(A/N: I know I keep making more stories without continuing my older ones, and for that I apologize, yet I played a game, and for reasons I am not sure of a new story popped into my head. Now here is the kicker… This will be the first Crossover story with the game I played, and I looked on the Fanfic list for their Crossovers and this game isn't even a part of the list which is a shame since it is an amazing game.

I am not sure of how many of you are familiar with the Indie Game company Supergiant Games…

They so far have only made four games, and I have to say that each and every one of them is amazing. For a company that lacks quantity, they sure as hell make up for it with quality. This is a crossover with their latest game, which is still in Early Access, but even so, the game feels like it is complete already with more being added to it as time goes by. I am talking of course of the game Hades. So for those of you who have not played this game, for the love of god… go and play it! Hell, I'll even make you a deal, here is a challenge… if you can guess who my favorite anime character is of all time, I'll buy you the game myself (Via Steam since Epic Store sucks!) so you can experience it yourself. But only one guess per person though I will allow you to ask one additional question via Pm before you guess but only one so make it count, and the only hint I will offer for everyone is that the character is the main one of their series.

But moving on… I hope you enjoy this story, and that you all remain safe and healthy in your homes. We already had enough to deal with, but then the riots began, and it is only making an already bad situation even worse than it already was. Enjoy!)

This is the story of a child, one whose destiny was ripped from him, yet against the very Fates themselves, took it back…

Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze was born on October 10th, a day that haunted not only him, but the people who lived in the village he unfortunately found himself residing within as well. On this day, he was born, and his birth weakened his mother so that the demon she contained broke free from its seal and began to wreak havoc across the place. His father had fought off the demon, yet even with him doing so, there was so much damage done to the village as well as many lives being lost, which ended with his fathers.

The demon did not want to be sealed away once again like it was before and tried to kill the newborn baby so as to stop any attempts to reseal him. Yet the child's mother blocked the attack at the cost of her own life, and she died proclaiming her love for her newborn child being the last words that left her mouth. His father had sacrificed his own soul itself to summon up the god of death so as to form a seal that placed the demon into his son. His final words were to the previous leader of the village Hiruzen to make sure the village saw Naruto as a hero, but Hiruzen had no intention to heed his final words…

Naruto's life from that moment on was nothing short of hell, as Hiruzen allowed the villager to hurt the child in retaliation to what the demon had done to their homes, as well as the countless people it had killed. Hiruzen allowed this to happen, so as to play the 'caring' grandfather role and enforce the boy's loyalty to him as a weapon in the future. And his sickening plan might have worked, but there was a man, one whose entire family was killed by the demon, who had lost his mind and sought a means to eliminate the demon once and for all. He left the village the day after the attack and six years later he returned with an item that he acquired that would be the end of the boy…

The item in question was a dagger of sinister design, but it was not merely an instrument to stab with… far from it. The very blade itself was cursed by powers beyond the understanding of many, and was in fact not even from their world if what the crazy salesman that sold the thing to him had said was true on the manner. So with all his money spent on a chance to kill the demon and avenge his family, he found the brat being attacked by the usual mob of people and walked forward. No one stopped him since not a single person cared for his well-being. And with no opposition to his actions, he plunged the dagger into the boy's heart, and the people could only watch as the insides of his body lit up like they were on fire. Once the process was over, Naruto's body slumped over dead, his eyes gone as well as his insides turned to ash leaving nothing more than a hollow shell of child…

Yet while the people had celebrated the death of the demon, he did not just disappear as they thought, nor was he burning in hell like they wanted…

He was in fact reborn…

But not in our world…

This new world was filled with gods of all shapes and sizes, with three of them being the strongest of them all. These gods were Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus, who was the king of all the Greek Gods. While most of them ruled the world above and maintained order, Hades ruled the Underworld and maintained the souls that would pass through so as to judge their final resting place and send them there for an eternity.

Yet he was not the only god in the underworld, for with him was his wife Persephone... and it is her tale that will lead to the events that follow…

The Greek goddess, Persephone, was the child of Demeter, the goddess of earth's fertility and harvest, and Zeus, the king of all the Olympians. Demeter was the most nurturing of goddesses and, in turn, was the most nurturing of mothers since it was in her nature. She cared as deeply for her daughter Persephone as she did the earth itself. Persephone lived a happy, fruitful childhood, playing with the other Olympian children and spending time in the gardens of Olympus.

