basically pimped me out for beverages?"
"I would prefer the term viewing fee, but what can I say. I'm a man of simple pleasures. A good burger with a nice cold drink was one of them, and with me not being able to really eat a good burger..."
Izuku blinked. "Yagi, you suck so much at times. I mean if people really knew what you were like..." Izuku trailed off.
Yagi nodded. "Everyone has their secrets, some moreso than others. Now if you're done whining, get back to work."
It took everything for Izuku to not flip the bird at his favorite hero.
O-o-O-o-o
Soon another month had passed, and Izuku was glad that it was finally time his school switched to the summer uniforms. He could finally wear something that wasn't so constraining to class, though the looks he started getting from some of his classmates was a bit unnerving. Plus side, he had nearly caught up to Bakugou when it came to height, much to the prick's chagrin.
Then there was the day that Chidori embarrassed him in front of of a few people in the library. The day had started simply enough. Chidori asked him if he could help with English work, and he accepted.
Together they sat off to the side so not to bother the other library patrons and began their work. Now Chidori was a bright girl, but she still struggled sometimes, mostly with her pronunciations and proper use of tenses. But she just wasn't paying attention to what Izuku was trying to teach her, spending most of the time she glancing at his face and it was starting to get to him…
Sitting down the textbook, he sighed as the looked at the girl across from him. She was looking at him, but not at him. He finally had to say something.
"Is there something on my face?"
Okay, Chidori wasn't saying anything, hell she didn't seem to be blinking…
"You have whiskers..." She finally whispered, leaning ever so closer and violating his personal.
"What?"
"You're growing whiskers… on your face."
Unconsciously Izuku rubbed his chin, feeling a strange tickle as his fingertips brushed across the newly realized hairs. Rubbing higher, he felt more hairs at the corner of his lips. Pinching his fingers, he pulled at the hairs, wincing as he tugged, confirming they were real.
'Well that's new' Izuku thought to himself as he rubbed his chin, finding the new sensation oddly enjoyable, before Chidori had to go and ruin the mood.
"...But they're not growing in like my dads… It's just the corner of your mouth and the bottom of your chin. I bet if you let it grow out you'll look like one of those old kung fu masters."
Izuku just rested his head on his arms in embarrassment as Chidori went off on a tangent, complete with sound effects and motions.
'At least there isn't anyone around to see this…' Izuku thought to himself, till he heard a few giggles coming from his left.
The table that had been previously empty had since been filled with students, female students, female students from his class. All of which were currently watching the spectacle of Chidori before looking directly at him.
"Master Midoriya."
'Fuck my life...'
o-o-O-o-o
Yagi sighed as he pulled up to Dagobah. The cleanup was proceeding faster than he had planned and it was getting harder for his truck to carry the scrap and that was without dealing with the rusted out vehicles that still littered the place. He was going to need to find a way for Midoriya to break those down or he was going to a much bigger truck… That thought led him to thinking about the teen.
The boys dedication to his task was impressive, though he did have a habit of getting a bit snarky at times, and he was quite protective of his mother. Another thing Yagi respected.
Yagi was also not oblivious to the changes that were happening to the teen. The sudden growth of height was unexpected, but not too out of the ordinary, growth spurts do happen after all. But the way the boy quickly adapted to heavier and heavier loads had him scratching his head.
Now Yagi understood how muscle development worked. Muscle fibers broke down during heavy repetitive strain, in turn being repaired or replaced by thicker fibers. So why was the teen not getting the muscular growth that he should have?
Midoriya was easily capable of lifting fifty kilos with one hand, so why didn't he look like it? This was food for thought and something he would have to discuss with Chiyo when he got the chance.
Stepping out of his truck, Yagi leaned back into the bed and pulled out his ever faithful cooler, freshly restocked courtesy of the neighborhood women's association, before making his trek down to the beach. Stopping at the bottom of the stairs to find himself looking at a strange scene.
