Chapter 374.
Based off the episode "Ghosted" with a hint of some Goth girl's birthday involved. Enjoy guys.
(The Loud House. After school.)
Almost everyone is at the back of the loud house to make sure that everything is setup for the birthday of Lucy Loud and all the food has been setup, everything creepy and of course, they got some coffins to serve as entertainment for the Goth kids.
Lynn Sr is doing his best to hold his own as the party is being setup, it all looks so spooky, but he tries to be strong and brave. But then he sees the plates and punch bowl head out of the house and into the backyard and Lynn Sr screams and races to the cellar door.
The rest of the louds and Michelle see this. "Well, that was expected" said Lola. "I don't get it, I thought dad said he was gonna try to be brave this October for Lucy's Birthday and for Halloween?"
"It does appear he is trying to be brave. We all know that when it comes to things that are scary, father tends to be less of a courageous act than Lincoln is. At least Lincoln did not have some of his traits" replied Lisa as she passes by the floating plates.
"Well, at least he tried to be brave" said Rita. "At least he had the courage to make the cake as Lucy wants it to be." They all look to the cake that looks like her severed head on the table. "Though, it does look creepy."
"It may be creepy mom, but sure enough it'll be sweet to the bone!" said Luan. They all groan from that pun.
"What most of us are looking forward for is tomorrow" replied Lana. "Halloween baby, and there will be loads of candy for all of us to try and get our hands on!"
"And we got someone whose gonna help keep an eye on us as we do our thing" replied Lola. They look to Michelle Lewis who is handed the floating plates and she places them onto the table.
"Well someone has to keep an eye on the little ones as the rest of the family is at Liam's farm with the largest haunted corn maze and the rest are at the Halloween parties. Someone has to keep track for any signs of trouble, even though there are guards and troops for tomorrow night" replied Michelle.
"This party is so awesome and Lucy is so gonna…. Love this? Like this? I don't know, whatever makes Goth peeps happy or something" replied Lynn Jr. "Where is she anyway?"
"Waiting with Lincoln for Luna to take them to Fairway to get Lori, I question why she needs them to come to her school to get her for this" said Rita.
Leni then ducks as the blood sausages pass over her head. "Same here. Lori didn't even text me why, she just said to get Lincoln, Luna, Lucy and anyone else who knows dead and ghost stuff to her college ASAP. Wonder what that's all about."
"Whatever it is, must be of the upmost important" replied Lisa. "We should leave them be and focus on something else, and that something is this party and someone please get father."
"I got this" said Lynn Jr. She then goes into the cellar. "Come on dad, we need you up here now."
Michelle then sees all the food is being setup by something. "Still kinda shocking that we get help from the one member in the house people hardly see."
They all know who's been helping them and that someone is none other than the ghost of Great Grandma Harriet. "This is kinda spooky to me, you think she'll be part of the haunted corn maze?" asked Lola.
"Sure as heck she will be" replied Luan. "It's supposed to be haunted and it can't be haunted unless you got some spirit in ya!" They all groan at this and a pie is thrown to her face. Thank you Harriet.
Harrier, Nora, Artemis and Freya are just looking at this and are so confused, along with the bats and pets they can see the ghost go back and forth and help with everything. They don't even know if this is a whole new side of normal now.
(Front yard.)
Luna, Lincoln, Lucy and the rest of the Young Morticians Club are all waiting for someone. "So, when is she coming here again?" asked Haiku.
"Be patient guys, Jordan said she'll be here with a ride" replied Lincoln. Then they see a dropship coming down. "Yup, she came." The eagles then take off from Lincoln and they take to the skies.
The doors open and they see Jordan. "Hop in guys. Next stop: Fairway University and then we'll make our way back here with Lori for the whole party!"
They all get into the dropship and see that the man piloting it is Peter Harris. "Afternoon kids, so what the heck does Lori need help with and why is she sounding so desperate for help?"