On one occasion however, as Persephone was picking the flower, narcissus, with a group of her favorite flora nymphs, the earth suddenly opened up. Out of the deep, dark blackness Hades emerged.

From his place in the Underworld, he had seen Persephone's innocent beauty grow to radiance. He desperately wanted her to be his Queen of the Underworld. So, one day he approached Zeus asking for permission to take Persephone as his Queen. With little concern for how Demeter would respond to such a request, Zeus agreed and Hades was given consent.

Now, Hades, at the sight of Persephone's natural but rich beauty took hold of her and carried her gently down with him to the Underworld. Persephone cried out for her dear mother Demeter but to no avail. Now in the Underworld, Persephone was under Hades' control.

Demeter approached the gardens where Persephone usually played with the nymphs but could no longer find her daughter anywhere. She found one particular nymph in a grove, usually boasting morning glory flowers in her hair, sobbing; the flowers lay strewn along the lush grass. Demeter gently asked her where Persephone was. The nymph, in anguish, would not answer.

Stricken with grief, Demeter scoured the earth in search of her daughter. Her immense sorrow caused the earth to grow dark, cold, and barren. The once lush meadows yellowed. The trees curled and furled. The rain stopped.

Having searched the entire living land, Demeter finally contacted Zeus. He informed her of Persephone's marriage to Hades in the Underworld. Demeter grew into a motherly rage. She demanded Zeus to return Persephone to her care.

But Zeus refused… some father huh?

Demeter left Olympus and watched as the earth began to decay without her nurture. She sought to punish Zeus for betraying her and their daughter. The now yellow meadows blackened and decomposed to dust. The trees began to shrink into the hard dirt. The rivers shriveled up, and the lakes froze over. Zeus had no other choice but to agree to Demeter's demands. He told Hermes, the messenger, to bring Persephone back up to Demeter's care.

In the Underworld, Persephone had grown to love Hades, who treated her with compassion and loved her as his Queen. As she would have up in Olympus, she remained eternally beautiful in the Underworld. Hades admired her kind and nurturing nature. However, Persephone missed her dear mother greatly and wished to spend time on earth with her.

When Hermes reached the Underworld, he requested that Persephone come back to earth with him to rejoin her mother and father. Hades knew he could not refuse the commands of Zeus, but he also could not part from his beloved Persephone.

Before she departed from the Underworld, Hades offered Persephone a pomegranate as a farewell. This was, however, a cunning move by Hades. All the Olympians knew that if anyone ate or drank anything in the Underworld they would be destined to remain there for eternity, as the Fates had cautioned. Even Demeter had warned Persephone of this fate and instructed her never to eat or drink anything.

Thinking of her mother, Persephone decided to; instead, eat the small seeds of the pomegranate – assuming that these would not count as consumption. Little did Persephone know, this was exactly why Hades had given her the pomegranate. After eating six of the seeds, Persephone was approached by the Fates, who told her she would forever remain in the Underworld as Hades' Queen.

Hermes sadly went back up to Zeus and Demeter, who anxiously sat awaiting her daughter's return. Upon the sight of Hermes alone Demeter spiraled into a fit of immense grief and sobbing – she knew what Hades must have done to keep Persephone there.

However, Zeus, being the mighty king of all gods, could not allow his beloved land to become decayed and barren; and so, he met with Hades himself. With the help of Hermes the infamous deal was struck.

Because Hades had deceivingly tricked the young Persephone into eating the pomegranate, he was commanded to allow Persephone to visit her poor mother above his domain. In return, Zeus promised a binding deal that allowed Hades to have Persephone a month for each seed she had eaten. Thus, for half of each year, Persephone was to sit on the throne of the Underworld beside Hades.

During Persephone's six months on earth reunited with her mother, the land was fertile, beautiful, and warm. The meadows were lush and of the deepest green. The trees were tall, sturdy, and fruitful. The rains came often and drought was unseen.