There was Midoriya standing by a car, not too strange on its own. But the way the boy leaned down to look at his face, angling it to an fro, made Yagi quirk a brow.
"Young Midoriya?" He asked, making the teen jerk his head towards him. "Is there something wrong with your face?"
The teen looked in the mirror once before focusing on Yagi. "I need to ask you something a bit strange..."
"While my tastes don't lean that way. I can assure you are quite an attractive young man, no matter what others may say..."
Izuku faced puzzled for a second, mind catching up to what Yagi had just said. "No, wasn't wondering about that, but thanks I guess. No, I need your help with something..."
Yagi stood in silence as the teen jogged over to where he was standing before stopping to point at his face.
"I need your help with this."
Yagi didn't quite get what Izuku was getting at. "Your skin? I don't really follow a skin regimen, just soap and water really..."
"Not my skin! This!" The teen pinched at something at the edge of his mouth and tugged. "I'm growing hair on my face."
"Oh… Well Young Midoriya it's quite normal when a young male gets older, things change… Your voice gets deeper. Hair begins to grow in places it wasn't before..."
"I know about puberty!" Izuku hissed. "What I want to know is why is it starting to grow now."
"Your training causing your body to produce more testosterone?" Yagi guessed.
Izuku pointed a finger at the man before dropping it. "That… that makes sense. But what am I going to do now?"
Yagi leaned forward to examine the teens face. The hair itself was growing in haphazardly, typical of first time growth, with the more prominent signs of growth on the chin and the corners of the mouth.
"Well you let it grow out, look like one of those kung fu… OOF!"
Izuku didn't give him a chance to finish his suggestion, preferring a quick jab to Yagi's stomach.
"That joke was already done. Suggest something else."
"I don't know, shave?" Yagi wheezed out. "Why'd you hit me?"
"Because you were making a joke at my expense, a joke I already heard once today."
Izuku chose to ignore the wheezing chuckle that emanated from the man. He could try shaving, but that in there laid the problem. He didn't know how to shave, and didn't have anyone that could teach him, well maybe his mom..."
"You know I could teach you right?" Yagi interrupted. "I have a travel bag with a razor and shaving soap in my truck."
Izuku could only ask, "Why?"
"A true hero should always be prepared no matter the situation. Now wait here for a moment while I go retrieve it."
Izuku stood there in silence as he watch Yagi jogged back to his truck and began to rummage through it for a minute before he returned with a small bag and a bottle of water.
"Now Midoriya, I normally shave when I'm fresh from the shower. The heat makes the hair softer and easier to shave, but since your facial hair isn't course yet, we can get away with just wetting your face with a bottle of water." Yagi said as he pulled a few items from the bag, one of which was a straight razor and a small tin of something Izuku couldn't recognize. "Now take this water and wash your face but don't dry it..."
"That's a straight razor..." Izuku stated. "Shouldn't I use something a bit simpler and safer?"
"Nonsense. I learned to use a straight razor from my master and once you get to hang of it, you will learn to prefer as I do. Nothing else comes close to getting the edges perfect." Yagi said as he whipped a brush against whatever was in the tin, making a lather. "Now stand still a second..."
And that was the day, on a beach covered in old wrecks that Izuku learned to shave.
O-o-O-o-o
A few more weeks had passed and Izuku added shaving to his morning routine. Now he couldn't go more than two days without a shave or he would end up looking like wolf-man as his oh so hilarious mother reminded him.
Then there was the progress of the beach clean up. Yagi had admitted that Izuku was progressing at a much faster rate than he had planned and now he was in a bit of a pickle. Everything that could have been cleaned up easily by hand had been. Leaving only the rusted out hulks of various vehicles. Too large and awkward to be loaded on the back of the truck. Leaving us to where we find the teen today...