"No clue dude, she said to bring me, Linc, Luce and anyone else who knows in the whole paranormal game and stuff" replied Luna. "Any word from the Ghost Labs guys?"
The Dropship then takes off from the house and is now flying. "The Ghost Labs team is inbound out of Michigan. They're called in to investigate a haunted site far from the New Jersey and they have to find out what's going on there. Looks like we're on our own without any pros."
Morpheus coughs. "Excuse me, but we are professionals. Sure we do not have the tools that help interact with the dead such as the Klinge brothers, but we do dabble and speak with whatever entities are seeking to haunt a location."
"He's right, we know what to do and whatever it is that Lucy's older sister needs might truly be above the paranormal level of a haunting" replied Persephone.
"We can handle this" replied Boris.
"This is a job for those who know more about the paranormal as the paranormal community goes" replied Lucy. "And that is why the Young Morticians Club is here" replied Lucy.
"A shame that our former president is not here to see this with us" replied Dante. They bow their heads, saddened that they're former president Bartholomew cannot be with them for this ghostly time.
Peter Harris is confused and a bit freaked out from this. "Okay, got it. This is gonna be one wild ride for us when we get there. Get your game faces on people. We're about to go in hot!" He punches the Dropship to full and they move at great speed towards Fairway University.
Then Lincoln chuckles at something he recalls. "So glad I have up on ARGGH! Otherwise, things would've gotten super awkward."
"Also, Lincoln and Luna open that case over there next to ya" said Peter. Lincoln and Luna open the case and they all smile at what they see. They got the tools of the trade to help them with this issue.
(Fairway University.)
The dropship lands in front of the university and they see Lori, along with Carol, Becky, and Whitney.
The dropship opens and Lori goes over and she hugs Lincoln. "Hey Lincoln and Lucy and Luna and everyone else. We have a serious issue here." She then recalls. "Oh, and Happy Birthday Lucy."
"Thanks Lori, and we do need to ask. This issue, does it have something to do with a ghost?" asked Lucy.
Becky nods. "It does, we're planning on the bit tournament for all freshmen and we are freshmen and we have been feeling stressed as we practice and if we don't ace the tournament then chances we'll lose our scholarship."
"So, what the heck is the hot issue with the ghost?" asked Jordan.
"We've been haunted by this ghost" replied Carol. "Lori and I were doing some night time practice and then some clubs were moving in front of us, but then were gone and the balls we tossed to the practice area have returned for some reason."
"I was like in the library and I was going to study on some things that are super-duper important for the tournament and then all of a sudden some books came onto the table and started to float around me for some reason" said Whitney. "It was super scary."
"I was at the universities bar and I needed something to calm my nerves and all of a sudden the iced tea I wanted came and I got freaked out and bailed, but I did drink my iced tea before anything else happened" replied Becky.
"We then thought it was coming for us at our dorm rooms, but nothing happened and we freaked out for nothing. I was surprised Jessica didn't even wake up from the panicking noise we made" replied Lori with so much concern.
"Thankfully no one else noticed our panicking sounds" said Becky. "It would've been awkward."
They're all shocked at what they just said. "Huh, so it's that bad" replied Jordan.
"Alrighty then, so we got a ghost haunting all four of you and…." Peter Harris looks around. "Where the heck is Jessica Carson and what about your friend Dana? I thought she'd be here to help out with this problem."
"Dana said she was busy with some big test to study for next week, along with Bobby" replied Whitney.
"Jessica said she'd be back later in the day, I didn't wanna bother her since she's totally busy with some big exam for her class for next week" replied Lori. "She literally seemed busy and I didn't want her to worry about us."
Lucy nods. "Well, we have to try and figure out what this ghost wants. There are many reasons why ghosts haunt people, and the outcome is that they're good or bad. Or very, very, very violent."
The girls did not like that sound. "Umm, you mean like that the ghost might have some…. Dark intentions for us?" asked Carol.
The very thought of that was making them nervous. "I don't think so, if it did want something that involved beauty then it would've attacked you from the showers or tried something more perverted" replied Haiku.