However, when Persephone left the land and entered Hades' domain, earth experienced a cold, dark period with no growth. Demeter grieved for her daughter and had little time to nurture the land.

Thus, the seasons were created – the autumn and winter months were when Persephone sat on the throne of the Underworld beside Hades, and the spring and summer months were when Persephone was reunited with her dear mother, Demeter.

And this is how the world went for countless years. And while the myths of many would say that she went on to love her husband, those myths were all lies…

She resented the man who had taken her from her home and literally dragged her into the depths of the Underworld. She loathed the six months that she lived here, and could not wait until the next time she was allowed to resurface and live topside once more. But most of all, she hated the fact that she was married to the coldest of men to exist, since while the man wanted her as his wife, she was more of a trophy than anything else.

For years, Persephone wanted a child, one who she would love and nurture in a manner so as to make her time in the Underworld all the better, and yet Hades was not an intimate man. And while she was loath to do so, she prayed for the means to have a child since none of the other gods would help her. Especially Artemis, who was a virgin still and claimed that no man would ever have her and told her that sex was overrated and to stop complaining about her lack of any sort of intimacy…

Hell, even Aphrodite could not help her since Hades was immune to her abilities, and to be honest it infuriated her to no end that there existed a man who could do so…

Yet after literal years of praying to whatever, or whoever could help her, her prayers were answered in the strangest way…

She found a bottle of intricate design that had a heart on it on a table in her room. A note simply told her to give it to Hades to drink, and she would get her child. This vial was glowing red, which made her question what exactly it was, but she so desperately wanted a child that at this point she was willing to try anything. So with the vial emptied into a glass of wine her 'husband', she always gagged at the word when it came to their relationship, she watched as he drank it, and when she was sure that the effects of the potion were in full swing she threw out the idea for them to breed a child together.

Hades at this point was drugged by the contents of the vial and was in a willing mood, so he took his wife for the first time to their bed. Persephone wanted to vomit as she let this man have his way with her, but her desire to become a mother was great enough for her no to do so and let him do what needed to be done to sire a child within her. Luckily for her, he did not last long, and once the deed was done, she left the room as he slept off the effects of the potion.

Her greatest wish was realized, and she became pregnant with child. But things did not go as she had hoped they would…

Hades found out she was pregnant, and demanded to know what had happened. Once the truth was spoken to him, he was beside himself in rage, and was so very tempted to kill the child within her. But that was more his siblings thing, and he would not stoop to their level. So he threatened her into silence, told her that if she ever spoke a word of their child to anyone, that for the rest of time, the six months she was with him… they would seem like an eternity of pain when he got his hands on her.

Seeing as the gods had neither aided her when she was at first kidnapped as well as the fact that Zeus had actually allowed it to happen in the first place, she knew that they would not aid her from the wrath of her husband now if he did as he threatened to do to her. So she submitted and never spoke a word of their child, who was given the name Zagreus, who became the love of her life and made her time in the Underworld all the more better for her. Yet while she could rise up and leave the realm, her son could not go with her and this deeply saddened her to the core.

As she spent all her time raising their son up to the age of three, Hades grew angry as well as jealous that his own wife was not caring about him and sought to make her feel his pain. So that was when the torture began, and in time Persephone could not bear the pain anymore, and while she wished to take her son with her she could not. So while Hades slept, she escaped out of the Underworld using a means that no one had ever found, not even him. The gods had no idea where she was since she was not amongst them, nor was she hidden away in any of the four realms of the Underworld.

But even though she was gone, time still went on and the world soon mainly forgot about her. But as this happened, Zagreus was raised to become strong. Even though Hades could not bear the sight of the boy most of the time, he refused to have a weak prodigy to his name so he made the legendary warrior Achilles train him in the arts of war. He also lied to the boy and claimed that Nyx was his mother, and the boy believed them since he had no reason to doubt his father, as cold to him as he was…

But in time, the boy learned the truth of his origins, that Nyx was not his mother. His mother was in fact Persephone, and it angered him so much to see that his father had lied to him, yet he harbored no ill will to Nyx, who had raised him right over the years. It was at that moment that he made his first attempt to try and escape the Underworld itself to seek his mother, but it did not end well with him dying about ten minutes later. Yet he did not die, he simply respawned in the Blood Fountain that was the place where all souls arose from to be judged by Hades. The same man called his son a fool for attempting the impossible, yet Zagreus tried to escape again and again, each time with no success.