Izuku sighed as he waited for Yagi to return. The hero/skeleton mentioning something about getting a piece of equipment that would make the beach clean up easier and Izuku couldn't fault the man. He had cleaned up the beach to the point that all that was left was old cars and trucks and while Izuku could move smaller ones by hand, they just wouldn't fit on the back of his truck, not in one piece at least.
It was the recognizable thunk of a truck door closing that alerted that Yagi had returned as he spied the man reaching into the bed to lift something out of it along with a small Jerry can. Now that piqued Izuku's interest. Whatever Yagi had picked up required fuel of some sort.
The object in question turned out to be a concrete saw equipped with an abrasive wheel. Yagi had brought the means to make big things into little things and Izuku felt a twinge in the back of his mind as he beheld the instrument of metal destruction. He needed to get it started… feel it run…
In a completely different part of a city a pink haired girl felt a change in the force as someone new entered the fold...
Yagi hadn't noticed Izuku's reaction to the tool or the fact that said tool was quickly being carried away along with the can of fuel mix as he read the manual. He of course knew how one of these things worked… in principle. It couldn't be too hard right, a lot of people in construction used these things. He didn't notice the sudden odor of fuel, and only stopped reading when he heard the pop of an engine.
Looking towards his student, he found the teen pumping something near the handle on the tool before pushing something else…
"Midoriya, what are you doing?" He asked.
"Priming before adjusting the choke."
"The what now?" Yagi asked as he walked to where Izuku was fiddling with the saw.
"I'm trying to start it." Izuku said as he finished his adjustments and got ready to pull the starting cord.
Yagi unconsciously took a step back as the saw sprung to life in the hands of his pupil. Not liking the look Izuku was wearing as the teen revved the engine, the disk turning into a blur as the engine speed increased all the while as Izuku grinned like a madman he turned and began to walk toward a wreck.
"Young Midoriya, maybe you should turn that off and get some..." Yagi's voice was drowned out by the sound of the engine screaming as Izuku lowered the blade against the door of wreck, wearing a grin that would've made a hardened criminal think twice.
Seconds later the sound of the saw quieted as the door thudded to the ground, the teen turning back to Yagi, manic grin still in place as the tool idled.
"You know Mr. Yagi, there can be times when you are completely awesome."
"Okay..." Yagi drawled as he eyed the teen with weariness. "Maybe you should wear some protection? At least some goggles okay?"
Izuku looked down at the saw to Yagi then back down to himself. He looked fine aside from his arms itching a little, then he noticed his shirt suddenly had a lot more little holes than it did before, one of which seemed to be smoking… before looking back to Yagi and the safety goggles the man had pulled from god knows where.
"I'll wear the goggles..."
Now donning the goggles, Izuku revved up the saw and returned to his task. Turning a wreck of a car into a rather manageable pile of metal, that he quickly managed to load into the back of the truck, before the man left to drop off the load at the scrapyard, leaving Izuku unsupervised with a power tool along with a nearly full fuel can, standing among a beach full of things that needed to be cut up…
o-o-O-o-o
Toh kept her pace as she headed towards Dagobah. Apparently the string bean had been busy these past few weeks and the beach had been looking better than it had been for years according to the grapevine.
Now she told herself that she was just checking on the kid, making sure he wasn't being an idiot and getting himself hurt, but then she heard the sound of an engine screaming emanating from the beach. She couldn't fault herself from increasing her pace till she was at the top of the stairs that led down to the sand. Staring at a sight that made her breath hitch behind her mask.
The string bean had gone through some changes since she had last seen him. She would have described him as scrawny when she first met him, but even from this distance she could see that the teen had added some muscle, which drew her attention as she watched him cut apart a car with some kind of power saw while not wearing a shirt, not the brightest move she idly thought before she moved.
Descending down the stair, she approached the teen, drinking in the changes as she walked closer. The teen's hair had gotten longer, now falling just past his jaw, as she watched the muscles of his back move as he worked, till she was within a few meters of the teen while being mindful of the sparks. Preferring to let the boy notice her instead of her possibly startling him.