Lincoln then asks. "Has the ghost been doing that?"
"Not that we know, we just encounter the ghost on the golf course and where we need to calm down and study for the big tournament" replied Becky.
Luna thinks about this as well, she recalls when she was with Lincoln and the Ghost Labs team. "So, the ghost is just coming from the course, the library and the golf course and the bar where the peeps hang out to chill and also be less stressed. There seems to be a pattern here."
"The answers we seek lie within the ghost, or to the one place we need to get info from." Jordan look to the library and this does not make Whitney happy.
"Jordan is right, we need to go there and find some information. In the meantime, some of us will go around campus and try to pick up the presence of this spirit" replied Lucy.
"Do you mean we have to split up?" asked Becky.
"Yes, that's what she means. So, Lori and Carol are with us at the Library along with Luna and The Young Morticians Club will be with Peter Harris and Dana and Whitney to go around the court. I know Whitney is nervous about the library and the rest of you girls haven't been in there yet" replied Lincoln.
Whitney sighs in relief. "Good idea, I am not going back to that library until this has been settled with."
"Alright, let's get going" replied Peter. He has an EMF and EVP and so does Lincoln, Luna and Jordan, that's what was in the case from the dropship, Peter kinda knew something like this might come up.
They all head their way to the library and to the golf course and the eagles: Patriot and Valkyrie take off and watch over the place for any signs of anything paranormal.
(Library.)
Lincoln and Jordan grab some books: From the History of Fairway University all the way to the School Year Books and those are a lot of Year Books.
Lucy is sitting on the chair where Whitney once was and she tries to feel the aura of the ghost. "Hmm, seems like something was here and is gone. Whatever it is or whoever it once was is no longer here and has left someplace around campus."
Luna comes back to Lucy. "No spikes in energy besides the power around here, and no EVP's as well. But the FutureTech Paranormal scanners detected something was here and left some kind of ecto-residue, and it is all around the place and seems to be going back and forth between the tables and chairs and to the book shelves."
Lincoln and Jordan go to them and show them the books. "Okay, so these are the books we need. Let's get to reading" replied Jordan.
Luna then sees the EMF is spiking. "What in the heck is this?"
Jordan is reading the history of the university. "I think I need the year book about the staff." Then a book is given to her. "Thank Linc."
Lincoln is on her right side with Lucy. "What do you mean? I…." Lincoln then sees a book floating. "Do not panic."
Jordan sees the book in front of her floating and she grabs it and sees it's about the students from the year 1900. "Thank you, ghost." Lucy is shocked that happened and so did Lincoln.
The EMF is no longer spiking. "Dudes, I think that was the ghost and it didn't seem like a threat, and I think he left or something" said Luna. She then sits with them and goes through the books.
"The best way to know is through reading, so let's get to it" said Lucy.
Lincoln then gets a text from Leni. "Guys, the party is still being made and we're still trying to get dad out of the basement. Keep Lucy busy, also I think dad got his foot stuck by the pipes. This is gonna get messy." Lincoln then sends her a reply and then goes back to reading.
Lori and Carol come to them with some books. "We asked the librarian and she handed us some books that could help" said Lori. "So, what happened while we were gone?"
(Golf Course.)
Peter Harris, the Young Morticians Club and Becky and Whitney and they continue to go through the whole course area and then they stop when Haiku signals them. "Whats' wrong? The ghost here?" asked Becky.
"No, I have an idea." Haiku then grabs a golf club and a ball and she hands the club to Becky. "Now play."
Becky nods and she hits the ball and it hits the hole 300 yards from her. Peter whistles. "Well, I am impressed at how skilled you are just as Lori, but what does this have to do with…. And why is the ball back?"
They all look to Becky's feet and see the ball on the ground. Becky and Whitney are freaked out by this, then another golf club floats in front of Becky. She's about to back away but then Morpheus stops her. "Stop! Take the Nine iron."