It was at this point that the Olympians heard about the young man, and while they were pissed beyond measure that Hades had never told any of them that he had a son, and with Persephone of all people, they could do nothing since the boy was born of the Underworld. But they decided to aid the boy as he made his many attempts at escaping, and with the boons they offered him in his quest, he grew stronger as well as faster. But even with their help, the process was slow and he continued to die time and time again. But eventually, he made it through all four realms that made up the Underworld, the doors to the mortal realm opening up for him to pass through…

Yet in his path stood his own father…

And the Lord of the Underworld showed no mercy to his son…

Zagreus lost to his father more times than he would care to count, but finally… through sheer luck along with the right combination of boons gifted along with the proper choice in weapons, Hades lay slain… Sinking into the depths such as he himself had done time and time again when he had failed to break free…

And mere moments before he stepped into the magical light that would take him to the realm of mortals, so as to be with his kin and thus begin searching for his mother… that was when Lord Hade's cruelest torment was activated…

For all the gods' power, all their strength and the like… not a single one of them could fight the Fates themselves, and since they resided in the Underworld… they worked for Hades…

With a snap of their fingers, Zagreus found time rewound a bit, the final strike he made on his father being negated entirely, and his old man ramming his spear into his chest, killing him once more…

Zagreus was enraged beyond all things, that his final victory had been negated, that he had been cheated out of it entirely by an outside force. And what made it worse was the fact that no one other than the Gods themselves knew that he had won, and Hades was sure as hell never going to admit it to anyone. So in his fury, Zagreus once more set out to break free, to hell with Fate itself!

And time and time again, he defeated his father, but no matter how many times he did it, or even with what weapon or magical power he used, the Fates would always undo what had been done to defeat Hades. Yet that wasn't the only thing that happened…

Every time he was cheated out of his rightful win, he would get glimpses of a child. One that was so young, yet the people around him called the child demon and would set upon the innocent child with weapons of all sorts as they did so. The horrific things he saw done to the child were nothing short of infuriating since he was no demon as they claim. Zagreus lived in a place where such creatures existed, and yet that child was nothing like them. What made him wonder more on the subject is why he was seeing these things in the first place. The area didn't look like Greece judging by the clothes worn by the villagers, or the buildings surrounding the area of these images. But he had no idea, nor could he ask out of fear he was slightly losing his mind.

In time though, he finally began the process of breaking free…

While he did his usual run-through of the realms that he had to go through to fight his father for the umpteenth time, he noticed a strange vortex of dark energy out of the way of the main path. He wasn't sure what it was, but after seeing the same thing so many times, he welcomed a change of scenery and investigated it. He got close to it, and the closer he got the louder a voice called out for him. So throwing all caution to the wind, he walked into it, and then he felt sharp pain as the vortex drained some of his health as it drew him down into the depths…

There he found himself on a platform made of marble, yet everywhere else he looked, there was nothing. Just an empty void. Before him though was a Boon, the things that the Gods sent him in his attempts to break free, but this one was not from a god he knew. So once more throwing caution to the wind, he invoked it in the name of Hades, and out of the mark came a creature that defied description. It was neither good nor bad, and was simply in fact Chaos incarnate.

The being spoke to him in a strange mix of a feminine as well as masculine voice, offering him the strength to break free but only if he was strong enough to face the challenges of Chaos itself. Seeing that just running up and fighting through the same enemies time after time wasn't enough, he was more than glad to go this route and accepted. He was thrown through multiple trials, each one more punishing then the last. But in the end, he survived although barely. For his troubles he was given a simple medallion, one of a unique nature that showed a fox with what appeared to be multiple tails… nine if he was counting right. He had no idea as to what the medallion was for, but he took it nonetheless since he had nearly died through multiple trials to obtain it.