It didn't take long, as the teen shut the saw off to toss a door into a pile of metal that she had somehow missed, surprising her with how casually he tossed the chunk of scrap with one hand. Then blue eyes met green, as the boy lifted the goggles from his eyes to get a better look at his guest.
"Toh?"
Toh was painfully aware how piercing his stare seemed to be, as he looked at her. Maybe it was the grease and grime that covered his face that made his eyes seem to pop a bit more. Or it was the fact the string bean's body was also covered by a layer of dirt that was only broken by slightly cleaner trails of where the sweat had run. Leading down his stomach… 'god did he have abs before?' to his… Toh shook her head to to erase those thoughts, she didn't even know his name.
"Toh?"
Toh did not jump when she felt something tap her shoulder, it was a strategic retreat. Nor did she nearly set her attacker aflame. Instead settling to jab two gloved fingers into Izuku's stomach, surprising him and briefly knocking the wind out of him. Causing the boy to drop the saw as he clutched his stomach, glaring at her as did.
"The hell Toh?"
Toh was not one to blush now lose her cool, but the look green bean was giving her right at this moment was making her feel a tad self-conscious.
"You surprised me."
"Surprised you? You were staring at me, I called your name a couple times and you were blanked out."
"I was thinking."
"You were staring! Right at me!"
"I tend to do that that when I'm thinking, Green Bean."
"Green Bean?" Izuku asked.
"I don't know your name." Toh said with in an embarrassed tone.
"So you call me Green Bean?" Izuku wasn't sure if he should have felt insulted or not. "How about you call me my name." Izuku said as he extended a hand forward. "The names Izuku Midoriya."
Toh grasped the hand and gave it a shake. "Toh."
"Toh what?"
"Just call me Toh, Green Bean." Toh said much to Izuku's displeasure as she shifted back into her teasing ways.
"I am not a green bean."
"You could've fooled me. You're green," Toh gestured to his hair. "Not quite as lanky as I remember so maybe I should call you something else. Maybe Broccoli Boy?"
"That's worse than Green Bean..." Izuku whined. "Can't you call me by my name?"
"Matter of fact I can't" Toh said as she walked around the teen, further examining him. "So what have you been up to while I was gone."
"Oh you know, the usual. Cleaning up the beach, coming to terms of my existence."
Toh looked around the beach, finding that the boy really had been busy these past few weeks.
"So you weren't taken captive by some lonely housewife, forced to spend your days fulfilling her every lewd and carnal desire?" Toh asked, relishing the look on Izuku's face before it shifted into something else.
"Are we talking beautiful older women? The kind that say things like ara ara, cause I might just be down with that." He asked with an odd waggle of his brows.
Toh lost it as she erupted in laughter.
"Jesus Christ, Green Bean. The hell did that come from?"
"Thought it would make you laugh, but now that I think about it, that doesn't sound so bad."
"My god, you're terrible."
"And you have a pretty laugh..."
Toh did not blush, the warmth in her face was due to the mistake of wearing heavy clothes on a sunny summer day…
"And you blush so nice…"
Okay, maybe she was capable of blushing. She wasn't one that received complements too often, so she wasn't prepared for her body's traitorous reactions. Still she couldn't let String Bean keep getting to her, she needed to change the subject…
"Enough about me." She said, ignoring the pout that Izuku gave her as she sat down in the sand. "Last time I was here, you were picking up scrap. Now you're making more of it."
"Well I managed to clean up everything that I could fit into the truck." Izuku said as he ran his hand through hair, shaking a bit of sand from it as he continued. "And these won't fit in the truck unless..."
"You cut them down into smaller pieces." Toh said, smirking under her mask as Green Bean pouted once more. "I got that from seeing you with the big-ass saw."
"Now I want you to explain to me why are currently using said big-ass saw without protection? Do you not remember how we first met?"
