Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Valkyria Chronicles. Enjoy the 800-word story. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
(Imperial Line.)
Lieutenant Ehren was nothing but cautious as to what happened. He was merely a part of the war effort; it wasn't like you could fault a soldier for dealing with logistics and such.
"Hmm…" Ehren stated while clicking at his pistol while slowly talking to someone else. "I'm going to assume you HADN'T formerly planned out that battle?" Ehren questioned as he looked at a Sergeant.
The soldier was silent while he hummed and looked at him. He knew that something was different. The empire was constantly curious and expanding it's borders once more. He cracked his fingers and set his pistol within his holster while he slowly sat up and looked around once more.
Another platoon of soldiers slowly entered the motor pool. Ehren sighed as he paused to address them… He enjoyed being a strategist and an engineer rather than a front-line soldier, he had fought enough battles to know how dangerous the front lines were. He was a decent fighter, but his mind was more dangerous than his combat skills, that combined with his track record made his skills rather better off the battlefield.
"Your aware your coming into another group of soldiers that you're going to be helping with, yes?" Ehren heard which caused him to hum and shrug as he turned to the side.
"Which group of the empire am I going to be assisting?" Ehren asked as he dusted off his uniform. "Well?" Ehren asked, curious as to what was being asked of him.
The soldier was more silent then anything, mostly because he barely knew anything about said group. It was almost impressive that the empire had managed to sneak a group under their radar… Except the fact that they had managed to do so for YEARS. Many of their projects were under the table and underhanded, it didn't surprise Ehren that this was probably ANOTHER one of said projects.
He turned away from the soldier, turning around and keeping his hand on his holster once more. Ehren knew something was off, these soldiers looked different from the metallic wearing armor which made these soldiers stand out more with their black uniforms. That made them standout as special forces as he crossed his arms.
"Oh, these soldiers I'm guessing?" Ehren asked as he hummed and finally looked around the room.
The soldiers looked around the room and slowly nodded in his direction as Ehren slowly walked towards them. He brushed off his clothing.
"I'm going to guess that you're looking for me?" Ehren asked as he raised a eyebrow and hummed. "May I ask who you are?" Ehren inquired, much more curious while he looked around.
"No, sir." One of the soldiers stated while referring to the lieutenant. "You will have to come with us when it comes down to it." The soldier added to which Ehren nodded and sighed before slowly following after said soldier.
"Do you wish to point out why you require ME and only me?" Ehren asked as he crossed his arms. "Is it because these soldiers are in need of a good mechanic and such?" Ehren asked as he rolled his eyes.
"That is PART of the reason when you think about it." The soldier pointed out which caused Ehren to blink.
These soldiers wore masks which explained that they were NOT regular soldiers. Ehren guessed that they were not on the books. These soldiers could be working for a special forces group,
"Am I leading these soldiers?" Ehren asked as he walked next to the soldier while he cracked his fingers. "Because I am NOT a good frontline soldier when it comes down to it. There's not much I could do outside of planning or mechanical warfare." Ehren added, being completely honest with himself as well.
The soldier didn't react, merely shuffling forward with a pace that almost made Ehren think he wasn't human to begin with. Then again? Given the amount of things the empire HAD done over the years? He wouldn't be had to convince this WAS in line with the empire.
"Does this project help the empire in any meaningful way?" Ehren asked, his tone sounding more bored then angered or distressed over this.
He didn't get much of an answer yet.