So after dying once more, mainly due to the amount of health he lost in the trials of Chaos, he finally made his way to the surface and fought his father once more and defeated him. And yet while the Fates turned back time once more as they had done countless times, this time was different. The medallion that had been given to Zagreus shattered, the energy within it embedding itself into his person. He felt a massive surge of power as he took ahold of his father's weapon and yanked it out of his hand. Hades could only look at his own son in horror as he saw nine tails appear behind him, each that pierced a different section of his body and ripped him apart…

Zagreus yelled to the Heavens in rage as well as joy that he had finally won, that the Fates had finally failed to screw him over, but the moment the power diminished, he fell to his knees since the strain had been too much to take all at once like he had. He tried to make his way to the portal, to finally be free of this dark place, yet Hades arrived faster than he could weakly crawl to it and nearly grabbed the boy to drag him back to the Underworld once again. Yet his hand was grabbed by none other than Zeus, who was joined by the other gods who had aided the young boy throughout his journey. They told him that the boy had earned his freedom, yet Hades was not one to be denied and nearly went into a rampage, yet before they could do anything else they were all engulfed in the same Darkness that brought Zagreus to the Void itself.

Once more he found himself where he had met Chaos, who was there to greet the understandably confused gods, since none of them knew of this place. And from behind Chaos came Persephone, who immediately hugged her son with all the love she was able to muster, for it had been so long since she had seen him. She cried since she knew that this would be the last time they ever saw one another, and she was okay with what was going to happen.

Chaos explained that there were many different worlds in existence. All had their own views, their own gods and religions, as well as government and the like. But in the end, the Void connected them all since Chaos reigned in all worlds over time. It then placed Its hand on Zagreus's head, and the boy fell to his knees as he was forced to remember his past life…

The life he lived as a boy named Naruto Uzumaki…

He saw the events leading up to his death and even his parent's sacrifice to save him in the hopes he would have a bright future. The problem was the old man had other plans and tried to mold him into a weapon for the village's use instead. And it was only because of the man who killed him that he was truly set free. The dagger he was killed with was made of a metal that was tainted with the energy of the Void. So when Naruto was killed with that blade, his soul was sent to this realm, to float lifeless for an eternity.

That is, until Chaos heard the prayers of Persephone, who so desperately wanted a child to call her own. Spirits did not usually dwell in this realm, and Chaos decided to aid the woman, not out of kindness, but to rid It's realm of the anomaly that was Naruto. His spirit made the potion Chaos left the woman, and so the boy was reborn through her into the god he was…

Yet even then she could find no happiness due to Hade's cruelty, and had found the means of escape through a portal to this realm to hide for an eternity. She was a god, so she needed no sustenance to keep her alive, and she would rather be alone forever than to suffer under his cruel hand once more. Yet Chaos did not want her here, and yet she persisted. Eventually It thought of a plan that would solve both their issues, since Zagreus was tied to another world, his destiny interwoven into the fate of that world over this one. It was the reason that he was able to overcome the Fates, since he used his original power from his own world which the Fates of this one had no means to overcome.

So Persephone cried as she kissed her son on the head one final time, telling him that she loved him, and then stepped back. Demeter could only cry out as she saw Chaos rip her daughter's heart out, channeling all her power into the organ, which it then used to open a portal back into Naruto's realm.

Zagreus looked back towards all the gods who had helped him for so long, and smiled that he would finally be free. Now while he was sad that his mother had died like she had, he would at least not allow her sacrifice to be in vain and fulfill his destiny while back in his own world.

Yet he was not going empty handed…

He was given the power he had been gifted through Boons so many times once more by their respective gods. And even Hades gave him a gift in the form of his Infernal Arms that he used to fight the endless legions of enemies in his quest to escape the underworld. With all this power as well as gear, Zagreus said one final thank you as well as a goodbye, and with held breath, he took his first step back into his own world…

Destiny awaited him with open arms after all…

(A/N: Sorry for making this chapter short, but I like to make the first one short to both post it quicker as well as get the reader enticed for the continuation of the story. Plus this seemed like the perfect place to end it, and while so far I have no pairings planned for this story, I am open to suggestions here. There are a few that I will say no to, but for the most part it is wide open… So until next chapter!

Also as a side note, Zagreus's powers are numerous in the game, so it's rather hard to list them all in any way. So if you are curious as to what they are, well look at the wiki since they are all listed there.)