Becky grabs the golf club and the glowing is gone. "Huh, what the heck?" She then tries it and she calms down and makes the hit and the ball reaches beyond 300 feet and it bounces off the tree and hits the far hole. "Wow! That's the first time I've ever hit that far and also very strategic with the tree as well. Wait, what the heck just happened?"
Haiku smiles. "I think I know what's going on and the same goes with the rest of us." The rest of the Young Morticians Club smile.
"This has been one short investigation" replied Dante.
Peter is confused and so are Becky and Whitney. "I don't get it." Then a Golf cart arrives and there's no one driving. "What the heck was that?"
"That was our ghost and the answers are all at the Library with the others." Boris and the others hop onto the golf cart and Peter, Becky and Whitney also hop on, though they were freaked out by the fact this golf cart is moving on its own.
(Library.)
They continue to go through the books of the school year's, but Jordan is interested in the book she has and she sees something. "Guys, come over and look at this!"
They go over to what Jordan is reading. "You found something?" asked Lincoln.
Jordan then reads to them what she found. "Okay, so I found this book about the things the school has since the end of the 1950's and the school history and put all the pieces of the puzzle together and found this."
"Shanks Bogey, he was the one guy in Fairway who was always there to help make everyone feel comfortable. He would help them pick which club is good for them, he would get the ball from the water trap by taking down the gator, and he would carry four golf bags and was given a full time job as the caddie of the university after his graduation. He kept doing this for some time and he always helped the school always beat the enemy and also help freshmen who feel nervous and stressed."
Jordan then gabs another book and let's Lucy read this. "Says here that activity began after the loss of Shanks Bogey, the whole thing was a sign to everyone that Shanks has not left our campus and he continues to help us when we need to win it big. He would mostly help freshmen as he would do back when he was living and so it was then that the ghost of Shanks would be our advisor, assistant and great friend and at times a good luck charm to this school."
She then closes the book. "Whoa! That is so awesome and very good history."
Lori is shocked. "He's not a bad ghost, he was trying to help us get over the stress before the big tournament."
Carol then speaks. "And he would do whatever he can to make sure the freshmen today would be comfortable before a big game."
"So that explains a lot." They all see Peter Harris, Becky, Whitney and the Young Morticians Club. "Shanks was at the course and he helped us" said Becky. "Well helped me, and now I can go way over 300 yards now."
"And he also drove us here to the library" replied Whitney.
They all had a lot to talk and think about. Then Jessica Carson arrives. "Hi guys, glad to see you all here. What did I miss?"
(University Bar.)
They all gather and they toast to this. "Wow! And all this time the ghost is not a bad ghost, I am so glad and now I can sleep properly tonight" replied Becky as she drinks three glasses of iced tea and they all back off from her.
"Now we don't have to be scared anymore, I can't believe we were scared at the school spirit" said Whitney. "Now I feel so silly." They all chuckle at this as well.
"True, and now we're not gonna be nervous or freaked out when the tournament begins tomorrow" replied Carol.
"So glad this mystery is solved, now we all know about this ghost and we can help keep him a secret from everyone" replied Jordan.
"Well, I guess this toast is to the one ghost we're no longer afraid of. To Shanks!" said Lori.
They all toast. "To Shanks!"
Carol then sees her drink is empty. "Could use another one Shanks." An iced tea goes to her. "Thank you Shanks." They all enjoy the drinks and hanging out. The eagles are also a part of this and enjoy some of the drinks and they can see the apparition of the ghost Shanks and he is mixing a margarita for Peter Harris.
"This has been one awesome day for me, but we still have a birthday party to go to" replied Lucy.
"Glad I made the call to bring you here with the others, happy birthday Luce" replied Lori.
Lincoln then gets a message from Leni. "Linky the party is ready and guests are inbound. Bring in the birthday Goth."

A/N: This is a good way for Lucy to have a birthday, to help her big sister with a paranormal issue at her university and I thought it would be a better way for the episode "Ghosted" which was kinda weird to me. Leave a review and tell me what you all think.