"What, I have safety goggles."
"Eye protection yes, but why the hell are you not wearing a shirt?" Toh asked, citing the obvious flaw in Green Bean's thinking.
"It's hot out and I got sick of putting burn holes in my shirts..."
Toh blinked once, then twice, and finally a third time, before pulling herself up from the sand and began stalking towards the teen, before getting close enough that she could grab one of his ears, ignoring the yelp of pain from the boy as she pulled him close.
"So you're fine with burning yourself. Just to save a few shirts?"
"I liked those shirts, I don't have too many that fit me anymore." Izuku whined out under her unrelenting grip, hissing as the girl suddenly let go.
"You do know you could always buy some cheap clothes at a thrift store right?"
"Christ woman, you didn't have to try and tear my ear off..." Izuku hissed out before shrinking back at the glare Toh was giving him at the 'woman' comment before he acquiesced. "...I'll get some more clothes that I won't mind getting ruined. Happy?"
Toh nodded before walking to the saw that Green Bean dropped in their little scuffle, tapping the piece of power equipment with her foot. "Where did you even get this? I doubt any reputable shop would sell this to a minor."
Izuku rubbed his ear as he spoke. "Mr. Yagi picked it up, and for your information I'll be eighteen come July fifteenth."
"So still a minor." Toh stated relishing the look on Izuku's face. "And this Mr. Yagi was it? He trusts you not to cut off a hand or a foot with this thing?"
"I'm not an idiot and he knows that."
"You would rather get burned rather than lose a few shirts, I wouldn't call you the sharpest tool in the shed, Green Bean."
"…Still wouldn't lop off a limb..." Izuku said with a pout, before looking back at the girl as she examined the saw. "You want to try it?"
Toh just looked at him. "Try what?"
Izuku gestured to the saw.
"Are you asking me if I want to hold your large, unwieldy tool? Me? A nubile young woman?"
Izuku just blinked before the realization hit, before blushing up a storm as the girl started laughing at him yet again."
"I'm just screwing with ya Green Bean and I'm not going to lie. Seeing this thing in action has piqued my interest. So yeah I want to try it..."
o-o-O-o-o
Inko Midoriya hummed a tune as she continued making her rounds at the hospital till the telltale sound of her phone getting a text alerted her. Pulling her phone from her pocket she was surprised to find that she had received a text from Mr. Yagi. Well not that surprised, she had ran into him once in a grocery store, and they had shared contact info, due to Yagi's insistence.
Now she would occasionally receive texts from the man. Usually simple messages concerning her son, sometimes there would be pictures. But this was the first time the man had sent a video.
Hitting the play icon, Inko was watching her son interacting with someone she didn't recognize. It was a girl obviously, the long black hair and feminine features confirmed that, but the girl wore a mask and dressed like Mitsuki when she was a chunibyo during middle school.
Izuku knew her though, his reactions obvious though there was no sound. Yagi must've been too far away to catch it. But Inko smiled as she continued to watch, though making a note to have a nice long talk with the man in private as to why her son was operating a piece of power equipment with the barest of safety equipment, a thought the girl in the video must've shared as Inko recognized her actions.
She smiled as she took in her son's blushing face. The result from something the girl had said to him after he pointed at the power saw. Then her boy was showing the girl something with the tool, what she hadn't the slightest idea, before the girl tried to start it, before saying something to Izuku that had him laughing as the girl gave him a particular gesture that Inko did recognize, before he stepped closer to help her.
What followed was one of the sweetest if not strangest thing she had ever witnessed. Izuku had started the tool before offering to the girl and gesturing to the wreck of a car.
Inko watched in silence for another minute before her pager alerted her that someone had hit the call nurse button, reminding her that she was in the middle of work. The rest of the video would have to wait, she had a duty that needed to be fulfilled first, but then she would finish it and when she got home… she going to tease her son mercilessly.
