Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Tank Terrors. Enjoy the 900-word story. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.

(Imperial Line.)

Ehren started to look over the schematics for the Batomy-class tank Echidna. He hummed and started to tighten a bolt a moment later. He was FAR more curious on HOW this thing functioned, if it was so powerful? Then it was clearly something that the empire had placed a FAR larger number of resources into it then he thought.

He was quite taken with this ship at the moment. How could you do this much with such a limited amount of time? It was then he remembered the Empire FAR outstripped those that they were busy fighting meaning he knew FAR more then anything would happen when it came down to it.

Still? If things were that good? Then he was curious while he busily tightened a bolt before a certain voice spoke up a moment later as he sighed and leaned on the tank.

"Yes, Major?" Ehren asked as he brushed off his jacket and slowly lowered himself from the apparatus in question while he looked at the woman in question.

"How goes the work, Lieutenant?" Lydia questioned, placing her hands on her hips as the officer turned and leapt down from the treads.

"Slowly, there's a LOT of work to do if you ever wish to see it ready for battle." Ehren said while he adjusted his cap a moment later. "The armor is very minor at places… I've been trying to tighten the rest of the bolts to make sure it's ready for the battlefield." Ehren stated while dusting off his hands as he shook his head.

Lydia was quite curious as to what was going to happen next. Their group was set to move out within a few days. She needed the gear as ready as possible when that occurred, anything less would result in them getting put on the backfoot when it came down to it.

"Why do you have such a large tank if we're going into war with a smaller country?" Ehren questioned, raising an eyebrow as he stopped to think about it. "Do you need me to point out the flaws of having such a massive vehicle at this time?" Ehren stated as he paused to let his words pick up.

Lydia was silent, unaware of how best to respond a second later. Ehren looked at her, placing his hands on his hips while he tried to think of how this tank factored into their plans.

He was going to talk tactics before he was interrupted by someone approaching. They looked important, like they outranked him by several ranks. Still? This was still a military hanger, meaning both he and Lydia both snapped off salutes as the man passed them by with a small squad of soldiers with a very unique look which made him question what was going on.

'Are those bird-like masks? What are they doing with those? This plot seems to thicken the more I dwell on it.' Ehren thought to himself as he sighed and turned to return to his work.

Lydia went to speak before realizing that Ehren had returned to working on the Echidna. She hummed and decided to board the vehicle, eager to see the fruits of her subordinate's labors at the end of the day. They had a war to carry out and currently? They were busy focusing on other ideas, anything and everything had to be considered at the end of the day. He new for a fact that something was coming, and he began to wonder what his role in this operation was.

Still? Ehren had his orders and work to do and at the end of the day. He was quite curious as to WHAT his goal was besides fix the tank and then join as part of the rest of this invasion force when it came down to it.

'Is she part of something that's bigger than the war effort? This tank isn't standard issue. It's new, it's fancy… It's one of a kind, isn't it? That's going to point out something crazy… But I'm not sure what the move is here or even the strategy.' Ehren thought as he moved to fix another screw upon the vehicle, eager to end this at the end of the day.

Still? He had plenty of things to do at the end of the day. He had plenty of work to do to make sure this vehicle was quite operational at the end of the day.

"You know things were quite curious at the time, a bigger crew had come in. I started to wonder what was going to happen when they came in to fix things." Ehren stated while he cracked his fingers and waited for a moment while looking at her.

She took the bait, eager to know who had touched her beloved tank. He was quite interested in questions.

Author notes

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be a bit longer. Next chapter will be 900-3500 words at the moment and will show both Lydia and Ehren starting to talk and bond at the moment. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter will be delayed at the moment and will be longer than this hopefully soon enough.
