Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Tank Terrors. Enjoy the 1000-word story. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.

(Imperial Line.)

Ehren twirled his wrench and looked at Lydia. The woman was quite curious about how he was so skilled at his work.

"You graduated at the top of your class in engineering, I believe?" Lydia questioned to which Ehren was silent a moment and then nodded. "That is good, you've done far better than the rest of my men have done at the time. I've given them 2 weeks." Lydia added as Ehren questioned and looked at her, an eyebrow raised.

He put his wrench down. Ehren looked at the woman with interest before he started to think about what to say.

"How did you even get your hands on a tank like this?" Ehren questioned, gesturing to the tank in front of him. "There is no such vehicle in the empire's army. This is not a standard-issue; I know for a fact you've also designed it further with modifications." Ehren stated, brushing some of the dust off his shirt.

"Yes, it is special in that there's very little of this tank in the rest of the empire," Lydia added, looking around with amusement when she thought about it. "There are 2, you are correct to believe they are special considering there are only 2 in the entire empire, and the other one belongs to Prince Maximillian," Lydia added, causing the soldier and engineer to think for a second.

"This vehicle belongs to the prince!?" Ehren questioned as he unhooked himself from the tank and slowly lowered himself down.

"No, this one is owned by me," Lydia added, gesturing to the tank with her fingers as she paused to look up, curious once more. "I am curious as to how you've gotten to be an officer like this." Lydia put in while she nodded to him a second later as she looked down at Ehren who simply nodded.

He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth in interest as he turned to look around. Lydia spoke as he lifted his goggles from his temples.

"You've looked through my profile," Lydia responded, gaining a hum from Ehren as he shrugged, looking down at the ground. "I know you are quite smart, you're intelligent enough to study your allies and your enemies. I know you are quite familiar with my way of doing things." Lydia added, gaining a nod from Ehren.

"I know you're a very skilled officer," Ehren added as he dusted off his hands. "Yet, I know you are also very brutal and dominating. You like winning, you like the thrill of battle unlike me. I study battle, I court the very tactics that makeup battles when it comes down to it. I don't take pleasure in destroying our enemies unless there's a good reason to enjoy it." Ehren stated, locking eyes with Lydia as he sighed.

"I'm sure your aware of the fact that this unit is far more different than anything you've death with before?" Lydia questioned and got another nod from Ehren. "Then you should know we are not normal forces within the empire. We deal with more personal matters, things within the empire that the common rabble does not attend to." Lydia added as Ehren cleared his throat.

"And you think a lot about things that are outside your control like me." Lydia heard from Ehren as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I am quite sure there's no reason to think that you don't have much to consider. I have plenty to think about currently, like how this tank is powerful enough to level an entire city by itself. You have plenty of firepower, but you're not deploying it normally when it comes down to it." Lydia heard from Ehren who was smirking as she nodded.

"There will be much destruction before we handle this objective we have been given," Lydia responded, dusting herself off and sitting next to Ehren who could only raise an eyebrow in amusement at this.

"And yet you don't want me to know what said the objective is, you know," Ehren added, gaining a nod from Lydia. "It isn't really easy to trust you when there are secrets between us," Ehren added as he crossed his arms, unsure what to do next.

Lydia said nothing. She was well aware of how badly this war would be going, this wouldn't end well if they didn't accomplish their objective. There was far too much at stake for them to simply bow down to their enemies, however? Lydia needed to think about how their tactics were best applied to combat.

"You know? It's surprising seeing an officer like you commanding a tank like this." Ehren said, gesturing to the Echidna as he did so. "No offense, I'm just pointing out something, most officers I've seen? They're usually willing to stand behind their soldiers who do the heavy fighting for them, it's something I don't subscribe to when it comes down to it. I'd rather die on the frontlines of combat, alongside my men when it comes to warfare." Ehren added as he paused to take a breath, taking into account that Lydia would be the personal pilot.

Then again? She was piloting the biggest and most effective battle machine on the battlefield. He knew more than anything that it gave her more comfort inside the tank.

He was willing to get into that next time, however. She was his commander at the moment, he would match her orders at the moment.