Elsewhere Yagi smirked as he continued to watch the two young adults after he put his phone away after sending the video, no idea of the what things he had set in motion for his young protege, but even he wasn't above a little bit of petty revenge.
Young Midoriya was showing that delinquent how to properly cut a car apart and it was a kind of oddly sweet if strange form of courtship.
Now if he could only place why the girl seemed so familiar to him…
o-o-O-o-o
Izuku stood in silence, waiting for Yagi's arrival, his eyes roaming over the completely empty beach.
It had took a lot of effort on Izuku's part, as well as some assistance from Yagi, but the beach was finally devoid of everything that had marred its beauty, and according to Yagi, he was way above schedule, finishing just before summer break. It wasn't without its hardships though.
Toh had stopped by several more times, preferring to sit back and watch him work, occasionally making a remark or point of some sort. It was due to her pointing out something that both he and Yagi had somehow missed.
Not all the wrecks were sitting nicely in the sand. There were several that had been stacked on top of one another, which Toh had kindly pointed out to him one day that there was no way he could safely dismantle them in their current position. Which Izuku relayed to Yagi, who under the cover of darkness had taken down the stacks in his hero form. Leaving it to him to cut them apart.
Then there was the odd changes to his home life. His mother was now giving him odd looks every once of in awhile when he returned from his training, before finally asking who the girl was that he was hanging out with, much to his embarrassment. How she found out about Toh, he would never know, but he assumed Yagi was involved somehow. The man always kept his distance when the girl was around.
School though was thankfully rather unchanged for the time being. Katsuki had returned to being an all round prick. Though he lost a fair bit of his bite now that could no longer look down at him. He still hung out with Chidori in the library, helping her with her schoolwork, but usually just enjoying her company. He also visited Mr. Miyagi during the times both were free.
They usually talked about movies, a new habit that Izuku had picked up, with Izuku finishing the list he was given by the man. Now the man had given him a much longer list of movies as well as some musical suggestions he'd might have some interest in. Izuku only recognized a few artist and band names, but he made a note to check them all out, Miyagi had excellent taste in movies, so maybe that bled into music as well.
Other than that, the last week of school had finished peacefully, with Yagi giving him the week off so the older man could adjust to his plans for training the teen. Leading to where we find Izuku.
It was the sound of a truck door slamming that drew Izuku's attention. Yagi whistling a tune as he slung a duffle bag over his shoulder before grabbing the cooler from the bed of the truck, continuing to whistle as he made his way down the stairs to join the teen in the sand. Stopping his whistling as he stood in front of the teen.
"Young Midoriya."
"Yagi."
The two looked at each other in silence before both broke into grins. With Yagi breaking the silence first.
"I apologize for my absence, but there were things that needed to be taken care of as well as people I needed to contact. I will explain the reasons why in a moment, but first I have something that I wanted to give to you." Yagi said before sat the cooler down and pulled something out of the duffle bag he was carrying before presenting it to Izuku. "Now I don't know why you never mentioned it, but it became known to me that I had missed your birthday, so I got you something to make up for it."
Izuku glanced at the wrapped gift, wondering just where did Yagi manage to find Midnight themed wrapping paper, the R-18's chibified image covering the paper in various poses, before taking the gift and carefully unwrapping it…
"I had to go through some hoops to get this, but your said you would greatly appreciate it." Yagi supplied, choosing not to the notice the pointed look Izuku had given him at the mention of his mother.
Izuku eyed the man, he would dig into the matter of why the man was still in contact with his mother later, but he really wanted to know what Yagi had gotten him and he could get his answers from the man after, after all he was pretty sure he could outrun Yagi when he was in his Slender man form. So gift first, interrogation after.
Removing the last bits of paper, Izuku felt his breath seize. He was holding in his hands one of the most sought out and rarest forms of All Might merch in existence. It was a simple figure, a glorified garage kit really, but it had a really limited run with less than fifty in existence and those were given out, never actually being sold in a store, but it was one the first figures of All Might. Izuku had dreamt of getting his hands on one and now… Izuku was almost okay with Yagi contact with his mother without his knowledge.
"It took many a favor and a few future promises, but it was well worth it to see the happiness on your face, Young Midoriya. But you must put it away for now as we have other things that need tending today..."
Almost reverently, Izuku placed the box inside his bag, covering it with a his spare change of clothes, before returning to his position in front of Yagi and waited for the man to continue.
"You have spent months cleaning up this beach. Returning it to it's natural splendor from the trash heap that it had been. All in the effort of preparing yourselfto receive my quirk. I have personally watched you grow in leaps and bounds and needless to say, I'm proud of you." Yagi said as he suddenly swelled to his hero persona and plucked a hair from his head. "Now eat this and you will gain my One for All!"
"What?"
o-o-O-o-o
Swallowing a piece of hair was much harder than it looked, but considering the options Yagi had given him, it was the most appetizing choice to get him to ingest the man's DNA. It was still a chore to swallow.
It got stuck in his throat or his mouth, water couldn't even was it down, but Yagi came up with a suggestion that did the trick, a simple peanut butter sandwich, though Izuku didn't appreciate how the man came up with the idea, it was a trick that he used to do for his dog that refused to take its medication, but it seemed to do the trick and he did manage to get it down. Then came the wait.
Yagi had told him the effect wouldn't be instantaneous, that it needed time to be digested and absorbed, but it shouldn't be too long, so they waited. For ten minutes, then another fifteen with no obvious results. It was Izuku that made the suggestion that maybe some light exercise would stimulate his digestion to which the man agreed.
Now Izuku was jogging down the length of the beach lost in his thoughts. How would All Might's quirk affect him? The strength boost was obvious, Yagi had mentioned his master was only a little bit less stronger than he was when it was his turn to take the mantle of One for All, but were there any other possible side effects? Yagi had admitted that the he couldn't transform till he received One for All, so was Izuku going to go swole whenever he used it as well? He sure as hell hoped not, he was running out of clothes as it was…
Then he felt it. It felt like he was getting a stitch. A sharp pain in his side that throbbed, then another pulse of pain hit him, stronger than the one before as he slowed down his jog to a slow walk as headed to where Yagi was sitting before it felt like someone had grabbed his guts and started twisting, making him gasp.
He didn't remember falling down, or Yagi calling out to him, but he was now laying in the sand before Yagi was on him in a flash and sitting him up. His mentor staring down at him with worry in his eyes. The pain was excruciating now, causing the edges of his vision to blacken, and his breakfast to rise in his throat. He couldn't even properly convey to the man what he feeling, only saying one thing…
"Mr. Yagi, I don't feel so good..."
...Before throwing up on the man's lap and blacking out.

Yagi was not one to panic, but when he saw his student slow and eventually stop their jog, he was worried. When he fell, he rushed to the teen and saw the pain clearly on the boy's face, it made him remember when he accepted One for All from his master. There was some discomfort, a result of his body adapting to the quirk, but not to scale that Izuku was experiencing and he couldn't fault the boy for vomiting on him, but when the vomit turned out to be black and sludge like instead of the expected half eaten sandwich he started to panic.
When the same substance continued to pour from the teen's mouth as well as every other hole the boy had in his head, he rightfully freaked the fuck out. He needed to get help fast, but where? From who? Dagobah was out of the way and he couldn't take the boy to a hospital. What was he supposed to tell the doctors? No, he needed to get the boy to someone who knew his secret… but could he get to U.A. in time?

A/N: Had planned to get this out before the end of the year but working retail during the holidays and back to back to back open to closes from Friday to Sunday had thoroughly kicked my ass, so I apologize for the late chapter. Next one will be out sooner rather than later. As always, feel free to send me your suggestions as well as reviews/kudos.
